1.5 cm? Falling down? I do not understand . I have a piece ~ 2-3 millimeters thick, and it does not fall off the holder, but gets stuck in the very corner of the frame. I push back and cut with a knife into 3-4 pieces.

Is it on the Classic?

I read somewhere that it depends on the Berner variety, that is, on the height of its sides.
Those models that make cubes - there the side is higher, therefore, the remainder is larger.
In the Classics, and if I'm not mistaken - in the Trend - the sides are smaller - the remains are small.

I also have too large pieces in the VIP-4, but I already got used to bringing it to 1 cm, and at first, out of habit, I also had one and a half left.

Margit
I, too, still have a lot of leftovers, I throw it away, since there is a chicken.
Yesterday I received a parcel with a box, a 10 mm insert and a rock grater. The Roko grater is also excellent, I really liked it, it still turns out carrots better and more beautiful than on 3.5 Burner insert. Or just more familiar to me, I always used such a grater, but of domestic production, I replaced it every year, bought a new one. For the weekend I plan to do cabbage, I will cut it into jars with carrots.
fealca
Margit, where did you order it? otherwise I also want to order a nozzle for 10.
Margit
fealca I ordered on the Berner website. (The price shown on the site includes postage, work on a prepaid basis.

Margit, can I have another question? How long did the parcel take before you?

Nothing at all - a week! According to the identifier, the 29th was sent, the 6th was at the RCPP Kazan,
On the 7th I received it at our post office.

Girls, tell me, maybe there are some secrets so that the vegetables do not fly off and rub until the end?

Do not cut tails / rhizomes from vegetables. For example, carrots, onions.
with this tail you put it on the pins and rub it - there are less residues. This is what the manufacturer advises.
matroskin_kot
And I have all the leftovers - tails go to freezing (onions, carrots, parsley roots) ... I then throw them into the broth ... And there are no more pieces ... I cut the cabbage to the end, well, rarely, rarely chopping with a knife ...

Yes, on the Classics. Now I measured it - indeed, on the Classic the rim is 3 mm, and on Vip about a centimeter.

On the advice of my sister, I bought a Roco grater (Korean carrot). This was my first acquaintance with Berner. Of course I didn't buy the holder. The sister said that she was lying unnecessarily. I hoped for her, because she had graters for a very long time.
I tried it at home, I liked it very much, especially for borscht it came in handy. Exactly what is needed. But ... I got two minor injuries and decided that I needed a holder !!!
Previously, I "went" to the Internet to look for information about Berner graters and got to this forum. I read it for two days, reread it several times, followed the links, in short I bought not only the holder, but also the Vegetable cutter-set model "V-PRIMA" (I chose cherry color). I bought it in Moscow, metro Prazhskaya, Electronic Paradise (I found the address on the official website closest to me). What was pleasantly surprised that it was 240r cheaper there. (I think that on the site there is an add-on for forwarding immediately) If you compare with the site, it turned out that a 10% discount
Tomorrow I want to buy a box (I was immediately confused and forgot about it) and graters (I have not yet made a final decision on which ones, I want a lot). Sudok "Classic" (orange) previously bought for a grater Roco. I really need this thing, it is convenient to cut there. She works for Prim too!
As a beginner, I want to say that I immediately got cubes (I was not in the subject for nothing).
Thank you all for your advice and opinions, they were very useful to me. Special thanks for all the links to the video.
I made friends with the holder, almost immediately. I took advice about the "tops" of onions and carrots, really with them the waste is minimal.
It cuts great. Then you need to get into the habit, as the girls previously advised, to take a grater instead of a knife.

Margit
Mistletoe is a salad grater.
I quote from the site:
"You can surprise your family and friends with magnificent summer and winter cabbage salads, having the" SALAD CARLIE "grater from the" Berner "collection (CARLY in German means" curls ").
Winter cabbage has very wide and thick leaves. Serrated teeth on the "SALAD KARLI" grater are intended for delamination of these thick sheets. With such a grater, regardless of the season, your table will always instantly have a magnificent airy vitamin coleslaw with cucumber and onion. With this grater, the knives cut in both directions, and you get the result instantly!
And for those who like canning, there will be an opportunity to cut vegetables into beautiful "corrugated" shavings that will look great in your marinades. "

oh by the way! also in a whisper. I didn't pay because I chose this point, there is payment upon receipt. But they called me back from there, they said that on Monday they should pick up the goods from them, and bring them to the point on Tuesday-Wednesday. And then they will tell you. But there is some kind of dregs ... I called, I wanted to take 5 more pieces and they told me that in general there were only 3 pieces left, and they would look for and call back. But nobody called today, and I forgot. I need to call back tomorrow.

From graters I would recommend baby grater, pizza grater and karli grater. The New Year is just around the corner, all the graters will be in use!
Thanks for the congratulations and advice. I accept.
That is NG and pushes, in a different situation she might not be in such a hurry. I went here before leaving for the store and for good reason. Upon arrival, I will unsubscribe that I bought it.
In the morning, I chopped a salad of carrots and radishes on a 3.5mm grater. I liked the size and look and juiciness. Of course, in such fast situations, before work, you don't want to mess with the combine because of one carrot and 5 radishes. And then he quickly set it up, rinsed the grater (like a knife washed it) and that's it. Of course, this is the advantage of a grater over a combine. (But the harvester is good and not replaceable in other situations)
Trendy
Hurrah!!! Today I was presented with the "Classic" set. I haven't tried it yet, but I already want the rest of the grater. Please tell me which of the additional ones is the most in demand. I read the topic from the very beginning, but I don’t remember about 2 years ago. I understand that I will have to read from the beginning, and soon the New Year and maybe I really need some kind of grater.
Trendy
Damn, you need to read at least the previous message. They have already answered my question there. Well, I don't see anything for joy.

Trendy, happy birthday and such a wonderful gift. Have you bought a grater for Kirov?
fakell
I am reporting. Of course I bought it that day, but I could only go to the Internet today.
Bought:
1. Box for inserts for the vegetable cutter model "V-PRIMA" - for me it is very convenient to keep so zap. knives.
2. Vegetable cutter for decorations "Deco-Star" - when I took it I was thinking about vegetable festive salad and NG. I haven’t tried it yet, but I hope I don’t regret what I bought, it will be beautiful.
3. Pizza grater
4. BABY-GRATER grater
5. Sharpener for carrots - took for decoration in salads. Has anyone used it? Does it cut well? turns out beautifully? I haven't opened mine yet.
I spent a long time thinking about the Carly salad grater, and never bought it. I haven't seen it alive, but from the picture I can't understand what the "highlight" of this grater is, because "Pizza-grater" is also for salads? Can anyone have home pictures? I would like to look at a homemade salad.

Thank you for your congratulations! They bought me a teacup at the Metro. Although, judging by the site "Pogrebok" on Kirov, the price there is lower and there is more choice.
fealca
Trendy, the prices are really lower there, but at the expense of the choice - I don't know when I was, there were only 2 models, and there were no attachments for 10, but there were also some graters.
And the attachment had to be ordered at the office. I'm waiting when he comes, already in the city.
Margit
Girls, no one had the idea to buy a spare frame from their grater and work together in four hands? After all, only one insert works, and additional inserts are idle, waiting for their turn.
I don't want to buy another grater, soon there will be no place in the kitchen for devices, and one frame will take up a little space, and the benefits are obvious.

Lorik, which one is more convenient for you to work for? I have both, but I haven't tried this 1.6 yet. Gonna get some celery root salad THIS... for some reason, it seems to me that 1.6 should be easier, and it seems easier to wash it later ... but then you have to pick out the lumps from the Korean .. Am I right or ..?

And I have Prima, so I ordered it on Burner. ru frame from Trend and inserts 1.6 and 10.0. I thought, than buying another grater, the frame and those inserts that are not included in the kit are better.

The party said - it is necessary, the Komsomol answered - there is! I bought a carly and a grooved knife. Losing my mind, I think where to apply.
Grater salad Karlie Berner is indispensable for shredding cabbage into delicate thin salads. Great for marinades and pickles! It is recommended to work with a fruit holder!
You can surprise your family and friends with magnificent summer and winter cabbage salads, having a Karli grater. Winter cabbage has very wide and thick leaves. The Karli teeth are designed to delaminate these thick sheets. With such a grater, regardless of the season, your table will always instantly have a magnificent airy vitamin coleslaw with cucumber and onion. With this grater, the knives cut in both directions, and you get the result instantly!
And for those who like canning, there will be an opportunity to cut vegetables into beautiful "grooved" shavings that will look great in your marinades.

Please explain the difference between the "PIZZA-grater" and "KARLI-salad" graters?

The most significant difference is the PRICE!
Salad has a lot of steel grooved knives and is significantly more expensive than an all-plastic PIZZA grater.
But PIZZA is made of very hard plastic and will last you a long time. It is also important that boiled vegetables and cheese do not stick to a completely plastic PIZZA-grater (unlike metal knives on SALAD - everything sticks there as usual).
Of course, you will also rub the cheese on a salad dressing; not then you will have to wash it from the corrugated small knives with a brush.
PIZZA is also half the size of SALAD by its "machine size" and you definitely won't cut cabbage on it.
On the SALAD knives they give wide shavings (about 1 cm) - this is normal for a casserole, but hardly for a herring under a fur coat ...
Conclusion: buy both - you will not regret it. The functionality is different!

Well, I don’t know ... it sticks and crumbles (if soft) That's why cheese is the only thing that I grated on a regular grater.

1. Tried the Pizza Grater for beetroot salad. The size was not very suitable, a bit big for us. But this is not for everybody.
But for the noodles, I think it will be good, I plan to try. Then I will unsubscribe.
2. Using this time "V-PRIMA", I realized that I do not need a 10mm insert. Suitable for frying potatoes 7mm on 1 position (larger). I don't have any fries and don't plan to buy them yet.
In short, all the inserts in the set completely suit me and so far everything is enough. Cubes in one move are a huge plus. Helps out with a bow.
3. After trying the graters, I nevertheless came to the conclusion that the "Roko" grater is irreplaceable for borscht (for me!) The size, taste, and beautiful are very satisfying.

Congratulations! Excellent purchase! From the very beginning, get used to working with the holder (habit is a good thing), take care of your hands.
The other day I received my order - the Trend frame and inserts 1.6 and 10.0.Box 1.6 is super! I could not even dream of such a cut, such beauty, lovely !!! I thought I didn't need it, there is a separate Roko grater, but no, it turned out to be, how! I'm just in awe of her.
I also want to share how I am making cubes now. Although I have Prima, I didn't like the cubes - the rhombuses on it, and they are too small, as it seems to me.
Somehow here in the subject I read the advice of a forum member, how she makes cubes: - removes the insert - holds the vegetable along it - inserts the insert - holds the vegetable across.
It seemed that it was confusing to do this, but the idea got stuck, I thought, why not? I tried to do something with inserts 0.7 and 10 - I didn’t like it, the cubes still turn out to be small 0.7, but I don’t want to remove and insert the same insert.
Having received a parcel with inserts, I immediately tried to cut into cubes with two 10 mm inserts and - IT WORKED! These are exactly the cubes that I needed.
In general, we do this: we simply put one insert on the table, we draw a holder with a vegetable along it along it - cut it, transfer the holder with potatoes to a grater and carry it out as usual with a holder - cut it. The main thing turns out quickly and the cubes are all one to one, even and square, and the size is what I need!

Margit
Quote: Omela

How interesting!!!! (y) Ritual, at least just go try it !!!! My cubes didn’t fit with Berner.
Mistletoe, if there are two inserts 10.0, then you can be sure right now! It turns out wonderful cubes! Now you will have a great relationship with Cubes and Burner!

Margit Thank you. I suffered for a couple of days with the fruit holder, quietly swearing, I could not adapt in any way, I even managed to scratch the hat, apparently turning the wrong way in the heat of the struggle - and then suddenly I discovered that I was cutting it calmly) There is also a product that falls off, but this flaw will be removed by training)

In Prime, there is no insert 1.6 (somehow I did not take into account when buying). And what are you cutting her? I seem to have enough small cuts of 3.5 in 2 position, smaller and do not need

I haven't mastered cubes yet, I'll take note of your method

marinal apparently this is someone who loves to cut potatoes. I bought such an insert for Prima, specifically for potatoes - but a bit thick for my taste)

Well, here I became the owner of the V Prima grater ... I wanted it so much, but it turned out that for carrots in Korean you also need to order a separate grater ...
I was somehow upset ... I can't buy it in my aul, no, my brother gave me this one, brought it from Moscow,
but I'm very good. absent-minded, so I didn't read that I had to order a "roco" for carrots ...
I used a grater once already, I cut vegetables for borscht and that's it, I still cut potatoes with a knife ..

Maybe I'll still love her, what do you think ??

Aprelevna , it's a matter of habit. The main thing is to put the grater so that it is always at hand. At first I also rarely used it, and then I left for the dacha without it and held out for a month - I brought it !!!!! Good luck!
