Good afternoon, dear members of the forum!
I want to buy myself a toaster, but I don't know which one. I would like to listen to user advice on functions and features, go for it, and buy exactly what you need.

Veronica, are you interested in the toaster? Or a sandwich toaster? Of the latter, I recommend Philips HD2415 - it is the only one that has a rectangular shape for frying multilayer sandwiches, unlike the others, in which the shapes are made in the form of small triangles. The wash plates are easily removable.

Thanks dopleta, but this is not exactly what I need. I already have a Philips Culcina 2430 3 in 1 which has a sandwich maker ........ very good model! ..........
But what I need is a toaster where you can just toast bread for breakfast.

And ordinary toasters, in my opinion, now practically do not differ in functions from each other (except in terms of power), and it is difficult to break them, so, for example, I am guided solely by design preferences and with each kitchen renovation I change the old, but valid , more suitable for aesthetic data.
Natty
And don't they differ in length / width of the slice? My old toaster, for example, loves thin and short bread - you have to trim the slices under it, and this is very dreary and inconvenient in a hurry. Still good. when there is a crumb tray. I also heard that the difference between toasters is in the uniformity of toasting bread.

I read a little about the functions ............ the main function is one - toasting bread, with varying degrees of intensity.
There are a number of additional ones: defrosting, heating buns, a timer, various levels of frying, the presence of a tray for collecting crumbs .............
So I wanted to ask the lucky owners what functions are needed, and without which you can get by? Which model, which manufacturer is preferable to choose?
With the purchase of a bread machine, I got delicious homemade bread, now I want to learn how to properly toast it in a toaster.
Lenusya
Veronica, if you have a microwave oven with a grill, then a toaster is basically not needed - in MV you get toasts of any thickness, size and degree of roasting, and also saves space in the kitchen.

Tell us more about it, please! ... I have such a microwave.
Lenusya
I cut bread in the shape, thickness and size that I need.
While I cut the bread, I turn on the grill for 3 minutes to warm up. I spread the pieces on a high wire rack, put them in the MV, (you can put something on the MV plate for the crumbs, or then shake the crumbs right off the plate), turn on the grill for 3-5 minutes, then turn the pieces over and for another 3-5 minutes, the degree toasting is visible through the glass.

And I can't do without a toaster, although there is a microwave with a grill. In the morning there is no time for problems with the grill (with warming up, turning, etc.) For about eight years there was a regular Unit, now Tefal Delfini. The toaster is simple, inexpensive. Halves of slices from a loaf of CP are placed, browned well. What else is needed?...

I totally agree. Now I have a toaster with all these bells and whistles - defrosting, heating buns, but I don't use them. The timer, as it was set on the day of purchase for a medium degree of browning, did not move. And of course there is a tray - but it seemed to me that now all toasters have it.

Das, it's a pity there are no acquaintances in Japan .. I, as a mother of a kindergarten child, got interested in such a thing \ Russian women certainly cannot understand \

maybe you can, I haven't looked 🔗

And in Israel or in Russia, no one has ever met such a thing for buters?

My Philips sandwich maker makes these rectangular sandwiches.
Gypsy
girls, you do not catch the difference, what you show is fried, but the fact that the Japanese have ten dollars from plastic is molded under the pressure of hands, and does not take up any space in the kitchen. I wanted a kindergarten for a child. On that site, they do not send, they sell only in Japan.

what else are such things convenient for, you can contrive and make a triangle or rectangle
Gypsy, and in the very bottom photo there is a McDonald's pie with berries. They probably also have a similar shape.
Gypsy
Pugovka, I bought it in a regular grocery surper, a small Chinese one cost about two bucks, a white one, it seems to me, an Israeli brand name, a little more expensive. I met all sorts of Chinese like my little one, it's just that I already have enough of these, in short, I wanted to say this is not a deficit here.

Hairpin, catch the device (for lovers of the good old classics, I'm talking about Star Wars)

My son ran on e-buy and ran a toaster to order

Quote: fugaska

is such a device really for sale? my husband loves star wars - maybe I need it too?
KASONYA
I prepared the dough in KhP, divided it into pieces, rolled each into a thin small cake, laid out the filling - the remains of yesterday's mashed potatoes with the addition of fried onions, rolled it all into a sausage.

I baked sausages in an ordinary toaster, increasing the time by 2 times, I got these pies. It was an experiment, but very successful, then I repeated it with other fillings, including sweet ones.

From the series - "it was in the evening, there was nothing to do ..."

Fast and tasty (by the way, the device was never damaged!)

So is it in a toaster or a sandwich maker? It looks somewhat triangular ...
And if in a toaster - then it will not fall apart there? Are your toaster insides solid walls? And then I have a net: I'm thinking how to apply the experience ...
Dara
I looked at the pictures more closely: it looks like it's still in a sandwich saker. The next bunch of questions: Are the edges not hard? Do you lubricate something on top? And how much time, at least approximately?

Girls, you can probably freeze the blanks, and then fry them as needed?
Qween
Dara, I think that my experience will not hurt you, if you are interested in this topic?
I have repeatedly baked / fried pies (or whatever you call them ...) in a sandwich maker. But, with none of the types of dough, something decent in taste turned out. It was especially sad to see and eat yeast pies, the dough is oak. And, with all this, sooo long.

Specially prepared from those types of dough with which I regularly work.

But the omelet with fillers turned out to be interesting (we somehow fried at work), but it doesn't work out lush, it immediately falls.

My summary, after all the fuss: This thing makes great hot sandwiches, and the rest is frivolous.

IMHO

Here! I was afraid of this: that oak ...
I myself made omelets in this thing (except for traditional sandwiches) (they also fall off), and also pancakes with apples (you need a baking powder and a thicker dough than for a frying pan.

Thank you!
Qween
Let's wait still that KASONYA will write.
Maybe you need some kind of special dough or maybe what manufacturer or model of the sandwich maker is.

Dara, but what about your pancakes, are they normal? I didn't like mine.
KASONYA
Good evening, girls! My answer is:

The dough is better than butter. Yes, a little harsh edges at the "pies", but mine - like.
If you put more filling, then when you close the lid, it will be evenly distributed over the dough, and the edges will not be especially hard.
But then baking takes longer, which is not profitable.
I put 2 sausages at a time.
Indeed, it is faster to fry everything at once in a frying pan!

But it happens that a piece of dough remains, the size of a palm (do not throw it away !!!)
So you fantasize ...

My sandwich maker is an ordinary one, and best of all it turns out they are the most, sandwiches with various fillings.

And I'll just try to make the omelettes, something hooked, my thoughts in this direction are already working ...

So thanks, girls for ideas and solid optimism, otherwise I thought, one such - an awesome dreamer!
Qween
Good evening, KASONYA !

Yes, of course, a sandwich maker will help out in some situations, for example at work. It's even fun to fry pies or omelets, and surprise people

Potato pancakes and potato-meat pancakes.
Toaster, sandwich maker
Toaster, sandwich maker

We need
800-1000 g potatoes
300-500 g of minced meat (I have left from yesterday's nests
2 eggs
1 st. l. flour (I have corn)
10-20 ml vegetable oil
salt pepper
What to do:
Grate potatoes, I did it with a small Burner, (you can grind it in the processor). Add egg, minced meat, flour, salt, pepper to the grated mass. Knead everything well until smooth, for myself I just made potatoes without meat, with the addition of cheese. Place in our sandwich maker and bake until tender. it all depends on the power of your unit. Bon Appetit.
Very tasty, and most importantly quickly and not confusing.
I ate with sour cream, mine with tomato Tabasco sauce.

And these are just potatoes with cheese, no meat:

An interesting application of a sandwich maker ... And then they gave us a gift, and it has been lying around for 2 years already, you will have to think about something hot for dinner.

Girls, I found puffs with meat in a sandwich maker. Did it. But there was little joy.Everything is fine with the puffs, but trouble happened with the sandwich maker. While the puffs were baking, fat poured from all sides. Now the whole table, the sandwich maker itself, in general, fat is everywhere and everywhere. I would like to ask those who also baked puffs. How are you doing, were there any problems? Share your experience? Maybe I did something wrong. Now the problem is how to wash and scrub the device. I am waiting for an answer, and perhaps by mail: t_e_a @
Tanyulya
It flows of course, but then everything is washed off. I bake a lot in a sandwich maker.
True, my plates are removable.
Elena63
Tanyulya, thanks for the answer. Tell me, do you have 3 in one or 4 in one? Where, for how much and how did you buy?
Tanyulya
I have 3 in 1, I bought it for a long time ... 10 years ago, so I don't remember the price
Elena63
Thanks again. I'm looking for a PHILIPS HD2430 3-in-1 Sandwich Maker, but I can hardly find it in stores, but somehow I'm afraid to order via the Internet, but it would be better 4 in 1, where there is still one for donuts.
Tanyulya
I have PHILIPS, I like the power there, in many the power is not great and the products are more faded. We don't have 4 in 1 yet, girls from Ukraine wrote what they have on sale.

Can I get more details in the studio?

I think Tanya won't be offended if I answer...this is Tanyushin recipe

In the evening I boiled pasta, any. In the morning I mixed everything.
We need:
500 g, i.e. a pack of macaroons (boil)
4 eggs
50-70 cheese, grate
salt, pepper,
vegetable oil ... ml 10
As I said, mix everything and spoon it into a sandwich maker. Fry until tender
Tanyulya
Olya, Thank you. Sorry, I threw some pictures yesterday, but the mind was not enough to write the recipe. I'll post it ... fix it

Well, I finally made potato and meat pancakes. Well, more precisely, I have them meat-meat-meat-potato:

Really great, just add on my own. When the light turns red, they are not ready yet. You still need to keep it.

Aunt Besya and Lenusya! If there is an opportunity and time, maybe this topic can be broken down into recipes?

Hairpin, take the job
True, there will be not enough recipes

There are still recipes for PHILIPS HD 2420 Cucina (three in one)
