Note

Today I bought such a funky pepper on the market
Hot pepper marinated with honey
I could not pass by, I always make from ordinary peppers in liter jars. Well, this one struck on the spot with its size, made in 3 liter and 2 liter cans.

Gaby
Snowstorm, honey, I've been going to do something like that for many years, but here the recipe is quite simple to pour, close and there is no sterilization. A very interesting recipe. And how long have you been doing (and not spoiling)? And how does it taste, even though it's pepper? How long does it cost? I have a lot of questions ...
metel_007
I've been doing it for 25 years already, it's me personally. And before that, my mother did, bribed my husband by treating him to borscht with this pepper. He really respects him
He tasted it and said: "Mom, give me more."
She told him: "Son, that's enough"
He: "Mom, are you sorry?"
She: "No, I will feel sorry for you tomorrow"
But this is purely individual, we eat a lot of it with borscht, I can eat 3-4 pieces and the next day I don’t feel it in any way, but my husband sometimes hears, but it doesn’t stop him.
It costs at least a year, we eat it all.
I make 10-15 liters each season. The pungency depends on the type of pepper, vinegar and honey soften the pungency. But for us, if the pepper is initially not hot, we will eat it in a few months.
Gaby
Olya, thank you for your detailed answer and for just a superrrr dialogue, I will definitely do it ... I just feel that the recipe is "mine". THANKS again for showing: girl_curtsey: grand merci.
metel_007
Yes, as I saw this pepper today, I think it's really all mine? I left two pieces for seeds, I will plant next year by all means.
Messalina
delicious! how long does he insist? when you can eat something?)))
Tasha
Great recipe. Still, get such a pepper. And there is little left to do!

Natasha, I bought one myself for the first time. And so all the time I did it from ordinary pepper, the main thing should be fleshy.
Tasha
My husband saw such a pepper in shape on the market, only green. Let's try.
So can you experiment with the usual? I have a similar recipe with ratunda, but there is still garlic added.
Elenka
Olya... what a wonderful pepper! I will definitely make and saw such a pepper on the market today.
And tell me, does the pepper ferment? It's hot in my closet - she's on the balcony.
metel_007
Lena, she's not imagining! I have a closet in my apartment, last year's one was finished in June.
Swifta
Oh, what a wonderful recipe! I bought the pepper, I'll do it. In winter we will try and report.
metel_007
SWIFTA, for health
Gaby
A blizzard, I cooked a pepper, these two cans turned out to be beautiful, inside there is a red pepper, like yours and such elegant ones, on top with red lids, went to decorate the shelves in the pantry.
Elenka
Olya, I also made a pepper. A pound of pepper fits in 2 half-liter jars. She took tall and narrow jars.
Let's try - I'll tell you.
metel_007
Vika, Lena, health
Try with a borshchik, in winter from frost what you need
Elya_lug
Interesting pepper, pamper your husband, or what?
metel_007, tell me, can you take ordinary vinegar or apple cider vinegar?
metel_007
I take the usual 9%.
Elya_lug
metel_007, Thank you!

Closed four liter cans, beautiful horror ..... Now I think they will give the color?)))

For some reason, the photo does not increase, but it looks so beautiful
The color will, of course, change to a darker one, if only the pulp does not "melt" (sometimes only the skin remains from the pepper, and the pulp dissolves, I don’t know what it depends on, but it happens). So, if this happens, do not worry, it depends on the pepper. I think it's overripe.
Swifta
Well, again I did everything in my own way. But what about? Otherwise, I won't be able to sleep well.
I am reporting. Pepper cleared of seeds (I was afraid that it would be very hot). I put them in a 1.5 liter jar, but I also put the seeds from several peppers in the jar. There was no honey, so I put 1.5 tablespoons of sugar, poured half a can of vinegar, and poured it to the top ... with butter. I wanted something so much, I thought it would be tastier. Now I will take a sample in the winter. Maybe we can invent a new recipe.
metel_007, thanks for the recipe. I also want to buy pepper and make it exactly according to the recipe.
metel_007
SWIFTA , well done! Just make one jar of the original, something to compare with and tell us.
By the way, I also sometimes put sugar when there is no honey.
Natusichka
Olga, Well, we did, or rather, my husband did! It turned out 4 2-liter cans. Let's see what happens, we love the pepper! And after what time you can already try it, otherwise you have no strength!

Well ... that means you need to put it away, otherwise the drool is flowing!
Pichenka
Fir trees have fallen, but we have such a pepper of 10-15 rubles apiece.
And so you want ...

OGO !!!
Gaby
And yesterday I took a sample with borscht, it turned out good, the pungency softened, sour taste, in general I had to force myself to stop, remembering the words "mom". +1 per taste.
metel_007
Vika, to your health. Yes, sometimes it's hard to stop

We are not waiting for another month
Natusichka
And it's too early for us to try ... and the saliva is already flowing!
Swifta
And we have already eaten everything. I made a 1.5 liter jar for testing. Few . And there is no such good pepper anymore (that is, I don't see it). I will do a lot next year. THANK YOU VERY MUCH for the recipe!
metel_007
SWIFTA, we, too, have already stubbed the jar. You did it with butter, as I understand the new recipe was a success.
Swifta
Yes, more than a success! Whoever tried it - everyone could not tear themselves away. Although at first they said like I don't eat spicy. But everyone ate! It turned out with butter as a salad, ready to eat. Put on a plate and eat. ... Something tells me that not with oil it still needs to be brought to condition, add oil and all that. And here everything is already ready. And the butter from it can then be added to a salad of some kind (I did). With this oil, the salad will be more piquant.
metel_007, per recipe

Well, we eat it with a bite, for example, with borscht or with a roast (not like a salad)

I confess I could not resist. It was so tasty / lay in the jar that they ate a little bit. I myself regret that it is not enough. But what to do? Perhaps a suitable pepper will also come across on the market. And about the test ... It is already clear what I will do. The experience was a success! And after all, no unnecessary gestures: washed, cleaned and ready. Then tell me how you got it before the winter, I won't know, probably

Quote: metel_007

No, I, of course, will make it according to the original recipe (next year), but the salad option suits us very much.
Elenka
I tasted the pepper. It turns out he is moderately sharp. indeed, you can eat a bite of borscht.
The balance of acidity and sweetness just right.
But ... the pepper seemed bland to me. There is not enough salt.
metel_007
Alain, I'm fine, but I'm lightly salted. Try adding next time
And he stands beautifully until next summer

This means that I will not have enough salt ... I always oversalt everything! Such a taste!
What if now you open it and add salt, do you think, Ol?
metel_007
Natasha, you open and try, if you are not salty, you can drain the marinade, dissolve the salt in it and pour it back (well, I think so theoretically).

Okay, boom to try! A pity to open ... so beautiful!
metel_007
So you have to try in order to have time to redo.
And yesterday I removed the pepper from the garden and marinated another 5 liter cans, though not large, but a lot

Cool! We will know who to run to when our pepper runs out !!!
metel_007
You're welcome
Natusichka
Gaby
I also made a three-liter jar of pepper. I was afraid that I would be left without pepper in the winter and decided to play it safe. Olya.
