Yesterday I baked churrosiki according to my custard recipe, only added 1 more tbsp. l. replaced honey and oatmeal with oatmeal. Due to the small number of eggs (1 piece, since I want a more dietary option as possible) there are no large cavities, the structure is denser, porous and they are not dry, I like it. Today I wanted churrosiks with a cupcake consistency
The basis is the same as I have in almost all recipes: 1 egg, 1 tbsp. l. vegetable oil, 1/2 l. soda slaked with lemon juice. And the recipe itself: dried fruits (dried apricots, raisins, prunes - just rinse, do not soak) and walnuts - 150 gr. (finely chop everything together); oat flakes with medium-ground bran (do not grind into flour, but leave it as in a box) - 2 tbsp. l., oatmeal - 3 tbsp. l., honey - 2 tsp., vanillin and cinnamon. The dough turns out to be very thick, and the churros themselves are like real muffins, not soft and not hard, but just right

Anna Navagina, did you put them on a wire rack or plate after baking? If on a plate, then yes, they "sweat" and become not crispy. I put those on kefir on the wire rack and let it cool a little (while the next tab is being baked), they become harder during this time. But after a couple of hours, the crispness disappears, even if nothing is covered.

As an additive, I put spices for pizza and pasta (Santa Maria, Sweden, there are only natural ingredients), it seemed to me very logical to add this particular mixture, since the dough and cheese should kind of make friends with it. I really liked it, especially if dipped in sour cream. Thank you for the recipes and reviews. Next time I will try to add a little ketchup and smoked sausage to the dough (this also seems very logical to me). I can't post a photo yet (although the churros turned out to be charming), now at the end of the school year it is the season of work at school, there is simply very little time. But I will definitely post it. Thanks again to everyone !!! How did I manage to keep this little device in the closet for a whole year ?! The answer is simple - it was necessary to visit your forum a long time ago)))
