Of course, you can try. And what is the meaning of a whole carcass? Then you still need to gut and cut into pieces
Lagri
My mackerel in pieces turned out to be some kind of fluffy a little, loose, and when I put it in the marinator, it was tight. But I did not 2 cycles in the marinator, but three. Maybe that's why. The last piece, the tail, turned out to be bigger than the others when I cut it, and when, after the marinator, I cut this tail in half, I liked it more in taste. The rest are also not bad, but they somehow fell apart or something. Therefore, I asked about the whole carcass. I will, of course, still try. But thanks for the recipe anyway!
Tatiana S.
I cut in rather large pieces and not completely thawed. Did you take out the grill (tenderizer)? It must be removed so that the pieces do not loosen.
Tatiana S.
And we also got hooked on lightly salted cucumbers. Every day I do, fly away instantly.
I cut off the tips of the cucumbers and cut in half, take small young ones (if very small, I laid them whole, only cut off the ends). I put about 1 kg or a little more in the marinator, add 1 tbsp. l. with a slide of salt (ordinary spoon), a whole head, large, garlic (I do not cut the cloves finely), 1 tsp. mustard seeds, fresh chopped dill, you can also other spices to taste. Then I pour in about 300 ml of boiled water and add about 100 ml of apple or pineapple juice, and another 1-1.5 tbsp. l. soy sauce. Today I didn't have any juice, for sweetness I added 1.5 teaspoons of sugar (I had cane, brown). I scroll through 1 or 2 cycles (I also take out the grid). If I do it in the evening, 1 time is enough, and if in the morning - 2 cycles.
Lagri
I also often make lightly salted cucumbers (by the way, because of them, I bought a marinator), but I don't cut them in half. I took the recipe from the forum first, and then everything by eye, it's still delicious. Now I'll try your recipe

They have the same working principle. Air is sucked out of the flask and the stand rotates this flask for a certain time. The only difference is that some suck the air automatically, while others have to do it manually. I do not see the point in automatic, since it is done by hands in literally a minute or less. Conclusion - you can buy any. And in my opinion, the cheaper, the more fun for the wallet, since there is no difference.
Maybe someone has a different opinion.

Elena Bo , thank you!
really accurate no matter what? all of the same quality?
Elena Bo
I don’t know about the quality. But I have, apparently, the cheapest - Ves 9 minutes. Its price is 800 rubles. I have no complaints. I am quite happy with it. More expensive than me, the toad would have crushed to give. It's my pleasure.
Elena Bo
The flask can also be used separately as a vacuum container. True, it is big, which is not bad, but it only fits on the shelf of the refrigerator. But the vacuum holds perfectly. I bought an extra flask and I am doubly happy.

glass flask? what volume does it have?
Elena Bo
The flask is plastic. Glass I don't know if there are marinators? I didn't measure the volume, but visually three (or 4?) Liters. Designed for bookmark weight no more than 2 kg. 300 gr.

and I bought the cheapest one. I just have "9 minutes". at first I rarely used it, and then I got into it, and now I use it very often. I have a flask in the refrigerator that fits upright.

Where did you buy an additional flask? would have got it too!
I recently bought vacuum containers for my farm, it's convenient, it's a pity that you can't attach a marinator to the motor!

I don't remember exactly, either 350, or 450 rubles.

Please advise what I'm doing wrong .. I bought a VES VMR-12 marinator, but I can't pump out the air
Rather, I do not really understand which caps need to be removed or nothing needs to be removed, insert the pump into the lid and pump it out as it is. I tried it in different ways, and took off the small cap under the lid. and took out the valve protection, and nothing works. I didn't find anything about this in the instructions ... And the pump itself runs so easily, without effort .. I kept a black rubber band in boiling water, on the pump that .. Probably a defective one was caught .. I read the topic, I did not find answers to my questions. If you missed it, stick it with your nose, please
Elena Bo
The cover was originally assembled. You just had to put the pump on top, press and suck the air. It is important that the rim of the can and the lid are dry and clean. To release air, simply pull on the rubber band on the lid.
finanna
So I have a defective one. From the very beginning I did just that, I just applied the pump to the lid and tried to suck the air out. Nothing works
Elena Bo
Do not just attach, but press firmly. Air is sucked out differently depending on how the flask is filled. If there are few products, then longer. At first, the pump runs easily and only towards the end is tension already felt.

And I tried without food at all, took it out of the box and let's play it up Maybe this is my mistake, that is, it does not work empty or something ...
Elena Bo
And empty works. But it will suck for a long time. I was somehow played.

So I probably sat for about three minutes ... I even clamped the junction of the pump with the lid with my hand, I thought it was poisoning somewhere Tomorrow I’ll try with food, but honestly, I don’t want to get dirty, I’ll suddenly have to hand it over
Elena Bo
Pour in water gently so as not to wet the edge. And try to pump out the air.

I will definitely try it with water today, just finish the glazed curds according to your recipe (right now I smear the molds with chocolate, what a coincidence). Cheese - no words, for which I thanked in the relevant topic
Tatiana S.
finanna, that was familiar to me too. It's all in the past now. I no longer use my own pump. Thanks to the members of the forum, I bought a set in the fixPrice store: a vacuum bag with a pump (for 74 rubles). Now I use this pump.
I take off the rubber ring from my own pump, put it on the valve on the marinator, press the pump from the set tightly (I don’t put on the corrugated tube from this pump, I use it when I attach the pump to the vacuum bag), 3-4 smooth popping - and everything is OK. And my marinator is the simplest - "9 minutes", it is already a year old. While working fine.

And with me, with an empty container: I shook it 9-10 times and the lid does not open, but I usually shake it 16-20 times, if something is pickled.

I think that you need to hold onto the pump itself in the middle and try to press it tightly against the container and pump it out 20 times (3 minutes, it seems to me a lot) with an empty container (you don't need to remove the caps). Then check whether the container lid is open or not (it should not open). After the purchase, I also did not succeed, I panicked a little, and then I got used to it and everything began to work out. And I didn't pay much attention to whether the edges of the container were wet or not. And check if the ring is right. When you insert a little thing with a ring, then you need to turn it a little (fix) so that it does not come out freely. The pump moves all the time sooo lightly, and it seems that nothing is being sucked off, but in fact it is pumping out air.

I got my little device today and I was probably happy early, something doesn’t pump my pump ..., it keeps it a little and that's it .. I tried it with products, it doesn’t hold it .., but in us in Ukraine, oh how bad it is to return .. profitable, I don't even tell my husband

I want to calm down. Don't get upset before the time. I, too, at first it was like that, and then on the advice of our forum member Love (see post # 416 dated May 20, 2012) I bought a set, a pump + a vacuum package in the FIX price store, now I use only this pump. Lyuba sawed off the tip from the pump, but I did not saw off anything, I just remove the O-ring from the "native" pump, put it on the valve of the marinator cover, firmly press the pump from the purchased set (I only remove the corrugated tube from the tip), literally 5-6 smooth jocks - and everything is OK. Holds perfectly. My marinator is a year old, I use it quite often. I have an inexpensive one, but it quite satisfies my needs. Good luck
Irina Kalush
today I tried it with a vacuum cleaner and it worked, it means that the pump is really not working ...
igorechek
Buy a VES marinator. They are different. I bought with a 6 liter can and an electric pump. You don't need to swing your hands. And when the air is pumped out, I put it on the wheels of the device and the flask turns and marinates with quite a small amount of marinade. Well, very convenient!

Hello, and I looked at the VES VMR-13, who can say what about this model?

Marinated chicken (3 cycles), and then potatoes with carrots (1 cycle). And I put it on to bake, I'm waiting for the result ...

I was afraid, after reading, that I could not pump up the first time. But everything worked out! Pah-pah ...

Tell me, I could not disassemble the pump in order to lubricate it, I took off the gum, but the handle cannot be removed, is that just me?
And it also works loudly, is this also the case for everyone?

Hi girls! May I have a question about the mushroom salad? Should the mushrooms be cooked, or should they be thrown directly into the marinator? And the plate needs to be removed?
Natalishka
Sprig @, On page 1 there is a recipe for pickled mushrooms. Everything is described in detail there.

spiked plate? it is not needed for mushrooms, it will tear them like Tuzik a heating pad, it is used only for meat
Sprig @
Thank you girls! Already boiled the mushrooms. They stand, cool down. As they cool, I'll throw it into the marinade bowl. In our city, only a Chinese 9-minute marinator is sold, I bought it.
Honestly, I brought it home, tried it and was upset. Air is not pumped out by the pump. Then, tormented, in order to understand what the problem is in the lid or pump, I decided to try it with a vacuum cleaner, it turned out right away. I decided that the pump was defective, I had to go to change it. Then I read the forum and decided to try it again. It began to be obtained by a pump, but after a while the air came out of the lid. I was not discouraged and continued to try in different ways. I need to pump the pump 30 times to keep the lid. At the end, I already did an experiment with wet towels (well, so that there is no smell left from the food, if I still decide to change it) All 3 cycles the lid did not disappear))))))))

Today I am making mushrooms for the first time. I hope the marinator will pass the test

And, I also smeared the gum in the pump with Vaseline oil. Immediately it became easy to work, otherwise the piston moved so tightly that while I was torturing the marinator I thought I would die on it

yes pumps in marinators especially "in 9 minutes" I have the same problem ...., I continue to use a vacuum cleaner, more nothing helped ...

I chose a VES marinator and decided that 4L is enough and an electric pump is not needed. In none of the three brought initially did not work (11 and 13 models). Therefore, I chose VES VMR-10, since the price is 960 rubles in total (in cyber) and the drive is completely removed into the flask for storage.

SUPRA MRS-101 is the same VES VMR-11, only 500r more expensive.
Maybe not so necessary thing, but it won't hurt. Kitchen 10m, so it fits ...
Prus - 2
It has not worked for you yet, since you think it is not a necessary device! I have been using it for the 2nd year very often, especially for meat it is cool - instead of days in the marinade, in the refrigerator - 3 cycles in the marinator! And mushrooms, and cabbage according to Aunt Basie's recipe, and zucchini, etc., etc.! And if it were not there, how long would the cooking stretch? I have VES - 10 at home, recently I ran "9 minutes" as a gift. In principle, they are the same! In both, the pump was well lubricated with Vaseline - both pump out the air perfectly! But in my VES the piston moves freely (and it is not clear whether it has pumped out or not until you try to open the lid), and in "9 minutes" after 7-10 strokes it is already difficult to swing. Moreover, this is the case with both pumps. I think the difference is in the membranes. But both hold the vacuum well - I marinated for 3 cycles, then put it in the refrigerator for a couple of hours - the lids were kept.
Arkady _ru
I have never worked yet. This thing will be very useful for me.
I love sweet peppers, marinated squash and cabbage in Mexican (why I don't understand in Mexican, but my aunt calls it that). I will even try to marinate minced meat, not to mention pieces of meat.
Mechanics in such devices is a plus, and electronics is a minus. Because of her, all the intractable breakdowns. In general, I'm waiting, tomorrow the order will be delivered to pickup. I can't stomach the delivery because of the need to hang around at home. Okay, if you fell out of the plane and got sick; or what severity.
Prus - 2
Arkady! But try Aunt Basie's cabbage recipe https://Mcooker-enn.tomathouse.com/index.php@option=com_smf&topic=24752.0 - this is incredibly tasty cabbage! And in it finely cut greens - for 1 kg of cabbage a bunch of dill and a bunch of parsley. 1 kg of cabbage (count the rest) is just the volume that fits well in the marinator. And do not crush the cabbage. I cut everything in the combine, put it into the marinator (pull out the spiked plate!), Add sugar-salt-oil-vinegar, and for 2 cycles. And then cool the greens in the refrigerator.
Arkady _ru
Life is not enough to try everything on the site.
Sobsno, this is what the Mexican aunt calls. Crumpled just a little before the bookmark.
Prus - 2
She will think about herself well in the marinator! It's great that you have the same delicious recipe! And here I also definitely add greens - the taste-color-smell is awesome!
Arkady _ru
Greens for an amateur. My wife is ready to eat cilantro with everything, but my daughter and I cannot stand it; my daughter doesn't eat dill, but my wife and I eat; I like hops-suneli (but with meat it is, however, no longer greens).
Prus - 2
In any case, there are thousands of wonderful recipes on our forum, as you correctly noted! So - good luck with your cooking with and without a marinator! And (in a whisper) do you already have a slow cooker?
