Tanya (Admin), this is the video I found. just sooo clearly shown in the work of Isidri 500 and Isidri 1000

and there at 5:13 you can see that the walls of 1000 are thicker than those of 500, but both machines simultaneously and equally coped with the work ...
1000 spent on 30% email more energy ....

So much has been written and shown about these dryers, the dryers are worthy! And that's it!

I always think differently the cost of drying itself and energy consumption:
- Do I need this drying?
- what will I do with her next?
- how much finished drying do I need?
- I can buy all these fruits and berries in winter and how much?
- what quality will I buy dried fruit in winter?
- how much will it cost to dry fruits and vegetables in summer and winter?

Will I be able, for example, to buy dried zucchini in a store or in the market without any problems?
Or dried herbs for soups, exactly what quality is needed? not "galina blank" in a bag

Answer these questions for yourself! And then the question will go away - is it expensive or not expensive to have your own dryer?

And start drying quickly - winter will come quickly.
Then for sure, go buy dried fruits - and then you will definitely find out the difference in prices.

I get along fine with 500 x 11 pallets
Admin

The difference in cost is clearly visible on the example of "Moscow" strawberries

In the market, strawberries cost 300-350 rubles a kilogram per season - is it expensive? Expensive!

From a kilogram of strawberries with 50% sugar, I get 4 400 ml jars of ready-made jam. Good, homemade, high-quality jam, beautiful red color, cost price 75-87 rubles per jar
We go to the supermarket looking for strawberry jam. Where have you seen any jam at a cost of 70-80 rubles for a 400 ml jar?

I don't cook any jam with buckets, but from 2-3 kg. certainly. When at home a variety of fruits for "sweet" homemade

So with a dryer and dried vegetables, fruits, and even with dried meat.
Go to the store first and ask the price - then we'll talk about the cost of drying
Merri
I can't help but say a few words in defense of my beloved 1000th. Speaking about the fact that the cost of the consumed electricity is 30% higher than that of the 500th, it should be remembered that the 500th has about the same amount of drying on one tray than the 1000th.

GirlsWho dried raspberries in Isidri takes a long time to dry?

If you press the berry down with a fork, make it flat, it will dry faster.
I do just that, then into tea and porridge

Thank you so much, girls !!!

And at what temperature to dry?

On the site isidri-master write that whole berries dried for 42 hours ...

My first experience with marshmallow in Isidri Ultra did not work out very well: the marshmallow stuck to the pallets so that I barely tore it off, and this despite the fact that I oiled them. The marshmallow consisted of fresh field strawberry puree, oven-baked zucchini pulp and sugar. Now I think, maybe it is necessary to cut out circles from a Teflon mesh into these pallets ... If it will be removed so badly, then I don’t know whether it is worth bothering with marshmallow made of irgi, gooseberry, currant and other things. Now I'll fill in the second batch of strawberry marshmallow, grease more pallets with oil.

And which ones are thin? They are usually all plump enough, and if you put them in a marshmallow tray, then there will be nowhere to pour the marshmallow. Maybe someone uses us already and will share their experience?

And I had strawberry problems, but the mix of plums-apples-bananas was normal. On some forum it was recommended not to lubricate with rast / oil, but with lard, but I have not tried it yet. While I am preparing mashed potatoes, and I will dry later

The dryer can work for days, but you still need to turn it off periodically to cool the fan.

So it is still necessary to take a break in the operation of the dryer ...

And after what time and for how many hours?
kil
Crochet, Inn so that it cools down a little and the product cools down, then you immediately see the degree of drying, because, for example, tomatoes are very easy to dry out, they seem to be warm, soft, but cooled down and turned stone. And the mushrooms, on the contrary, seem to be dry, but cooled down and became wet.
Inusya
For the first time dried zucchini rings.
She quietly ate one pallet herself. The blessing did not fit into the jar anymore, so I "helped" ...
It turns out a bit like an unripe dried melon.
Recommend. Cheap and cheerful!

Inusechka, that is, you dried the zucchini in their natural form, not sweet, right?

Or did you dry up the sweets?
Tramp72
Still, I am somewhat disappointed with the Isidri dryer, or rather, with its marshmallow trays: any marshmallow sticks to them so far! Even if lightly greased with oil. That is, I have to lubricate them normally with oil, and not lightly.
Admin

Consult with other users of the dryer how they get out of the situation, how to lubricate and how the marshmallow is made before pouring onto a baking sheet
This problem exists for absolutely everyone who deals with marshmallow, and not only in Isidri
Tramp72
Thank you, I've already read the whole topic about marshmallow. And I did it in the old rotor. But somehow everything was expected there: there are no trays, well, no need, I used Teflon film for baking. And about isidri, many write that nothing sticks to them even without oil, that the trays are silicone ... That's the disappointment that I have trays - not silicone, but plastic, and everything sticks to them. Apparently, in order to dry without oil, you will have to stock up on Teflon rugs here.

that the trays are silicone ...

Something I have not heard about this so that the manufacturer declares about silicone trays in isidri
I have been using this dryer myself for a hundred years. A very decent model.

We need to adapt to everything, especially to a new thing (if this has already happened before), and sometimes we ourselves are guilty, because we simply cannot break away from the habit of using the previous model.

Tramp72, Yuliya! Good day!
I can remove the candy from the pallets in Izidri without problems. I grease the marshmallow trays with a cotton pad with olive oil and really "lightly"
I pour no more than 400 ml of puree on one pallet. If the fruit is sweet, then add 2-3 tablespoons of sugar to this amount of mashed potatoes, if the fruit is sour, then 3-4 tablespoons of sugar. If, after drying in a pastille, there is not enough sugar, then you can dip it in powdered sugar (when using ...)
Please tell me how much fruit puree you pour into one pallet and how much sugar you add to one pallet.Maybe your candy can be removed from the pallet poorly due to a large amount of sugar or insufficient drying time.

Prowet, comrades! Well, take me to the circle of resentful
By chance I heard about this dryer with the edge of my ear, and what do you think? For three days, or rather nights, I read about her avidly and immediately decided: I need it !!! Other models were not even considered)) Despite the fact that there is a freezer, which is already up to the eyeballs)) Now I sit and watch - the fourth hour of the night, it works, and I have a clear point, Mikhalych Just in case, if I fall asleep, I switched it to the minimum mode))
Since I took it in the basic configuration (+1 sheet for marshmallow and 1 mesh), I decided to throw in a little bit of everything for a test.
So we have:
-Zucchini with and without spices
-Apple slices
- Pastila (apple, kiwi, banana and the second option + melon). I was afraid to grease the sheet with oil, if it cannot be washed with a detergent, then you cannot wash the oil later, I am afraid of its further rancidity and stickiness, and therefore I smeared it with lard.
-tomatoes with spices
melon and a couple of kiwi slices
While all this was being cut and packed, the children were dragging pieces out from under their hands, so that not everything planned went into the matter.
Let's see what remains for experiments after drying))

What are the doubts? Slice and Sushi Dries well, delicious and dried.

Inna, I constantly say: in doubt, buy a pound of pears, cut and dry - and taste it - you will like it, run and buy a whole bucket.
To appreciate the taste of pears, you only need half a day to dry and devour
evrika_ea
Admin, please tell me the required minimum of trays and sheets for pastille. How many tomatoes and pastilles can be loaded at one time so that the result is the same on all trays without moving?
Scarecrow
Crochet,

Inn, I think there should be good pears. Do you remember the compote mixture we sold all the time? These pears were definitely there! Whole. I remember them, because the compote mixture was always eaten dry. Sweet and with a characteristic pear flavor.

Inusechka, that is, you dried the zucchini in their natural form, not sweet, right?

Or are you all the same sweet dried?

Inusik, I'm sorry, I missed your question.
I dried it as it is, didn't melt anything, but it turned out sweetish! Super!!!
PEAR:
Now about pears - tastier - except that melon and watermelon (which are drying for me now)
I have already dried 30 kg. I like them even better than apples.
I cut it into 4 parts, cut out the middle without fanaticism, and every quarter into 3 slices - just right! The day dries.
When I cut a quarter in half, it dries half a day longer, and the slice turns out to be uneven in dryness, as well as an equally thin slice.
MELON WATERMELON:
Today I specially bought 12 melons for a "delicacy" (I eat dry wine with them in winter). I dry it in slices no thinner than a finger, they dry for a day. Watermelon is similar.
I took "soapy" melon, I don't eat it raw, I like hard ones.
And this soap, and not very sweet, turned out to be (soft, when she cut, it already flowed down my hands)
And the dried one turned out to be honey !!!
BlackHairedGirl
Inusya, do you cut the skins from melons and pears? Or do you dry with them? And what is soap melon? You mean soft like potatoes?
Inusya
Yes, I cut it off from a melon and watermelon, but from a pear, of course not.
Soapy, it means to me, overripe, and not sweet. It happens, it comes across, already transparent inside, but there is disgusting. But my surprise was when the absolutely unsweetened melon, in dried form, turned out to be honey!

Girls, and I dried the pear without the skin, so vapsche as the gummies turned out, well, of course, this is only thanks to the cleaning cutter from isidri, 5 seconds and the pear is clean without the middle and cut into slices

No, it would be too sweet, there is already so much sugar in them that then it gets stuck in the teeth ...
Although melons and watermelons were sent to the dryer only those that did not want to eat because of their NON-sweetness ... Paradox

I have been using Isidri 500 for the third season and only recently made a discovery for myself - it is much more convenient to remove everything from the net if you put one hand under the net (between the net and the pallet), raise the net 10 cm upwards and remove the dried fruits and vegetables with the other hand. When you dry something juicy or too sweet, it sticks, and almost bounces off the curved mesh.

As for drying melons - this year I was lucky in the form of a grid of 35kg melons for only 200 rubles. Me and let's have fun - 2/3 of all this went into drying! I couldn't stand it in any syrup, just peeled a couple of melons in the evenings, cut off the skin by a couple of cm, cut it into 8 pieces lengthwise and chopped it on Berner. She laid it out in one layer on a grid on trays, set the temperature to medium and turned off the dryer in the morning. That is, it dried for about 8 hours. Then I put it in a transparent bag and put it into a container with a tight lid so that the moth would not start. The melon lay for several days and from dried (dry) it became more plastic, such as dried. It is very tasty to bite with tea, and just chew a few slices like that. It turned out quite sweet without any sugar, natural product! And the smell ....! Something indescribable! In winter, I want to add to tea when brewing, and add to cereals
And immediately after turning off the dryer, I let the products cool right there and only after that I put them in jars / containers. Only I must cover the dryer on top with thick gauze in several layers, otherwise food moths have started up in my kitchen, I can't get it out for the second year and I'm afraid that it will not get into my dryer. And then the bastards already made their way into dried raspberries and ruined one can of drying for me
Another young plum decided to surprise us - I collected two large buckets of prunes from it! Also, everything went to drying ... but I simply dried the plum half (I will cook compotes on demand), and first boiled half in syrup, and then dried it. Likewise 3 buckets of cherries. By the way, the cherry syrup was then boiled and closed for the winter
I love dried apples from Isidri, this year I read about an apple cutter / peeler on the site and bought it myself. Now the process of drying apples I think will go almost on an industrial scale!
