Hello everyone!
The first question is where did Albina go? Need advice why, having Deh-60, a fairly popular model, wants Redmond. Disappointed Deh?
The second question is Helen, why do you write that this model is not very suitable for the first saucepan?
Now the background, almost a story about myself. I was matured, I thought that I was ripe for buying a multicooker. Why do I need it? - the third question, I myself ask it ... The most important thing is that I need (this is a dream) to cook porridge on the lower level, some steam cutlets on the upper level ... 2 dishes in one. .. I want something dietary, paired, and it won't hurt the family ... Before that I wanted a double boiler, over time I realized that the slow cooker is cooler!
Delicious biscuits are baked there, you can cook breathtaking pilaf and super-duper borscht. But the sane half of the brain understands that I cook all of the above perfectly without a slow cooker on the stove and in the oven ... when friends and father-in-law come to us, the first question is, do you have borscht?
While searching the Internet and searching for affordable and good models, I set aside one and only one - DEH-60, 65. In it, you can regulate the temperature and make yoghurt ... (but I have a yogurt maker and I am happy with it) - when buying a multi, an ice cream maker is given as a gift. Well, I think, if I don’t buy it now, at a favorable offer, then I don’t buy 100% ... I made up my mind, persuaded my husband.
And yesterday ... Yesterday, on a bread maker, one very good girl advised me to buy a multi-cooker-pressure cooker, 2 in one for my steam purposes ... And I immediately wanted to ... Quickly cook beets, karkhokha in uniforms, cook rice + cakes ... additionally get super-duper borsch, pilaf and biscuit.
THIS IS IT ?
If yes, then you will be joined by another hobbyist of this wonderful pot, who hesitates to buy. Now I rush between dex-65 and redmond ... But this technique will be my first ... no matter how idle ...

For olla_13: Yes, from the very beginning it was necessary to boil a few slices of lemon, it kills all technical odors.
But I have noticed that during the cooking process, the silicone seal ring tends to absorb food odors.
Thanks to the manufacturer who originally provided the spare ring.
It can be used for some dishes that are not afraid to damage each other: milk porridge, compotes, sterilization, etc.
True, I get along with one ring so far. Although I was already preparing borsch, and milk porridge, and pilaf, and roast, and baked dessert.
It's just that after each cooking, my saucepan, a removable lid and a separate ring in a detergent with a pronounced lemon scent, the market offers countless of them. Plus I rub the ring with a lemon wedge and keep the pressure cooker open.
With the cap on the tooth.
The method of holding the lid on the pressure cooker is very reliable and stable, I wonder why the manufacturer did not note this design feature.

And also from my own observations.
Many users complain that there is rubbish in the recipe books, that is, the dishes according to the recipes given are not obtained.
Yes, I tend to agree. Some manufacturers "give" books of recipes for dishes taken from nowhere.
But not Redmond.
The recipes from theirs booklets are really sensible, but ... Several factors can influence the final result.

I have very soft water - this is the first factor.

Verification, testing of recipes for a specific model of a multicooker-pressure cooker are carried out in a laboratory, which is located I do not know where.
A pressure cooker is a device in which food is cooked under increased pressure.
The pressure is not very big.I will not state exactly how much, but approximately 0.5 atm. from the environment.
That is, even small changes in ambient pressure will affect the speed and quality of the final product.

I live at an altitude of 300 m above sea level - this is the second factor.

And of course, the quality of the raw materials cannot be disregarded.
Just recently I came across a potato, which I was tortured to stew, but they are all solid.

He piled up a lot, but the essence is short. Try it, vary it, and most importantly, write it down.
For example, I noticed that in order to get a quality result, the time specified in the recipe should be considered pure time.
That is, the starting time after closing the valve. And the pressure is brought to normal from 5 to 20 minutes. And it depends on the amount of liquid in the saucepan.

Good luck! I like to mess with him.

today I discovered that now our Redmond is in the foxtrot for only 499 UAH.
considering that it has a great bowl, a spare silicone ring, a steamer and a stand, this is a very nice proposition.

Sonechka, I also saw the price on the foxtrot for 499, while I was choosing and looking closely (I choose between DEX-40 and this Redmond), I updated the page on the foxtrot, the price is already 659 UAH, what a miracle.

I also wanted to ask you for advice on what kind of Redmond 4507 or dex 40 to take. I read a bunch of reviews and forums, but I can't stop my choice, like both are good, but you need to choose what you need 1 Please advise, as I understand you used both
Thanks in advance for the advice

In the store itself, until November 27, 499 UAH. worth it. Just a store and an online store are two different things. The store says that they have nothing to do with the online store (in terms of claims only, but this is the same thing) They have a newspaper on the website with store offers, there it is for 499 UAH. So decide quickly)

Thank you, Olya. I've found an official Redmond dealer in Ukraine, they also have a price of 500 UAH and free delivery anywhere in Ukraine

While there is no Albina, I will answer, since I also have a DEH-60, which I am very pleased with and, not so long ago, bought a Redmond 4507 pressure cooker. These multicooker are different and therefore complement each other, but of course you can do with one of them. This model of pressure cooker is very easy to use and therefore could be the first multicooker. But to be honest, I love DEHsik more.

Sparta, multicooker and pressure cooker are different things. But, based on what you wrote, Redmond will suit you more and will definitely not stand idle!
Moreover, for such a price and his saucepan is very good!
Elinana
Thanks everyone for the advice - yesterday I bought a Redmond 4507
I can't wait for it to be delivered, but for now I am waiting to read and outline your tips and recipes

PLEASE PROMPT, IT IS POSSIBLE TO COOK IN IT AS IN A CONVENTIONAL MULTI-COOKER IN THE "PLOV" MODE. e. BEFORE THE LIQUID EVAPORATED?

It is possible, but in my opinion it makes no sense. If you are interested in the shutdown function at the end of the liquid, then this is not.
Cooking technology in a closed volume does not provide for liquid evaporation, and the cooking time is significantly reduced.
Not enough water - the rice will turn out undercooked. It happened to me, added some water, boiled it and everything is OK.
I have been using it constantly for several days, nothing has burned in the pressure cooking mode.
The other day I tried to cook micro doses.
I put a silicone mat on the bottom, put a 0.5 liter jar. It contains 250 ml milk porridge preparation.
Covered with a metal canning lid without gum. I poured 400 ml of water into a saucepan.
The result is corn milk porridge. The appliance lid closed perfectly.
Everything was cooked under pressure in a kind of water bath.
Time was set for 40 minutes. It seems to be long, but no hassle.
The saucepan remained clean, the gruel of an amazingly evaporated taste. Milk did not even try to escape.

Hello everyone. Good luck!

Can you share a reference? I found one representative, but there the price is 599. I rolled my lip in a foxtrot to buy for 499, but if ordered from the website with delivery, it will cost 534 UAH.

Good evening!

Please tell me, the recipe book says 90 minutes under pressure is enough for making jellied meat. Will it really have time to boil down? After all, earlier in a pressure cooker, which is put on gas, they cooked for three hours, no less.

It will cook in an hour and a half - definitely!

Good day! Please help my problem !!! When washing the lid of the pressure cooker, the valve was lost, the one that prevents the lid from opening when the multicooker is under pressure .... More precisely, the silicone gum itself was lost ... If possible, post a close-up photo of this gum (valve). I would be very grateful !!!

I would gladly help, but my pressure cooker is in the country.
From personal experience, I can assure with 90% certainty that this seal is not much, but rather nothing, does not differ from the seals of other models.

a little later I will take a photo of the dex seal. They have a filling, like from one conveyor. I sometimes swap them as needed.

Hello, welcome to your friendly ranks. Today I became the happy owner of the Redmond 4507 pressure cooker cartoon! Already today I cooked stewed potatoes with chicken drumsticks and then immediately threw in the peas for 65 minutes. Everything turned out just fantastic. I was especially pleased with the peas, I open the lid, and it lies there with even peas, I touch it with a silicone spoon, and it immediately turns into a perfect puree. And how delicious !!! Even the son, who does not eat peas by definition, here says that it is very tasty and he will eat it with pleasure !!

I ordered myself 4506. I will test, unsubscribe)
4507 is as simple as a door and reliable, but what about the programs at 4506 still needs to be seen.
they have a common drawback - the countdown time does not come from the pressure build-up, but from the start and it is necessary to calculate the heating / pressure build-up and cooking time. In the same budget Saturn, this jamb is not, but there is no bowl, but here it is excellent.

Good day. Tell me, please, did you cook baked milk in this multicooker-pressure cooker? If so, please, tell me how long it takes to cook and the valve should be open or closed. I saw recipes for baked milk, but the stewing mode is used there, but in this multicooker it is absent.
Manna
Andrei, baked milk is obtained in any pressure cooker. Time 1.5-2 hours. The valve is closed - otherwise it will escape. But, of course, it does not quite come out as it does from an oven or a slow cooker.
Irusik
Good day!
So I bought this miracle of technology the day before yesterday. So far, I've only cooked pilaf and steamed fish. The pilaf turned out to be excellent, the rice is crumbly, in 25 minutes everything was boiled, cooked. The only thing, I don't have enough water according to the recipe, it came out a little dry. I will add more water next time.

Steamed fish - when the lid was opened, it was a bit windy on top, but juicy inside. In this regard, I have a question - is it possible to steam in foil under pressure? The instructions say only about the foil and the open valve

And I also have a question for those who cooked milk porridge. I wanted to make milk rice porridge, put everything according to the recipe. The porridge came out like a milk soup with rice, and I love the consistency of the "smudge". Maybe you need to pour less milk? And oatmeal has strange proportions - for 100 grams of cereal 750 ml of milk Share your experience, please
Manna

Can. Girls cook in baking bags in pressure cookers.

What were the proportions? In a pressure cooker, less liquid is needed - it practically does not evaporate. You can also keep the porridge heated for half an hour.
For rolled oats, a 1: 3 ratio (1 scoop of flakes for 3 scoops of liquid) will be enough. If thinner, then 1: 4.
Irusik
Quote: Manna
What were the proportions?

According to the recipe book - 100 grams of rice, 650 ml of milk.
Manna
This is a 1: 6 ratio. A little watery for a pressure cooker. Better 1: 4 if thicker, and 1: 5 thinner.
Coolbaba
Hello! Can you please tell me how to determine the position of the valve in a Redmond 4507 multicooker-pressure cooker (open-closed)? Where should the "nose" look?
Fly
Hello! I have such a question, maybe of course I'm not the first to ask it (I apologize in advance), but after looking through all the messages I didn't understand a little. This is my first experience with a multicooker. I just bought it yesterday. When cooking with a closed valve, how should the internal valve behave? Already cooked soup in it and cooked vegetables for salad. So, with the valve closed, the lid was blocked, the main valve behaved calmly, but the additional one hissed, snorted and steam came out of it, and so on until the end of cooking. This is normal? Help out the newbie!
Manna
FlyYou mean a steam outlet with a float next to the valve? If there is excess steam inside the pressure cooker, it is vented through the valve.
Fly
Yes, I meant this hole. But I have steam and splashes from this hole at the accumulated pressure, with the lid locked, until the end of cooking. Moreover, all products and liquid do not exceed the norm. So I think it should be so or not? Thank you for participating!
Manna
No, there should not be constant splashes. Splashes can occur if there is an excess of liquid and if liquid remains in the float after washing the lid. Continuous undercutting is also possible if the float rises unevenly when blocked.
Fly
Thanks for the answer. The float is level when blocked. I just cooked pilaf, I gently pressed the inner valve with a knitting needle, a stream of steam came out of there and it became quiet, and so there was silence until the end of cooking. Now I will watch. Perhaps after washing, the water really remains inside the valve. Now I'm hugging the multicooker all day, so it doesn't have time to dry after my trial and error. By the way, the pilaf came out really gorgeous.
Irusik
Please tell me how to cook buckwheat, rice, any porridge (not milk)? Take proportions from a recipe book or are there some practical best practices?
Manna
Here I have already answered the question about milk porridge:
Quote: Manna

This is a 1: 6 ratio. A little watery for a pressure cooker. Better 1: 4 if thicker, and 1: 5 thinner.

If you do not mean porridge, but cereals for a side dish, then for rice the proportion is 1: 1 (1.1-1.2), for buckwheat - 1: 1.5.
Irusik
Quote: Manna
If you do not mean porridge, but cereals for a side dish,

It is for the side dish. Thank you very much for your answer. And how long are buckwheat and rice cooked?
Manna
Quote: Irusik
How long does buckwheat and rice take?
10-12 minutes of net time.
soyka
Quote: Manna
10-12 minutes of net time.
What do you think is the cleanest time? Are you waiting for the lid to lock or are there options?
Manna
Yes, net time is the time from the moment the lid is locked until the end of the mode
soyka
That is, you wait for the lid to lock, and then set the time?
Manna
In a pressure cooker like this (it's just that the time is set differently in different pressure cookers), I just adjust the time after locking the lid. And initially I set the approximate time, taking into account the time for boiling water.
soyka
Clear. It's just that I have the same and therefore questions arise. when they write porridge in 7 minutes. Taking into account the increase in pressure, this will already be about 15 minutes. And sometimes the valve closed badly, you need to fix it.
Manna
Apparently, this means pure time, without taking into account the set of pressure and further unlocking of the lid.
soyka
That's what I understood. It's just that I'm used to specifying the time from the moment of filling in the pan until the moment when it is already possible to open and eat
Eleka
Hello, the other day I became the happy owner of this miracle, but I just can't understand the principle of action! In other models, you can set all kinds of programs and, accordingly, a certain temperature is programmed for each program! Here I can only adjust the time, and the temperature is constantly the same, maximum? Therefore, for me personally, for now, there are problems with recipes! I can't regulate the temperature!

And I also have steam coming from the valve in the closed position, should it be so or should it not release steam at all when it is closed?
Manna
Elena, it's a pressure cooker. Most pressure cookers are not temperature controlled. Under pressure, temperature approx. 115 ° C. Only I do not understand your hitch with recipes. You will write in more detail what the problem is.

In the closed position of the valve, steam can flow if there is a lot of liquid in the bowl and there is an excess of steam, which the pressure cooker releases through the valve. But there shouldn't be steam all the time. If so, the valve is not completely closed, the float is clogged and does not fit, or the cooker is not working properly.
soyka
Congratulations on your purchase! Indeed, the temperature is not set in this model. I regulate the temperature with a valve (when the highest temperature is closed) and open the lid to lower it.
If steam comes out with the valve closed and it hisses, then I move it a little until it stops releasing and hissing. It can release a little steam during cooking and this is normal.
Eleka
The problem is that it constantly hisses and steam comes on! While I cooked the soup and baked the apples! but the steam came out with a hiss on both occasions! I also made a biscuit, it turned out just perfect!
soyka
Quote: ElekaYa

As soon as the hiss starts, try to move the valve slightly until the hiss disappears.
