A feature of Georgian cuisine is the abundance of herbs, all kinds of spices and seasonings, sauces. Especially widespread is tkemali - a sour sauce made from wild varieties of cherry plum, heavily seasoned with red pepper and chopped herbs. It is served with meat. Adjika is also popular, which is made from a mixture of red pepper, aromatic herbs, garlic, coriander (cilantro) and dill. One of the most common dishes in Georgian cuisine is satsivi - cold boiled poultry stewed with a hot sauce with nuts and spices. Also popular is chikhirtma - chicken or turkey broth seasoned with flour, vinegar-egg mixture and onions.

In the morning in Georgia, they eat khashi - a broth strongly seasoned with garlic, boiled from beef offal or lamb. Cheese of various sorts is highly valued here.
