Ingredients

Apples (preferably Antonovka) 1.5KG
Sugar (1 tbsp in dough and 1 tbsp in apples) 2 tbsp.
Butter 100 g
Eggs 3 pcs.
Baking powder 1.5 tsp.
Vanillin 1.5 g
Flour 1 tbsp.

  • We line the baking dish with baking paper, on it in random order we put butter, cut into small pieces. It is advisable to take a large form, as there are many apples. I have a mold with a diameter of 33.5 cm.

According to SA Tolstoy's notes, there were 6385 fruit trees of various species in the garden. There were 7,900 apple trees alone, and 8,500 trees with cherries and plums. The old apple trees planted by Tolstoy are still growing and bearing fruit in the garden.
It is no coincidence that today, once every two years, up to 200 Tolstoy - descendants of Lev Nikolaevich and Sophia Andreevna - come to Yasnaya Polyana. In addition to various cultural, official and other events, apple jam and apple pies are necessarily cooked. Including this recipe.
