Advantages:
Design, excellent sensor, ceramic bowl with handles, the ability to change the time on all programs, drip tray, etc.
Disadvantages:
No delayed start on the multi-cook program in the 2013 model
I read reviews for different models for a long time.
In general, I stopped at Polaris PMC 0517AD. DEX DMC65 considered her as a competitor. Their functionality is almost the same.
In one of the stores there was a special offer - a spare ceramic bowl was given as a gift to the Polaris multicooker
DEX was given ice cream
But since my kitchen is made in black tones, this predetermined my choice on the black-metal Polaris.
The price for them was the same - 999 UAH (122 $) or about 4000 rubles.
The sensor works fine, comments are probably written by those who do not have a touchscreen mobile phone. And there is no need to poke with wet fingers or press with all you can - a light touch, that's what you need.
Programs are switched "in a circle", but on the market almost all multicooker is arranged this way, believe me, I poked more than a dozen multicooker in stores. And for those who complain that every time they press the buttons, they squeak disgustingly, then press the buttons and do not let go - the switching will occur silently
Great ceramic bowl with handles! I have not yet met such bowls with handles! in any multicooker in this price segment on the market. By the way, exactly the same cup was a gift. They are also sold separately in stores - about $ 30
By the way, there are 2 types of bowls for this multicooker, regardless of the year of manufacture. The difference is in the bottom - in one bowl it is absolutely smooth, and in the other it is rough. When I bought I chose in the store with a smooth bottom, it's easier to wash. (the gift bowl also comes with a smooth bottom, made in Korea)
In general, there really are 2 varieties of this model - 2012 and 2013.
Since 2013, they began to write "New" on the box, this is the 2013 model.
Instructions for them on the Polaris website-
🔗One manual for 2 models - from 1 to 23 pages - for a 2013 model, from 24 to 46 pages - for a 2012 model
- The difference in 2 modes - in 2012 - dessert and crust, in 2013 - plav and jam.
- Difference in Delayed Start function
- in the 2012 model, the timer can only be set to 5 automatic
programs (Steaming, Beans, Dessert, Stewing and Soup) and
multicooking!
- in the 2013 model, the timer can be set to 14 automatic
programs (except Pasta and heating), but you cannot use a multi-cook!
Although the instructions indicate this function as available, but in practice
it is definitely NOT possible to set a timer on the Multipovar!
This is considered a significant disadvantage for some cooking enthusiasts!
- in the 2013 model, the cooking time can be changed for ALL! programs
- in the 2012 model, it cannot be changed on Baking (50 min), Krupe (25 min), Heating (20 min)
- the difference is in the latches that hold the inner cover. On the old model, these latches did not interfere with closing the lid, in the new 2013 model, the latches themselves, when closing, catch the bowl itself and slightly interfere with the closure. That is, you have to move the bowl constantly forward before closing. Why change the latch mechanism is a mystery to me !!!
Now thoughts out loud:
- Condensation, when the lid is suddenly opened, can really probably get under the bowl on the heating element. But I always open smoothly, holding the lid and the condensation perfectly drips from the lid onto the sides and then flows into the drip tray. The truth does not drain all, part of it just drops on the sides.
The option is to either wipe them with napkins, or tilt the multicooker back and let the drops drain into the drip tray.
It is necessary to open carefully, as you can scald with steam, in principle, as in all multicooker.
- The quality of plastic and workmanship is normal. After boiling a bowl of lemon, the smell was gone.
“The yogurt cups smelled because they were covered. In 15 minutes after removing the covers, the smell was gone.
- The legs are really slippery, you need to glue something. But now on almost all multicooker there are such LEGS, so you should not consider this a disadvantage of this particular model
- When you turn on the network and turn off the programs, the network indicator constantly blinks red. Here I did not understand the developers at all - this "morgun" really strains the eyes, you have to remove the cord from the network all the time.
- There are many negative reviews on the network about the mechanism for closing the lid. I think this is due to the lid opening too abruptly. The manufacturer has installed a spring that is too strong. The solution is simple - just hold the lid when opening with your hand, and not let it "shoot" itself
- Ability to open the lid (manipulate while cooking)
- The removable inner part of the multicooker lid can be easily removed and washed;
- Containers for making yoghurt as a gift
- Excellent top valve design. There are no moving or rotating parts, which means there is nothing to fall out while opening the lid. The valve itself can be easily removed and washed if necessary. In the same DEX 65, right in the store, upon examination, the valve itself immediately fell to the floor. In Saturn 9181, this valve dangles on "snot". The same applies to the large number of multicooker with flimsy valves.
- I have already cooked on many programs - so far no problems. Someone wrote that he cooks oatmeal for a long time and people, without waiting, turn off the multicooker and eat it as it is. You just don't wait for the end of the program. A slow boil goes on for about half an hour, and only then the countdown of 5 minutes of the program itself begins. Especially watched constantly opening the lid.
And now a little about the speed of cooking in multicooker. A week ago I bought a Saturn 9181 multicooker-pressure cooker. I managed to cook a little in it.
But since it was announced by the manufacturer about the presence of a delayed start on all programs, but in fact it turned out to be only 4, and absolutely unnecessary, then the multicooker was safely handed over to the store.
As it turned out, the pressure cooker absolutely does not cook faster. Since it takes time (30-40 minutes depending on the program) to build up pressure. And after cooking, you have to wait 10 minutes for the pressure to drop and you can open the lid.
That is, if the soup is cooked in Polaris for 1 hour, and the time for boiling water is included in this hour. Then in Saturn 35 minutes the pressure is built up, only then the cooking time counts down for 10 minutes, and after another 10 minutes we wait until the pressure cooker releases the pressure and it will be possible to open the lid.
The question is, where is the gain in speed? The main thing is marketing and advertising, a hundred in pressure cookers everything is very fast (that is, the same soup is only 10 minutes!)
And the main drawback of pressure cookers is that you cannot open the lid during cooking - that is, do not salt, taste, add ingredients, or just watch how it works!
