yes immediately. It's just that at first I was a "teapot" in this business and did not understand all this, I got yoghurt in a maximum of 2 hours, here I wondered if the temperature was high, why it ferments so quickly, and you just forget about half a jar of whey, I read about the tefal that it should be off and turned off. But somehow I want everything to be as it should, otherwise sometimes it happens and you forget off ...
and you, how are things with the yogurt maker! what did you do?

A Lis, I have a yogurt maker Ariet. I use it with great pleasure, nothing overheats, everything works out. I have already given it to all relatives as a gift. This yogurt maker does not need a thermostat. The handling is very simple. Put the prepared jars in it, close it, plug it into the socket. After 8 hours, the yogurt is ready. A scale on the panel for a visual reminder of what time to turn off the yogurt maker.
Thank you, so I'm taking Ariete. I have experience of making yogurt in a multicooker, but since this process is not fast, the multicooker is busy almost all the time, and I’m without hands like it, so I decided on a separate device.

And it looks like a coffee grinder, only some kind of plastic ...
Daewoo
Girls, take me to the ranks of yoghurt-mans and yoghurt-business. And although I'm a guy, I love to cook! You know, there are guys with fine mental organization :-) In order. A friend mentioned that he cooks and regularly eats his own yoghurt cultures. From yoghurt-making ... here's a word ... overseas, foreign ... and so, we are athletic, athletic people, watching and watching over the figures ... everything new and useful to us is not for scrap! Already a double boiler takes a place in the kitchen, and the airfryer, which lowers the fats from the products, is glowing ... and now ... the yoghurt-making ... well, what is not a miracle ?! Well, I could not ignore his words, not buy this wonderful unit ... uh, by the way, I have a simple Daewoo, with a mechanical timer (bought in TechnoSil Moscow for 680 rubles, isn't it funny?). And here he is now, the light is on, like boiling ... the potion languishes in seven magic cones. With scalded and chopped prunes, with smelly vanilla sugar. And with Activia, if she is happy with her entire trillion square decimeters of bacteria ... so here's a question for you, girls, all-knowing, wise: I will get yogurt alive, homemade, wonderful ... will it be very different from the purchased one in terms of regulation of my chairs, strong or ... not strong? Is there any real benefit from this civilized cause? Already help with answers and advice to a sporty person, keeping to a figure, and to everything new and open.
rusja
As a "sporty person, keeping fit, and to everything new open" I can advise you not to shove prunes, vanillin and activism into poor yogurt, but start by looking for LIVE bacteria. How to look for them can be found here on the forum in the Yoghurt Maker section, topic: Yogurt with prebiotics ... And already either go to the pharmacy for them or else they will prompt you to the address.
Good luck in yoghurt making and yoghurt eating!
Rina
Daewoo, join rusja - prepare the base in a yoghurt maker, i.e. pure yoghurt without any flavors. And then add whatever you want, even prunes, even dried apricots, even flakes from sprouted cereals ... What else can I advise - be sure to check the temperature regime of the yogurt maker.Even expensive "brand" models often sin with elementary overheating, that is, they kill bacteria and curd milk. It's easy to check - pour water into jars and leave in a working yogurt maker for several hours, then check with a thermometer, you can even use a medical one that is not afraid of water (38-40 degrees, no more!)

Ideally, you need to find just individual dry starter cultures intended for making sour milk at home. The fact is that in ready-made store-bought yogurt, bacteria are either killed, or their vital activity is strangled by some antibiotic. If you are to use store-bought yoghurts as starter cultures, then you need to look for those that have a shelf life of no more than two weeks (in fact, in the old days, store-bought kefir and other sour milk were stored for no more than 2-3 days) and be sure to look at the composition.
matroskin_kot
And I bought "Severin" after arrival ... Already 14 jars. And from Ukraine, I brought a thermostat for yoghurt makers and sourdough ....
rusja
Exactly one year I have been using my DEH-108 and came to the conclusion that in the summer it overheats much more than in the cold season, that's why I don't heat milk at all, and I pour it from the refrigerator. "Selyanske" I mostly take 3.5%, by the way, once it sour right in the refrigerator, so it is not very visible surrogate
Rina
That's why I stopped using dex last year. There is no thermal sensor, apparently, heats up by some degrees. It's good when the average 20 ° C is in the kitchen. But now I will start using it again - there is a real need, if not daily, then at least every other day of yoghurt consumption.
rusja
Well, I think the bacteria will not freeze in cold milk, they will only wake up for a long time, and during this time the yogurt maker will not have time to overheat the milk. Because with different napkins and linings, uneven heating is obtained in different jars and I did not like it either
Daewoo
rusja, Aunt Basya, Rina, girls, thank you! I understood everything, I will do that!

I have one. Interestingly called - Dairy cuisine. Just got it. I make yogurt a second time. The first time I put it at 8 o'clock. It seemed to me a little overheated. There was a little bit of serum. Now I will reduce the time. Let's see what happens.
matroskin_kot
And I, as soon as I bought a yoghurt maker, immediately found an old one, my husband went and "dug up" in the apartment ... Now the yoghurts are piled up like shoe polish ... Ryazhenka is super, and the yogurt is watery for some reason .... I kept thinking that I was old-fashioned ... No, also Severin. Through a thermostat, it works perfectly. The dishwasher washes the cans, the cuckoo boils milk, I contemplate .... Tomorrow - they ordered more ... Daddy will go for milk ...,
Marusya
Dear forum users! Looking for owners of a yogurt maker Moulinex YOGURTEO YG 230! According to the information, it has an automatic shutdown. Is it a thermostat or not? I would like to hear feedback.
Daewoo
Girls, hurray, I did a test: I poured water into the jars, put it on to warm up, and now I lowered the thermometer ... 38 degrees. I have the simplest Daewoo with fur. timer.

no, it's a timer. I liked the yoghurt maker. Yuzayu 2 months.
Marusya
Mowgli, tell me, is it overheating or not? Do you need to buy a thermostat for it?

For 6 hours it turned out quite thick and very tender yogurt. Yummy!!!
Rina
By the way, a small amount of clear liquid ON the surface of the finished yoghurt can be just condensation - water, not whey.

Probably it is, because the milk did not curl

Ooh, thanks for the answer. Tell me, pzhsta, do you put the finished yogurt somewhere and put it in the refrigerator? Or maybe some thread of the flask is taken out there and you can put it in the refrigerator?
And a question to all owners of yogurt makers (please express your opinion):
Which yogurt maker do you think is more convenient - with one large jar or with several small jars?

Here ... I can't choose everything

Take the one that has both jars and a large capacity. I only have jars, but sometimes one large capacity is not enough. But if there was only capacity, no jars, then, I think, there would not be enough jars. Although, I adapted for myself a second set of jars - 240 ml-liter, mayonnaise ones are still said to fit into my yogurt maker in height.

There are purely personal preferences, one part says - "ugh, such a mess with jars",
the second part - "uh, why should I eat from a bucket, if it's more convenient from jars"

Personally, I am a supporter of sterility - I do not admit to climb into a common basin for a portion, and somehow it tastes better from jars and I do not get tired of washing them.
Another thing is that if a family eats a liter at a time, then a large bucket is more convenient.
rusja
In my DEKH-108, there are jars and a large plastic bowl for cottage cheese (but I didn't succeed in making it according to all the rules from sourdough in 2 times), but I also like it more in portions.
Elena Bo
You can make a large can in a multicooker

This yogurt maker has a large plastic container with a 1 liter lid. After finishing cooking, you take it out and put it in the refrigerator.
matroskin_kot
I wrote, but the answer disappeared ... It's more convenient for me - by the piece, in jars, no one digs, doesn't dig ... Moreover, jars are not a problem now. Yesterday evening I charged two yogurt makers (the old one was found after buying a new one) - they are standing, heating. One minus - two thermostats are needed ... They all overheat ... I turned off the new one, and the old one, through the thermostat, is standing, working ...
mowgli
I also like it better when everything is in jars, I made it, stuffed it in the refrigerator, ate it, washed the jar, great !!!

I have a Moulinex DJC141.

For the first time I saw such a "funny" yogurt maker (DELFA DF-2136).

Yoghurt maker - selection, reviews, questions about operation (1)

And the jars are glass and the price is much lower than Moulinex.

rusja
Simpotichno And how much is it in hryvnia?
Luysia
I saw her here

🔗

For example, here the price is 160 UAH:

🔗

You can search, maybe cheaper somewhere.
rusja
Yes, it’s already much cheaper, my DEH-108, last year it cost 180 UAH and it was almost the cheapest device among yogurt makers. I would definitely buy this colored rainbow for that kind of money
Rina
on the infomintser offers from 19.80 to 27 $.
So, you will hardly find less than 160 domestic money.
Sonata
And I have a daewoo yogurt maker, with auto shut-off for 1500 rubles, 200 ml jars (if under the neck), I took it in technosil. I have been using it for a month, a great thing! Does not overheat, it turns off itself. Super!!! and the price is great. Those who have not bought yet, pay attention)))

Sonata, thanks for the answer. Does it overheat? The temperature was measured? How long does it take to prepare yogurt? Sorry to have a lot of questions.
Vafelka
I also took the Moulinex YG230131 yogurt maker for myself. I am very happy - nothing overheats, keeps the temperature, you can set the time and it turns off automatically. Made yogurt several times already. It turned out the first time. Glossy, delicious, delicate, the jar can be turned over. I put it on for 8 hours, made from 1 liter of milk and 1 jar of activation without additives.
Marusya
Vafelka, thanks for the detailed information

Maroussia, I have nothing to measure the temperature, I just tried the bottom of the jars with my hand, not hot. Yoghurt from classic activism and milk is ready in 4 hours, thick, homogeneous.
Marusya
We have a "Starter Shop". where Vivo starter cultures are sold (this is a Kiev production). I like to make yogurt and sour cream out of them.

Hi girls!
Are you joining the yogurt team?
I have a yogurt maker ORION, I have never regretted that I bought one.
We eat a portion of yogurt and fill a new one, sour cream has not taken root in our country, we rarely eat it, but yogurt at night with pleasure.
VIVO starter culture.
hotlife
bought Moulinex 141yu. How smart first measured the water temperature (in the center 40g, at the edges 37-38)
the first portion (baked buttermilk 4%, a 1 liter can sourdough activity) was made in 5-6 hours. Since in a jar in the middle, the process was definitely faster, sometimes I moved it to the edge, and one jar was still ready before

The serum in the central glass has slightly moved away (apparently a little earlier it still needs to be taken out). in terms of density - super - almost like 20% sour cream, nafig powdered milk - we cook for ourselves). With a slight sourness, you can't compare with store options at all, even sugar is almost not needed

PS I did not boil or heat the milk, as a result, when after an hour the glasses were still cold, I put them in warm water and warmed them up, now I will always heat them like this (or in the microwave) - everything will be ready for 4.5-5 hours at this rate
