By the way, I soak hummus (chickpeas) with soda, and there are no problems
How do you soak? I have long since said goodbye to the desire to cook hummus. Even after four hours of cooking in a pressure cooker on the stove, he did not give up. I bought different ones, both small and large, soaked in water from 12 hours to almost a day.
Bertha
Ira,
Just like you, I scored on hummus after it hadn't boiled over after four hours of cooking. For fifteen years. And suddenly, in some article dedicated to the preparation of hummus-paste I read that it is impossible to boil hummus until soft without soaking it with soda.
Now really no problem, and, any, both small and large. They say small is tastier. I don't see much difference.
I add a good pinch of soda to a glass of hummus with a decent amount of water (so that it has room to swell). For a minimum of 12 hours. It is possible for a day (if it's hot - in the refrigerator).
Before cooking, rinse and fill with clean water. I cook in a regular cartoon for two to three hours (two, if soaked for a day).
You need to try to crush the grain in your fingers. Should be crushed without the slightest resistance.

Thank you !

To your health, get some food. And I will soak the peas in the same manner.
Want to know everything
I tried to cook it with soda !!! (why she asked above, did anyone try, where and how to add soda) I cooked beans, a long, long time ago, when there was still no Internet, my neighbor granny advised! It was something! Tasty, disgusting, soapy! Therefore, Girls! Rinse well after soda! Very good! Very, very good!

And I'll try to soak it in a soda solution, compare the result! )))

Do not cook! Do not cook! Soak only. And yes. of course rinse well.

Bertha,
Now I understand! Experience "sad", but his own, taught!
Wow, I'll soak the beans closer to the weekend!
Bertha
Tatyana, good luck Just a little soda. And I never have any problems with beans without any soda. Soak it overnight in clean water, that's all. Peas here

What a horror, what kind of hummus is this armor-piercing. We have only one hummus, either in stores or in the markets where I live in Russia. Soaked it overnight and cooked it on the stove for 2 hours, and in a pressure cooker under pressure for 40 minutes - 1 hour. And that's all. Next, you need to beat it with a blender in mashed potatoes, because hummus is not peas, no matter how much you cook it, it will not lose its shape (although it has been ready for a long time), mashed potatoes will not work out of it by itself. Or I'm not catching up with something.

I switched to Oregon green peas lately
I also really like dried green peas, soups and mashed potatoes are great, even softer for the stomach, just more delicate.

Even before leaving for Israel, I bought hummus in St. Petersburg and cooked it. Everything was fine - I didn't dance with tambourines, but simply soaked it overnight and boiled it in a saucepan and that's it. Apparently these legumes are from different places. As with corn - in Russia it was cooked for 2 hours, and in Israel for 20 minutes.
Now there are so many different manufacturers, sellers ... In one part of the world they produced, in another they packed, and in the third they sold. So one pea knows where and how many years it managed to stagger until it got into our saucepan.

Ira S, oh how you said everything correctly !!

It's like that. That is why, to make hummus, it is advised to crush a pea between your fingers to check readiness, otherwise you will not make out.
Ira S
Soaked green peas. Tomorrow I will cook.
Bertha
I'll buy it tonight, soak it overnight and cook it tomorrow. I also plan green.
Ira S
Again it didn't work out! I put it first in the microwave, then in m02 and m90 - almost 4 hours in total! He finished me off!
Bertha
Ira , was the soda used for soaking?
Lagri
Today I again cooked pea puree from 1 multi-glass of peas (in halves) and 2 multi-glasses of water, I did not add salt immediately, but only put it after the end of cooking. I cooked on the Soup-Stew mode, setting 2 hours of time, but after 1 hour 15 minutes everything was ready, like this:
Multicooker Redmond RMC-02
I did not soak the peas, but after rinsing well, immediately set to cook. Stirring with that spatula, it turned out puree. Next time I will weld in a ratio of 1 to 2.3. The puree turned out to be a little thick. And yet, the lid inside after cooking was clean, it did not get dirty. And I stained the bowl above the puree when I stirred it with a spatula.
Bertha
Maria, Great!
Ira's rights, peas are different. I will fight our armor-piercing
Lagri
Bertha, I have never seen such armor-piercing, but more often a yellow one whole or chipped, in halves. Puree is delicious. What else do you need ...
Ira S
Bertha, I soaked in water for 12 hours.
These peas are Israeli green, the previous yellow was bought by weight. I used to buy Russian or Ukrainian yellow in 1 kg packages and cook in a pressure cooker. It boiled well - into gruel, and the Israeli one - armor-piercing! Now I remembered that this green one didn't even boil in my pressure cooker.
Bertha
Maria, eh, you do not understand our suffering
Ira, I also bought green today. Soaked it with a pinch of baking soda. I will fight tomorrow.

I have a temporary break from baking in baby m02. My family tasted it and now I have a bunch of freeloaders. I have to bake in m90, and I don't like baking in it - too much condensate flows into the baking when the lid is opened. A stupid removable lid, a stupid valve, and a stupid condensate container that doesn't get anything. My daughter brought her M20 to me for a baking test. It bakes well, there is almost no condensation, even when boiling there is very little soup, and the one that is there flows where it should - into the container. M20 has a pot of rubbish, but I liked the cartoon itself.

I liked the cartoon.
Valuable information. M20 was brought to my friend as a gift. And she doesn't want to hear anything about multicooker, she didn't even try. I tell her every day on the way to work about the delights of multicooking. And she answered me: "You are just a fan of kitchen technology ״. Now I will tell her that this model is praised on the forum, we can work

Bertha, I have such an impenetrable friend. She lives alone, there is an electric stove in the apartment, and she can buy cards for a cartoon. I huddle it for eight years with interruptions. No, everything is useless. And the stove is already old, it needs to be changed.

That's for sure, but you need to somehow involve a person in our ranks. First M20, and then M02 wants. For baking, it is beyond competition and the size is the same!

This is how I am now. Before shopping, I hardly cooked cartoons. Email The stove has a lot of electricity, it is washed after every cooking and it is still very hot in summer, and in Israel it is summer 7 months a year. And my personal plus to the multicooker is that I see very badly and am afraid to cook on the stove.

I have such an impenetrable friend.
I have two of them. Another one at work. “It's easy for me to set the timer on and off.” “I don’t cook that.” "I don't have much room." "Does your slow cooker stir it by itself? No? So I don't need that."
I dealt with close relatives quickly. I gave my father and wife a cartoon, which is simpler (Polaris Floris).I wrote detailed instructions with examples and recommendations, I conducted a couple of master classes. They bow to their feet for a year now.
She handed the Polaris 517 to her son and daughter-in-law, despite "We don't need this." Now, a year later, the son asked for the little one. I bought the M02 for them. Now I read the forum. The very one does not have a little one.

And I seem to have tamed the armor-piercing peas. Soaked one and a half glasses (regular) with a pinch of baking soda for 12 hours. Rinsed thoroughly and boiled for 2 hours. Boiled as cute. Only I foolishly cooked in a ratio of 1: 2, the soup turned out to be puree. Now I evaporate with the lid open.

Flour 250 gr
Water 150 ml
Yeast gran. 1/2 tsp
Draining. oil 10 gr
Sugar 1 tsp
Salt 1/2 tsp
Mix flour with water and yeast for 10 minutes. I just stir with a spoon.
Pour in the melted and cooled plums in the microwave. butter, add salt and sugar. I knead with a hook for about 10 minutes.
Roll a bun and in a cartoon for proofing. I turn on the "yogurt" for 2 minutes and turn it off. After 30-40 minutes, roll up with an envelope, wrap in a bun. I grease the table and hands a little. oil. And again in the cartoon for 30 minutes, roll it up again. Wrap it in a bun, press down in a saucepan from above, spread it flat, and in a cartoon for proofing 2.5 times, as long as it takes.
In the baby I bake 40 + 20, 35 + 20 is possible, but I love the crust.
In a large multi, there are 2 times more ingredients, and the baking time depends on the multi.

Oksana, well done, the soup turned out great! I never soak such peas, I don't even soak a whole yellow one and it cooks well and not for long. And the girls also wrote somewhere that they cook pea puree, then add water to it to cook the soup - it's also a good option, I mean if the soup is without meat. Or you can add meat broth instead of water.

Ira S, very good and fast cupcake! How good is the Redmond Airfryer lid in this case. I bought it not so long ago and I use it constantly, I brown the top of the baking. So, if you do not turn it over, then keep it on Pastry for 55 minutes?

Today I decided to stew a chicken leg with potatoes. I poured some butter, put chopped onion, pieces of chicken leg on it. Included "stew soup" for 1.5 hours. She put the chopped potatoes on top. Before putting the potatoes, the chicken gurgled a little, and with the appearance of a neighbor it calmed down. I didn't add water and it turned out a lot of sauce, but there was no boiling. At the end of the program, the chicken was cooked, but the potatoes were not. I turned on the "express" and the process started. Put the potatoes down in the sauce. After 35 minutes, the stubborn potatoes were cooked.
Girls, how do you cook for "soup - stew" gurgles strongly? It looks like you can't put out potatoes in this mode.

Added on Tuesday 25 Oct 2016 02:02 PM

In m90, I cooked a stew with potatoes in a similar way - below the meat in sauce, and on top of the potatoes cut into 4 pieces, as if steamed. Extinguishing mode time 1 hour. In 15 minutes I turned the potatoes over and they were almost ready. At 02 it didn't work out, even the slices were not prepared. Apparently, the boiling is insufficient. Next time I'll put it on express.
Wildebeest
Ira S, Ira, once upon a time I was cooking something for Panase18, there were potatoes. I cooked it for a long time, but it didn't want to cook. It sometimes comes across uncooked potatoes.
In my 02 on the soup-stewing mode, waves run on the surface and sometimes gurgles. This is if the products are 1 liter.
