Lenok, mother, I say - write the address in a personal. They don't accept wine, so I'll send you tea at least.

lappl1, it burns in my oven
And there is still a question - how to store the cake? In container jars, will not "suffocate"?

Tatyana, in any airtight container for food. If it is well dried, it will not suffocate, but will become even more fragrant. We keep our tea that way. My first fiber in metal jars became so fragrant !!! I wasn't like that at first ..
Tanagris
lappl1, the boss understood everything!
Linadoc
Lyuda, I just don't have the strength ... I have such granules ... such chips ... I'll do it tomorrow.
lappl1
LinochkaI know that you have no strength. You, most importantly, rest, and then you will tell us everything.
ElenaMK
Girls! And what can you do from beet and carrot tops?
francevna
Elena, I cut it and freeze it.
lappl1
ElenaMK, can. Only I wouldn't spin it on a juicer. It will dry perfectly in the dryer. I would do the way we make tea - wither a little in the air so that excess moisture goes away, and then twist it in a meat grinder. The granules should turn out great. If they don't work right away, then after the second scrolling they will definitely be strong. Tomorrow, pick some tops and try to do it?

ElenaMK
Lyudochka! It would be great, otherwise I'm afraid myself, there is no skill :-) so I think what else to do with zucchini ... :-)
lappl1
Helen, go to any tea topic (in my profile you can see - Ivan-tea, for example). There, the whole process of withering and twisting leaves in a meat grinder is shown and described in great detail. Don't be afraid. Everything is very simple. But it is imperative to wither - otherwise the granules will crumble.
And with zucchini I would have done the same as with apples (if there is nowhere to put them). I have few of them this year. Last year it grew so much that I mothballed them in different ways for several years in advance. Therefore, this year I planted only for food.
ElenaMK
I've been reading Temki about tea for a long time and even did a little! Very good! Thank you just incredible! :-)
Tomorrow I will make tops, especially since I read somewhere that carrot is very useful :-)
And so many zucchini have grown that there is already caviar and froze and ate :-) I won't plant so much next year :-)
lappl1
Helen, to your health!
Of course, healthy tops - both carrot and beetroot too. Last year, our girls even made tea from carrot tops. They say that it turned out delicious. So, you need to not waste time and do. And you can try zucchini too, if they already have nowhere to go. In general, experiment. I'm waiting for the result!

And I have scientific experiments in my kitchen today. Conducted a comparative analysis of juicers for the best suitability in dispensing ... marc. So.
Given:
Centrifugal juicer - 1 pc. (I have Kenwood, if chooo). Purchased 7 years ago for 6,000 rubles;
Auger juicer - 1 pc. (Chinese clone). Bought a couple of weeks ago for 1990 rubles in Auchan;
Falling apples - 2 kg net weight (cut into slices in order to remove stubs that will be used to make homemade apple cider vinegar), honestly halved for two juicers.
Well, here is the actual result of the experiment.
The first was the centrifuge. I honestly weighed everything. Here's the proof.

Pomace products: 1) fiber; 2) baking powder; 3) tea additives; 4) tea substitute

With 1 kg of apples coped quickly.

Pomace products: 1) fiber; 2) baking powder; 3) tea additives; 4) tea substitute

The pomace was transferred to another container for weighing and careful examination.

Pomace products: 1) fiber; 2) baking powder; 3) tea additives; 4) tea substitute

The weight of the pomace dispensed by the centrifuge is 341 grams

Pomace products: 1) fiber; 2) baking powder; 3) tea additives; 4) tea substitute

And this is juice.

Along with the foam that goes into the 650 ml vinegar pot

Pomace products: 1) fiber; 2) baking powder; 3) tea additives; 4) tea substitute

The second part of the experiment. A screw juicer and the same peeled kilogram of apples.

Pomace products: 1) fiber; 2) baking powder; 3) tea additives; 4) tea substitute

Even 3g less. We gave the centrifuge a head start ...

Pomace products: 1) fiber; 2) baking powder; 3) tea additives; 4) tea substitute

The process began, the first squeezes appeared ...

Pomace products: 1) fiber; 2) baking powder; 3) tea additives; 4) tea substitute

The process ended very quickly too.

Pomace products: 1) fiber; 2) baking powder; 3) tea additives; 4) tea substitute

These are the kazyavki-worms that are immediately obtained from pomace

Pomace products: 1) fiber; 2) baking powder; 3) tea additives; 4) tea substitute

Pomace products: 1) fiber; 2) baking powder; 3) tea additives; 4) tea substitute

We shift, weigh, get ...

Pomace products: 1) fiber; 2) baking powder; 3) tea additives; 4) tea substitute

Pomace products: 1) fiber; 2) baking powder; 3) tea additives; 4) tea substitute

We get 182 grams

Here are squeezes side by side, for comparison.

Pomace products: 1) fiber; 2) baking powder; 3) tea additives; 4) tea substitute

Well, the juice itself. For the purity of the experiment, it was poured into a glass from a centrifuge. For greater clarity.

Pomace products: 1) fiber; 2) baking powder; 3) tea additives; 4) tea substitute

It turned out together with 820 ml foam. Stirred up juice during transfusion.

Let's summarize the results of the experiment.
From one kilogram of apples we were given:
1) Centrifugal juicer - 341 g of pomace and 650 ml of juice with foam;
2) With a screw juicer - 182 g of pomace and 820 ml of juice with foam (but in this version it is less)

And this is how our worms look after drying. I loaded it to dry last night, turned it off in the morning, because it is completely ready for grinding in a coffee grinder and turning into "chopped fiber"

Pomace products: 1) fiber; 2) baking powder; 3) tea additives; 4) tea substitute

Conclusion to do to you all. Which of them is better, who is worse. I can only say that apples are still more suitable for a centrifuge ... according to the idea ... But the auger coped with them perfectly. And then, as real fiber makers, it is not unimportant for us that the pomace after the auger does not need to be turned into granules using a meat grinder.

Lyudmila, well, you are an innovator. When you only have time to conduct experiments. I am sitting here in the bushes, just honoring you, rejoicing for you, but here I could not remain silent ... you must have such an inquiring mind! While I was reading, I was practically making granules (I have a juicer hoo, 10 minutes a bucket of apples), but unfortunately I read the contraindications and refused fiber. Only yesterday, at one time, I threw away two buckets of apple cake, although, while distilling the juice, I also thought: where to attach such wealth?

kubanochka, Helen, thank you very much for such a necessary experiment! Until then, everything is clearly described and shown that there is no doubt about which juicer to buy. Here I have a centrifugal, and now I wanted a screw.

Ludmila, dried, more than a kilogram of dry cake from a centrifugal juicer and 400 g from a screw. I sent another batch to dry. I have with husks and bones. I rolled up 20 liters of juice, the fight against the harvest is underway. I plan to grind it into powder, while I sealed it in pasta bags with a packer, I have a simple clathronic, it solders with wire. Now, if something is visible. The apples are red, the cake is immediately dark. Pomace products: 1) fiber; 2) baking powder; 3) tea additives; 4) tea substitute
lappl1
Marina, oh, what a hard worker you are! So much done! Well done! Of course, I don't really see it in the photo. but I understand that everything is in order there. The main thing is that the cake has dried perfectly. and you can grind it in winter. Thank you, Marinochka, for the report and photos!

Ipatiya
Ludmilainspirational and very informative post!

Once I read a book on the capabilities of the refrigerator. And there was described a method for drying food in a conventional freezer, simulating industrial freeze-drying. The author drew an analogy with linen, which dries perfectly in the cold. Freeze drying is more high-tech and has more advantages compared to conventional thermal drying, since useful substances are stored in the maximum volume. The author of the invention is the Russian mining engineer Lappa-Starzhenetsky. Here is an interesting story about freeze-dried products 🔗... There was such a thought. In the no frost refrigerator, open food dries quickly as the fan constantly removes excess moisture. You can grind it in a meat grinder, drive out excess moisture in the refrigerator / freezer, again through a meat grinder and dry it in a dryer or in a freezer / refrigerator. It's just that we are not fond of juices, and we want to use the products completely.

Ipatiya, sorry, I didn't answer right away - I was away (and I'm going to leave again). Thank you very much for this useful information. I am familiar with drying food in the fridge and freezer. I even dried mushrooms. Everything turned out great. But this is a very long time - at least 3 weeks, or even more. And my freezer is very small. With such volumes of vegetables, fruits, berries, herbs and mushrooms, which are in season, it is not realistic for me to process all this. But for those who have a separate freezer and not a very large amount of raw materials, I advise you to try. Thanks again for the useful information.
I have a question for you: have you personally tried to dry like this? It would be very interesting to describe your experience.

We are not addicted to juices either. Therefore, the juicer was practically idle. Well, if only for cider to catch up with juice.

Ant, Ira, to your health! I would be very glad if VM comes in handy with this information.

Ipatiya
Ludmila, thank you! Your theme encourages you to look for something new. I haven't tried freezing yet. But I will try to conduct such an experiment.
I read more thoughtfully the information on freeze drying. First, the product is frozen, then placed in a vacuum chamber, where additional heat is supplied. The whole point is for the moisture to evaporate directly from the ice, and not from the liquid state. If we argue purely theoretically, then moisture can be quickly expelled from the frozen state using a microwave.
lappl1
Ipatiya, and thank you !
When I dried mushrooms in this way, of course, I didn't bother too much with any defrosting and heat. And in parallel, my mushrooms were dried in a dryer. Of course, the dryer is unsurpassed in this regard. She dried a bucket of mushrooms per day. And from the refrigerator I received a small handful. I think this method is good for industrial equipment - large volumes can be processed there. Or, at least have a large freezer. In general, I look forward to your experiment. and I think that it will need to be published in a separate recipe. In the meantime, I wish you good luck in this interesting business.

Lyudmila, respect for such a detailed study.
I join with my recipe in your piggy bank.
This year I got a waste-free use of sea buckthorn:
I can say that I am proud of this production, since we will eat apples with peel and bones, but a lot of sour berries will not fit. And here everything is without waste!
Pomace products: 1) fiber; 2) baking powder; 3) tea additives; 4) tea substitute

Our Bosch harvester has a press attachment for pressing berries. I freeze the juice in the freezer for fruit drinks. After that, a wonderful dry cake remains, which I dried and ground on a coffee grinder. Then sifted through a sieve (to separate the unmilled grains). The result is sea buckthorn powder for adding to food. The seeds were used for the sea buckthorn oil infusion. Superuse
francevna
ael, welcome to the forum. Photo
Where do you live in Russia or the CIS? In the Amur Region, I collected large harvests of sea buckthorn, made juice and oil, and threw away the pomace, I did not know then. that they can be used.
lappl1
ael, and thank you so much for sharing your experience in harvesting sea buckthorn in all forms. I am very glad that our thoughts converged in the same direction. The photo is great! And the report is so positive. Stay on our forum. We have so many interesting things here.
ael
Thanks for the kind words! Yes, I have been on the forum for a long time - only as a reader))) It seems that the people have already prepared everything they can - what can I add here!
I'm from Novosibirsk. My last hobby is growing an orchard. It is still young, only next year I expect some trees to bear fruit. But I'm already starting to think about further processing. So far, the press for berries is enough for both berries and ranetki. I also wring out small wrenches on it, without cutting or cleaning, dropping a whole apple into the mouth of the combine. The output is puree without garbage, and a minimum of labor! And the mashed potatoes are immediately dried on the marshmallow in the dryer. I think that the loss of vitamins is minimal with this scheme. As a result, the bucket is eaten in a few days.
francevna
ael, Alina, I had several varieties of ranetki, very tasty compote and jam turned out. And strawberries were planted under the ranetki, it took root easily, it was very fragrant and the yield was high. I would have known at that time about the fact that the leaves can be used.

But what to do with it, with the juice? Can it be stored? I've always thought juicer juice was only good for instant consumption.
Strain from the foam. Boil. Add sugar to taste (optional). Let it boil for 5 minutes and pour into jars. Close the jars with lids. Turn over. Allow to cool. Put away for storage (perfectly stored in the mezzanine or in the closet).
Before use, dilute with water, it turns out very concentrated.
