Yuri Kand a second twisting after fermentation on a finer wire rack does not solve your pellet problem?
I'll tell you about myself.
When I do mixes, I usually weigh all the components and write it down for myself (here it is - the mathematical mindset) conventionally divide the whole party into 2 parts - the one that gives dust and the one that gives strong granules. and I see that the "trash" was no more than half.
to dust I include blackberries, raspberries and bird cherry. strong - pear, cherry, plum, rosehip, strawberry, irga. all other flavors for me are somewhere in between. based on personal experience.
after the first linking, as a rule, the appearance of granules is obtained. but the second twisting on a fine grate gives what I like - although small in size, but still granules. but the auger is clogged yes. or rather, if small portions are poured into a meat grinder, then a "plug" is formed at the very end - near the grate, the rest of the space is free.
Well, that's just my fad - I want granules. for you I remember it is not important.

and the second twisting after fermentation on a finer grate does not solve your pellet problem?
Almost does not solve It turns out of course granules, loose, but like in some photos of recipes, as much as worms when a mass comes out from under the lattice, this has never happened! Apparently, out of zeal, I remove moisture from the foliage)))
sweet_blondy
Yuri K, I also have no direct worms, they are just shorter and after drying remain granules. I will try not to forget to photograph at home. but again the granules are compositional. some are denser, some are looser)
Yuri K
sweet_blondy, yes, I also have granules, it is not always true that it turns out))) And okay, long-term, too, wow! There was absolutely no dust, dust as such, too, long-term ones are obtained, such small tea leaves)))
Yuri K
Don't ... You can't kill the wild raspberries, even the fireweed couldn't do it! Mixed 1: 1: 0.5 (fireweed, raspberry, goof).
The color of the granules is very interesting, it turns out gray-haired because of raspberries. I would call him "gray-haired Ivan crimson"
Here is an infection, the camera does not transfer silver))))

Another such experiment happened today. They brought a bunch of mint a couple of hours ago (which I did not understand, but they collected it in the meadows), dried it, it dried quickly, washed it, put it on fermentation. After fermentation already, I will freeze. And let it lie until I find time to dry! He deliberately violated the sequence of operations after correspondence with Vyazemsky. He strongly advised to freeze, though fireweed, after fermentation

Yuri, what is more?
sweet_blondy
Yuri K, then gray-haired Ivan Malinovich
and in more detail, who is Vyazemsky and where to read about his works?)
Yuri K
sweet_blondy, Ivan Malinovich? Very interesting!
Vyazemsky, this is a person who is not experimenting with fireweed, he watched his videos like a movie

sweet_blondy
Yuri K, Thank you! I will definitely check it out!
oh I won't see fireweed in my eyes, so at least I'll teach you a theory
Yuri K
Alese, well, in a nutshell. During freezing and subsequent defrosting, the processes of formation of not fructose, which we need, take place in the leaf tissues, but I don’t remember what substance, maltose or something .... As a result, the fermentation process goes a little differently, and as he put it, “from fresh potatoes the moonshine turns out to be excellent, but from ice cream - beeee. " So in our case, it is better to ferment, and then freeze until a convenient opportunity.
Barquentine
do we dry, grind, ferment and freeze? Now it is relevant to me, because I live in the garden, it is difficult to dry.
Yuri K
Barquentine, I act a little differently now. I dry, ferment and freeze. Then I defrost it, granulate it and put it in the dryer.

Girls, can someone tell me what kind of scent is blooming, and is it "edible" for our business?

Barquentine
do you ferment sausages?
Yuri K
Barquentine, Please quote who you are addressing. If to me, then I simply ferment with a leaf mass without fanaticism, compacting the mass, a little earlier I first granulated and only then fermented. And someone rolls into cigars and ferments (sausages).

It looks like an ordinary bruise. Medicinal but poisonous plant.

Thank you, I haven't been here for a long time, I forgot everything
Yuri K
Natalo4-ka, it's a pity how (((I read about him ... Not our scent.
Cherry
lappl1, good day!
We love teas very much, we decided to take a chance and start fermentation))

The cherry leaf has been lying for almost 12 hours. Doesn't seem to be dry. Some darken - brown ...
Why can this be so? How to fix?
Thank you!
sweet_blondy
Cherry, are you stirring it up?
I always wither in blanket sheets. though it takes about 2 days.
some leaves turn brown. those that were carelessly torn off. the main thing is that the leaves do not dry out, namely dried
Light
Quote: Cherry
Some darken - brown ...
Cherry, Natasha, this is normal. When collected, the sheet is damaged and darkens.
Yuri K
Light, it is necessary to add if such a sheet does not crunch. Is your collection too dry? Cherry, be careful with drying! The leaves also turn black beautifully after freezing, this is a fact))
Cherry
sweet_blondy, yes periodically stirring)
They lie on the table on a sheet, but they are not covered by anything ...
sweet_blondy
Yuri K, what is true is true! I love to watch the leaves darken after defrosting. pear is the darkest
Cherry
Light, and discard the darkened?

Yuri K, no, it seems. They are still quite lively, not dry, but some are brownish ..
sweet_blondy
Cherry, they are not dry?
do not throw anything away. what about the central vein of the leaves? crunches no?
Cherry
sweet_blondy, nope, not dry at all.
It’s just 12 hours have passed. It is written that about so much dried ...

Then we are still waiting and stirring))
The vein does not crunch
Yuri K
Cherry, you are dancing from the humidity of the environment. Different leaves dry differently in time. It is checked by bending the sheet across the central vein, if it crunches or breaks, then we are further sluggish. Either squeeze tightly in a fist, if we straighten up elastically without keeping the shape of a squeeze, let us dry further.
There are also exceptions. For a long time I got used to drying sage. It almost immediately becomes a rag, but it is clear that it is not withered. You stir up - it seems to be normal, but separately lying leaves or looking around the edge, but already dry ...
Light
Quote: Cherry
and discard the darkened?
Cherry, Natasha, in no case! This is normal
sweet_blondy
Cherry, soooo .... about the vein in more detail) crunches or not? if it does not crunch, then the withering process is over and it can be processed or sent to the freezer.
are you sealed?
Quote: Cherry

The vein does not crunch
Cherry
sweet_blondy, should a crunch be heard? and breaks down?

there are still some, but many no longer crunch, but at the same time, when you squeeze, they straighten ...

maybe let them lie down a little more ...
Light
Quote: Cherry
but many no longer crunch
Cherry, Natasha, if the bulk does not crunch, then the withering is over.
Cherry
Light, Thank you!
And if they lie down for another couple of hours, is it very dangerous for them? ))
otherwise there is no time to do them now ...
Light

Cherry, Natasha, in their package, and in the refrigerator. Or a freezer.
sweet_blondy
and I get special pleasure when I unfold the swaddling roll, and it is warm, damp inside, and the aroma begins to manifest itself, but what is most interesting is this happens even when the leaf is not really dried yet. this is especially pronounced in plums, cherries and raspberries. although it may still depend on the amount of raw materials)
all the rolls are kept in my bedroom on the floor. I come home from work or get up in the morning (this is changing time), and there the aromas begin to appear. and in general the sheets are then so "tasty"!
Cherry
Thank you all for your help !!!
I understood everything, we hide it in the refrigerator, we train further))
sweet_blondy
Yuri, tell me, where did you see the repes nearby?
Yuri K
sweet_blondy, at my dacha! And so, only landings along the railway and on the way to Chernorechye, along the highway, but this is not an option ...
sweet_blondy
Towards black speech? I have not seen ... I know only in the area of the spring vale. But also along the road ... Strange bush - only grows along the roads
We planted them at our dacha, but they are still kids .... The parents have more, but they won't let you pull it)))))
Yuri K
Quote: sweet_blondy
Strange bush - only grows along the roads
Where it was planted, it grows there)) We do not have it in the wild, in the steppes and forests for sure))

I have not yet mastered the confusion with the census, the previous one would be reworked))
sweet_blondy
Yuri K, planted? ... and I naively thought it somehow grows by self-seeding there
and in general there is such a shrub - few people know about it in other areas, it surprised me

to be honest, now I'm not so much interested in leaves as in berries
Yuri K
Quote: sweet_blondy

This is fantastic))) Here are my bushes in the spring))) I almost bothered to collect colors, then I just started to comprehend the basics of tea making

sweet_blondy
Today I went to pick strawberries. 2 hours of torment and only 850 grams of berries)))
I was upset - I looked at the clearing with large berries, and it was robbed while I found another place without a car, but there is not much and not so large ... I still have to go to look for a place

you have a lot of color! the bushes are apparently large. the beauty! brings a lot of berries? my parents had a wasteland.
Yuri K
Quote: sweet_blondy
the bushes are apparently large. the beauty! brings a lot of berries?
Approximately 50% of the color. But no one somehow does it, although the jam and compote from the census are awesome. My wife is ... ummm ... a little white-handed woman (just said), she doesn't make any preparations at all, I'm so lucky. The most that can afford is to freeze berries in season.
And I basically scored on the dacha, since it is not necessary, so it is not necessary to squirm there, for what?
sweet_blondy
Yuri K, my mother cooks compote from it. and I ice it for the winter. I don't have a cellar - it's inconvenient to take everything to my parents. Here in the winter I cook fresh. but collecting it is just tin! I remember when we arrived, but the largest one has already been collected. I was enough for half a small bucket
here they planted themselves in the country 4 bush. started. and that's good) let them grow.
Yuri K
sweet_blondy, you need to collect it in a steep fall, when the main leaf has already fallen. Then it's easier))) The berry is unique - it hangs until frost.

Another depressing me, what do we have in the area with currants? I don’t remember that such problems would have been, everyone has literally disappeared over the past 10 years ((((List has nowhere to type, just amazed.
In abandoned dachas, neither raspberry nor currant can naturally be found either ...
sweet_blondy
Yuri K, well then it really makes no sense to keep the dacha! my husband is not happy with the fact that last year I was drawn to start a garden, but he does not leave one in the beds. though there is no fire of interest in the eyes) but oh well, that's how the shrubs and trees begin to bear fruit - maybe a light will appear. while he has it from the word "fishing", which is across the street from our dacha - this is a thrill for him, yes)

so late??? we go in early August. by the fall there will be nothing there)) when he will sing at the dacha - then it will be another matter!)

Yuri K, alas, yes, everyone has transferred. and I have a childhood memory of how I sat in the thickets collecting it for blanks ... here we are quietly trying to revive everything.
I am investigating the abandoned summer cottages near my own. they were all empty in the 90s.that is, about 20-25 years have passed since that time. and what was my surprise when I began to find black currant! Yes, there are not many berries, but she is still miraculously alive! 3 bushes are frail, one is straight decent. in August we will transplant to our country house. I went and pulled the leaves from them, but just dried them.

This is Golden Currant !!! We remember collecting it in buckets in plantings ... Then we did not know that along the road it was saturated with carcinogens from car exhaust. It was delicious, they made jam and compotes.
Yuri K
