Mirabel, Vika, of course I need it ... I recently bought my first 3.5-liter slow jar with an oval bowl, I'm very happy ... unusual. The duck is also only there. On the way, a Chinese monster, I'll cook jellied meat in it ..

AllegraSveta,, She cannot spend a lot of electricity in any way. I, today, with a fresh mind counted-20 cents is 1 kW of electric with us, I don't think so. which is not much more in France. If her slow one eats about 350 watts, then in 9 hours it will be a little more than 3 kW. it's not even 1 euro. Something aunt was mistaken ... and so many praise so much.
Natalia, And what is your oval shape? And whether a small duck or part of a turkey (a leg for example) will fit there
And what kind of Chinese monster? With Ali? I looked there, so pretty ... but the delivery to us .. horrible. how expensive is it

The algorithm of work of a slow-running machine, like an iron, does not heat up in a constant mode, only in the heating stage.
The oval 3.5 liter includes pork shank up to 1.5 kg, chicken up to 1.8 kg. The weight is approximate - since if you need to cook large portions, I cook in a 6.5 liter bowl.

Vika, I have 3.5 liters. oval - CROCK-POT, duck up to 1.8 kg., whole chicken up to 1.6 kg., turkey legs 2 pcs. medium size.

What a delight you ordered! I would also like to be completely ceramic, but ... probably I will still buy it in Europe.
And, probably, oval and something seems to me that the small size will satisfy me.
Thanks for the info!

To save a little on electricity and speed up the boiling, first I warm up the ceramic bowl with hot water from the tap, that is, pour water and let it stand for a while. If you then heat it up with boiling water from a kettle, then it will boil even faster.

Thank you for the interesting forum, I read the first 50 pages with enthusiasm, then I realized that I couldn’t master 252 pages, and began to scroll through 10 pages, so excuse me if something was already discussed, but I missed it. This question haunts me. I have two devices: a Redmond multicooker and a rice cooker. MVD, as I understand it, is also a cross between a thermos and a stove, more like a rice cooker than a multicooker. The Ministry of Internal Affairs is such a pot in which cooking = languor. In fact, with enough enthusiasm, this can be done on a regular stove (if the saucepan is covered with towels), and in the oven and in the airfryer. I tried to make grenadier in MV, dreaming that by the morning I would have tender fish meat with bones soft, like in canned food. The temperature was set to 80 *.
And in the morning I found out that there was a lot of water (almost an ear), the fish meat was cooked, but the bones were not.
I must say, I have already cooked homemade canned food a couple of times - in a pressure cooker, from fish fines, with tomato paste. The bones were tender. And here with this very "longing" is such a bummer.

I also cooked jellied meat in a rice cooker, bringing it to a boil and leaving it in standby mode until morning.
Aspic also turned out, and this strengthens me in the opinion that DVA should be successfully replaced by both the MV and the rice cooker.
(In the rice cooker, the standby mode is 80 *, the cooking mode is heating to boiling (more precisely, a little more cunning: not "until boiling", but "until the liquid evaporates" - if you make jellied meat, you must manually switch to standby mode, otherwise everything will boil off before automatically turning off the "cooking" mode), there are no other modes in the rice cooker.)

So here is the question, dear ladies: WHY did I not get canned food from grenadier in MV ?!
From the review on this wonderful forum, I realized that the Ministry of Internal Affairs differs from the MV and the rice cooker in that it contains

- no steam outlet (and this can be won by covering the MV or rice cooker with a foil lid or my favorite towels?),

- ceramic bowl (both of my devices have ceramic bowls),

- slow heating (this is also easy to defeat by setting the "Multipovar" mode in the MV to a temperature of 40 *, and after a couple of hours switching to the 80 * mode).

I could not see any other differences. Missing something?

She tested the low regime at the request of the workers. In the description it was written that the temperature on it was 75 *.
So, baked milk on low. Surprise ...
15.00 milk 23 *
16.00 53*
17.00 74*
18.00 84*
19.00 87*
20.00 92*
21.00 94*

Maybe my modes are mixed up in places ?? Because the instructions said that the car is less than a high, but more than a low.
But look

I tested the auto mode. My instructions say that the mode cooks faster than low, but slower than high.
So, dried fruit compote for a car.
18.00 cold water 19 *
19.00 47*
20.00 68*
21.00 78*
22.00 84*
23.00 88*
24.00 88*
01.00 88*
That is, my low is stronger. but the milk hasn't stopped yet, and it's already 6:00. worth

Well, the temperature in the rice cooker is just below 88, is that critical?

Millet is delicious, only it needs to be washed very, very well. Also steam with boiling water so that the bitterness is gone. Very often the cereal is bitter.

No need to get rid of bitterness! A little offtopic: millet is a source of vitamin B17 (if not "get rid of bitterness"). Type in a YouTube search engine "Edward Griffin," A World Without Cancer ". An interesting film about cancer prevention.

I have never seen boiling in my DVA, neither on HI, nor on LOW.

This is what worries me. Is the product sterilized enough if not brought to a boil? And then parasites, you know ... The fish can be frozen with the guarantee that the parasites and their larvae will die in - maximum - three weeks, but freezing meat is garbage for six months of freezing.
Personally, I don't trust all these food controls, corruption, you know. I prefer to freeze fish. And with meat - HOW?

Z. Y. Yesterday I put the chicken according to the recipe I read here. Two or three hours soaked it in brine, everything is as written. I put it on foil balls. I set the temperature to 70 *, the time is 12 hours, before closing the lid of the multicooker, I covered the bowl with foil so that there was no steam escape. The meat turned out really very tender, almost pate. True, it was saturated with fat (not counting the fact that there is a lot of fat under the glass of chicken). No crust formed. How do you manage to get a crust at temperatures below 100 ???
I would be grateful for your answers.

The bowl in the Ministry of Internal Affairs is a clay pot! In mdv boils, but heating is slow and boiling can be in a few hours. But more than a year has passed since the purchase of the first mdv - and my attitude towards them has not changed .. just delight.

Yes, I also cooked in banks. Only then it is necessary to pour into the plates, and the child still has to smudge the blender in order to beat .. so much dishes need to be washed. And then I beat it right in the mug with a submersible blender. Well, and more aesthetically pleasing, yes.

I cook porridge for Sibrizka 3.5 in two clay pots - one pot per eater). Flakes are best served - a simple masterpiece! It would be good to mix the groats at some point, otherwise it may not be completely steamed at the bottom. In principle, if you mix immediately after lifting, then after the shower everything is already tip-top))).

And I adapted to the jellied meat just gorgeous - in the morning I throw one leg, two shanks, a carrot, an onion, a pepper and a lavrushka, put it on the car, in the evening I come and turn it off, a little later I take it apart from bones and other excess, + salt and garlic, and by the morning there is already jellied meat)))

Girls, and which one is in demand on the farm by 3.5 or 6.5 ... well, so that the universal size is. At 6.5, is it not necessary to cook full? And if you stew a whole chicken, then it won't fit in 3.5
And poke your nose pliz where Mona looks at 6.5 liters, found at 3.5 ...

Does it fit in 6.5 in volume? when compared to a 5 liter multi-cooker pan?

and which on the farm is in demand by 3.5 or 6.5 ...

It depends on your cooking volumes. If there are few eaters or you are used to cooking fresh every day, then you need to take less.I have 3.5 liters - quite enough. I very rarely think that 6.5 would also be useful. If I cook broth with a bone, and the bone is rather big, then the height of the bowl is not enough - it is only about 11 cm in height at the Sibrizka by 3.5 liters. I use the slow lye most often for broths. Sometimes for stuffed cabbage and jelly. The chicken and the side dishes did not impress me personally.
