I also advise you to take more volume, I have a chest, I am satisfied - this is not the right word!
Such beauty, froze just a little last summer: greens, fruits, vegetables (raw and baked), corn (incredible yummy!), I store frozen kefir (I suddenly want to make cottage cheese - no problem), broth (very convenient!), Cottage cheese, fresh tomato juice (not boiled, but raw), whole tomatoes, slices and cubes, and much, much more! Now I want to buy baskets to sort out by topic (by type) and everything will be fine!
Lika_n
Natasha, look at 7 boxes, I have an atlas, I don't have enough :)) last year I generally wanted to buy a couple for it only for meat, since only fruits got into this one, while I have another 50 liters in the hall.
Bast1nda
Girls, thanks! I didn’t know there were baskets in the chest ..... This needs to be considered.
And the volume means 220 liters is it a little bit?
Lika_n, here I am about the Atlant and I am writing, this is it for 220 liters, and there is 150, between them I rush. But I read the topic and realized that the girls also started, first one freezer, then the second shallow and then oh-pa immediately big and write what is more convenient. Isn't the compressor making a lot of noise?
Natusichka, yes, we love fish and go specially to buy packaging and every time I have a problem of how to shove it in the freezer, although the freezer of the refrigerator is not small for me.
I can't do stew, because there is nowhere to freeze.
In general, we went to touch them with our hands in the store.
If anyone else has any thoughts, I will be glad to write.

But I read the topic and realized that the girls also started, first one freezer, then the second shallow and then oh-pa immediately big and write what is more convenient.
now, if I had a surplus of money and apartment space, I would do this - instead of two 250-liter indesites, I would buy several freezers of 60 liters, well, 90 liters

I already had a 60-liter Biryusa since Soviet times, well this is maaalooo

the motivation for this opinion of mine - for me, freezers, first of all, are a place for storing garden supplies, that is, within a year they disappear, space in freezers becomes free

now i have the smaller freezer turned off

that would be good - empty one freezer, turn it off, start the next one - well, something like this, of course, you won't be able to climb into different freezers, but in small freezers it is easier to access food, and it is more convenient to dump the rest of the two freezers into one , faster, easier

but!!! - the cost of 2 large freezers is much lower

two indesites for 540 liters = cost about 40,000
the cheapest then freezer Saratov for about 100 liters (pretty, compact, narrow) = about 11,000

and so it turns out that 500 liters of Indesites are cheaper than 500 liters of Saratov

and there is less space for 2 large ones and fewer motors - electricity consumers

yeah, and more - in not large freezers, more often not shelves, but retractable trays, which is much more convenient - it is more convenient to get food and a better overview

why freeze it ... just freeze the meat and stew it from time to time, which is well worth it in the refrigerator
Svetta
Bast1ndaPlease note that freezers from different manufacturers with the same external dimensions can have (and often!) different volumes of the chamber itself. This results from varying wall thicknesses.
Irsha wrote right about the drawers on the shelves. Ideally, this is a stationary shelf with a plastic box on it.When I do not have enough volume in the freezer, I take the food out of the drawer and simply put it on the glass shelf - without the drawer, the useful volume becomes larger. As soon as it gets a little freer, I reinsert the drawer.
You also need to pay attention to the presence of a compartment for the pallet on which to freeze dumplings / dumplings. When I was choosing a freezer, I wanted with such a tray, but then I thought that I make dumplings very rarely, and this compartment will take away the useful volume. I chose a freezer without such a function and I don't really regret it. I have adapted to freeze what I need just in a small plastic container, which I chose according to the size of my box and put it there for freezing and then pour it.
I am writing this about my 107l Liebherr freezer and small dimensions, it has 4 drawers. For this size of freezer, it was important for me to take into account all the nuances. I'm mega-happy with the freezer, I can't hear it even in silence, it takes only (!!!) 138 W a year, which is also important. It can also be placed close to furniture, which is impossible in most cases in other brands of freezers. It is in my closet and does not interfere.
And as he writes Irsha-Irochka, in the spring my freezer is losing weight and the leftovers are moved to the freezer of the refrigerator. I turn off the little freezer and mine.
Bast1nda, I have a family of 2 people, me and my husband, so I have enough (well, almost enough) such a small freezer. Although in the fall I start to get angry and annoyed at myself that I did not buy a freezer for a couple of more boxes.

If it is in a closet (that is, in a confined space and is not a built-in), then alas, it no longer takes 138 watts. (
Svetta
Lena, there is not a completely enclosed space - there is no back wall and specials are made in the side wall. vent. holes, and no closing door. I built the freezer into the closet I designed myself. And she has such a capacity declared on the nameplate, this is a pure German, I also checked the power consumption on the Internet using the model. Well, let it take not 138, but 200 kW IN A YEAR!!! Great !! Smart girl!
And then it's already worn out to read how they will cork an ordinary refrigerator with a grate in the back into a cramped niche, blocking the ventilation from all sides, and then complain on the forums that it works without turning off, it eats energy with a ladle, and cannot get the temperature. Like, we left him 5 centimeters behind, as the manufacturer ordered.

I agree, minuscule!
You need to measure your wattmeter.)) But our model is simpler, on a Chinese compressor .. I hear how it hums, the piggy is like that. ((But we have it in the "closet", so it doesn't interfere. It freezes brutally, I haven't set it below 18 degrees yet, and without that, it is better not to meddle with frozen food with bare hands.))

When choosing, too, between Liebherr and Atlanta tossed about. I don’t remember why I left Atlanta .. It seems that there was no model available with electronic regulation, and Liebherr’s consumption was cooler.
Svetta
Lena, so I did this
Freezer selection
vent is visible from the side. holes that can be closed. It is this model that is suitable for placing furniture in a row without gaps, its walls do not heat up (!), So ventilation is not needed. But in the closet I still made 5 cm gaps on the sides and a gap above the freezer to the closet of 7 cm.Well, there is no back wall in the closet and the freezer is 5 cm to the wall.
Here the gaps are clearly visible

This is a bit of a misnomer. Everyone needs ventilation. If the refrigerator consumes electricity and generates heat from it, then the heat from the refrigerated zone must certainly be removed (splits out there generally hang their compressor out on the street). And it doesn't matter where the condensers are located in the refrigerator. Because if the refrigerator is sealed with the back wall with a grate, then the heat will not disappear into nowhere, it will continue to heat the refrigerator from the outside.

In reality, it can be different, we also have one refrigerator, completely sealed up to the waist. But understanding the essence of what is happening will not hurt so as not to exaggerate requirements.)

I thought and thought.)) Just unconsciously. It is clear that a liter is cheaper for inexpensive devices, but you also have to sacrifice something pleasant. I've come across some generally inexpensive freezers, for which consumption was declared a couple of times higher than that of this my Liebherr, for example.
Or no freezing capacity. Or the duration of "keeping cold". Or the organization of the internal space did not suit ...
Lika_n
and in Atlanta there are not full four shelves .. the lower one is small because of the compressor, I have a 7204 model and it is not enough, a large box (BIG BOX) is very convenient for something large.
from the top it happens that it is not convenient to get it .. I am smaller than a freezer, so I keep there pepper for the filling .. or a small freeze .. opened it, took it without digging.
The only thing I hear is how it turns on (maybe this is my feature), but I also hear Liebher in the kitchen.
Svetta
Bijou, Len, for 2.5 years I was convinced that this arrangement of my freezer turned out to be correct. She freezes as the scoreboard shows, and consumes energy almost according to the passport. It may not work for other models. You write correctly about heating, but I really don't get heat from the freezer and the walls are not even warm.
Once we sat without light for 3 days, so my freezer did not defrost! It just got warmer, but it was frozen.
I can set it to -27, but I keep it at -18.

Super!
And for our old Sharpe with noufrost, the freezer began to melt after a few hours. ((But it's understandable - in the same place crevices air ducts inside between the refrigerator and freezer chambers.

I have no experience with no-frost freezers, so I didn't dare to buy one. Although they write all sorts of good things in this regard, they still thought that in the deathly corked classics, this case could be better.

Well, the price was not the least important. I’m not ready to pay 60 thousand or more for a freezer with no-frost even once, is it how expensive frosts will turn out instead of saving?)))

Irsha, I like indesite in terms of performance and quality of plastic, it is not as fragile as those of the same Nords, but class B in consumption, of course, would already need A, but they do not release new items, and they produce class B.
Today we have traveled a bunch of chain stores, because the site data and what is available do not match. The choice is not just meager, but VERY scanty, one or two models each!
And either small by 100 liters or huge at all. I got my bearings in my refrigerator, thought and why am I toiling, read my passport in my 117 liter freezer, well, I realized that I would like more.
About Liebher, by the way, there are a lot of them, BUT there is no service, hence, if something happens, you have to wait VERY long. And again, there are two models available, the rest are on order, but how can you order them without seeing? I would like to touch first.
Unexpectedly I liked BEKO, but Turkey! The quality is excellent, but there will be no more spare parts and I will get it like with a Zelmerovskaya cartoon, when Russia was simply denied spare parts and the money was returned to me, that's just the end of everything, so I’m already a scientist, we must take what there are service contracts for. In general, I did not expect such a lack of goods and such difficulties, I don’t remember this for a long time!
Atlantes are not being carried either!
There are Shivaki in the assortment, but for some reason I don't want them.

Now I was reading my throws when choosing a freezer, I came across my old post, where I first defrost my Bosch (refrigerator with separate compressors) manually through ... ta-daaam ... 4 years of operation... And then by accident - the door of the freezer was not closed and the entire open freezer in front was overgrown with an ice waterfall. But the compressor withstood the heat and the freezer very quickly froze back.

Oh well .. We also ordered without seeing and waited two weeks. Usually, all models from one manufacturer are similar in design to each other, and the rest of the details and content with characteristics can be perfectly viewed on the Internet.

The most unexpected thing may be the number and shape of drawers / shelves - in high freezers it happens that there are just shelves at the top. And they come in both glass and enamel lattices.

Girls, and I have a regular Zanussi and the instructions say defrost every three years. I bought it in October and loaded it for a full two weeks, since our market was full of vegetables and fruits at reasonable prices, so today I got blue baked ones, peppers, strawberries and tomatoes with cucumbers for my birthday, there was no ice. A little frost on top. The freezer lives on the loggia connected to the bedroom, it is quiet and does not interfere with sleep. Sometimes he growls like a cat.

Bast1nda, I have a freezer Sviyaga. Simple, not expensive, comfortable. I'm glad. Details are somewhere in the subject. If necessary, I will write again or answer questions.

Chamomile1, thanks, yes, I read it.
A slightly different problem was formed, there is no choice in stores, that's absolutely, there are 2 models each. for example, beko and shivaki, nord and posis, well, etc. and the size or chest or small or giant - indesite. So far, you won't start choosing and buying yourself, you don't even mean that there is such a problem))))) We thought about taking Beko, it seemed like we decided on Friday, we looked at it - I liked the look, the quality of workmanship and materials, and the volume - everything is in the subject , but it turned out that we do not have service and in general spare parts are no longer supplied to us. We decided not to take it.
Shivaki does not like the fact that it is pure China, and even with a foamed back wall - a refusal.
The bottom line.
We bought Liebherr today, we have almost the entire line of them (those that are cheaper in Bulgaria, the rest of Germany and Austria) and there is an authorized service. In general, I'm waiting for tomorrow - they will bring it.

Well, from what happened to choose this one. In the house there will be a chest most likely and of course more.
Excellent choice of freezer. The only thing, I may not understand why, but why the next "maybe there will be a chest"? After all, the only advantage of the chest - "there are no shelves, and therefore a larger useful volume" - this is an ephemeral concept. The chest will take up a much larger area, and you can't put or put anything on top of the chest. And I have a coffee machine on my freezer.
And "digging into the inside of the chest" is a dubious pleasure. Try to get something you need from the bottom!
But the choice, of course, is up to you!
I also have a freezer of this brand, the same volume, but from a premium series. I chose between these two models for a long time, but deliberately, he has an inverter motor and 4 shelves inside. And I want to say that it is the greater number of shelves (this is me about the chest) that allows you to distribute food more rationally, moreover, you can generally remove the glass shelves, pull out the drawers easily and put a whole ram or turkey carcass in the freezer.
But with Atlant, Shivaki and other brands this will not work, because they have pipes with a refrigerant running between the shelves. which reduce the useful volume; Moreover, I met one freezer (I think Saratov), in which the boxes do not go into the grooves in the walls, but lie just on these cooling tubes! Ten times it is enough to take out the boxes - and the pipes will end.
Well, it's cool to glow in the dark with a temperature screen!

By the way, I checked it with a recently purchased wattmeter, mine is exactly the same and consumes exactly the declared 138 kW.
Just keep in mind - this is in storage mode, if you put something to freeze, naturally, energy consumption will increase.
Economically, I think that paying about 2 rubles a day for the safety of food is not such a big expense. Psychologically, we do not perceive the difference of 1-2 rubles!
If you bought your freezer not very long ago, then it is made in Bulgaria, like mine, the compressor is made in Brazil, it is slightly audible only at the beginning of switching on for 2 seconds, then it is practically silent.

Did you keep the freezer stuck into the wattmeter for a year, or did you somehow get this value indirectly?
Once upon a time, I studied the science of Arithmetic in grades 2-4, which allowed me to hold the freezer stuck into the wattmeter for exactly one day, get a direct daily result and then, using a calculator, multiply the result by the number of days in a year and get indirectly the annual !
I will say more, languishing with curiosity, I even began to "perform calculations" earlier - after 6 and 12 hours ...
But the longer the term of the "scientific experiment", the more accurate the calculations, though it is not necessary to abuse, otherwise some perfectionist can wait a year
Bijou
Gee. Then what kind of "consumption of exactly stated 138 kW" can we talk about? No, well, in the first approximation, it is, but then why not stop at the measurement for five minutes, for example?

It still shows about half a kilowatt per day for me, but it would be necessary to distort and repeat the experiment, I got confused in the timing. and there was no warm (not to mention hot, since it was "T" -class) weather. ((Liebcher at 165 cm.

Do you understand what's the matter, within 5 minutes the freezer may stupidly not turn on, which will lead you to indescribable delight - consumption "0" !!!
Therefore, I wrote that the longer the measurement period, the more accurate the result. So the intermediate calculations (I confess, I began to measure and count from 2 hours, and 6 and 12 hours), I was convinced of this - there were discrepancies.
It seems to me that during storage there is practically no dependence on the amount of products, here the main factor is the heat transfer coefficient, and it remains constant for the walls. Rather, I will say this, there is dependence, but insignificant.
For a day, I ran (I don't remember exactly now) either 0.35 or 0.38 - which gives 130-138 kW per year, which confirms the passport data.
Of course, my wattmeter is not professional, but the accuracy is quite sufficient. So I stuck the freezer into the wattmeter, and he himself calculates the amount of kW spent for the required period of time - I was not interested in instantaneous power, although it shows it too. Moreover, he, after all, a parasite, can also calculate the amount in rubles, and even at two rates!
I am ashamed to ask, how did you measure?

Before me, too, was the question of buying a freezer. I thought for a long time which one to stop, in the pre-crisis period I would buy something from Liebher or Samsung, and since now their prices are cosmic, I decided to stop at Atlanta. I chose the 7204 - 160 model. And the volume is good 243 liters and the energy consumption class is A +. It contains 7 boxes and one larger Big box. It works quite quietly, because there is no place to put it except the room. Now I can't take a picture of it outside my home.

Please tell us. How is defrosting arranged there? Noufrost or regular defrosting? If usual, how fast is it?
Why am I asking - there are freezers in which the evaporator (the one that brings the cold into the chamber) is located in the walls. Then, for defrosting, it is enough to leave the cabinet open for 15 minutes, the ice crumbles in layers, we scoop it dry into a basin and everything is finished - we push the boxes with food back.

And there are some according to the pictures, where the evaporator is located inside the chamber, under shelves or drawers. In my humble opinion, such a quick defrost will not work - you have to wait for the ice to melt and soak the water from the bottom, because the ice grows through this grate.

For some reason, we do not find Atlantis in our stores, and this question interests me very much, because I absolutely do not want to buy or even advise my friends a camera with such problems in defrosting. So I'm looking for information where I can.

I have such a freezer - Zanussi. Defrosts very quickly. At first I thought the same way as you, but in practice it turned out to be wrong. And in order not to rake out the water at the bottom of the freezer, I leave the lowest drawer and then the melting water accumulates in it. Then I pour the water out of the box and that's it.
The repairman also told me that these freezers are easier to repair.
NataliaVoronezh
Flax, somewhere falls off, somewhere flows down.I turned it off and did other things, came up periodically to collect the ice water below.
Bijou
Yeah, so it's still water. ((
I see, thank you very much. Yes, about Zanussi-Electrolux, I also saw this from the pictures. And I probably didn't know about Atlant.

Although fast, it still takes time to melt. And if we do this in the summer, then the products have to be carefully wrapped. Well, or a good way to do it more often, not letting the ice build up in large quantities, and not once every few years, as I do with my refrigerator. True, in a separate freezer, which Liebherr, I feel, will have to do this at least once a year - it only works for seven to eight months from the purchase, and ice has already appeared on the walls.

About the repair - I agree completely! Such "fast" freezers are practically not repaired, because the diagnosis is "leakage in the foamed part." ((

Virgo, maybe off topic, but I will share
I defrost the freezer with a manual steam cleaner. Under a stream of hot steam, the ice thaws a little, and then falls off. There is almost no water. And for these couple of hours I put the food in refrigerated bags (I have three of them), I wrap up what does not fit. But in such a short time, nothing has time to melt.
