Hello, good people, please tell me about Boshik. I bought a combine harvester for the first time in my life, I was lucky and managed to grab all 4 nozzles in the citylink - a medium grater, julienne, fries and for potato pancakes. Today I was preparing a swimmer and a soup and there was a need to use the julienne attachment. Yes, by the way, they were from 8 in the citylink. Everything fits perfectly with the cube. Question about work. It was painful for the harvester to trot when he cut the carrots. Is this normal for this drive? And it was felt how the speed was falling, the carrots were over and he accelerated. I ran my finger over the knives on the disc, well, somehow they did not seem sharpened to me, I would say they are not sharpened at all. But the carrot went fine, I would say quickly, but still ... It turns out that we press on one side of the disk, in general, with effort, it probably turns out to be imbalanced and skewed and therefore shaking? Well, although I did not press with fanaticism, neatly. In the course of rotation, the carrots rested against the sidewall of the upper compartment and rubbed obliquely. Straws are nothing like that. but I thought it would be bigger. It looks like a Korean one with an interference. But that's just right for the soup. For pilaf, I would also cut it with my hands a little larger. But in Boshik it is fast.

Cabbage on a medium grater ... I don't even know, I'm used to cutting a little larger, that is, between medium and large cuts, judging by Boshik. I now live in the Krasnodar Territory, the dacha is here and the locals, neighbors, just love and notice many here, chop cabbage finely enough. That is, almost one to one as an average.
Deruny and fries have not tried yet.

Serg22 congratulations on a successful purchase! Let the assistant please !!!
Thank you!
Honestly, I have been cooking for many years and, as it were, I was an opponent of combines. Didn't believe in them. Perhaps the negative from the first technique, back in the 80-90s. I didn't think that my beloved Boshik would become very beloved. So far a couple of weeks, but I'm delighted with it. Of course, I would prefer to cut Olivier into slices, but this size of a cube is very, very even nothing. With joy, on the first day of purchase in the evening I crumbled as much as 3 kilograms of salads. I live here 1, I am building and a salad for two with an assistant builder flew away quickly.
The potatoes were young and the infection boiled down in the MV to mashed potatoes. I chose the peel and puree. The second time I cooked it in a saturated salt solution. Super, chilled from morning to evening and in a cube cutter. Everything is fine.

Serg22!
Congratulations on your purchase! Let it work for your joy! This is such a good machine that I can't imagine how I once did without it! Regarding potatoes for salad - you have MB - steam it. How much I cook, it never boils! Directly into a double boiler potatoes, carrots and eggs. In 10 minutes. take out the eggs, and after another 10 and potatoes with carrots. I send them, like eggs, immediately into cold water. And when they cool down - for an hour or two in the refrigerator. And then we cut and there will never be porridge! 🔗

Thank you!
I have a question about potatoes in a double boiler. In Panas I made 1 time pair of cubes. I didn't like the bitter taste of the potatoes. Or I don't even know how to describe it. In short, the smack. Here it is in my head that I probably need to rinse the potatoes thoroughly from the starch after cutting into cubes. There is a suspicion that it must have tasted from him.
Prus - 2
And you do the opposite - boil the potatoes in their uniforms in a double boiler for 20 - 25 minutes. (I cook in Panas for 25 minutes). Then put it in cold water to cool down, then briefly in the refrigerator. And then peel and cut into cubes. And no dancing with tambourines and foreign tastes! What I like about this type of cooking is that the potatoes are not "snotty" under the skin, and even a large one is cooked evenly - both outside and in the middle!
Alenky
Sergei! Lyuba is right! the potatoes must be chilled! If I know that tomorrow I need potatoes, I just do not cook it for a couple, and until morning in the refrigerator, then it is diced perfectly! Here, at the beginning, the topics were written!

Oh, do you have something to show the difference between carrots cut "in Korean" and grated on a medium grater? I would be grateful I have an average one, it suits me perfectly, so I'm thinking whether it's worth buying a disc-julienne ...

My cartoon broke, I bought a pressure cooker without a steamer instead. I'm not going to buy any, I want a silicone flower, but I haven't met it yet. Therefore, the raw potatoes were cut into cubes and simply cooked in a saucepan on the stove. After boiling min. 3-5, tasted it. There was a lot of starch foam. I didn't feel any aftertaste. She pulled it out with a slotted spoon directly into the salad. Delicious.

Wasp, I have a julienne disc. I did not see any difference in the slicing between him and the medium grater. I even regretted the purchase. 800 rubles was a pity.

The difference turned out to be there, but it is probably for aesthetes in cooking. In principle, the julienne will be more beautiful and more correct to cut for some kind of soups, dishes with vegetables, where they float in a heap when served in broth, for example, baking. Or putting vegetables on top of the main product. Purely visual.
The carrots were cut into 3 pieces. The middle part went on a grater, thick on the julienne and the top was laid flat for maximum cutting length.
I bought julienne for 590 rubles. The average cost 480. So I think, maybe I should have bought 2 averages, for a reserve. Since he is the most frequent in work. Julien bought it simply out of greed.
And here are the pictures:
I start with a medium grater top and side view.

But what remains on the disks after work. There are much more lumps on the disc.

Bosch food processor - cuts into cubes!

Debriefing. Julien gives a rectangular strip, the edges are different. The thickness of the edge is thinner in comparison with the grater. Visually, in some dishes, it will look more beautiful. But we are not talking about an ideal bar with equal edges. Maybe you need to push hard on the carrots, but it's a pity for the technique. Although why the julienne should rub the bars, the engineers' idea was probably not about the bar. I saw in the pictures dishes with such a cut, stripes, they look very beautiful.
Placing carrots and other foods flat, along the entire length of the loader, makes very sense.
For pilaf, I would probably choose a grater. A bar is more like a bar. Faster, less waste and less shaking.
The bottom line. If there is no julienne disc at home, do not grieve. Better to start by buying a medium grater. Julien, so in the appendage, if you get caught and money is not a pity. Shoby was.

A little about the free disk. I have a Tefal FZ 7000 Actifry air fryer, tried to cut potatoes of different thicknesses. For this device, a fries disc is not suitable, unless someone likes dried, crispy potatoes. Better to cut at least a centimeter. I suspect the fries are probably for a classic deep fryer.

ps The experiment involved: Combine BOSCH MCM5529, discs Disc-grater / shredder BOSCH MUZ8KP1 and Disc for Julienne BOSCH MUZ8AG1.Not a single animal was injured during the experiment. The carrots were damaged.

How detailed everything is! Thank you very much! It's good that the fingers did not suffer during cutting))) Therefore, I abandoned the graters, and even from Berner (I will not cut myself when cutting, so I will definitely hook the blade when washing). I have all the attachments (for dough, whisk, fries, medium grater, grater for potato pancakes), except for this disc. Now, with a clear conscience, I will rub on a grater, I hardly see the difference in the photo. If you really, really itch - on the market for 30 rubles. buy a chinese grater
ktl
Hello ! There was a question about buying a combine ..
And while reading the topic I got more and more confused and decided to just ask))
Doesn't the dice cutter fit the MCM5540? the service said no .. that only fits 5529
What kind of pads on the bottom of the bowl are we talking about (so that the bottom does not scratch)? where to get them, etc., etc.
What kind of grater will rub raw potatoes for me so that it looks like Korean carrots that are usually sold in stores - by an order of magnitude thicker than a back? and is it real at all?
I asked the SC for the price of a grater for the cubes - they said 800r. (A little expensive), and then I read that graters from other series are also suitable, while it is simple to have a different price and packaging .. is this so and which series is more profitable to take then?
I would be very grateful if you could help me figure it out) Since I am not used to making such purchases spontaneously ..)

ps. I really hope to chop the slightly frozen chicken fillet into cubes and even possibly meat - upset me or please those who had experience)
in the chopper, as I understand it, should the meat be carefully cleaned from veins? I'm already afraid because I had the experience in two weeks to ditch the donated vitesse blender with not very sinewy meat - the thicket cracked .. is this possible or can you be bolder?

1) Does the dice cutter fit the MCM5540 combine? YES! Fits perfect!
2) What kind of pads on the bottom of the bowl are we talking about (so that the bottom does not scratch)? Pictures below, expand the list.
3) What grater will rub raw potatoes for me with cubes, an order of magnitude thicker than a match? it seems like there is no such attachment ...
4) I asked the SC for the price of a grater for the cubes - they said 800r. Uh-huh, expensive The ideal option is to buy a used Bosch 5540, as I actually did. There will be all the attachments, except for the disc for Korean carrots (but provided that the disc for potato pancakes comes with a 5529m harvester - I had it in a box).
5) Should the meat be carefully cleaned from veins? Yes, the veins are wound on knives, and in a cube cutter it is so vaapche tavo ... I tried to cut the whole boiled pork heart, everything got stuck, it took a long time to pick it out.

Diced boiled beef and boiled chicken. The flight is normal. I got a little stuck, but then I got a cucumber, a carrot and everything is fine. I tried to cut meat into jellied meat. Ears and legs were cut badly. Smeared and stuck. But just boiled meat was cut well. Only then it is necessary to drive away at least the raw potato. So that it was not so dreary to clean the knives.

Wasp!!!!!!!!!!! You made me the happiest person !!!!! My Bosch 5540 is almost 5 years old! I suffered so much for the cube cutter! And then I came across your post! Thank you very much!!!!!!!!
Take a close look at the bowl of the combine, someone wrote that it may not fit on the old bowls, there are grooves on the new ones! I have a 2011 harvester suitable!
ktl
Thank you very much for the detailed answers!
There is one more thing left to find out ..) 5540 interested me in a juicer for fruits and vegetables .. Does it really squeeze an apple and a carrot or is it better to have a separate device for such a case? (juices are far from every day we need - so, sometimes indulge ... well, in the fall, when apples need to be attached)

Alya You can buy both a bowl and a cube cutter. Honestly, I didn't think that it might not fit, I just inserted it and crumbled it ... By the way, how can I find out the production date by the serial number? I took it from my hands, no documents and boxes have survived.
Ktl, what prevents to buy a used cube cutter or a whole combine? I recently bought a Bosch 5529 for my friend for 2000r on Avito, almost unused, it will come from day to day (300r for delivery to my city).

PS Boshik has arrived! Some of the discs are generally in their original packaging, it looks like they only used a blender

This year I again used a rubbing attachment: I separated raspberries and strawberries from the seeds, excellent, cooked jelly (eat right away, not for canning) and for freezing (grinded, then + then changed the attachment to a knife + sugar, whipped it into the freezer. (raspberries immediately, and immediately cut strawberries in a blender for a couple of seconds).
there is still a couple ahead, tomatoes are for rubbing.

Good day. Dnyukha is approaching, so I want a gift for myself - a cube, I am tormented with a choice between 5529RU and MCM68885, and so far I can’t decide. The main function of the combine will be a shredder and a grater, and of course the cubes))). Therefore, the question arises - how do these units cope with raw solid vegetables, I am interested in grating and cutting beets into cubes (in principle, I only want it because of her, I’m very tired of constantly rubbing beetroot salads by hand). If you have experience with fresh beets, share how the cubes and grater cope with it. I will be very grateful!

Girls! Many thanks to all :)! It seems that I have it like a proverb: "If there was no happiness, but misfortune helped." In 2009 or even 2010, I dropped the combine bowl, and the groove on the side, which goes into the motor part and allows switching on, broke off. The bowl had to be changed. And now I have this! Seems to fit :).

I don’t want to use it for the reason that there is no guarantee that the combine with malfunctions will not slip in or that it will not be closed in the near future .. + there is little chance that it will be under warranty (and the availability of the warranty period helped me out more than once) .. and I just don't like used technique.
I understand that the main minus of the cube is that there are few nozzles, but the cube cutter costs from three to four thousand. Is it not possible to buy the same hooks for less money for kneading the dough? and are they needed? I probably don't .. since I don't often fiddle with the dough and kneading yeast with my hands in 15 minutes is not at all difficult, I make dumplings no more than two or three times a year, and you can beat pancakes and pancakes in a blender with a chopper knife, but what else is not there? for julienne nozzle what does it do? how to see everything so clearly .. you must probably look for a video on the internet .. I just want to order a meat grinder on arrival Zelmer 986.84-she rubs and shreds there, etc. (out of town now, unfortunately, my hands are itching to buy equipment)
I am very worried about bars such as Korean store carrots, plump or even a little thicker, but I understand that I can't see them and there are no such graters)))

You really need a medium grater at most. As if the most popular grater-shredder.

Grater vs Meat Grinder Zelmer

Korean carrot grater. I'm afraid she's too big for the house.

Here's another one and another. These two, as I understand it, have a different principle. And it seems like the straws are different. What is in the video above is the most correct principle of action for a campaign.

Here is another not very successful grater principle, where the disk most likely rotates. The straws are small and short.

I understand that you can really grate carrots like this only on similar units, which are in the first video.

I understand that the main disadvantage of the cube is that there are few nozzles
Exactly a year has passed since my Bosch-cube appeared, and two weeks later, as additional attachments appeared. In addition to the centrifugal juicer and grater for potato pancakes, I managed to try everything. I can make a small subtotal:
1) a medium grater is great for carrots, and after a recent photo review of the disc, Julienne realized that I didn't need the latter,
2) I don’t understand how to knead the dough with hooks, with a knife (Kubik has it) is more convenient, and even better - in KhP (I bake a lot, I also need a lot of dough),
3) a disc for fries is great for making soups (potatoes) and stewed vegetables (zucchini, eggplants), but it can also be diced into soup - it looks interesting, uniform,
4) the whisk is an interesting thing, it beats up butter for a cake very well, I didn't have time to try it on proteins ... instead of it, the disc-emulsifier in the Cube beats eggs well.
In principle, you can live with the basic equipment, but I personally liked the two graters (medium and fries)! I took a used harvester because I only needed graters, and in the photo they were in unopened factory bags - the former owner only used a blender. In terms of finance, it turned out to be more profitable.
ktl
Thank you, Wasp!) The video of the battle between the meat grinder and the grater is very positive) the meat grinder won for me))) but of course, if we are talking about one carrot and one onion, then the grater rules, although my eyes no longer look at it)
And at the expense of the need for julienne and the average I made conclusions for myself .. By the way, the average seemed to me more beautiful than julienne .. if it were larger, it would be what I needed (carrots in Korean) (in our family we love salad from semi-raw potatoes - "kamdi-cha" and you have to cut potatoes on a hand grater-like mini french fries)

I have not bought any additional graters yet. I only have what came in the kit. I am strict on borscht. On a fine grater carrots, beets, zucchini, eggplants, on large onions and an apple (all for frying), on a shredder - cabbage. For one potato I do not install a cube cutter (wash too lazy), so I crush it with handles. Accordingly, I still do it for the vegetable stew. And it's also cool to cut everything into cubes on a stew.
For vegetable salads with cabbage and grated the cabbage itself on a coarse grater.
In a blender, beat cocktails with berries and banana.
I used a shredder to cut zucchini and bake it with cheese and tomatoes. She used to cut zucchini for salad according to the recipe.
Potatoes for frying - no way (you need to buy a special grater), and for stewing - in cubes.
For my sister, I ground cookies in a large bowl with a knife for sweet sausages.
I kneaded the sweet dough on a cake with a knife and a whisk all around. The dough was different in the first case, steep, in the second thinner.

1) Soup.In the chicken broth or the lean version - in water with 10 chopped mushrooms - put: "cubed" potatoes, carrots or "cubes" or grated on a coarse grater, onions - or first in half with a knife and then in half rings on a shredder disc or again "cubes" ), add bay leaf, black peppercorns, salt, cook for 10 minutes after boiling, then add either noodles or washed rice if desired - and cook for 15 minutes more. Throw in the chopped greens and 2-3 finely chopped cloves of garlic, let stand for minutes 5 under a closed lid. The simplest soup is ready!
2) Borsch - similar to soup, only cut the beetroot and bell pepper into cubes and chop the cabbage on a shredder disk (large or small - you choose).
3) Pork with potatoes and vegetables. We chop onions, carrots, zucchini, tomatoes (they can be cut coarsely by 1/8 with a knife), potatoes on a cube cutter. Put it in a slow cooker in this order: onions, carrots, chopped meat, salt and pepper, you can put spices, now potatoes, zucchini, tomatoes, salt and pepper again, you can sprinkle with herbs. Pilaf or Quenching mode 1.5-2 hours (MV Panasonic 18). Pilaf can be forcibly turned off after 2 hours if it has not ended. Someone likes to put a few tablespoons of sour cream on top 15 minutes before the end.
4) "Summer" vegetables with beans. Soak red beans in cold water overnight. Rinse it in the morning. Cut into cubes or on a 3mm shredder: onions, potatoes, cabbage, zucchini (or eggplant - for an amateur), tomatoes, carrots, bell peppers (but I don't like to add it), add a few cloves of garlic, 1-2 tablespoons of sunflower oil, salt , spices. Simmer for 1.5-2 hours.
5) All kinds of salads - this is already chop / chop whatever your heart desires!
6) Omelet with sausages and cheese. Arrange sausage slices and cheese slices in a multicooker bowl in one layer, put on Frying / Baking. Meanwhile, put an emulsifier disc into the bowl of the combine and beat 2-3 eggs with Adyghe (aromatic) salt without dividing into white and yolk. Pour sausages, put on Steam for 10 minutes.
7) Baking, especially biscuits. Choose a biscuit dough recipe, and beat the proteins with an emulsifier disc. It turns out cool and fast! And powdered sugar for sprinkling baked goods can be ground in a blender. I also grind the lemon peel and nuts for the cake in a blender.
8) Milkshake: in a blender, beat cold milk + ice cream + fruit juice (+ chocolate + cinnamon + ...)
9) Mashed potatoes. Pass the boiled potatoes through a grater for berries (someone uses a grater for potato pancakes, but it is not in the basic set). Empty bowl, insert utility knife. Return the potatoes to the bowl, add salt and milk, stir until smooth. Delicate, awesome puree! Does not tan and does not stratify into thick and water in the refrigerator for 4 days.
