Now I'm thinking, can I try to cook beef tongues in a cartoon?

Why think? What's in the way?
Ikra

Ikra, I'm glad that you liked the result. But, in my opinion, there are too many "dances" at the beginning. For Yoghurt, the temperature should be 40-42 degrees. much, of course, depends on the initial temperature of the product. Did you put in jars or did you immediately do it in a bowl? Do you have a thermometer?
There is no thermometer. Therefore, I was afraid to overheat. I thought that if 6 hours are not enough, nothing terrible will happen, I will wait until the end of the process for some more time. There are many dances, it's true I set myself a timer for 20 minutes.
It's just that today suddenly turned out to be a free day, and at first, I can't leave the multicooker, I haven't played enough yet
Then I'll try to simplify the process somehow. Maybe I'll buy a thermometer. Probably suitable for which the temperature in baby baths is measured?
I did it right away in the bowl - I was afraid in the jars, because I hadn't figured out what to put under them, in the absence of a silicone mat.
Or I'll splurge on some Tupperware cups - there are lids, they shouldn't scratch. In general, things are up to the neck

Ikra, not everything is so scary ... Under the jars, you can lay gauze or cloth simply folded in several layers. You can try to determine the temperature by hand. (In ancient times, when bathing a child, the water in the bathtub was touched with an elbow, the sensitivity is higher than that of a finger). Of course, sticking your elbow in the cartoon is not very convenient, but for the sake of experiment, in order to roughly measure the time it takes for the water to heat up to about 400 you can play around, and then you will know. Too often run to the cartoon after 20 minutes. Panasik works very well as a thermos, and I would not "periodically" turn on the heating earlier than in 2 hours. On the whole, I wish you success in mastering.

Ikra
Only my husband knows how to measure the temperature with my finger. He is a professional photographer, and he touched the developer-fixer in a dark darkroom.
I will try to simplify the process. Moreover, the "blacks" yesterday destroyed all the yogurt-beefelife.

Why think? What's in the way?

dopleta, tongues (pork) does not clean, only scrapes a little. The beef skin is thick, but I wanted to first "fry", and only then put on stewing, according to the principle of cooking boiled pork. And in terms of time it is not entirely clear how long it takes to get soft?

Until Sonadora no, I can get in ...Tutochki Sonadora wrote about her version of "Zebra" in a multicooker (judging by the signature of the multicooker is large, the volume of the saucepan is 4.5 liters.)
Sonadora
Crochet,

In a small saucepan with these proportions of ingredients, would there be a problem baking when the bottom starts to burn and the middle is still soggy?

Mowgli, turned the cupcake hot, no problem, cooled the curd casserole in a saucepan.

It is better not to leave in the form, well, perhaps for 10 minutes. Then, with the help of a double boiler, take it out and let it cool on a wire rack or on the double boiler itself.
Rina
if the cake is taken very hot, it still has a weak structure. If you allow to lie down while slowly cooling to a grip temperature (but high enough), then the structure will strengthen, and the damp surface will dry out safely during complete cooling. Here you need a trial and error method - which cupcakes require such a rest in a saucepan, and which do not.

I have been with multi- and rice cookers not the first day, nevertheless ... recently I thought about being able to cook something in a water bath. Note, not on the steam, but on the water. This need is associated with two reasons: first - the saucepan of a simple rice cooker began to peel off godlessly (there is not a Teflon coating, but some kind of thin enamel); the second - I need to cook very small quantities, sometimes even in a pressure cooker (and there the minimum is a liter). My saucepans have no steaming baskets. In general, the idea arose to cook in a water bath. And then another thought came in - they say, you need to cook not in metal dishes, so that the coating does not damage in normal pots. What does that mean? That's right - you need to cook in silicone molds. In order to cook in water, the silicone mold must be high, at least the height and diameter must be comparable. And then I was pushed with the fact that such forms are rare! Easter has passed and the cake molds are already sold out, only one type of pudding mold was found, but it has a complex geometry ... With great difficulty I found a set of cake molds, ordered, received. Three sizes, height correlates with diameter. And here on the market I come across the last two tall forms! The grasp reflex worked.

Today was a try number of times. I cook chicken dumplings for a relative - in a blender I beat peeled chicken meat, add soaked bread, salt, a little pepper, water so that the mass is such that it does not really hold its shape, but does not flow yet. I dip such a mass into boiling water with two spoons (I pick up with one spoon, push with the other). In general, about 300 grams of cooked minced meat remained in the blender. I took a small cake mold, greased the inside with butter, put in all the dumplings.I poured boiling water from a kettle into a saucepan of a small rice cooker, put a mold in the water, turned on cooking, closed it with a lid on top (the edges of the mold just reached the lid). This water bath boiled for about 20 minutes, then I changed it to keep worm. How long the saucepan was in this mode, I can't say. I determined readiness by feeling the minced chicken with my finger. Left to cool in the turned off saucepan. After about an hour I took out a mold, in a small amount of the released broth a good round "sausage" 9 cm in diameter, about the same height. The child said it was very tasty! This is despite the fact that he always refused to eat these chicken dumplings!

So, the idea with molds paid off. One of these days I will try some milk porridge.

Alyona, I wrote specifically about cooking in a sufficiently voluminous form and in the absence of a double boiler. If you need small portions and there is a steam basket, then the issue is solved even easier - Steamed Chicken Muffins

I only have a cartoon for a couple of days, I try, experiment.
I can't understand how to cook in the Stew mode: I stewed potatoes with sour cream from the recipe book - the potatoes were not cooked at all (I was finishing it in the Soup / Steamer mode). It's the same with vegetables - the food is just warmed up. How then to stew meat?

Does it make sense to cook semolina in a slow cooker? It does not require long cooking. The main rules: observe the proportions, pour cereals with sugar and salt in an even stream while stirring into boiling milk, quickly bring (stirring) to a boil again, turn off so that the porridge reaches its condition in 10-15 minutes (again stirring occasionally).
Ikra
Rina, and my milk always (!) Runs away. So I hoped that in the cartoon you could throw everything, turn it on, and not look in that direction until Naivenaya calls ... What? The other day I myself got this very saucepan. Tomorrow I'll try it on multigrain flakes. The quality of milk has recently become such that one cannot expect normal behavior from this very milk. So we get out so as not to stand over the soul of the saucepan on the stove.

I don't know, maybe this is out of place here ...
Why only in boiling milk?
everything is very simple. If you pour semolina into a cold liquid, then the protein and starch dissolve and the porridge becomes too homogeneous, it turns out rather jelly, as for my taste. When falling asleep in boiling milk, the protein contained in the semolina instantly curls up, then it is porridge that is obtained, in which the cereal is preserved.

my husband from childhood brought out a completely terrible disgust for semolina (as I am for milk froth Reviews of multicooker. Tips and reviews of multicooker. Multicooker recipes). So he even tasted my semolina porridge and swallowed it! And he admitted that if he had been fed such porridge as a child, then it would not have caused him disgust.

In the morning a cup of such porridge, you run until lunchtime - nourishing, healthy, you don't feel like eating, and the porridge is homemade!
And the best semolina porridge is still obtained "without haste", if you cook it in a milk cooker - my opinion!

And my opinion is that different cereals are needed, different cereals are important - if you cook them well, and alternate daily from different cereals, and do not abuse basins

Ikra
