Ingredients

pearl barley (or rice) 500 gr.
cucumbers 3 Kg
carrot 1 kg
onion 1 kg
sugar 150 gr.
salt 4 tbsp / l with a slide
vegetable oil 200 gr.
9% vinegar 100 g
Bay leaf
peppercorns
greens

Cooking method

  • Boil pearl barley (rice) (do not overcook)
  • Dice the onion.
  • Grate carrots on a coarse grater.
  • Grate cucumbers in the same way.
  • Place vegetables in a saucepan. Add salt, sugar, butter. Mix gently. Bring to a boil and cook for 40 minutes. Then add barley (rice), bay leaves, pepper, chopped herbs. Cook for 10 minutes. Remove from heat, add vinegar, stir. Roll up in jars, turn over and wrap.

The dish is designed for

7 cans of 0.9 l
