Leela, take an inexpensive yogurt maker with jars and without a timer + thermostat or a Brand 4001 yoghurt maker.
Leela
choose between:
yogurt maker Bomann JM 1025
I like it externally, the discount on it and the reviews on the site where I'm going to order good ones,
the only thing that is not visible is which bottom, it seems they wrote that it is good if the bottom is straight, it will be easier to pick up the replacement jars ...

Clatronic JM 3344 second option

help with the choice
Let me remind you that I want to buy a yogurt maker and a thermostat, I am from St. Petersburg, I found a store where the thermostat is like in the pictures that were posted in the subject, but apparently with a surcharge
so I want to choose an inexpensive yogurt maker, but a good one, of course))

They are not just twins, but the same yogurt maker. For some time now, Bohmann has been a part of the Klatronic concern, these are two plants of one holding. Their technique is made according to the same drawings, only each plant prints its own stamp. By the way, I have this clathronic yogurt maker for a year and a half + thermostat. Complaints when using all this time every other day - no yogurt maker or thermostat. Take any of them. The plastic is very high quality, glass jars. By the way, I took in Ukraine on their official representative website and it was cheaper there than in any online store. If you have a clathronic website in Russia, take a look there. And by the way, I also bought an additional set of the same jars there. He is very much needed.
This is where I got it:
Here and Bohmann and Klatronic and jars:

But I must say that there are no complaints about the yogurt maker, because from the very first time I connect it through a thermostat, and so it will overheat, I think, if without it.

Good evening everyone!
Girls, poke me or tell me! I'll buy a thermostat ... but where is it in the yogurt maker? in the center?

No, right in the center - there is a jar in the same place, you put it somehow so that the sensor lies between the jars. And it would be nice if it was constantly fixed in the same place, with tape to the bottom, for example.
Seila77
Thank you!
now I'm making yogurt and put a dense napkin on the bottom ... or rather, such a thing than the technique is wrapped ... I'll see what happens)))) although it does not overheat me (moulinex_) as tefal ...
may not need a thermostat
Seila77
everything turned out super!
Muscovites, what kind of milk do you take for yogurt?
fewnis
Urrra !!! I am also now a happy owner of a yoghurt maker Girls who have Tefal YG652881 tell me how to make desserts? The recipe book says to use whipped cream. Is it necessary to whip up the cuts? Or was it whipping cream? And what fat content is better to take?
irysska
fewnis
with the purchase of you
but about cream - of course, it is better to take good cream and whip, and in whipping cream, as a rule, only the name of real cream is from real cream, but so is palm oil and all sorts of whiskers.
Seila77
fewnis, I made only crème brulee from desserts, it turned out super! the curd turned out with a bang! but yogurt never, overheats ... and almost like curd with grains ((((
fewnis
irysska thank you!))) Still find this good cream)) we will look))
fewnis
Seila77, Wow! Overheats a lot? I myself have not yet made yoghurts and cottage cheese, because I cannot yet dairy (although I love it very much). Therefore, I thought so far to pamper my husband with desserts))) I really tried to pour water into glasses and measure the temperature on the yogurt mode, 42 degrees somewhere in the central jar. Too much of course. I thought maybe I could put a silicone mat on the bottom.
Cifra
fewnis, I have such a yogurt maker. Does not overheat. You don't need to whip cream for desserts, I just took heavy cream. If it seems to you that 42 degrees is a lot, you can make yogurt on the cottage cheese mode, the temperature is lower there. Well, the central two jars are the hottest, although their temperature is quite suitable for yogurt.
Seila77
I don’t know what it depends on, but the yogurt never came out! the infection overheats! (((and in moulinex it's just soup!
Seila77
Ferment Time, hours Temperature, оС
Bifivit 6-9 35 - 37
Simbilact 6-9 35 - 37
Curd 7-9 29 - 31
Acidophilus
noyemilok 12-14 37 - 38
Yogurt 5-9 37 - 45
Vitalakt 10-12 29 - 31
Streptosan 6-9 36 - 38
Kefir 10-12 29-31
Cifra
The table above shows that 42 degrees (Tefal claims 43) is quite suitable for yogurt. For everything else, you can use cottage cheese, there the temperature is about 36. It's strange that you can't.
Seila77
so I don’t understand ... so in order not to spoil the products I began to make in Moulinex

Well hello! Buy Tefalka for that kind of money, but do it in Moulinex ?!
Seila77
it seems to work out, but with grains ... can I do something wrong
but desserts, fly away

Maybe with grains, because the dry starter culture was not mixed well, it sometimes dissolves very hard and then such lumps are obtained.
Seila77
I have tried both with sourdough and with natural yogurt!
There is no such thing in Moulinex, there yogurt turns out as it should
irysska
Quote: Cifra

For everything else, you can use cottage cheese, there the temperature is about 36.
For cottage cheese, sour cream and kefir, 36C is also a lot, optimally 31-32C
And yogurt (but it is this sourdough, and not what we used to call everything yogurt) - 42C will endure, it is hardy in this regard.
Cifra
My cottage cheese is quite obtained from the sourdough on the Tefalev mode for cottage cheese, but I did not measure the temperature.

so it's good, happy for you means the temperature is right
And as for sour cream and kefir - they are more demanding on the temperature, if the temperature is high, then the cheese will quickly rebound, and especially kefir will be sour, because acetic acid bacteria will develop at elevated temperatures.
fewnis
Cifra thanks. I will try to put Yogurt on first. I used Lactin sourdough, the temperature there is, in principle, 38-42. And kefir on the Curd mode is better then to do. I used to have Moulinex DJC141. At first everything was good, but it became terribly overheating, nothing worked at all (((
Cifra
I have the best lactin for my taste. Then genesis, and least of all in consistency seemed to me vivo.

so I bought a tefalk for the same reasons!

handsomely
is yogurt fermented directly with additives or is it already a yogurt-based dessert?
Seila77
with jam and ferments! gently pour milk with sourdough on the thick jam and then as usual!
fewnis
The fermented baked milk didn't work what lm find, fight overheating.

it is necessary what kind of thread a silicone mat to find, to fight overheating.
You can try, if there is no silicone, you can put any lining under the hot on the bottom.
fewnis
Many people complain that Tefalka has uncomfortable caps - it's hard to open. I apparently have an improved model)))

Tefalka has very cute glasses, and the lids look super
the only pity is that it overheats

Girls help me out, I decided to sterilize the lids from the Mulinex yoghurt maker with a new one, they shriveled. I'm shocked. Yogurt will be ready in 2 hours, you need to cover it with something, maybe someone used other lids, at home there are only tiny and from 500g cans. Or can buy other banks, in general, roar from their stupidity, they say the best is the enemy of the good.

p. from. Who has Redmond jars from a set of 4 pieces, please measure their height and diameter.

And how did you sterilize that they shrank? I poured boiling water over them - nothing seemed to be done to them.

I put them in a double boiler for 3 minutes, after sterilizing the glass jars there, I decided to kill all the microbes

You can still close this yogurt with cling film and rubber bands, if any. and then find either suitable lids or new jars for these jars. Or another option is to find some kind of plastic (glass, enameled) container with a lid, where all these open jars will fit and close this container with a lid. And - in the refrigerator.
Mona1
By the way, when you eat yogurt, you can try to throw the lid into boiling water, then pull it hot over the jar. And so that it gets cold. Maybe it will take the shape of a jar again. Or put on a jar, steam it together. I don’t know how to help. It's a shame, of course, a new thing. I just pour over my boiling water, I was lucky, because I had read everything before and saw the reviews that people boiled jars and lids and also went bad.

That is unlikely. The covers are plastic, if I'm not confusing anything. How do you pull them?

I think there will be no more pulling, but I'll try, it's a pity for a new thing and a very good cobblestone in my garden from my husband's side that I'm always inventing something

This is not the first time for super cleanliness lovers!

Option one - buy new jars with lids. Look for where they sell not one by one, but immediately in a set, so it's cheaper.

Old ones, albeit without lids, will also come in handy. For example, ferment a new batch when there are still a couple of jars from the previous batch.

Well, the jars still break sometimes. So don't be too sad!

Mona1
Well, don't be upset. Are the jars safe? In the market or the host mage, you will look at the caps, maybe they will fit like mayonnaise jars, plastic ones?
