On the weekend we were in your house, there are discounts and there are such saucepans, but in Moscow I think there is more choice

Today at Ozone I received this casserole, but returned it. The bottom was very scratched, for that kind of money (1669-10 rubles) I decided not to take it. And I have to go to your house. If such a price is in Moscow, we must take it unambiguously.
Olga_Ma
motoxxxOlga, this is a small 1.15 l, and it seems to me that you have an online store in Moscow for your home

Review of the new pot Emile Henry.

Brief annotation: the idiot's dream has come true ...

Emile Henry's new 4-liter pot is the winner of the 2017 Design PLUS and the 2018 Las Vegas Housewares Design Award for design. But I don't care about all this - I just really liked him. I love to cook with pleasure on weekends, and beautiful dishes and accessories add additional aesthetic pleasure to this business ... A 15% discount in the store dispelled the last doubts - we must take it!

Alive - beautiful, elegant, bright, unusual. True, the first thing the spouse asked was, "Have you bought yourself a new chamber pot?" Honey, I love you too ...

The weight is not heavy, but not light either - so, medium, as for ceramics - about 2 kg. There are no separate handles, but due to the original shape of the "collar" it is convenient to carry it, and there is very little chance of dropping it. The lid is comparatively not heavy and the lid handle is more comfortable than the standard Emile Henry pots. The dimensions are compact, even fit right next to our LG MJ3281BC microwave if the lid is turned upside down. For comparison, the packaging of the pot and the Panasonic SD255 bread maker:

Baking pots (cook, advise, show off)

As expected, he did standard prophylaxis for him - he boiled 1.5 liters of milk in a pot for 5 minutes, let him cool to room temperature, washed.

The day before yesterday, the first thing I did was to cook duck legs, stewed with chickpeas and vegetables.

Yesterday I made a cream soup with brie cheese in it, according to Belonica's recipe. I whipped up the boiling mass with bamix right in the pot, no problem ...

Baking pots (cook, advise, show off)
Baking pots (cook, advise, show off)

Due to the fact that the "collar" of the pot is wider than the side walls, during the entire cooking time of both dishes, not a drop of moisture or fat from the inside fell on the side walls of the pot, when handling the ladle / spoon, this means that there will be no smudges and baking ...

The bottom of the pot has some new original shape. What is the trick here - it's hard to say ...

Baking pots (cook, advise, show off)

With strong heating from above, the lid is abundantly covered with sand and a continuous network of microcracks. If I hadn't worked with the Emile Henry cookware before, I would have decided that the lid is kapets. But when it cools, after washing, all the sand quickly goes back into the clay, and the microcracks disappear without a trace, - the surface of the lid again becomes smooth and mirror-like, - the magic of glazed clay ...
The color of the pot is red, without a pink tint, that is, as in the bottom photo - the camera on my smartphone sometimes distorts the color. This color is called Grand Cru on the French website, and Burgundy on the American website Emile Henry.
Given the shape of this pot, the French first pour its halves, and then connect them, and then bake them. The connecting seams on the sides and bottom are almost invisible, and do not affect the overall appearance.

In general, I was very pleased with this purchase, besides the fact that it is very expensive, as for me ... He told his own that he bought himself a present for the last birthday ...

Shl. It is advisable not to look at the background in the photo - the kitchen is in a state of permanent preparation for major repairs ...
Belka13
Kapet, Constantin, congratulations on your purchase! I really love Emile Henry ceramics
Kapet
Belka13, Olga, Thank you so much! I am also a fan of Emile Henry ceramics.
It’s a pity that they remove some successful models from production - and ceramics is such a thing that sometimes has the ability to beat ...

4 liters - if to the brim. In reality, with such a volume in it, it will not be a camilfo to cook ...

well, even if 3-3.5 is a serious portion, there is definitely enough for a family

By the way, I want to share my insistent advice as a person who has exhausted the bitterness of losses and irreparable ceramic losses. The most painful and fragile place of ceramic pots, tagines and pots is their ceramic lid. Without it, ceramic dishes lose more than half of their functionality, not to mention their appearance. So, - at any time of the year, at any time of the day or night, regardless - on the stove or at the table, regardless of whether the lid is cold or hot, - PUT THE CERAMIC COVER ONLY ON A FLAT WOODEN SURFACE! Or on a silicone mat that lies on a flat surface. You need to take care of this in advance, and then you will significantly extend its service life.

Girls, I do not know where it is more correct, but I decided to consult here.
I know that many have pancakes / bread bins of this type:
Baking pots (cook, advise, show off)
Has anyone baked hearth bread in them?
I want to try it for a long time, but I'm afraid to ruin my favorite toy.

So, right?
So no one wants to share their experience with me, right?
So you are all like that, right?
Then I share with you
I really liked both the process and the result.
She baked a quick Cuban, in a hearth variant.
The bread is baked very well, very evenly. Even in color, it is ideally the same on top, bottom and side.
See for yourself from all sides:

So I will definitely continue to use this pancake for baking myself, and I advise you

Olga VB, Olga, superb bread turned out, feast for the eyes "Licked" on a form for round bread from Emile Henry.
Now more options seem to arise. Thanks for the test
Ilmirushka
Olga VB, Olga, so where did you put the dough, on the lower flat part? And covered with a lid or without a lid? These pancake makers have such a good handle on the lid that the whole pancake maker is stable even when turned upside down.
Kubeba1
Olga VB, stunned, what a beauty!
Did they bake bread under the lid all the time, or did they open it at the end?

I just stopped blushing the oven on top, I'm looking for options, I'm thinking of buying an aluminum cauldron and covering it, baked in a roaster - it rises much better, but does not solve the problem of a crispy top crust.

And I missed the clay pancake - we had a visiting fair, the saleswoman said - ceramics made in Ukraine, and the next day (while I was pondering whether I needed it), they left without a trace
Marysya27
Ilmirushka, I've also considered It looks like it's still on the lower flat part.

Well yes. And even the proofing was there.
Quote: Ilmirushka
And covered with a lid or without a lid?
First under a lid, then without, as in the most common bread baking technology. That is, first with steam, and then without.
Well, I put everything in a cold oven, and then heated everything together. 40 minutes for 200 * C under the lid, and then another 15-20 minutes without the lid.

I didn't aim too much.
My husband just asked me to buy him a pancake maker, and I turned half the forum while I was choosing. And all this caught the eye of our Lenochka alba et atra.
And as a result, my pancake lover received 2 gifts at once: from me a submerged pancake maker, and from Lenochka - a ceramic pancake / bread bin for storing pancakes.
So it is not necessary to look for fairs of Ukrainian goods, you can search for products of our potters.
And Lena will tell you exactly where.
Good luck!

Beautiful. But she also has a different shape of the plate - there are sides. Mine is in the form of a saucer - the dough can run away. But if the lid is turned over and used as a bowl. I just feel sorry for my beauty pancake maker in the oven.

Ilmirushka, Ilmira, it is better to put any ceramics in a cold oven and heat gradually together with the oven.
I cut out and put a circle of baking paper on the bottom. So the pancake didn’t even need to be washed afterwards: it shone like new, not a single extra dot or speck.
And once again a separate huge thank you to Lenchik alba et atra and for a wonderful, practical, multifunctional gift, and for advice on the correct use:

Olya, beauty! I have the same pancake from Lena.
I really bake in large earthenware pans. It is necessary to look at Slavyansk without glaze.

Nothing will happen to them!
The main thing is, before putting in the oven, let them warm up at room temperature.
If the pots are glazed, the glaze will not withstand sudden temperature changes. And if you follow the rules, they will last 100 years without loss of quality.
