So I also did not do anything like that before the first use of the stem. It smelled of plastic. True, only in the air, it did not affect cooking. And recently, after a long break, I turned on the unit, again a plastic scent.
And today I decided to start using a new non-stick bowl. And I remembered the lemon.
Oksanna
And at what point can you remove the foam from the broth? If I close the stem for 30 minutes, will the foam settle to the bottom?
Masinen
Oksanna, will not settle to the bottom, but the foam will be on the top near the walls of the bowl.
When the pressure drops, open the lid and remove the foam.
Oksanna
Thank you )
Oksanna
From the lid, the smell of plastic went. First time cooking ... is it ok?
Masinen
Someone writes that there is a smell, and who has no smell at all, so it's okay.
Oksanna
And the lid at my head is also "sideways". I thought she would sit down exactly when the pressure gained, but it turned out the other way around. "Reckless" more and more. And in the off state she sat straight
Oksanna
But how can I turn it off if the program has not finished yet? Can I check the O-ring? I don’t like to see how her roof wants to fly off
gala10
Oksanna, press the "On / Off" button (bottom left red).
Oksanna
And then release the pressure or vice versa?

And then release the pressure or vice versa?
Wait a little for the temperature to drop, cover the valve with a towel and carefully, with a stick, slowly, under the towel, turn the valve counterclockwise.
Oksanna
When I opened the stem, the ring did not fit snugly around the entire diameter on the metal frame. Perhaps I did the right thing to stop her. I have never had such devices, even simple multicooker. And then boiling under pressure, valves ... I'm a little afraid ... now I'll start a new one. I hope the roof will not go off the staff again. Along the entire perimeter of the lid, a gap of 5 millimeters was formed. Only at one corner was it tight. If she does that again, I'm afraid my roof will go off ...

Everyone is afraid at first. Everything will be fine!

this is how the lid came up the first time. is now rising again. Is this normal or does it (staff) need to be changed? no steam comes out from under it.

Wait to change.
Oksanna
Something I do not see my photo, which I so diligently attached (((maybe this time it will attach ...
Basics of use, questions and cooking times in the Steba DD1, DD2 pressure cooker

in short, is this normal, or does the lid tend to rip off?

SvetaI
Oksanna, the lid of all the stems is slightly sideways, this is normal. And the O-ring is not so tightly seated. If the ring has shifted, then steam comes directly from under the lid, strongly, and the pressure is not accumulated. In this case, the lid can be opened, the ring can be fixed. And if there is no steam from under the lid, the pressure has accumulated, then everything is in order, the flight is normal.
At least in my car it is.
Masinen
Oksanna, and steam does not come from under the lid?
It’s so good for you. As Svetlana wrote, the lid should be lifted.
Oksanna
No steam came out from under the lid. And it rose very strongly. Only one corner did not rise. So it's still not very good? I boiled the ring, but I haven't tried cooking with it yet.
Masinen
The lid should lift in this corner, but not to that extent.
But she ain't going nowhere, she's got a lock mechanism
Oksanna
Masinen, I hope it keeps well. It was scary to look at. Moreover, it has risen in all corners, but in only one not.I called the service center, my uncle there explained to me too that it happens. Does anyone have a photo of the staff at work so that I have an idea? Preferably at 7 bar
Masinen
Oksanna, here is a photo of my Shteba.
There is also a gap, but I have a little photo from another angle.

Oksanna
Masinen, thanks)
Masinen
Oksanna, if you bought on Ozone, then don't worry, you can always return it.
But I think that you are fine with her)
Oksanna
Masinen, yes, I bought it with ozone. But I will not return it) my husband and I figured out why this is happening. The lid of the pressure cooker has a free play up and down on the left side, so when pressure builds up there is a rather large gap.

Thank you all for your support in a difficult moment, when I was alone with an unfamiliar device)))

Now I will learn slowly. I do not have a Teflon bowl yet, and they are not on ozone. And I want to experiment. Can I fry in it? And cook porridge?
Masinen
Oksanna, you can fry in steel and cook porridge too. I do everything in a steel bowl)
And I have teflon for baking.
Yes, to fry in a steel bowl, years to adjust
tana33
oh, you are discussing some gaps here)))
Yesterday I cooked meatballs, I look exactly, there is a gap
I would not say, I would never have noticed
Reset
And I do not have such a large gap, but the lid flew off once when the borschik was cooking. And this happened after the end of the program, when the temperature dropped to 80 degrees. The husband opened the lid, the child was in the kitchen, I was in the next room, I heard a strong cotton - I went in, and there was borscht all over the kitchen. Well nobody splattered or burned. The lid hit the drawer and didn't fly far. Now I handle this unit very carefully, waiting for a catch all the time. Maybe you need to contact the service with this case?
Masinen

Maybe you need to contact the service with this case?
Well, actually, I would apply. The lid should not come off.
Maybe it's the lid itself.
Oksanna
And when you forcibly release the pressure, do you need to turn the valve completely or can it be slightly?
gala10
Oksanna, slowly, smoothly and carefully.
Masinen
Oksanna, lightly and very neat. so that steam comes out slowly.
And when liquid products, it is better not to forcibly release.

This is understandable :-) While there were no more excesses, pah-pah ... But I get very stressed when she starts hissing, when the pressure is gaining, I try to leave the kitchen ...

Tell me girls. What did you do with lemon when you first use it?

Girls, can you please tell me if the DD1 non-stick bowl will fit the Steba DD2?

Yes, it will do.

Hello girls and boys! so steba dd1 came to me. I ordered it on the German Amazon. The kit includes a spare O-ring and a cover, There is no Delayed Start, but I don't need it. On heating, the temperature is regulated. Happy as an elephant. I cooked meat, pilaf and biscuit according to your recipes, everything turns out great. Question: Can a steel and non-stick bowl be washed in PMM?

Steel can be. Better not to use non-stick.

I both bowls: everything is in order! If you are afraid of covering, wash the non-stick on the top shelf.

Specialists, tell me, please, in which mode the veal ribs should be made so that they come out very tender. I will not fry, I will stew it with onions and cilantro with a small amount of dry white (by the way, how much should be added to the minimum for pressure?)
Masinen
I would do it on Meat.
Arka
Not enough! I bet another 1:20, i.e. only 1:40 on meat... They easily pierce with a fork, almost without resistance, but they do not melt in the mouth. You have to chew ... Is this a feature of veal, or is there little time again?
Masinen
Listen, I put the veal for 40 minutes 0.7. The ribs were ready and melting, but the other pieces were not very good.
Arka
In general, the ribs themselves are very tender, but the meat that seems to be on the second floor on the rib is still hard to chew. Such 6 hours need to calm down.
Chit
Good day! I have Staff DD2. Tell me what could have happened and how to avoid it in the future?
Set to cook buckwheat 1: 2 "Porridge" mode, pressure. 0.7 for 1 min, the valve is closed. The pressure gained in 5 minutes, then the buckwheat was cooked for a minute, went to heat.
I turned off Shtebu, took out the cord from the socket, left the porridge to "reach", did not let off steam. After 2-3 minutes, a sharp release of steam, similar to an explosion. Fortunately, my child and I were a meter away from what was happening. comment on what happened. Thank you in advance.

Baby, and where did the sharp emission of steam come from? From a closed valve or somewhere else?
Chit
To be honest, I didn't understand. She stood aside, went about her business, did not bother anyone and then ... bang. The child was not scared by. joke.
Chit
If you sin on the silicone ring, then the pressure would not have accumulated, it would poison ... Or am I mistaken?
