Lerele
Omela, I came with thanks, made, delicious. Of course, as always, everything is verified to the gram. The only thing is that the semolina is not at home, I replaced it with corn grits, it is like semolina, only yellowish, well, half and half butter with butter.

Srimati - Indian Apple Pie
Omela
Lerele, what a yellowish !! In my opinion, no one has baked with corn grits yet !! It can be seen that it turned out gentle, I'm glad I liked it !!!
Lerele
Omela, only the cereals need to be soaked for a longer time, it is clear, a little, quite a bit hard, there are grains that are felt, and the whole pie is so juicy, fluffy.
In general, it is very tasty
Omela
I would also grind it further. I don't know which one you have, but we have a fairly large one for sale.
Lerele
Omelawhere to grind it, it is very small

Srimati - Indian Apple Pie
Omela
No, well, compared to a semolina, something large ... I would grind it.
Lerele
Omela, lazily, although it may and should be. It's easier for me to buy semolina.
But it turned out so well, I can't even describe it, but it seems like the softest cake, and suddenly something hard in my tongue, it turned out to be such a "highlight", so if anything, I'll also do it again, with semolina it may be different, but so cool.
Omela
Yes, you are intrigued, I myself want to try now.))
Margot K
Greetings!
And who did it with olive oil, is it too heavy?
Omela
Margot K, I have never done it.
Bona fide
Good morning! Has baked three times already, the taste is amazing! Thank you very much for such a wonderful recipe! And my cat, she is still fastidious in food, devoured with obvious pleasure, enjoying the taste, although for 16 years I did not notice a weakness for baking) I always bake in a slow cooker, I followed the recipe twice without amateur performance, but for the third time I didn’t have semolina enough - I had to do 50/50 with oatmeal. The result pleased) The color of the cake was never white, but it's even more interesting this way. I read all the comments, so I was not surprised. Now I am studying Vedic cooking with you, I will definitely try some recipes from there. And Shrimati will bake many more times. Thank you Omela for the wonderful pies (and for the future ones too)!

Elena, glad. what I liked And thanks for the Hercules idea.

Respect will pass with another tidbit Shrimati Thank you

Greetings!
Well, since no one did it with olive oil, then I will report ... it turns out fine, not heavy, well, plus with a decrease in the amount of oil.
Omela, Thank you!
Jenealis
So it turns out that I constantly bake shrimati ??? I just bungled it this morning and took it to my friend. It was not for nothing that I was engaged in yoga, the word chakras opened in my chakras, I invented it at the age of 14, I now bake my daughter, amazingly, all the ingredients are exactly the same, the current is a little less sugar and I sometimes pour oatmeal into it, straight dry, not ground ... Today I made it with corn oil, it's really delicious !!
Omela
Margot K, glad. that everything worked out and liked it!

Jenealis, Evgeniya, for your chakras!
brena
Tell me how is this cake the day after baking? That is, is it stale?
Jenealis
brena, if not covered, then, like all baked goods, it becomes stale. And if under the hood, then great
Omela

how is this cake the day after baking?
brena, in a closed container (bag) does not stale either on the second, or on the third, or on the fourth (if there is anything left to stale) day.
Katya1234
brena,
We do not have time to harden.

Omela,
Oksana, thanks for the recipe! I've baked it twice. Even the most fastidious appreciated

Girls, I haven't baked it for a long time and forgot - what is the best way to beat butter with sugar - with a blender or a mixer?
| Alexandra |
And I also forgot - is oil here weight or volume?
ElenaBK
Baked this miracle in MV Panasonic 18. Baking 60 min., Turned over and another 20 min. baking. It turned out handsome, not a donkey. Many thanks to the author of the recipe. Now I would have to wait for it to cool down a little. The smell is worth
Omela
Song*, Anya, congratulations! You bought it anyway !!! Excellent pie turned out !!

Sasha, weight in grams. I am now putting in 100 g of corn oil. Beat with knives in Thermomix.

ElenaBK, I'm glad that happened!

is it better to beat butter with sugar - blender or mixer?
Sasha,
My butter and sugar are not beaten with a blender or a mixer. I just mix everything enegoically with a fork or a hand blender (according to my mood) and then add apples and raisins.
Oil 125g and 125ml are almost the same. Sometimes I add less oil - it turns out fine

Beat with knives in Thermomix.
Omela, how interesting, I haven't tried it in TM, I thought that everything would be smeared only on the walls ...
And at what speed will you beat?
Omela
Vikulina, at an average speed of 4-5. I do not pay attention, I do it on the machine.
Vikulina
OmelaWhen I make a full portion, I will try to beat in the Thermomix.
Omela
Victoria, I knead all the baked goods in TM.

The butter and sugar are whipped with a hand blender. The apple was small, so I added a banana, and this made it seem like I needed cinnamon here ...
Omela
Girls, I never track the consistency of the ahar butter - whipped or not. I played it for a couple of minutes and that's enough.

It was my aunt who melted it for me, did not cope with it ... you see too many buttons! And I really liked this cartoon. And the pastries in it also turn out wonderful.

Song*,
Nice pie! I also need to bake in my Panasonic.
Omela,
Ksenia, the last time I added a handful of fresh cranberries to the pie. The pie has become even tastier)). And the gingerbread mixture was added for flavor.
Once again, a million thanks from our family!
TanyaKotya
Omela, I am grateful from my family for the recipe for a delicious apple pie. Has baked several times, and always "with a bang". True, I slightly reduce the amount of butter and sugar, but I add cinnamon (for us, apples do not exist without cinnamon) and other spices or spices for sweet pastries.

Yeah .. where would I get a taku aunt!

Katya1234, Katya, I'm glad that the recipe stuck. Nothing takes him !! And cranberries too!

TanyaKotya, Tatiana, and thank you. I also pour less oil now.
Tricia
Ksyusha! I flew in with another thank you!
Not without the vytribons, but what a result!
I have a question of intensified eating of cottage cheese, but I do not feel like it at all ... I sat and sat, looked sadly at this curd pack, and then it struck that I want shrimati and that's it!
I blended a pack of cottage cheese 220 g of 2% fat from 150 g of kefir to a homogeneous mass, mixed with 190 g of durum semolina (all that was). And then everything was according to the recipe, only the smaller flour dough took 30-50 grams.
I cut the sour apple, mixed it into the dough, put it in a mold with a ceramic coating, leveled it with a wet hand, pressed the reconstituted plums (they were dried) over the entire surface.
40 minutes at 180-160 gr.
Such deliciousness turned out !!! And no hint of cottage cheese at all!
That's how I deceived myself!
I apologize for the soapy photos - I shot in a dark kitchen at night.
It seems that the cake is dull. In fact, it is only very slightly moist, and so crumbly and porous. The sour dacha plum, which no one eats just like that, turned out to be simply amazing in the theme of its sourness, the apples gave additional juiciness.
Already finished with sour cream
Thanks for the great recipe!

Tricia, Nastya, it's a great pie! I don’t remember, I think no one has baked with cottage cheese yet.
Tricia
I read somewhere in the comments to pies with semolina that on thick curdled milk, pies turn out to be more magnificent, crumbly, less dull than on kefir (it can be thin and not all semolina absorbs moisture well, and therefore the pies peck). So I thought that if you combine / blender properly dry cottage cheese with liquid kefir, it will be the most in consistency (and most importantly, it will be possible to attach too dry cottage cheese and too watery kefir). So, consider, almost did not depart from the recipe - as if with thick yogurt baked.

And do not say, consider it never left at all!
But the recipe is so popular and beloved - if you don’t get perverted, you will still get a delicious and recognizable pie! We already have a third of it left. Tomorrow I'll bake again (there were two packs of that nasty cottage cheese).
Omela
I also need to bake it in a lean version.
Tricia
Is it a lean version on mineral water, juice or water?
Interestingly, will you bring a report?
Omela
I have already baked and shown in the topic .. I like carrot juice. I also want to replace semolina with oatmeal. and the rest is all according to the recipe.
Tricia
Aha! On carrot! I'll go look at the Temko, it's interesting.
