Dusya Myshkina
I have been looking for a mobile induction hob for a long time.
All my life I live in houses and apartments equipped with electric stoves. I got used to it, and I think that it is more convenient and cleaner to cook in comparison with gas ones.
But there are also disadvantages. Electric stoves, even the most sophisticated ones, are much more inertial than gas burners, reduce heat more slowly, and take it longer.
Induction cookers are devoid of this drawback, they are more economical (higher efficiency), and they seem to give more heating than conventional electric ones.
In European restaurants, professional cookers are mainly induction. But they have a drawback - they are quite expensive.

And so, wandering around the Internet in search of what to buy after a bread machine and a multicooker, I came across a novelty - a household induction cooker manufactured by the Kiev enterprise Meridian.
I phoned the seller, and now I am already the owner of this device.
Pleasantly pleased with the price - 296 hryvnia (less than $ 60)

After a week of operation, I am summing up the first results.
Apart from the price, there are many advantages.
Small weight and compactness - 3 kg and 30 cm length of one side of this plate. Decent design.
She looks bigger in the photo because of the angle.
Despite the fact that in many sources it is written on the requirements for dishes, there were a lot of dishes for it. It is clear that glass and ceramics are falling off. Non-stick cast pans also did not fit (turned out to be made of an aluminum alloy). If the crockery is not suitable, the stove peels and does not turn on. But the old enamel pots, written off due to the glass-ceramic coating of the main kitchen stove, were used. Of course, all stainless steel, cast iron is suitable, and Vogue, bought cheap on the Metro, is great.
The heating speed is awesome - just turn it on - the pan is already hot. The heating also decreases instantly. There is a timer available, though the maximum time is 99 minutes. It is convenient to boil eggs by setting the time, or oatmeal.
There is a stepwise heating and a thermostat to maintain the required temperature - 80, 110, 140 ..... 240 degrees. Very convenient too.
Safety is well thought out, the stove turns off immediately if you remove the dishes. They write that it is very uncritical to voltage surges - from 170 to 250 volts.
In general, the thing is useful for a summer residence, due to its mobility, and for frying at high temperatures, for example, meat or fish.
I am very happy so far, although there are drawbacks.
To the disadvantages, I would attribute a downhole heating mode, such as a microwave (not inverter).
That is, even with the thermostat set to 80 degrees, boiling is present, only a short pulse of time.
But there is a slow cooker for low-temperature stewing.

More recently, a similar stove (a little simpler) was sold in Lenta for just over 1,000 rubles. And I immediately noted it as an option, more advantageous in comparison with the traditional electric stove with a spiral standing nearby.
Dusya Myshkina
During the operation, I was not at all disappointed in this stove.
For all other benefits, it is very economical. This is especially evident when you need to boil a couple of sausages, eggs, or a cup of coffee. It all just happens instantly. It is very convenient to put the oatmeal on the timer in the morning.
The energy that is spent on heating a pancake in a traditional electric stove is enough to boil dumplings or fry eggs on an induction machine.
The flow rate on the meter has sharply decreased. I cook a lot, a multicooker and an induction cooker save about 200 kW a month, compared to how much was previously issued on receipts. This is not the main, but still a significant factor.
Well, light - 3 kg, I bought a whole bunch of them already, to my friends as a gift for summer cottages, for work in the office, etc.
mish
To be honest, the idea appeared - in general, the stove should not be built in, but instead of the standard built-in, put a couple of separate burners and that's it. And there is no need to cut the tabletop, and if there is not enough space, you can remove the burners and use them for their intended purpose - put a cartoon there or something else (for a while, of course). A kind of mobile option. But I am not yet ripe for such a decision, so I still live without a new kitchen and stove.
mish
Today in the Metro on the occasion I bought a single-burner induction cooker Alaska. And her price was tempting - about 500 rubles (there were some crazy discounts and I could not resist - I think, let it lie before the dacha). And at home it began - the husband decided to check it out in detail, that is, not only "the red button is on or off." He poured some water into a saucepan and set it on. And let's peep the tile - like it recognizes the saucepan unsuitable for cooking on itself. So we tried to put all the pots in the house on it (all of them are excellent, with a flat bottom, steel 18/10, at the time of their purchase in the instructions for one of them I remember exactly - it is suitable for induction cookers). And for this foolish plate, therefore, it is not suitable !!! And you know what, the only saucepan came up to it - an old tattered enamel one (miraculously it was lying around! But it's tiny - it's used for cooking sausages! So I figure out what now ... to throw out this idiotic tile? I can't walk to choose pots with tiles at the ready - to require them to be filled with water and turn on the stove to check if the pan really fits ?! They will look at me like a fool, especially since the instructions for the pots have an inscription that they are suitable! And how to explain to sellers, that the stove is in good working order (it boiled in an enamel pan!), but does not want to recognize stainless, specially made pots for it ?!
It's a shame that it will not be possible to hand it back (since I was with a person in the Metro, as if from an enterprise, and there is a lot of trouble from the enterprise to issue a return, and bothering a person because of 500 rubles is embarrassing).
Now I don't know what to do with her ... Maybe someone will advise something? And the cooling fan works disgustingly loudly from the moment it is turned on, is that true for everyone?
Boo Boo
mish Try checking your saucepans with a magnet. It should stick. If it does not stick, then these pans are not suitable for an induction hob. I myself thought that my pans were steel, and the magnet did not stick to them at all. So that's it. I am going to buy myself an induction cooker in the near future and change all the dishes accordingly.
mish
I checked all the pans with a magnet two months ago, for the sake of interest. All are magnetised. The truth is weaker than if you stick a magnet on the refrigerator, for example, but still the magnet does not fall from the pots - which means, theoretically, everyone fits. This upset ...

mish! One to one! And even worse - I bought it at the old, high price before the New Year. When none of my high-quality, expensive and supposedly suitable for cooking on induction cookers pots "worked" on it, we decided that the processor was broken and went and changed it to the Metro. There they were not at all surprised and without a word they replaced the tile with another (already cheaper). “China. Apparently, this happens every day,” the husband said skeptically. At home, the story with pots was repeated until I put it on it ... and then, like yours
mish
Horror! This is not comforting at all! True, my husband was delighted to say that it was great that we bought it, because now we will not be tempted to save money for a stationary induction cooker, but simply buy ordinary glass ceramics with fast heating burners, which in relation to the induction one costs half the price. and that, God bless him, that it heats up a little longer, after the stove with cast-iron pancakes, it will seem to us happiness too. He's probably right. What did you do with your tiles, dopleta?
dopleta
Once, for the experiment, I cooked shrimp in this very saucepan and put it in the pantry, wait for summer - I'll take it to the dacha, there I have a gas stove, an ordinary electric one - well, let this one be there. And here I have an electric glass-ceramic hob that works fine. And my sister has induction, and she adores it. True, she also had to throw out all the old dishes, and she bought new ones, warning the sellers that she might return them after checking.
mish
It is gloomy ... At least it will come in handy in your country house, but I gave my mother an idea to take this tile to the village, so she gasped - all the wiring there will burn out (the old wiring turns out to be) because the tile is 1800 watts with a capacity. So I'm thinking where to attach it now ...
Dusya Myshkina
Yes, no luck.
I myself, when I saw such cheapness in our Metro, even in comparison with the Ukrainian Meridian, was simply amazed. But a good friend of mine works there, she said that the return of these plates is the sea. And many just whip and beat the plugs
In all likelihood, in Alaska, induction is induced on a completely different mass of metal.
Even cheap steel mugs like tourist mugs work on my Meridian stove, all the pots from the Winzer and Bergoff sets, the old Tefal frying pan, cast iron, Vogue's frying pan, etc. work. Well, all the enamel ones.
The only thing that does not work is clearly non-magnetic dishes - silumin, or alloy thick saucepans.

The same can be said about the two-burner stove - verified.
It is a pity that the Chinese are so descriptive of such an excellent topic as induction cookers.
Maybe you can find an old enameled dish for a summer residence - this one will definitely fit, there is not stainless steel, but ordinary black metal under the enamel.
Look at your friends, many have put them in summer cottages or mezzanines, because enamel dishes are out of fashion.
Even Chinese consumer goods perceive it 100%

So, I think that expensive induction machines still perceive all the dishes that have the appropriate marking.
Petrof
stainless steel pots of Soviet times are normally suitable, and inexpensive modern ones in bulk (as they rightly said here - check with a magnet). I even found a year and a half ago an excellent pressure cooker suitable for induction cookers and is inexpensive (relative to tefali, for example) - Fagor Future (Spain) - for example, in a- about 3 tons, and here I saw some Chinese pressure cookers for induction. cheaper and well made. and I bought tefal pans for induction (with a non-stick coating) in Technosil, though a little expensive. may have fallen in price now.
no problems with the dishes.
Petrof
I will add to the attention of users:
I recently had to cook jelly (for the first time during the use of different ceramic stoves), starch, diluted in water, got on the stove and sticks so with a thin film that it is very badly wiped off both with a tool and a scraper.
so be careful with starch - the rest of everything rubbed off easily.

P.S. 6 spoons were not enough for 1 liter of fruit drink !!! starch to harden to a jelly. Under Brezhnev, they were planted for this quality.
Dusya Myshkina
So our members of the forum write about this - the dishes are magnetised, but they do not work on the tiles.

In principle, physics is clear. Induction currents are induced in the bottom of the dishes, which work along the lines of force of the magnetic field.
These lines are lined up if the structure of the metal creates domains - this is exactly present in ferrous metals and absent in non-ferrous ones.
With stainless steel is more difficult. Depending on the type of stainless steel, it may not be ferromagnetic or weakly magnetic, since chromium or manganese is added to it, which do not allow the domains to line up so strictly along the lines of the force field.
Chinese tiles with their induction coils may not induce due to design flaws or current power in weakly magnetic surfaces.
But any induction cooker must induce current in a cast iron pan - since it is a purely magnetic metal, and in enamelled pots, the steel of which does not contain chromium or other alloying additives.
That is, you have to look ...

Only obviously non-magnetic dishes do not work - silumin, or alloy thick saucepans.
here is the true statement, and that the dishes are magnetised but do not heat up - this is a question for Chinese stove manufacturers (there are thousands of similar questions to them, I remember, I bought a Chinese radio tape recorder in 1993 on which STEREO was written in huge letters - I barely returned it to the store, demanding Have a friend explain on the basis of what theory the stereo signal from the head of the tape recorder is transmitted by two wires to the amplifier-corrector.Only this helped)
well, the price of 500 rubles per stove should, of course, scare the buyer to death.
mish
Petrof, don't worry so much !!! You never know anything in our life ?!
I have already calmed down and I think that my husband is right - we will take ordinary glass ceramics, and business, then ... Due to the fact that the induction unit boils two or three minutes faster, I kill myself, overpay the extra 20 thousand (we are talking about stationary in this case ) and I will not change all the pans - it will be more expensive. Moreover, now there is absolutely no extra money.
So I made a decision for myself, and let our posts remain in the topic for the edification of the next who want portable induction cookers. Let at least the following who wish not be mistaken in their choice and buy a good product.

Tell me, is there anyone who uses the iPlate induction hob? they are so beautiful (on the site), so I want to buy and the price of 2500-3500 is also not so high ... does anyone have any information ???

Very satisfied. There was an action in Lenta, they were there for 1000 rubles, but we did not have time. 1800 RUB also not expensive, Moscow online stores want from 2500 to 3500.
I went through your link very much I liked the appearance and the control panel is very interesting, but how is it in everyday life, that is, in ease of use

Help people !!!!! How to cook a chicken egg on induction?
It does not work ..... Bursts and flows out. Or the water boils away and the yolk is raw inside. Who cooks how? What mode, power, temperature?

Wow! There may be very little water, because anyway, if the egg is in boiling water for a long time, well, it cannot help but curl up, if the eggs are cooked for a couple ...

The cooking speed is too high, probably somewhere like that

I cook eggs on an induction machine without problems, on the contrary, because of the timer and the ability to set the temperature to 80 degrees, it turns out better than anywhere else. The water should completely cover the eggs. For boiling, the power is set high.
After boiling, I set it to the lowest power for 10 -12 minutes.
In this mode, the yolk is not covered with a gray film that separates it from the protein, and the egg boils well and looks beautiful.

sazalexter - I sincerely congratulate you on the new cool stove !!!

If I have to move to an apartment without gas, then I will also buy a desktop induction unit.

And what is the cooler inverter?

My dad bought a device to save electricity.
Special savings are spent just on induction and on energy-saving light bulbs, such as aligning a sine wave, but I still can't figure it out.
Maybe an inverter cooker is even more economical than a non-inverter one and also levels something?
sazalexter
julifera at 80 degrees of the thermostat, boiling is present, only a short pulse of time. That is, in the mode of low heating power, it works impulsively, if the good heat distribution bottom of the dishes is not noticeable

In fact, quality tiles work great !!! It is better to pay more expensively and use it for a long time and with pleasure, than to get upset about the garbage bought on the cheap !!!
Melanyushka
sazalexter, how is your stove doing? Have you adapted to it? Is it your main hob or in addition to your hob? Sorry that there are so many questions, just the question of buying a hob arises and now I decide that glass ceramics or induction is better. With dishes, the question is clear, but as an option to use such a stove as yours, as the main one in the kitchen, is such a stove enough for you? In the old stove, I still used a maximum of 2 burners, and in the presence of a multicooker, airfryer, oven, then the stove is generally very little involved. On the other hand, such a tile can be rearranged to any place, so I thought, what if we take such a desktop induction cooker?
sazalexter
Melanyushka The stove is doing well. It is quite adapted, and very quickly. Cooking is just super fast! Better than a gas stove!
This is our main hob. Wife loves her very much When there was a question about buying, she immediately said that two heaters would be enough for her.
Do not buy any funds for the stove! It's a waste of money
By definition, nothing sticks to it and you do not need to scrub anything, and even more so to scrape off.A wet sponge and preferably a linen towel (rags) is enough
At the expense of glass ceramics or halogen. Well, I don't like them, it's very hot from them, in summer it's so dark in general
Melanyushka
Thanks for the quick response and recommendations. I will look for just such a stove, I have not seen them on sale, there are only single-burner induction cookers. And who is the manufacturer of your tiles - PRC? And how long do you think such a stove can last: 5, 7, 10 years?
Melanyushka
Sazalexter, followed the link, in general, everything is clear, you can order via the Internet, but I will try to look at myself. In general, we have 1-comf. KITFORT, it will be possible to take one for now, also made in China, I don't know if the quality is much different from gorenje. I looked on the Internet a bunch of information about induction cookers and videos too - it is impressive and amusing when the pan is on a towel and meat is cooked in it, or a banknote between the stove and a saucepan of boiling water. As for the "repair", I envy with white envy when there are "golden hands" in the house, if something breaks, I will have to go to the service center. Is it so simple that it needs to be repaired?
sazalexter
Melanyushka It is more complicated than a heating element.
Only the autopsy shows whether it is maintainable or not. From practice, you can do almost everything for yourself or your friends
Melanyushka
Sazalexter, thank you very much for your consultation and links.
But on this tile Induction cooker KITFORT KT-102 can you tell something? Is it worse in terms of technical characteristics than your gorenje? We also have MAXIMA MIC-0146 from the available desktop ones.

Yes, I was just looking for information about induction and came across this surface, I do not know what it has and how.

Better tell me who has induction with a choice of power and temperature:
do you set the required power or set the temperature?
And what is more convenient for you to regulate? by power or by temperature?

And yet - do you need 10 degrees of power or a 6-speed one with a head is enough?
