Hi, I'm new to you. Sometimes I bake for my family. I am spreading the gingerbread house that I baked in 2011.

And this house baked this year for the old new year. Nut dough. It was less of a hassle with him, no need to roll out. I tried to make a window from isomalt

the same house, inside with a lit candle. Seen enough at your houses, what a beauty. I'm just learning.

Girls, so I decided to show the gingerbread house, which I made for trial. I carefully re-read everything that is on the site on gingerbread dough, house assembly and decoration.

Gingerbread house (how to assemble and decorate)

I reworked the dough recipe for myself. I decided to try it on myself first. I will take a photo of how to do the whole process and post it.

But on the assembly of the house I will express my thoughts here.
I baked this house in a special silicone mold, which I bought and was eager to use it. The shape is beautiful, but there is a minus - it is deep, about 1 cm, the wall is 10 * 16 cm, the height is 16 cm. The finished gingerbread turns out to be thick and heavy. The dough is dense and the shape turns out to be "stuffed". It is difficult to roll out and lay, because the size can be misguided. And I want the relief to be preserved. In general, you have to think about how to use it.

Gingerbread house (how to assemble and decorate)

Assembling the house, as it turned out, is not an easy process. I wish you had a few more hands.

At first I decided to staple them onto caramel. I welded it and began to dip the edges and try to fix it. I will not do this anymore, because I think this is a very dangerous way. Hot caramel (150 gr). You dip it and you have to contrive, bring it to another detail and attach it. Small parts cannot be glued at all, because you cannot smear it with a brush, and it is difficult to gently dip the part into caramel. In general, this method is not for me.

Since the walls of the house turned out to be rather thick, they tried to collapse all the time. With difficulty, I assembled the house and began to look for information on how to fasten the parts and found a mention that it is good to glue on icing or chocolate.

I made a ganache, I flooded it a little, oiled the parts and tried to stick it, but the layer turned out to be thin, and since the parts have uneven surfaces and I had quite heavy ones, they did not stick.

Next is the icing that I made for decoration. So he helped me out, because it was thick enough. True, I had to hold the details to stick together, but I really wanted to finish the house.

From all of the above, I drew conclusions for myself:
1.parts for the house should not be large and thick
2.Part of the decor is best applied to the details before they are assembled, i.e. when they are still on the table
3.It would be nice to have the base of the house to which you can lean the details when you assemble the house (I asked my husband to do it for me)
4. You can collect for icing, then you don't need to make an additional ganache just for assembly.

In the end, despite the fact that I had to sweat a lot, I was satisfied with the result. Stands at home, pleases the eye and smells of "gingerbread perfume".

Ellena !
Clever girl! Cool house! Looks very fundamental! I, too, have already baked the details, tomorrow I will glue and decorate. And yet, according to last year's experience, we glue on chocolate! Not for ganache, it won't stand the walls! It is on chocolate (or chocolate icing in disks) - pour boiling water into a bowl or ladle, put a bowl with pieces of chocolate or disks of chocolate glaze in it - stir with a teaspoon and melt. Before gluing, adjust the walls to each other - grind like a young potato with a scrubber! And then - strengthen (prop) one wall with cans, so that it stands upright, on it we draw a thick strip of hot chocolate with a brush, apply the wall that needs to be glued, and again with a brush, apply the inner chocolate thickly to the corner! And so are the following walls. Then we transfer this quadrangle to the base and again pour it into the base with chocolate. And from above, we close everything with icing when decorating - the chocolate will not be visible. Although initially we can take white icing in disks or white chocolate in figures. And yet - until the walls are glued together, from the inside we glue the marmalade plates on the windows with chocolate. The marmalade does not melt. The joints are all perfectly closed with icing when you paint window frames and binders.
Luda, thank you.

I will try for chocolate icing and report back.
Very useful additions for me !!!!
Quote: Prus - 2

Here's another little tip - cut out the windows in hot dough on a stencil. Make a stencil of the window size and shape you need. We took out the detail where the window should be, put a stencil and circled it, cut it with a sharp knife. And then - from the inside, gummy plates, and from the outside on them with icing we thinly draw a frame and a binding
So I thought so, otherwise when you transfer the stenciled parts to a baking sheet, they are slightly deformed.
Quote: N @ T @

I have been baking houses and gingerbreads since 2011, and so I always connected them with icing and I really like it, they moved 200 km - everything is in order, the chocolate in a warm room can melt and the structure will not hold on tightly, the glaze, of course, is better in this case , but it will have to be heated, and icing is good for both decoration and connection
I cut out the windows immediately in raw dough, then transferred them on parchment, after cooling down, poured caramel (such as barberry) into the openings of the windows and into the oven at 110 - 100 degrees on parchment, for a few minutes - the windows are ready
Quote: aksana

Girls, I always collect for icing, there have never been any problems and the walls do not need to be propped up very quickly. I cut out the windows in raw dough and transfer them to a baking sheet on baking paper, nothing deforms, and I am too lazy to make caramel windows. When the icing dries completely, a very reliable design is obtained, I do it on ordinary substrates.
Just now I remembered that glucose syrup and isomalt can be baked on a silicone mat. True, at a temperature of 170-180 grams and 8-10 minutes.
Quote: N @ T @

I read about the method with caramels in the cook and tried it - it worked the first time
Nata, there is no limit to perfection! thanks, I will try
Quote: Prus - 2

Girls! Do not forget that the caramel in the windows melts over time! But marmalade - no!

Absolutely not melted with me

I will return to the question of assembling houses.
My house, which I glued with caramel, began to fall apart. As Lyuba said. Caramel started to "cry"
Quote: Sapphire

Lyuba, what beautiful houses. It is necessary to make a master class on assembly as a separate topic. How much patience does it take to decorate. Masterpiece.

Pretty little houses! How many details !!! But only the photo does not reveal the beauty !!!!!!!!
These are the first houses as a gift for our Catholic friends. The children were taken to the office (so that they would not occupy a place at home. I asked for a photo - they took them only from the front. Tomorrow they will shoot from the back). And today I bake the following 2.

Prus - 2, wonderful houses. Share how you make such wonderful icicles, I can't
AUV - Yulichka!
Can we do icing differently? I make - 2 proteins +1/2 teaspoons of lemons - beat with a mixer into a strong, strong foam, then gradually knead with a teaspoon of 300 g of fine powdered sugar. Then at the lowest speed of the mixer I mix it all until smooth. I have a round nozzle for fine work (and icicles) 01. With it I hook a point to the roof or window, press down a little and pull it down - it turns out an icicle. Last year I worked without a nozzle, just cut off a very small tip in a pastry bag.
Quote: AUV

Lyuba, thanks, I will try to do icing in this ode according to your method.
Do you pull it out until the icing thread breaks or you cut it? And I still can't see how and with what nozzle the roof is decorated?
I pull the icicle until it breaks. The roof is first covered with a pallet of approx. 5 mm (I align, but not much - it will still be closed with a pattern), and then with a closed asterisk (middle) I put flower dots in oblique squares. In the middle of each square she has a flower, and in it a sugar ball. On these houses - red, today I will do with blue, it is possible with multi-colored. You can paint icing and put colored dots. The roof is better seen on my last year's houses.
Quote: Dashulka

Prus-2 are very beautiful houses!
Can you share the stencils?
And your icing freezes and becomes dense, does not crumble?
Dashulka!
Stencil - there is an active link on the 1st page of the topic. I took it for a large house, but increased the roof by 2 cm both in length and in width. And the walls were reduced by the height of the lateral 10 cm (left the length), the height of the end (to the roof) 10 cm, length - 15 cm. The icing solidifies and is dense. Beautiful - like porcelain. Does not crumble.
Quote: Lyuba1955

Lyubasha, what a beauty! What a smart you are, I did 5 pieces the year before last, too. and the whole family helped me, played and left, and I was so tired with them that now it's hard to make up my mind, but the idea with pins is wonderful, I don't remember who wrote it, I will find it and I will definitely put a plus sign, suddenly I make up my mind, after your houses my hands were combed
Lyubochka, thanks! It's hard, of course, to bake so much (not even bake, but decorate). I just finished decorating the 3rd house. You also need to buy the figures, well, that's not a problem. I have all children (both) at work until late, there is no one to help. But at least they do not squeak that I cook every other day.
Quote: Lyuba1955

And you came up with great ideas with snowflakes, my houses were simpler and there was a Christmas tree and Santa Claus nearby, but the gingerbread ones, of course, not as bright as yours, but my friends and grandchildren, in spite of everything, were just delighted
Quote: ledi

what a beauty and the first time. And I am ashamed to admit, I heard and saw about them on the forum. we don't bake this
Quote: ledi

Lyubochka, how quickly icing freezes according to your recipe .... I'll probably go to read everything first, otherwise I run up and down. And I also bake bread, master a bread maker, I also run on all topics. Work on mistakes, so to speak. Probably we need to make the dough today for the houses, so that it will mature until tomorrow. Isn't there too much of it?
Well, here I am making a house of walls 10x18, 15x10x15 (attic), the roof is as in the drawing, but also + 2 cm in length and width. I roll it out about 0.5 - 0.7 cm. For the base on which the house stands, I take shortbread dough. I not only have enough dough for a house, but still a little left for gingerbread.
Quote: Irina1607

Lyuba and you do not have a scheme of the house would be very helpful. I also want to bake, but I can't find anywhere a schematic diagram like your house.
Regarding the stencil - here is the stencil for our topic https://Mcooker-enn.tomathouse.com/index.php@option=com_smf&topic=2187.0 - Here 1 cell = 1 cm. I took a stencil for a large house - I increased the roof by 2 cm in length and width. The end wall (before moving to the roof - the attic) I made 10 cm up (and to them + 15 cm the height of the attic) and 15 cm - the width of the wall. The side wall is 10 cm high, 18 cm wide. When I assemble the house, I glue the side walls to the end wall (the side walls do not protrude beyond the end) - a box of 15x20 cm is obtained (20 - because the end wall is about 1 cm thick). I camouflage all the joints at the corners well with icing with the "asterisk" nozzle - it turns out elegantly and additionally we strengthen the gluing points at the corners.
Vera! I didn't finish your question yesterday! The icing dries quickly, so that it can work normally, I do it for 2 proteins (+300 g of powder + 1/3 teaspoon of lemon + vanillin) as it is over - again for 2 proteins. I put the bowl with icing in a plastic bag, and put the cond in it next to it. bags with attachments, when you need to distract yourself or change the bag, pallet. That's all - so that the icing does not dry out. And I put 2 = 3 teaspoons into the bag - I worked it out - I put it next time. When I glue the marmalade - on the pipe and the foundation - I put icing in the lid for the jar, dip a piece of marmalade and fasten it to the gingerbread. And then, I go around all the pieces with a round nozzle 01 (you can just cut off a little bit of a bag or bag) - so you immediately get a finished look of the "wild stone" masonry made of marmalade. So, when icing is in polyethylene, it does not dry for a very long time! I put the leftovers in the refrigerator - a week, at least, guaranteed! And maybe longer - I didn't check it.
Quote: ledi

Lyubasha, thank you! And do you glue the house with the same icing or for gluing according to a different recipe?
I glue the house with chocolate icing, for me it hardens faster. And then I also go through the outer joints with icing - you can see the corners of the house in the photo, the ridge of the roof too, and then I also cover the place where the roof-attic is glued with an icing strip, not thick, the one that I make icicles. First, I glue the base with the glaze to the tray, then I draw a thick strip of chocolate on the base with a brush, where the rear end of the house will be. I also coat the bottom of the end wall with chocolate icing with a brush and put the first wall. As soon as she grabbed, I still hold her, there is a strip of shock across her from the inside. glaze and continue to the length of the side wall. Here, 1 time you need to contrive and hold the 1st wall with one hand, smear the edge of the lower side wall and the edge that goes to the end wall, and quickly put it. And it adheres very quickly to the 1st wall! And then you don't need to keep anything special! Basically - smear and apply. Only - it is imperative to glue the windows in before assembling - the marmalade will slide down by weight, and it can bend!
Quote: Ilona

And the size of the nozzle? 1 or 2?
Ilona! It is not small - a medium closed star. Half of the houses were decorated with 8 slots, half - with 5 slots. Both look good.

Hello everyone! They all have wonderful houses, there is something to strive for! This year I am making houses and painted gingerbreads for the second time ... I decided to make everyone happy with such gifts for the New Year .... .. and immediately want to share my thoughts. I read somewhere, maybe on our website, alas, I don’t remember. Which is more convenient to first paint the details of the house, and then glue, and that's right! Then you just need to glue very carefully. And to make it more convenient to glue it was possible fasten the walls to each other with tailor's pins. ”Here it is my" SEMI-FINISHED "Gingerbread house (how to assemble and decorate) the house is not ready yet but I insert for clarity. It's really more convenient with pins! Good luck to everyone in the construction of houses! HURRAH!!

MomMaxa
Good morning everyone! Here are the first two houses from my village ... and gingerbread cookies ... Gingerbread house (how to assemble and decorate) OOO I really enjoyed making houses this year! A year of work as a "cake maker" was not in vain. Handles are not such "hooks" as a year ago! I will definitely make a whole village ... Last year I had orders for cakes, well, completely "under the Christmas tree", but with a small child there was not enough time ... So I made cakes with gingerbread houses. The houses were made in advance. And mess with the cake to a minimum! I wrapped the sides of the cake with mastic, icing snowflakes on it, covered the top with coconut shavings or powdered sugar, and the house on top of almost the entire cake! A couple of figurines (Santa Claus, hare, Snow Maiden, etc.) and Christmas trees (stuck in advance in reserve) and that's it! All customers were satisfied. I made one such cake as a gift for a children's DR (on December 31st) and filled the house with sweets.
Lyuba Thank you so much for the icing recipe for decoration. I will definitely try, otherwise I breed everything "by eye", decorate it from a pastry bag without a nozzle, I just cut it off, and all over I get thinner icing ...
And my child was winding circles around the table all evening yesterday. Mom want to eat the house! I say they say decoration for cakes. Okay mom then cake! or at least a typewriter! The beloved child will have to make gingerbread in the form of toy cars! I went to the internet for a pattern and I’ll look for the next batch of dough, the construction site does not wait !!! Good luck to all!!!

Anya - Max's Mom!
What a fine fellow you are! Small houses and gingerbread are awful! The houses are straight dolls, painted - no words at all! What a charm, what a gingerbread (I wanted to write - toys)! And last year my gingerbread cookies turned out to be clumsy, I want to try to make, as I finish all the houses. Do you have liquid icing for drawing? The proportion is possible?
Girls! I would like to add a link to Gerda's master class from "Samovars" on the gingerbread house (though a link to her personal site). This master class helped me a lot last year. , I think, those who will bake for the first time will definitely come in handy!
Lyuba, thank you very much for the "praises" I kneaded the dough today ... I'll probably cook tomorrow ... oh, I would have to shove 48 hours into one day! And today I'll start drawing, I want houses of a slightly different design, so that they are different! And I do icing "by eye". 1 protein, a few drops of citric acid, beat a little with a fork and begin to add sifted icing sugar to about soft peaks in a tablespoon and mix. I bring the mixture to about "soft peaks". I try to hang a thread of icing between my fingers, if it holds, then I'm ready. Then either into an envelope with nozzles 0, 1, 2 or just into an envelope and cut off the spout. Can be in a file or milk carton. If you need pouring on gingerbread, first the contour with a thicker icing, so that it does not blur, and filling with a more liquid one (I add a few drops of water to the finished icing and into a separate envelope).
Here are just the windows in the houses and toys made of candy, now I'm waiting for them to flow

Girls, I don’t remember who asked how I decorate and assemble, sorry I didn’t answer right away: first I decorate the details, let them dry, and then collect them. I hang the icicles already assembled, sometimes I finish the little things on the finished house. Collecting for the same icing. I collected Christmas trees for chocolate icing.
Quote: Prus - 2

Natasha, well, here you are, both for icing and for chocolate icing - which dries faster?
Quote: ledi

Girls, called her husband to the monitor, showed your houses. His reaction: why do we still have none?
Quote: Prus - 2

Ice dries faster. Fir-trees gather only horizontally, and the house is also vertical, I did not dare to glue the house on the glaze for these reasons, and the glaze is not white, but yellowish compared to icing. Yesterday I gave away the Christmas tree and the top nevertheless came off, with icing I never had this
Quote: Prus - 2

And I glue on the dark glaze - I coat it well from the inside. And then on the front side - icing jewelry. And then, for sure - it is holding dead! All methods are good - the main thing is that we all have an excellent result!

OGO! One had only to tear himself away from the computer for two days, and there is so much beauty! Lyuba, the New Year's village is just a fairy tale, Natalia, the houses are like from a fairy tale ... It's a shame to admit, but I am a little sorry to give up my houses. It seems that I do it specially for this, but I became directly related to them in the process of making ... During these two days I had two more cakes with gingerbread houses, fences, cats and snowmen! Customers all like it very much, unusual, they say ...
Tanyush, the cat is really a mold, the current is small, about 2.5 cm by 2 cm. I bought a set of cuttings for polymer clay called hallown. There was a pumpkin, an owl, leaves and a cat, and they were all small, I used only leaves, so the cat came in handy!
Olga, we also sell similar forms, but the price is even higher .... Try to draw your house. I draw all my houses on notebook sheets in a cage, 4 standard projects are already ready!) And the dough can be rolled out immediately on the parchment on which you will bake and carefully cut according to the template ..
Vera, all come out of the gloom !!! Join us! Moreover, support in the person of your spouse is already provided to you! HURRAH! Good luck to all!

Lidochka! What a beauty! Everything is so pretty, sweet, appetite-and-so! And about a horse with a sleigh - I generally keep quiet! Last year I tried to make a reindeer with sledges, but it turned out such nonsense that it was just awful! This is a very delicate work, and the Christmas trees are! In general - MASTER!
Oh, Lyubochka, you praised me! Thank you! She also made a deer, but the year of the Horse, she stuck a horse. There is little space on the tray. I also wanted a doghouse and baked the dog out of dough ... it's time for the doctor

Yeah, I, too, went nuts, and not only houses, but also decorating gingerbread, and how to make sleighs, and gingerbread pods, and anything else that is even impossible to imagine took your breath away. By the way, this is page 10, and there are more than 30 in total, so you can look at it from the beginning, there are patterns for some houses.
Quote: Prus - 2

Tanya! Very beautiful reference! But I not only looked at the pictures, but also read that one of the craftswomen, whose works cause deserved admiration - has been working professionally with gingerbread for over 25 years !!! No wonder the result is so excellent.Looking at these houses, I understand that there is something to strive for. But this in no way can diminish the merits of our girls, whose works are presented in this topic! We are not professionals, but we put our souls in, learn from each other and create our own, author's masterpieces! And our not quite professional houses are closer and more expensive to me, we are great girls! And striving for the ideal is always good.

Girls, it was after this topic in the cook that I started making gingerbread houses three years ago and the cook's recipe for my houses
Ilona
Girls, or maybe I will be amused in kalashny gingerbread row?
Only I have a question for now. So to speak for exploration!
Girls, you make houses from soft gingerbread dough or from spicy ginger, what's on the cookies? And the most important question. I always thought that the houses are covered BEFORE baking, right on the baking sheet / parchment on which they will bake, but now I read in the recipe that the layer is being baked ... I'm confused. I am just getting ready for the house, I understand that something has been going on for a long time. So far, only ginger strength has been enough for cookies according to Volnitskaya's recipe, and she has not yet painted it. But I want a house !!! But I want the right one !!! Tell me?
Quote: N @ T @

Ilona, my houses are not soft, but rather gingerbread cookies, I make a pattern before baking. Yes, when you take out the dough, it is still soft, but quickly becomes hard, I tried to cut holes in the cookies using the hot dough - it worked, but to cut the whole house hot, I didn't risk it, and why?
Quote: Prus - 2

Ilona, hello!
And it's very good that you come to us worried came! I take Gerda's dough for gingerbread, as you wrote correctly - roll it out on baking paper, apply a stencil, cut it out. I transfer it along with the paper to a baking sheet, bake. Then, on the hot dough, I cut it - I again apply a stencil and where the dough has crawled out of the contour, I cut it. And then, on a hot gingerbread, I cut out the windows and doors - I put small stencils and circle them with a knife. And one of the girls immediately cuts out the windows and doors.
Quote: MamaMaxa

Ilona, I cut out everything before baking, first I cut out the contours of the parts, then carefully transfer it to a sheet covered with a non-stick mat and already cut out windows and doors on it. Try it, very interesting and not as difficult as it seems!
Girls, thank you for your answers, the topic is very tasty and festive. It’s a pity that I caught my eye so late, but I’m not giving up! While I'm at war with custom-made cookies) And the house may be my youngest on the DR would make it, he was born on January 2. Maybe I can. Well, if I don't have time for Christmas, it will be even better and fabulous!
I, too, if we have somewhere there are diagrams of houses of average complexity, I would gladly embroider. Before I have time to come up with my own project, this year I will repeat other people's, if anyone shares a diagram.

Ilona, just above there was a link to the cook, there are templates for houses, my houses are made according to their template
Quote: MamaMaxa

Gingerbread house (how to assemble and decorate) Ilona! This is my house from photographs (it is also on the cake). So a higher technical education came in handy! Only I made the patterns of all the walls (4 pieces) and two roof parts, so that later on the test parts do not move. The windows are just schematically drawn, I cut them out in place. You can make windows with a heart or with a flower. And then the pipe must also be cut into 4 parts, along the lines. I'm already cutting the dough. She did not cut the pipe pattern so as not to grind it. Good luck!
Quote: MamaMaxa

I already have four typical house designs! I have already shaken everything off and not one copy at a time, two have already "left" along with the cakes .... the rest are lying and waiting for their turn at the construction site.
Quote: Prus - 2

Regarding the stencil - here is the stencil for our topic https://Mcooker-enn.tomathouse.com/index.php@option=com_smf&topic=2187.0 - Here 1 cell = 1 cm. I took a stencil for a large house - I increased the roof by 2 cm in length and width. The end wall (before moving to the roof - the attic) I made 10 cm up (and to them + 15 cm the height of the attic) and 15 cm - the width of the wall. Side wall - height 10 cm, width 18 cm.When I assemble the house, I glue the side walls to the end wall (the side walls do not protrude beyond the end) - it turns out a box of 15x20 cm (20 - because the end wall is about 1 cm thick). I camouflage all the joints at the corners well with icing with the "asterisk" nozzle - it turns out elegantly and additionally we strengthen the gluing points at the corners.
Thank you girls !!!

Hello! I really want a gingerbread house with glass in the windows. I have a question: Put caramel in the windows and bake when the blank is on baking paper? And which side of the paper is glossy or matte?
Quote: MamaMaxa

Tatyana, I made windows out of crushed candy. Immediately before baking, poured into the windows... BUT, they really melt over time (((((I also made gingerbreads with candy windows) in a week everything "flowed". Either the technology needs to be changed, or marmalade windows should be made. Girls who made the windows with marmalade, tell me, should you heat the marmalade? Or just cut into plates and glue on icing from the inside?
Quote: Prus - 2

I make gummy ones - they cost a month, once pasted! If the marmalade is thick, then - yes, it must be cut into plates. And this year I bought a marmalade as thick as lemon-orange slices, so I did not cut it.
Quote: Lydia 777

I, too, cut out and cut out the windows and doors on parchment paper before baking and transferred them to the sheet together with the paper. Windows made of five-layer marmalade, cut off thinly and glued to the glaze. I tried caramel windows right away, but when baked, they deformed the window cutout. The windows are poorly visible in the photo. I even inserted (in the door) a garland, it shone so beautifully (they are yellow, one on the side is red, and the top one is green. But the garland quickly becomes hot. I put the tray with the house in the sideboard. I open it - the smell is awesome! The dough is also according to Gerda's recipe. Thank you girls again for inspiring!
Prus - 2
So the last house has taken its place! In general - girls, baking them is not scary! Last year, when I baked for the first time, I baked 2 houses. This year there are 5 houses. Not particularly tired - I collect them already on the knurled!Gingerbread house (how to assemble and decorate)

And on the sly, between work and household chores, I paint my gingerbread cookies as best I can, the main thing is that they are delicious. I will finish, I will show, although there is nothing to brag about. We in the Czech club will arrange a Christmas evening for children next Sunday, I will carry my hut to please the children.
Ira! : elka: Thank you, dear, for the praise! And I already wanted to write to you in a personal with a question - where did you disappear? You see, you made a house and clamped it down! This is not good - come on, exhibit! I am sure that you are being modest - your house should be pretty! Otherwise it can not be! But I'm going to paint the gingerbread cookies, something scary! Last year I tried 3 things - they turned out so miserable! And this year I baked 2 sheets.
Quote: ledi

Lyuba, well, beauty, you can't take your eyes off
Eh, reluctance to wait for the chocolate icing, I have already bought several packs of powders with a kg. And the house is already baked, I want to do something further. As for baking, in my oven everything is poorly baked, such as cookies, thin cakes for cakes, the top does not brown, and the bottom burns. And today, as luck would have it, I forgot to put an additional baking sheet so that the bottom would burn less and my first portion burned badly, I hurried to pull it out, but the top was not baked yet. I had to bake these parts again, at least the dough was enough.
Vera, my oven is not ice either! Look, those places where it burned badly - with a fine, prickly grater! And there will be no need to bake! Oh, you've already baked! Glue it on icing like girls do!
Quote: ledi

I will buy regular chocolate and glue it, but I flew with the powder, it has starch 2% written. Can't icing work now? The mastic I did from it seemed to work out. Eh, it turns out because of the computer you can't get up at all, read everything, read ...
Quote: N @ T @

ledi
It will turn out icing with this powder, checked
Quote: ledi

Natasha, thank you, calmed me down. I'll try tomorrow. And here's what I also read "Fluffy" icing from the neighbors:
1 protein
180g well sifted sugar powder
Lemon juice
1 flat spoon of starch.
Grind all ingredients thoroughly in a bowl. The consistency should be such that it can be written with. To apply it, Mrs. Petrova uses a classic cellophane cornet. Once dry, the starchy fondant is airy and looks like whipped cream.
Quote: Mona1

And, by the way, in the purchased powdered sugar, there is also starch, a little bit. For example, in ATA powder. I always use it for mastic, fine, good powder.
Quote: Mona1

And I also stumbled upon the description, where not powder, but fine sugar is used, has anyone made a similar fondant? And I was confused by two points in this description. I have highlighted in bold. Some kind of contradiction as if. Or what was meant here?
"Protein fondant for gingerbread:
• 1 protein
• Approximately 200g caster sugar
• Lemon juice or boiled water for dilution.
• Sift sugar at least 3 times. Sugar is better to add more than less. Better to make a thick fondant, and then thin it. Rub with a wooden spoon for about 20 minutes until the consistency changes. When it thickens and turns white, the fudge is ready. Now you can dilute with strained lemon juice or boiling. water. Add little by little. It is good to cover the excess fondant with a damp cloth so that it does not dry out and the last sugar crystals melted... The fudge shouldn't leak. Take a toothpick, dip in the fondant, and dot. If the dot spreads, add sugar. The fudge should always be fresh. The next day not the same, sugar will melt too much... Therefore, for small surfaces, half the protein fudge is sufficient. "
Maybe people there do not know that there is powder in the world, but the powder will immediately melt, but here it seems that they do not want all the sugar to melt.
Quote: ledi

I think they call the powder fine sugar. Powder is only with us. Someone had to call it that: swoon: Or the recipe is translated like this. I also saw this recipe. On that site I liked the candlesticks of the Heart, but I liked everything, I can't take my eyes off!

A pretty house with a start, did your husband approve? I said that the process is very exciting, I sat with gingerbread last night
Girls, thanks for the praise! Pleasantly! Next time I think it will work out better. Yesterday there were certainly mistakes. It's good that we managed to fix them. I immediately began to build a roof, you bastard, (it's a pity there is no suitable smile), but the walls have not yet grabbed and everything began to go, where I was in a hurry, I don't know, but now I will know. And you, too, were not sitting here idle! Anya, a cool and pretty house! They all turn out beautiful and, moreover, different and beautiful in their own way. I also baked according to this template, but then I decided to make only a small one and take it to work for today's holiday under the Christmas tree and gave it to my neighbors in the store. Everyone was delighted, probably no one ever praised me like that: girl_red: And I already received one order. Now, in thought, how much to take for work ?! ... Lyuba, already drooling looking at the gingerbread! You make them from the same dough as the house? ... ahh, you ask what your husband said. And what about my husband, he did not help me to make a pattern. When he was decorating, he was already asleep, and in the morning he got up and saw the beauty, but on my computer I just threw off the pictures and sat at the computer looking through them, I was surprised: is this yours? I didn't believe it, then I sent him to the kitchen to watch. And I wanted to take him to work for my employees. After all, he was Nikolai with me and wanted to carry it in honor of the holiday. And I, what I, I didn't give ... So he took a picture on the phone and went to brag
MomMaxa
And me with another house ... Made for my family, put it under the tree. I did it according to the pattern from the first page, but I messed up a little with the chimney .. I completely forgot the hole for the chimney! And the "facing" is lame. I fiddled with him for a long time. Roofing work is time consuming!

How long can a gingerbread house stand?... I really wanted to myself, and to send cookies to my nephews instead of a postcard. Can you advise what recipe?
Quote: Prus - 2

I can recommend a recipe from Gerda - very tasty and easy to make! https://Mcooker-enn.tomathouse.com/index.php@option=com_smf&topic=2187.0 And the gingerbreads lie for a very, very long time! They begin to ripen only 3 - 4 weeks after baking. I read that even a year can lie, but we will not succeed - we eat quickly, as we ripen!
Vei
Girls, but I have a sadness. Today I decorated a little detail of the house. Everything is dry. And when I began to collect them, half of them crumbled! and the detail does not want to stick together either. I have a straight house from a fairy tale about three pigs turns out - Dun on him and crumble! What to do??? Peel off the remaining jewelry and reapply? So they can fall off again ... I'm just so upset. I am doing this business for the first time, everything is so difficult out of habit, and now it's down the drain!
Quote: Prus - 2

So, my dear, don't panic! I suppose it's about icing - how did you prepare it? My icing (in a slightly more liquid version) did not sprinkle even from the cakes during cutting, and from the Passover Lamb! Yes, and from the houses - you will rip off the fick! Write urgently, and here we will all think what is wrong!
I made according to the recipe MK Tortyzhki. No whipping protein, powder, lemon juice.
Quote: N @ T @

Vei
Icing EXACTLY failed, it doesn't matter if you whipped it or not, you don't have to make arcs from it, you don't need to whip it for the house. It's about consistency. Although I prefer whipped icing clearly in proportions, no matter what protein (live or dry), everything always works out. The details can be cleaned, re-iced - and everything will work out
Quote: Prus - 2

Vei! I have a page here - two years ago I described in detail how I do icing - it turns out - a beast! In the last houses, and in gingerbread, I just became insolent - I beat the protein into a strong foam (2 proteins + lemon + vanilla - immediately), then immediately pour 300 g of powder (without sifting), I just mixed it with a spoon so that the powder from the mixer does not swell and mix with a mixer at low speed until smooth, and then I can add speed. I don't know, maybe it won't work out of it, but everything else works out great! And fast!
Quote: Merri

Vei, do not worry! This is a fixable matter. Do not pay attention to icing, what will remain, will remain, now it is important to assemble the house. First, clean the edges of the parts with a fine sharp trowel to better fit. Even if the parts are slightly crooked, you can mold and align. I collected for chocolate, pinned it according to the advice from the topic, and a day later I started decorating (I still won't finish, now I'll go bake again). The details hold well and are more convenient to decorate when finished. Correct icing and everything will be fine.
In MK, Tortyzhka emphasizes that it is not necessary to whip the protein, since air bubbles make icing brittle. And we need dense and strong structures. I did everything clearly according to its proportions, although I had doubts about lemon juice. It seemed to me not enough 10 drops per 1 protein and almost 300g of powder ... And I got it so thick.
I'm thinking, maybe I can spread something on the gingerbread before decorating and gluing. Somewhere at the beginning of the topic, I read that they seemed to be smeared with some kind of glue with vodka, but I did not quite understand what, and I don’t remember where I read it.
Quote: N @ T @

After the courses on icing, I ONLY HIT the icing, nothing breaks, I glue the walls of the house for the same icing, after 10 minutes of settling I immediately glue the roof - nothing breaks apart. I've been making houses for three years
Quote: ledi

Lyuba, do you pour your icing + lemon juice?
Quote: N @ T @

I'm not Lyuba, but I also make gingerbread cookies with filling, it's better with water, since lemon juice is not very friendly with dyes - it eats up the color

Natasha and I are writing to you (and I’m also in a personal!) Icing recipes. What don't you like about them? You look at Tortyzhka's recipe - what is the result of icing according to her recipe? I do not know what may or may not come from icing according to my recipe. I know - houses turn out. And icicles. And gingerbread. And everything else that I do. And Natasha has a classic recipe, recognized all over the world, a recipe for the ice king! What did he not arrange? So - stop, exhale and - any of our recipes! And everything will work out!Gingerbread house (how to assemble and decorate)
Verochka ! I'm in water - about 200 ml, diluted a teaspoon of citric acid, adding a tablespoon, until it turned out like a slightly thick dough for pancakes.
Lyuba, my head was just spinning, I don't know anything about Natasha's recipe, so that it doesn't suit me in some way.
I wanted to do it, but I stumbled upon Tortyzhkin, like everything is the same, only he says that you can't whip ... But I wanted the best, and the best is the enemy of the good. Well, I will improve
Quote: N @ T @

I wrote, in the subject of "icing" Eddie Spence's recipe
here he is https://Mcooker-enn.tomathouse.com/index.php@option=com_smf&topic=14023.0
I’m still reading about icing, and it seems that I understood what my mistake and problem was.Apparently I added a lot of lemon juice and the powder is not very fine. But most likely lemon juice gives me fragility. The girls wrote about it. And my icing can still be revived, do you think? Maybe add something to it?
Quote: Prus - 2

Lizochka! Isn't it dry yet? Icing? Try to beat it for a long, long time with a mixer - I also blunted it this way last year - I did the first icing normally, but I decided to beat it with a thief - so he was very good. So I am no longer cold and with powder - I beat it, I thought it would not work - but I beat it! Only for a long time. And she worked for them for a sweet soul! For citric acid, don't be afraid! I already poured it directly into the container, in which I beat it from the bag, by eye. And poured a lot, not less than 1/2 teaspoon. And everything is great! But the fact that the powder is too large may be the reason. But try to beat, it may dissolve!
Quote: Prus - 2

As you beat it (today), put it in a container with a tight lid and in the refrigerator. Take a little and glue something for a test (scraps from baking, maybe 2 walls, or even stretch an icicle on a piece of bread - to see tomorrow whether it works or not. If not, then you need to change the powder.
My icing turned out very thick for me, it squeezed out with difficulty, but judging by what I read, it should have been so, or not?
I glued the house for them, I just applied a thick layer to the joints, while it seems to hold. But the decor, which was thinner, is crumbling.
I have a bowl of icing in a zip-lock bag now, it may not dry out. I wanted to add water to it and beat it. Just how much of that water to add - a spoon or a drop?
Quote: Prus - 2

Oh, I don't know about water! Maybe try to make icing for 1 new protein, and gradually add the powder so that it does not turn out very thick, and then combine them. And the icing will be softer. But why did you sprinkle? Can it dry badly?
Maybe the gingerbread didn't need to be smeared with yolk? They turned out glossy-smooth, and the icing didn't stick? I can't even imagine how everything should look like. There is one thing in the photographs, but in life when you see and touch, everything is completely different.
I don’t have any powder for the new icing, it’s just tomorrow I have to go to buy it, and as luck would have it in the nearest stores. I saw only some kind of starch.
Quote: ledi

It is possible with starch, read a couple of pages back. There I wrote the recipe from the Cook, I think. And I also have powder with starch written 2% and everything worked out
Quote: Prus - 2

And I took powder with starch for gingerbread, everything worked out fine too! And the icing that you have left - put it in 1 more bag and in the refrigerator. And nothing will happen to him! And tomorrow you will buy more powder, this is not the biggest problem, the main thing is that the icing kept up! You also try to decorate not with a line, but with dots, that is, apply a drawing with dots. And you can attach sugar balls, or stars, or something else to the points. You know, so often I'm going to make a cake alone, think over all the details, colors, etc., and suddenly something starts to go wrong. And it turns out a completely, completely different product, radically different from the original idea. But it is good in its own way, and also a figment of my imagination. So often you have to rebuild on the go, there is nothing wrong with that - on the contrary, difficulties temper! But in the end, everything will be very good and beautiful for you!Gingerbread house (how to assemble and decorate)
Thank you so much girls! Do you know anything about vodka-glue?
Quote: Prus - 2

No. And Google doesn't know. And a search engine on our forum.
Quote: N @ T @

Well, except that glue mastic to mastic. Why invent something, I don't understand? There are a number of proven ways how vodka can hold heavy gingerbread cookies?
No, not for me to fasten the walls, but so that the icing decor does not break off the glossy gingerbread walls. Anyway. I will make another Aising.
Quote: N @ T @

I think any icing will not be comfortable on a glossy surface, you need to carefully sand it , you can buy a large nail file, just a float will not work out very neatly.
Quote: Mona1

Well, do not be upset, I also kneaded the dough today, I will do it for the first time, maybe I’ll keep you company, we’ll laugh together. And then I'm looking at this cool work, and many girls do it for the first time. And such a direct fear takes. I hesitated for a long time, but today I grabbed myself by the scruff and dragged me into the kitchen. I began to work, but the thought itself is spinning: The eyes are afraid, but the hands do. And if something doesn’t work out, well, it doesn’t matter, another time I’ll change something, so that it’s already without jambs. So don't think to get upset here. And then we will begin to roar here, we will cry the lake and drown everyone.

arxideia, the house is superb! I immediately thought that Lyuba put up her new house
N @ T @, there are no words...
@Tatyana@
Girls, you are all so clever here !!! Each of you gets your own - a unique house !!! With its own history !!!
And one gets the impression that even according to one and the same drawing, all of you will get them different and unique !!!!
I VERY LOVE and RESPECT those people who create such joy for children (and do not buy them - made by someone else's hands and it is not clear with what mood and in what conditions). Nowadays, you can only trust your relatives and friends, since there are many people who do not have an elementary conscience ... Therefore, what I do - I do from fresh and natural products +, if possible, in a good mood and with good thoughts, otherwise the result can be very, very surprising.
Well, I'll show you my first houses. I made them for my godson and the youngest nephew on December 19. I conquered the ginger dough for the first time and made one mistake - during the kneading process I did not make sure that all the sugar melted, therefore, during baking, there were specks of sugar that made my cookies not as strong as they should be, and as a result, the roofs of both houses caved in slightly (in the photo you can see the curvature of the roofs), of course, I made a conclusion and next time I will not repeat my mistake, but this does not calm me down now ...
And I could have decorated it much better, but since I am now in the ninth month (soon in the hospital for a second crumb - I hope at least for the new year), my good health now very often began to fail me and elementary things are given with difficulty therefore already whole for nine months I haven't made my favorite cakes

Thanks for the recipe for the gingerbread dough Lena under the nickname "lenkor" - really VERY tasty !!!

PS. The quality of the photos is very bad .... but it's good that at least there is such a thing, since the batteries in the fotik were completely zero and I barely managed to capture these first-borns. It's a pity, of course, that you can't see what transparent windows ... they are made of caramel ...
Yeah ... in real life they look much brighter and more spectacular than in these pictures

Tanyusha, namesake, what a beauty! I would never have thought that the first house was very neatly, expertly made. So this is what you did for the current December 19? Well, you finally can be a hero!
And the windows would be cool if the backlight was done.I wandered around the market during the day, looking for something to shove inside. Found only one type of backlit key chains. But this thing heats up so well, you won't turn it on for a long time. Sellers sent me to the radio market. On Tuesdays, you can find the type of handicraftsmen there who can assemble something tidy LED from individual parts. And I myself do not screw in this.
I think we should make a hole in the roof for a chandelier in the house.

probably put my heart and soul into them! Still, they would not be beautiful, after all, they did it together; - Yes, of course, it is better to avoid baking and stand less near the oven. You need to take care of yourself, and the dough is not very easy to roll

Yes, I did them this year and I gave them away on the 18th evening (the day before yesterday), and yesterday the godfather called and said that when the little ones woke up and saw gifts under the pillows, they said that it was Saint Nicholas who came to them from that house under the Christmas tree - "see, mom, he still forgot to close the door - probably in such a hurry? !!!"

Yes ... Vera is 100% - I definitely don’t bring the atoms until January 7, 2014. for ultrasound, the PDD was set on January 7 - I am now at 38 weeks, at this time many women are already giving birth. I’m afraid I’m not going to hit it on December 31st, so I’ll probably endure it with pastries. (although my hands itch, itch, - I really missed cake making .....).

Quote: Prus - 2

... Merry, joyful New Year to you and your children (I hope, already two)!

THANKS, THANKS !!!!!! ..... yes, two !!! The second lyalya is !!!! but for now, in myself, it’s really interesting when she will ask for the light of God, and I wonder if this is a daughter or a son? At the same time we were not told the sex of the child on the first two ultrasounds, so we decided not to go to the third planned one - let it be a surprise for us. We already have a daughter, and we will be glad to have one more beauty, or doubly - if it is a son!
Quote: Mona1

But I thought, we have not seen any miracles here in this Temka, just fabulous and magical, but the greatest miracle, fairy tale and magic is the miracle of the birth of a new baby or baby. Especially if this miracle is born during the magical Christmas-New Year period. Health to you and your baby!

Thank you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Until I got hold of dies and rolling pins, so I drew with a knife before sending the workpiece to the oven.

Yes, the rolling pin is expensive, it is not so often needed, but I would buy a die. Doesn't come across.

I built my house on a cardboard box and covered it with foil, cut out a circle in the cardboard with a molar knife along the diameter of an LED candle and inserted a candle into this circle. I bought these candles in a boutique with souvenirs.
This is how the candles look

This is what we bake and write here, and how many girls are sitting in the bushes - just going to bake !? And someone will look - and the stove is not going to, but will want, and will do, and join us!
I, pushing the branches of the bushes, want to ask: how much time does it take to make one house? and another thing: the dough is not tough? like Tula gingerbread or not? How to store up to NG?

I saw in the cream theme on Mama Max's cake and lit up in a similar way to decorate a custom-made cake, so I ran here, admiring your beauty! trying on so to speak.
Quote: Prus - 2

It takes me 3 days to cook without straining: in the first I make the dough (then it stands in the refrigerator until the next day), in the second - I bake, in the third - I collect and decorate (it takes about an hour to assemble, to decorate - 3 hours. But I do it very slowly.). It can stand for a very long time, in the topic about gingerbread I read that even a year! I had 2 months last year. At first, the gingerbread is hard, and after 3 - 4 weeks it begins to "ripen" - it becomes softer and very, very fragrant! The strong smell of spices from the gingerbread is an indicator of readiness for use. We store in a transparent packaging for flowers (otherwise dust will settle) - we buy from flower owners. Here in the photo - 2 packed houses:
Gingerbread house (how to assemble and decorate)
I was carried away by the houses and did not even say hello, getting out of the bushes. Hello everyone!
Lyuba, THANKS for your answer!
During this time, I made a drawing of parts and became even more entrenched in my desire to make houses

How many small (sides 10 -12 cm) houses come out of the dough recipe from Gerda?
Is it possible to get by with a minimum of spices, or will it be another song?
Quote: Prus - 2

From 4 portions of dough, I made 5 houses 15x20x30 (height) + 3 sheets of gingerbread. The substrates for the houses were baked from ordinary shortcrust pastry. And you can add much more spices, it will only benefit the dough! I, instead of pinches, poured in 2 - 3 teaspoons.
What do you think the price of gingerbread houses is if you bake to order? like cake, by weight or not? this is a rather laborious process.
vorobyshek
I want to hide the "Rakhat" cake inside the gingerbread house. Is it possible?
Quote: Elya_lug

vorobyshek, I don’t know this particular cake, but you can hide any cake. In the magazine cake deco number 1 (10) there is an MK "Pack a winter fairy tale" 🔗
articles do not open, only titles are visible. Do you need to register there to see?
Quote: Elya_lug

Surname, they don't open, it's just a table of contents. I just showed the cover of a magazine that has MK. You can buy it in internet stores and see MK. The meaning of MK is this. what is going to cake. and then, as it were, sheathed with gingerbread blanks. In MK, this is a 6-sided box.

girls, hello! My icing turned yellow on the house. What's my mistake? Somewhere already wrote about this, I can not find.
Quote: sparta

Ver, lemon and vanilla have not been added to icing?
I got yellow one year from lemon ... once from vanilla sugar. After this experience, I try not to put lemon and vanilla sugar in icing.
Of course I added both. In addition, icing also spent the night in the refrigerator (I did not master the house until the end yesterday) And today I finished it. And now it's yellow in places.
Quote: Prus - 2

Verochka! : ng5: I put in citric acid and vanillin (not vanilla sugar!) - I have never turned yellow! Well, I take the powder from Cradle in Skladik - finely dispersed.

Sorry, didn’t specify ... I’m lemon juice ...
Most likely it was vanilla sugar that gave such a reaction. I also poured juice on the first house, but I forgot to put vanillin and nothing turned yellow. Girls, today on STB in advertising showed that next week (maybe even tomorrow, I did not understand) in the program "All will be good" (broadcast at 16 o'clock) Tatyana Litvinova will "sculpt" a gingerbread house. Apparently, we spied on So, do not miss it, if anyone is interested.
Quote: ledi

Is it interesting and cool so on napkins, that is, without any cakes on the coasters?
Small figures on gingerbread stands, there is a special recess for them. They can be rearranged as you like.
Galina, thanks for the praise! I bought Teskom's set from our city in one of the stores, they have direct deliveries from Teskoma.

Girls, I want to say about storage. I have been baking gingerbread cookies for several years and always keep them laid out on a tray (as in the photographs) and they do not dry much, the glaze does not lose its appearance, in a word, the quality is very satisfying. If stored in a humid environment (with fruit?), The glaze will damp and become loose. And dry, although it crumbles when eaten, does not change its appearance.

More about assembling the gingerbread. I baked pieces for two gingerbread cookies. One herself collected for bitter chocolate (75% cocoa), the other for caramel. My chocolate holds like cement, and my daughter's caramel has flowed in places ... though the house is still holding, but I have already drawn conclusions for myself. Again, it is very, very convenient to fasten oiled parts with tailor pins before gluing them together !!! I connected it and went to bed, removed the pins in the morning, the house stands evenly and firmly.

I will write my impressions ... I made gingerbread dough from Gerda and according to two other recipes, one of which with cocoa.Everything is tasty, but from Gerda the most pleasant and spicy-aromatic. She kneaded the dough in the evening in KhP, put about half of the flour, then put the still liquid-smeared dough into a bag and put it in the refrigerator overnight. In the morning she baked her own products. In the evening, I decorated the parts themselves with icing, collected them in an hour, if it was a house. icing according to the recipe 2 proteins and 300 g of powder, flavoring dripping "Caramel", very pleasant smell, did not add acid. I glued the house on chocolate icing. I collected 3 large houses, 3 small ones, and many gift sets - two balls for a Christmas tree and a horse-symbol of the year. I will put the photo later.

Julia, thanks for the details! I also have such a flavoring agent, I will add.

Tatyana81 !
There is no recipe for chocolate icing - chocolate icing in disks is sold at Cradle in Skladik for 44 UAH / kg:

Black confectionery glaze in disks (Ukraine) - 44 UAH / kg

High fluidity black confectionery glaze. Glazing of marshmallows, candy bodies, flat or embossed cookies, does not require tempering.
Ingredients: sugar, vegetable fat, cocoa powder, lecithin, flavor. salt.
Expiration date: until 05/08/2014
and in Russia you can take cheap chocolate figurines. We heat the chocolate glaze in a water bath (pour boiling water into a saucepan or bowl, put it on the table, put a bowl of chocolate glaze in it and stir it with a spoon while it warms up. Carefully - make sure that no water gets into the glaze - it curls up!). When it becomes fluid, apply a thick brush to the joints, press and wait for several minutes. Grabs very quickly! Does not melt up to 37 * environment!
Yes, that's right. Only I smeared with a many little spoon, like a coffee spoon, poured thinly on the joint.

Girls, what a hard worker you are! Your houses are amazing - real masterpieces, delicate, neat, beautiful! Every day I look into this topic, how much work has been applied to create such magic.

Era - Checkmark!
Thanks for the praises, it's so nice! And it's not too late to do it! Last year I made the 2nd house just before the New Year - between 25 and 26. Perfectly ripe!
Yes, today I found this on the Web - how to accelerate maturation:
"Gingerbreads can be stored for a month or a year (with glaze, it is better to be careful). Store better in tightly closed tin boxes. I bake in the twentieth of December. We eat at Christmas (7.01) After baking \ assembly, the gingerbread is oak. They need to settle, they need to ripen. I wrap the house in foil as a gift. The longer they stand, the softer. Provided that they are packed or in a box. For softness, put a cut apple with them for a day, or put a glass of water (also not in the open air, but in The right amount of moisture will quickly pick up and become soft. " With regard to water, the question is - how will the icing like it?
Quote: Era

Lyubasha, thanks for the quick, detailed answer! After your words, I will probably decide on a gingerbread house, I was so impressed by your masterpieces that I will be exhausted until next New Year, I will dream of houses. It's even better at Christmas, children and grandchildren will be visiting, they will come.

Lyuba, to pack in order for the gingerbreads to brew, do you need the houses already assembled and decorated with icing? Did I understand correctly? Or just gingerbread, and cover with icing later, when infused?
Collected! A couple of pages back there is a photo of how I was packing (from dust), but it turned out that it should have been! To ripen. And you can speed up - put the cut apple in there! And about some water - Elya_lug right - how will icing behave? We will not take risks! Good evening hostess! All such smart girls, you make such beauties, and I never baked any gingerbread or houses, and then the devil pulled my daughter to show your pictures, I got in general yesterday I kneaded the dough according to Gerda's recipe, the stone turned out to be hardening, I thought I ruined it, I lay in the fridge overnight, it became harder, but then it warmed up a little, rolled out. I cut out parts of a small house from a cardboard, baked it, it was immediately soft, I cut out the doors and windows and everything hardened very quickly, in general, I sort of coped with the first part. Most of all I was struck by the smell, I never felt such a delicious smell, it's just divine, I don't really like gingerbread, that's why I didn't bake, but now I will bake only for the smell. Tomorrow I will try to build a house and decorate, I have a question if New Year's, the children will want to eat it, it will be still hard, can it be stored in cellophane so that it becomes softer and faster?

Here are the girls and my first house, it was very exciting to decorate it!
The window was filled with caramel, but the sun got in and it melted .. alas

What a wonderful house, but you can have a close-up photo of the roof, there is such an elegant drawing, I want to see it closer.
Okay, girls, I'll be free to do a photo shoot and post it!
Tanya, as promised, the roof of the house is closer, the photos are really not very clear ...Gingerbread house (how to assemble and decorate)

Lyubashenka! Thank you for the new pattern - it will be very useful for us next year, and for someone even now!
Ksynya! What a house! With embroidery, and what icing I did - just fluffy snowball! Wonderful!

Girls, hello! and I will show my kindergarten houses to my daughters as crafts. for the house all hands do not reach, there is absolutely no time. Loravo's ginger dough is wonderful! last year I did it from Gerda, before goodbye - with a superkuk.

Lyuba, it seems you wrote that for icing you beat the protein and then add sugar and beat it again? for me this is frankly a great discovery! I just thought that you can't whip icing, just rub the protein with powder, otherwise it will be fragile. (well, except for the recipe from the icing king - but beat it not at a high speed, but at a low speed) please tell me, does the icing that is whipped just as tightly hold, does the house crumble?

Gulechka, beautiful houses - the hand of the master is immediately felt! Very confident and beautiful painting - we (the majority) have a long way to go. Regarding icing - in the last batch - yes, I beat it at high speed. But at first - on a small, and at the end a little bit on a large. I wanted to finish quickly. But the quality of icing was not affected. Maybe in curly butterflies it will burst, but here - like iron (after complete drying). Try to make 1 squirrel - see what you get. If you like it, I will be very happy.
Ksyusha, you shouldn't play with caramel! Has the window melted? So can the joints. And at the wrong time. By the way, if you read the topic - caramel windows are melting for everyone! The marmalade holds up normally.
Lyubochka, thanks! this is just an invaluable experience, it will certainly come in handy!
oh and to the master, I still have to walk to China))) but thanks for the assessment of my crooks))) I did it quickly and by eye.someday, if I have a free minute, I will try to make real beauty, but this minute is not foreseen yet ((((

Oh, and I'm tired of these marmalade windows. I bought some marmalade and my windows are bigger. I did it this way and that, then I spat. I think, well, why am I suffering. I cut out pieces from parchment for baking, and sprinkled them on the openings with melted chocolate icing. Straight song, Turned on the light, the windows are on straight! Tomorrow I'll take a picture and show it, just finished the houses, but it's too dark for pictures in the kitchen.
Lyubochka, thank you very much for the science, you infected me six months ago, when you posted your creations in the Temka cartoon Dex 60. All these six months I could not sleep.

Girls, well, I gave the weight of the powder! For a large protein (egg C1) - 150 g of powder!
With such proportions, the icing turned out to be too liquid and flows strongly. I added powder and a lot.
Well, okay, in February I go to study in icing with super professionals (only I don't mean that we are not professionals here), it's just that the training format is different. When you see it live and try it yourself, it’s easier than explaining it in absentia. I hope I will find answers to all my questions there.

Liquid and flowing icing could only be if you did not whip the protein. When the protein is whipped, everything is fine - the consistency is almost like Wet meringue!
I already beat the second portion, as you wrote. The main thing is that as a result, the house is ready and the child likes it!))))

Lizochka! And it turned out very pretty for you - the house of a forest gnome or someone else pretty - let's say an old forest man! This is the kind of association! Yesterday I ran between the kitchen and the computer, first of all I tried to answer about the door!
Lyubochka, I didn't even breathe on that door, I just glued it on and fixed it on the icing it was, and I went to bed myself. And in the morning, this door seemed to dry up and kept normal, even moved the road.
And my daughter was making a snowman from salt dough while I was busy with the house (or have I already told this?))))
And yet, Lyuba, if not for you, my hands would have dropped already. Thank you very much for your support, advice and help!
