I swarmed a risotto with champagne. I went to buy groceries twice and forgot to buy everything. The third time I did it! I was able to open it without any "losses". It turned out well, very tasty, even my daughter, who at first declared that she would not eat anything with onions, in the end admitted it was delicious. I used to make risotto in the microwave and it also turned out well, but I liked it more, really fluffy and with a rich taste. But the trouble is, what to do with the leftover champagne?
Lisichkalal
And I still can't make risotto in a pressure cooker, but I want to.
Risotto in microwave ??? wow))) I recently discovered frying in microwave ovens, but so that risotto ...
And the remnants of champagne are clear, weekend besides))))
biankausa
I'll dig up the recipe, put it in this Temka, it is easy to make risotto in the microwave, but longer than in a cartoon.

And we have no one to drink champagne, my daughter disappears from childhood, but I don’t have something there, I fall asleep from 1 spoonful of alcohol.

The only problem is what to do with the leftover champagne

well, for example, soak some dried fruits in champagne, then stew with sugar, all sorts of nuts, add lemon and orange - and then just eat it, or, for example, stuff apples and cook in our magic pan for a couple of minutes ..

Franky, Lisichkalal Good evening.
I'm thinking of ordering myself such a pressure cooker. Only some doubts arise.
Should or shouldn't it be done.? Are you satisfied with the work of the pressure cooker itself? Or do you still regret such an acquisition?
Before that I had Scarlet-1529. Everything about it was fine with me, except for the quality of the cup cover. And she served me for exactly a year. It was no longer subject to repair. And there is no desire to buy China either.
Franky

I'm thinking of ordering myself such a pressure cooker. Only some doubts arise.
Should or should not do it.
I give a direct answer to a direct question - it's worth it.
A reliable, well-made device that is easy to use.
If the set of offered functions suits you, take it.
I use the saucepan mainly as a pressure cooker and for making yogurt - there were no failures or oddities in the six months that I had it. If I chose now, the choice would remain the same.
Parents also bought one, but only recently, so there are no statistics yet.
There is still no bowl with a non-stick coating, but I don't need one. Porridge is already well cooked, and I bake pies in the oven :-)

Quote: Coil
And China is no longer to acquire
desires.
It is also made in China. As well as 90 (if not more) percent of all household appliances sold all over the world, including Europe.
It's just that China is different, as has already been discussed at this forum. IPhones are also made in China. But if a company, whose proud name bears this or that device, is able to demand AND control quality, there is nothing terrible in this. The Germans, for example, grumble about "Made in China" on a completely different matter: namely, because factories, and therefore jobs, disappear in Germany and appear in China.

If you have specific questions - ask!
Coil
Franky, Thanks for the quick response. Boom to order. Oh, just wait 10-12 days
Franky
Coil, Hurrah! we are waiting for impressions, reports and so on.

Yes, through him. They just don't send them to Ukraine directly. I will order through the firm of an intermediary supplier. And of course, the customs tax will have to be paid, because the goods cost more than 150 euros. (the difference between the cost of the goods and 150 euros) It doesn't work otherwise.
Lisichkalal
Vika, I don't have this typewriter.
biankausa
I fully subscribe to Franky, This vessel is to be! I have had it for a year and a half and the bowl is like new, it works well, it is mainly used for stewing, sometimes soups, often I make kefir there. It is so thick from farm milk, it costs a spoon. I tried the oven, but didn't like it. Not all porridges are obtained, for example, semolina is collected in a slide in the middle, and I somehow cooked millet for about an hour and a half. But he cooks milk soups perfectly, well, there are no problems with steaming.
It is easy to wash the bowl, even if it is burnt, water + soda and boil for 5 minutes. And after preparing kefir, the bowl itself shines.
Like this.

so, the millet porridge turned out to be absolutely perfect. 1: 4, water mixed with milk, on the Porridge program, 15 minutes. Absolutely not burnt, not even stuck anywhere. Offset
Hurrah! and I did it. Thank you very much. And then I am a beginner with a pot and before that I already got something incomprehensible from semolina and corn. And here is such a yummy!

That's it, I ordered an additional bowl and a sealing gum, the payment went through, now we are waiting for a new device

boils potatoes, steamed cheesecake, a couple of times beef goulash and roast chicken
And you can ask more questions:
Boiled potatoes - on what mode and for how long?
And can you tell us more about steamed cheesecake?

Franky
Irochka-Irishka, there is no semolina porridge, but I wouldn't cook it in a pressure cooker, it cooks so quickly. Although let them correct me.
The cheesecake from my book turned out to be quite edible, but no more. But the pressure cooker has nothing to do with it, it's just the recipe. Cheesecakes for pressure cookers are damn cloud, including on our forum. Focus on recipes for Steba DD1 or DD2, everything is very similar.
In our pressure cooker, I usually only use the Manual mode, usually at high pressure and set the time.
I steam boiled potatoes: a glass of water in a bowl, then a steam basket with potatoes, I divide large potatoes in half. 10 minutes at high pressure, Manual mode. Then bleed off the steam right away and you're done.

Cooking times for different foods can be found in the recipe brochure at the end. Please note that the cooking time under pressure depends primarily on the size of the "pieces" of the product (for example, small or large potatoes, goulash or meat in a piece, etc.), and not on their total amount in the bowl (0.5 kg of potatoes or 1.5 kg ). The total amount of food (= the amount of liquid in it) depends only on how quickly the pressure cooker reaches the required pressure.
Coil
Hello everybody. Yesterday they brought us a pressure cooker.

Today I'm doing my first experiment.
I cook pork tongue (three pieces). I chose the soup program, cooking time - 40 minutes, pressure - high. Tongue threw frozen (specially)
The water covered the tongues by 0.5 cm. The water is cold. The pressure cooker took up temperature and pressure for 20 minutes.
Let's see what happens.

Posted Saturday 11 Jun 2016 02:37 PM

So the pork tongue is ready. The tongue is soft. I am happy with the result.
The pressure cooker relieved the pressure on its own for 10 minutes.
The total cooking time for frozen tongue is 40 + 20 + 10 = 70 minutes.
So I think that for a thawed tongue, you need to choose a cooking time of 20 minutes, at high pressure, soup program.
Franky
Coil, congratulations on the first test
Coil
Franky, Thank you.
I figured out the work of this device.I like.
The only thing I don't really like is that the instructions say that the lid itself cannot be washed, but you can only wipe it from the inside with a damp cloth. Maybe I misunderstood ...
Yesterday I also cooked borscht in it. Fortunately, there are two bowls. But the O-ring and the lid on the inside were still clean after cooking the borscht. The bowl was filled to the maximum mark and I relieved the pressure forcibly. Although the instructions say that on this program (Soup) this is done low
By the way - I fried onions, carrots and beetroot in a bowl on the Saute program with the lid open, and then added all the other products and broth and switched to the soup program, cooking time 10 minutes. pressure - maximum, lid closed
I want to try to cook yogurt in it (I never cooked it), but while I’m studying the process of its preparation and the sourdough is still not at home.

And yet, when they unpacked the pressure cooker and opened it (before the first preparation), there was no smell of rubber at all, there was not any foreign unpleasant smell at all. Additional ring, the same has no smell. Honestly, I was surprised.

Coil, congratulations on your new assistant!

I glanced at the instructions again - to be honest, I did not see anything like that. It is said to wash with dishwasher water and then clean water and wipe dry immediately. You can only put a bowl in the dishwasher. Well, the device itself should not be dipped in water. Which, in general, is quite natural.
I wipe the lid with a soapy wet sponge and wipe it with sweat. It's a matter of seconds.

By the way, I didn't have a smell either. I didn’t even pay attention to it.

Hello everyone!
I got infected by buying a multicooker about 2 weeks ago. I read the forums, talked to people, I don’t like to choose for a long time - on Saturday (the day before yesterday) I already received my beauty Instant Pot 7 in 1. All weekend passed in testing a device that I didn’t know until now!

In the end: manti (but it was just a test of buttons) are good.
Cutlets in sauce - beyond praise (as in a kindergarten in the USSR, but only from meat): juicy and fluffy! First, I fried it a little on the Saute mode, then stewing on manual setting at high pressure for 10 minutes.

... Then there was rice milk porridge with a delayed start. BUT .... apparently I postponed the start a lot (by 10 hours), the milk sour a little. But, most importantly, the porridge burned a little. Porridge mode. I took the ratio of rice to grain-milk (1: 4). The reason is not enough liquid, or what? Although, in consistency - gut porridge!

The next dish was Rassolnik. Despite the absence of 2 sorts of smoked meat at home, I just cooked it with beef. Let it not be a pickle in the classic version, but the soup was a success! (first, I fried almost all the ingredients and meat with Saute, then added rice (instead of barley), potatoes and poured it not even with broth, but with dull boiled water + a little spices. Soup mode at high pressure for 45 minutes. fragrant and hearty soup (husband ate a double portion)

This morning I decided to cook corn porridge for zatrak (I never cooked it at all, even on the stove). The ratio of rice to milk is 1: 3. Few??? Porridge burned Porridge mode

Girls, tell a novice multicooker user - does the porridge burn because there is not enough liquid? For me, cereals are very important, I myself have breakfast with them with pleasure and try to instill this "love" in my daughter Or maybe there are some other secrets of their preparation in this cartoon?
Lisichkalal
Girls, I'm not confusing anything?, Do you cook everything in a steel bowl?
If so, then most likely it burns because of the bowl. For porridge you need non-stick.
Frosch
Quote: Lisichkalal
do you cook everything in a steel bowl?

I cooked in steel, in a "native" from the pan.But she naively believed that if there is a Porridge program, then how will this be taken into account when cooking, regardless of the material (steel / ceramic / Teflon).
Lisichkalal
It burns in steel ((wait for non-stick to your model
I bought myself a head in Germany with a steel bowl, I cook a little, broth, ham in a ham maker, and that's all, probably ... everything else is in other machines, I'm afraid it will burn in this one
I'm going to Russia, buy a non-stick bowl and then there will be a full-fledged pressure cooker
Irusha
There is a nonstick cup that fits the Instant Pot 7 in 1. I can't paste the link, you can search Amazon for the words Fagor 670042020 Ceramic Removable Cooking Pot.
Frosch
I read here on other different forums that there are problems with the burning of porridge in many models (including those with Teflon and ceramic bowls). They write that you need to adapt, gain experience, and ...milk with water when cooking porridge, mix and in a larger proportion, in relation to the amount of cereals, than used to (or as in the recipe). I will try to change the ratio of products, and add more than one milk ..... I already warned my husband that there will be porridge in the morning until I get it perfectly!

In order not to scare anyone else with the information that porridge is burning (suddenly someone is tormented by a choice and reads all forums in a row with the intention of choosing a suitable device for themselves, and the possibility of making delicious porridge is one of the decisive moments), I inform you:
... this morning I tried again to cook MILK RICE Porridge.
In the evening I soaked rice (0.5 multi-glasses), at 5 in the morning I poured 1 multi-glass of water, 1.5 multi-glasses of milk into the pan, added sugar, salt, plums. oils. That is, the ratio of rice (presoaked) and liquid is 1: 5. I put it on the Porridge program with a delayed start (for 1 hour). The pan itself turned on everything at the right time, cooked it, and while we were "rocking" in the morning, it steamed the porridge for an hour and lowered the stir itself a long time ago. PORRIDGE NOT BURNED!
For my taste (I like liquid porridge), I would STILL add liquid (which I will do next time).

I wish you all new recipes and successful experiments!
Coil
Frosch, congratulations on a good choice.
Our ranks are growing. The pressure cooker is very decent.
Regarding milk porridge - I cook rice milk porridge - the ratio of water to milk is 1: 1, nothing burns. Experimentally, you yourself came to this.
Cook soup for 15 minutes SOUP program - high pressure. This time does not include pressure build-up and pressure release.
Recently I prepared the ventricles - The same SOUP (or MEAT) program and high pressure, set the time to 30 minutes. They turned out soft, next time I will try to set the cooking time to 20 minutes.
Rice - cooking time 12 minutes, it turns out crumbly. I put it on stuffed cabbage at the same time. But the pressure build-up and release takes longer. This is understandable, the saucepan itself is filled to the maximum with cabbage rolls.

I'm still not going to get yogurt
and this is in vain - a cool thing. There are a lot of recipes and cooking options on the Internet. It all depends on the leaven ..
We constantly make yoghurt for 2 liters of milk with probiotoic starter culture, which is added a new one each time. But there are also options for adding a couple of tablespoons of the previous yogurt. I am, to be honest, a small expert in this. I just found "my" sourdough and do it as described in the instructions. I have never had any punctures, but I make yogurt regularly. But in a simple plastic yogurt maker with the same ingredients and cooking method - 2 times will work, the third - not necessarily ... And it turned out only max. 1 liter, which is not enough if it turned out well :-)

But it's great that there are more of us - InstantPot owners :-)
Tanya-Fanya
Froschwhat a fine fellow you are that you are achieving success! Rice has already won
From experience with other multicooker, I wanted to suggest that you pre-grease the drain bowl with oil. For dairy rice porridge, instead of long-grain rice, take round-grain rice so that it is boiled. And about sour milk - it must be cold, water too. Then the cartoon at the delayed start keeps this cold, like a thermos, and the milk will not sour even taking into account the oiled pot. And in a hot summer, it is advised to put ice cubes instead of water. In this case, you do not need to soak the rice, it must be thoroughly rinsed in cold water and it will swell by itself until the morning. This is a smart device, why get up at 5 in the morning, let the cartoon prepare breakfast, and you have another pleasant dream look

I was just taking milk from the fridge and threw a couple of ice cubes. But the delay was 10 hours. I think this is still a bit too much ...
... In general, I woke up some kind of sports interest in cooking. It is interesting what the output will turn out depending on the choice of the mode. Until more and more I "fall in love" with this device.

Girls, only I have this silicone ring on the lid already all "saturated" with vegetable smells, which is a little upsetting. I tried to wipe it with lemon juice and wash it in the dishwasher, it helps a little. Maybe someone knows more radical and effective means?
Franky
Frosch, a radical and effective remedy - buy a second ring and use it only for cereals, milk and sweet. that's what I do - it's convenient. I can't completely get rid of the smell: I wash the ring with soapy water, then wipe it with an orange peel, as someone suggested here. it gets better, but not dramatically.
Irusha
I also bought a second ring
Natapo4ka
Hello girls! Take the new one I am also an Instant Pot owner. I have a pressure cooker for about half a year, but the development is a little slow. Initially, I was counting on a multicooker (to make simple baking, since we do not have an oven), but my husband snatched Pot on Amazon (during the sales period), then we left and somehow stayed with us. So I had to translate the instructions (in case of my complete disappointment and moving the pressure cooker to my relatives).
I want to thank everyone who writes in the topic and uploads recipes, well, this is VERY I need, and very motivating! From the attached recipe book, I cooked Ligurian chicken (we liked it), potatoes with herbs (I like it, but my husband doesn't like the local potatoes in principle), Sicilian sauté (lick your fingers!). I made steamed cutlets (stuffed with fresh mushrooms), but they turned out to be harsh. I think the time was chosen incorrectly (10 minutes), next time I will set it to 5 minutes.
I read your conversation about oatmeal. Today I cooked it. I have instructions on the package of porridge 270 ml of milk + 4 tbsp. l. porridge. The flakes are slightly more tender than regular flakes, like the German Bruggen.

I cooked like this:
pour cold milk into the bowl - Saute + High pressure mode (bring to a boil), press Keep warm / cancel. Add a gram of salt, a pinch of sugar and cereal. Close the lid + Sealing - Porridge + Low pressure for 5 minutes = great porridge!

I let off steam right away, it seemed to me a little too much liquid (I love the almost complete lack of milk), but while I was wearing the plates, the porridge absorbed a little milk. So if you don't open the lid right away, I think it will be even better. The porridge did not burn (well, a white film formed at the bottom (immediately after boiling, but the porridge did not stick anywhere and did not burn).

Also, in the process of mastering the pressure cooker, I downloaded a recipe book for the Moulinex 5011 multicooker-pressure cooker, which is very similar in functionality, there are many interesting recipes. There is such a recipe for oatmeal:
Servings: 4
Preparation time: 5 minutes Cooking time: 10 minutes

• Hercules - 150 g
• Milk - 600 ml
• Butter - 15 g
• Banana - 1 pc.
• Salt to taste
• Sugar - to taste
• Raspberries - 1 handful

1. Add oatmeal, milk, salt and sugar to a slow cooker, mix.
2. Set the mode MILK Porridge for 10 minutes.
3. After the end of the mode, add butter, chopped banana and raspberries to the porridge, mix.
Franky
Natapo4ka, hurray, there are more of us!
Thank you very much for a bunch of useful information and an idea with recipes for Moulinex.
and about steamed cutlets can be more detailed? My experience with cutlets somehow did not convince me - everything fell apart and how boiled they were. Probably, the standard cutlet recipe will not work ... But I did not do this further. And here are the cutlets with mushrooms

Natapo4ka Probably, the standard cutlet recipe will not work ... But I did not do this further. And here are the cutlets with mushrooms

Franky, Thank you for your hospitality! The patties will not be what we are used to if they are simply cooked under pressure. I expected such as from a double boiler (they turned out to be lush and airy). If you want to get closer to the traditional ones, you can lightly fry on Saute, and then close the lid and steam. And just fry, I don't see the point. Although, I do not lose hope to achieve delicious, "steamed" cutlets. If it doesn't work out by reducing the time, I will make cutlets, like for a burger. Should be more accurate.
Here meatballs, it seems to me, will live up to expectations!
PS I'm in search of recipes now. I especially want to try desserts

Girls, I accidentally read in the comments on FB about several additional functions, which are not mentioned in the instructions. it Switching off the automatic heating of food after cooking and Mute the sound and Remembering the settings of the last used program.

The following convenience features were updated after the printing of the included User's Manual.
Slow Cook temperatures adjusted as
• Normal mode: 87.8 ~ 93 ° C / 190 ~ 200 ° F (as in the Normal mode in conventional slow cookers)
• More mode: 93 ~ 99 ° C / 200 ~ 210 ° F (as in the High mode in conventional slow cookers)
• Less mode: 82 ~ 87.8 ° C / 180 ~ 190 ° F (as in the Low mode in conventional slow cookers)
Audible beeping On / Off
• Beeping is On in the factory settings
• To turn beeping Off, press and hold the “-“ button for 3 seconds. The LED screen
shows “S OFF” as in “Sound Off”.
• To turn the beeping back On, press and hold the “+“ button for 3 seconds. The
LED screen shows “S ON” as in “Sound On”.
• Note: Beeping is always On in any error conditions.
Auto Keep Warm On / Off
• Auto Keep Warm is On in the factory settings, when a cooking program button is pressed.
• Auto Keep Warm can now be toggled On and Off by a second press on the same cooking program button, BEFORE the cooking program starts. During this period, the Keep Warm button indicator becomes On or Off corresponding to the toggling action.
Memorizing the last used program settings per cooking program button
• The previously used cooking settings, including time, pressure and temperature, are stored once the custom settings are defined, and even after the Instant Pot cooker is unplugged from power.
• To reset to factory default settings, press and hold the “Adjust” button for 3 seconds, when the Instant Pot cooker is in the Off mode.

Girls, good afternoon, I was going to make yogurt for the first time. I boiled the milk, now I chew it until it cools down. I already pulled out the inner pan, otherwise it would not cool at all. But now the foam on milk, beeee, I hate it since kindergarten, and it won't cool down to 46 degrees. Is that how it should be?
How do you cool?

Hello everybody. Also new. I haven't figured out the device yet. I want to make barley tomorrow and boil pea soup. I read it like that, I realized it seems like 30-40 minutes for soup should be in soup mode. I'll try. If I'll cook something later. But who did that with barley? How much to cook on the porridge mode and a ratio of 1: 4 to water or more? Thanks for answers.
Mathilde
Protero, I didn’t do it myself, but my mother did this in the same saucepan:
Before and transparency, onion and carrots for frying, pre-soaked the pearl, 2 parts of cereal and 3.5 parts of water in onions for 18 minutes
She cuts the onions and carrots finely / grates, I think

True, I wanted her very much before, but now I'm not sure if I need to ... I don't need to bake pies, cereals (millet and oatmeal) do not burn like that.

pulsatilla555, Add. I would order seals right away - due to the fact that rings strongly absorb the smell, it is better to have separately for sweet milk and another for meat and spicy. And then the yogurt may smell like meat (well, in theory, at least)

How do you get along with just a metal bowl? I can't do that in the staff. In any case, two bowls are more convenient.
