VS NIKA, after 6 o'clock start watching!
So I am writing SET TIME 6 HOURS

And it turns out like a mirror, smooth and sparkling!
I'm thinking, maybe 5 hours to try?
Luysia
So I’m talking about dry yeast cultures TM Good Food Yogurt, they have a longer fermentation time than for yogurt from Activia.

Quote from the TM Good Food website:

"For regular yogurt makers - close the lid of the yogurt maker, plug it in, leave for 8-12 hours.
For water yogurt makers - pour hot tap water between the cups of the yogurt maker, close the lid of the yogurt maker, plug it into a power outlet, leave for 8-12 hours.
Do not be afraid to overexpose the product in a yogurt maker, the longer the fermentation process takes, the more useful and denser it is. "

I just thought, we can also pour water into a plastic bowl, jars of yogurt into it, there should be a more even heating ...

Next time I will ...

Yes, I also thought about it
Luysia
You just need to cover the cups with foil or put the lids on top, turned over on the cups.

Since there will be a lot of condensation on the lid (and can drip into jars of yogurt), I did this in the Brand multicooker.
Vichka
Didn't understand for what uniform heating? Don't the glasses heat up evenly? My yogurt is all the same in consistency, so the heating is uniform, no?

The yogurt turns out to be the same, but still the heater is at the bottom and the cups are heated from below ...

These are just plans to try ... You can't do this in an ordinary yogurt maker, but here you can!

I'm saying that it's not a yogurt maker, but an institute for the development of kitchen technology.

This way the temperature can be lowered. I think 3-4 degrees can be won. For particularly capricious products that do not tolerate high temperatures, for example, for kefir or sour cream. Did I seem to write about it or not? Manna, you talked about this topic, no?
Manna
Ksyuhonestly? I do not remember Can and said

Well, yes, I think you can lower the temperature this way, but 3-4 degrees compared to what? Just a bowl? Because in relation to the glasses in the bowl, I think it will be possible to win only a degree or two.
Ksyushk @ -Plushk @
Compared to the temperature in the jars. So that the contents in them are heated not up to 40-42 * C, but as a maximum up to 38 * C. We must, of course, check all this, measure it, experiment.

I still think that if t rose, in this yogurt maker, to 40-42 *, then in 6 hours the yogurt was overheated (I mean with activia and comparing with a slow cooker, where t is 40 *)
Manna
Ksyusha, so and so in a bowl with cups temperature 38aboutS. If also with water, then, I think, there will be about 37aboutC, minimum 36aboutFROM.

I seem to have overexposed.I set it to 8 o'clock, myself an alarm clock and after 8 hours there was a little serum in the jars on top. I don’t think the yoghurt was overheated, because after 4 hours it was 380FROM.

Yoghurt maker Brand 4001

The yogurt turned out to be delicious, but the whey, although not much, is not the case. I'll go for some more milk ...

Maybe not overexposed. The whey was less than 1 cm. Store milk.

From the Lactina website:

When fermenting with cow or goat milk, a small amount of whey may be separated at the edges of jars or other containers. It can be yellow or white. If you have more than 1 cm of liquid on top of the jars or other containers, this may indicate that that either the product has been curdled, or the milk is diluted with water, or the milk is 100% powdered.

Lyudmila is right, perhaps she did not overexpose. I have literally a couple of drops of serum on Lactin, which can be mistaken for condensation, since I immediately close the jars with lids.
Luysia
I used to make yoghurt using draft milk. They brought milk from a dairy to a small shop, chilled farm milk. But now this store is closed, I bought a store in a package. Probably they got something on.

This is not the first time I've made Good Food yoghurt. We'll have to go for market milk.

Now I put it on Lactin from the same milk.

Just put yoghurt with sourdough Yoghurt TM Good Food

Yoghurt maker Brand 4001

And in short, this is how: to shake the contents of the sachet in about a tablespoon of boiled warm (not hot!) Water and pour into the milk and stir again. For 1 - 3 liters of milk. And everything further as usual.

It takes longer to cook than from Activia. Approximately 8 hours (8-10 is recommended).

I put the jars in a round plastic bowl. I thought it would be more even heating for all the cups.

One sachet for one and a half liters of milk - seven full glasses!

More cups of yogurt have just been placed in the refrigerator.
The result pleases up to crazy!
I did it with the same milk, with a pack of strawberry activia, 1st stage. l narine and for more fat content of milk added two tablespoons of powdered milk without top.
Time 6 hours.
Even when warm, it is noticeable that the yogurt is thicker than the previous ones.
And now I will come to you ... in PM

Elena, and 41 degrees - is it when fermenting in cups that are installed in a bowl? or just in cups? (and the bowl was lying next to it) or in a bowl without cups?
I tested it in the body of a yogurt maker without an additional bowl and without cups.
During 8 hours of testing, the temperature was kept in the range of 36-42 degrees.

Girls, I just didn’t understand, but everyone didn’t have styrofoam in the box? Or did my husband not take him home?
There is no foam in the box with the yogurt maker. The size of the box is selected so that there is no movement of the device in it. This ensures safety during transportation.
Manna
Elena, I may not know much about this, but I thought that the foam provides not only the static device in the box, but also absorbs possible shocks. Although, the yogurt maker came to me safe and sound. I’m probably worried in vain, right?

and when sending the shopping mall, is it still packed somehow? otherwise, after the shopping mall, the cargo often comes with crumpled corners, and if there is no foam, then I cannot imagine in what form it will come. And they don't allow checking the goods for integrity in the same Autotrading. Because there you first sign the documents that everything is safe and sound, and then the cargo is handed over.

And another question, are there enough yogurt makers in the warehouse? I just would like to wait for the arrival of the waffle makers and buy it together with the yogurt maker.
