Accidentally came across this Temko and decided to share my experience. In an ordinary saucepan, beets are cooked for 1.5 hours, putting them in a tied bag in the microwave, it will cook in half an hour (my power, if I'm not mistaken, 600 watts, average power), the only negative ... Oh, how beets shrink, but they taste nothing does not differ ... Note for those who have little time to cook or quickly figure out a salad for dinner.

The downside is painfully significant.
I chop the beets into cubes and then boil them in a microwave steamer along with the rest of the crumbled raw ingredients for the salad. Boil in 15 minutes.

Thalia, what kind of dishes are you cooking in? In a special plastic saucepan with a lid? I do not have a special pan for the micra, so I'm specifying.
I have a lot of different volumes of pots specially for the micra ... the largest one is 4.5 liters .. Then the other day I wanted to buy a 5 liter one while I went to another department of the supermarket and she already got cold .. very rarely there are big ones ... but in they are very convenient to cook and do not boil over and stir. When I bought the first one, I bought a small saucepan and the largest one, and over the years they bought all of them with flat lids, too, glass transparent, they can be used as plates.

Strange ... the power is 900, I reduce it by 70%, but only 7 minutes ... and not even in a bag, but just under the lid

Or do you have a different variety, or a very large beet? Mine with an average apple ...

if the beets are shrinking, then the power is incorrectly selected ... I always make beets for salads in the microscope.

And in my beetroot with an average apple is cooked in 2.5-3 minutes, in a package, at a capacity of 800
By the way, so that it does not "shrink", but "reaches" faster, you need to cool it after boiling by pouring cold water.

Girls, tell us how you cook beets in the microwave for 7 minutes?
Natalia K.
Anyut, I clean the beets in a bag and cook at full power for 7-8 minutes. But only the beets should be average
dopleta
I am in a small glass saucepan with a lid (though it will rattle slightly), pouring literally 1-2 cm of water to the bottom.

I also brought it from the network:

1. To refresh the aroma of ground spices and seasonings, heat them at full power for thirty seconds.

2. If you wrap stale bread in a paper towel and heat it at full power for one minute, the bread will feel fresh again.

3. Almonds are easy to clean if you put them in boiling water and heat them for thirty seconds at full power.

4. Walnuts are easy to peel by heating them in water for four to five minutes at full power.

5. An orange or grapefruit can be easily peeled from the white flesh if heated for thirty seconds at full power.

6. In the microwave, you can quickly and easily dry the zest of oranges and grapefruits.
Place it on paper towels and heat at full power for two minutes. Stir the zest while heating.
After cooling, it becomes dry and brittle. Store dried rind in a tightly sealed container.

7. The microwave oven will help to squeeze the juice from a lemon or orange almost to a drop, even with very thick citrus peels. Heat the fruit in the microwave for a few minutes, let it cool and you can easily squeeze the juice out of it.

8. In the microwave you can dry greens, vegetables, as well as crackers and nuts for the winter.

9. You can melt the candied honey in 1-2 minutes.

10. In the microwave, you can knock out the stubborn smell from the cutting boards - they need to be washed, grated with lemon and "fried" in the microwave.
dopleta
And immediately your comment on point 2 - the bread will freshen up, but very quickly it will grow thick!

And I put the beets in a microwave saucepan with a lid, pour literally a few tablespoons of water and go! It brews very quickly and it turns out very tasty. This is if I need it very quickly! And if I just need tasty, then I cook it in a double boiler (tefal).

And I liked the idea of boiling vegetables for the Caprice salad, which can be peeled, chopped, in the microwave in a double boiler. So, can all the vegetables be mixed at once?

If the salad is not layered, but will be mixed during the cooking process, such as Olivier, you can cook all the vegetables together.

Anya, I cook directly in the peel (only, of course, I wash it with a brush first), and I look at the time, because the beets are different in size and quality. I always peel the beets. Without any water, I put it in a transparent glass saucepan, if for a vinaigrette, then a carrot ... and put it on a power of 600 for 25 minutes ... I always make about a kilogram of beets. Since a family of five and everyone loves beets and drag the salad from under their hands in time for cutting. Juice is released during cooking. I usually drain it.

Today on TV on Channel One in the morning program they showed this method of preparing a portion of pasta:

- pour a portion of pasta into a bowl (there were some shells),
- pour some water (the pasta was not covered),
- put in the microwave for 2 minutes,
- take out and mix,
- put it in the microwave again for 2 minutes,
- take out, pour half a glass of milk and sprinkle with grated cheese (zhmenka),
- put in the microwave for 1 minute
- take out and eat

It turns out 5 minutes of time in the microwave and a portion of pasta, probably delicious. We must try.

Do you need to close the saucepan?

In my instructions for the microwave, it says: "Do not turn on the oven when it is empty. When not in use, it is recommended to put a glass of water in it. If you accidentally turn on the oven, the water will safely absorb all microwave energy.".
I ask because my parents were cooking popcorn in a closed glass saucepan and at some minute a glass dish, which was spinning, exploded in them, the saucepan remained intact. The service center said this because you can't use it without moisture, well, or something like that, I can't remember literally.

CLOSE MANDATORY !!!!! : bravo: For this, all microwave pans have flat lids. We regularly make popcorn always with the lid closed

We heat a cereal heating pad in it (this is about 700 grams of pearl barley sewn into a cotton fabric). You warm for 4-6 minutes - and under a blanket (cool house) - it keeps warm up to 4 hours, does not flow.

You can also use such a heating pad for warming up for colds, tracheitis, on the nose with a runny nose, put a bowl of yeast dough on the heating pad, and the like.

yes, I clean everything ... and I have readiness to light firmness, if I may say so. That I would not limp in my hands. Because sometimes you need to cut it with a knife for a salad and sometimes grate it ... like our favorite salad with garlic cheese and mayonnaise.

My children were preparing popcorn in the microwave, I don't know what happened there (I was not at home), but they ruined the new microwave! I could not clean it, everything is yellow inside.
And in the microwave I cook both the first and second, meat and vegetable dishes. I bake muffins and biscuits, I use a double boiler, and much more. I have a microwave without any special bells and whistles, now I have unloaded it a little, because a multicooker and a pressure cooker have appeared.

Lika, and I've made popcorn in the microwave many times. I didn't buy corn, my grandmother lived in the Kuban and grew it herself (she made it in a frying pan back in the 70-80s for us). So I had this corn for many years ... until I bought a microwave and read that you can make popcorn there. So I did this all the time: into a saucepan, sprinkle it with sunflower oil a little and add it, cover it with a lid and go to the microwaves, and I myself watch how the saucepan becomes full, turn it off. Glass never broke ...

I have a simple micra DEU, a hundred years old for lunch (waves, grill-ten, combi, defrosting). I cook in it already chopped vegetables in cellophane bags for vinaigrette salads, it's very convenient. I reheat, defrost food and constantly cook fish for the cat without water (it is more convenient and faster than in a saucepan, since he eats, not eats, he is a lot). It didn't work out at all with the grill, the stove is small, everything is splattered with fat and it is inconvenient to wash the ten.
Now I'm arguing over what to buy new. : - Either a large-capacity microwave with a quartz grill and all the bells and whistles (convection, double boiler, crisp plate, etc.) or a tabletop electric oven (oven) - they are now also with convection, grill, spit.
I need, among other things, so that you can BAKE pies and a large closed pie, a bar, a loaf. BAKERY is of interest, since the gas oven has become an oven with quirks, and it is not expected to change the stove yet.
Please advise, how are microwaves and BAKERY friends now? I AM VERY INTERESTED IN THIS QUESTION. Or is a tabletop electric oven better for baking? So I'm more inclined to the microwave, because of the speed of cooking, but I have never baked in it, and this is what interests me now.

If you want to bake in the microwave, then you need to take it with convection. Preferably such that a square baking sheet can be inserted. I have a round one - it doesn't fit much. In mine, I have Moulinex, the middle is baked more slowly. I don't know if other stoves have this problem.
