Somehow I wanted herring under a fur coat. But since the salad had to go to work with her husband, it was inconvenient to lay it in layers. I just cut all the ingredients into cubes, like in Olivier and seasoned with mayonnaise. Not only is it very fast, but the salad tastes differently! Since then, I often make such a salad.
All components are taken in any quantity, to taste.

Stele, I made it. I did not pin any particular hopes on him. I have never made herring under a fur coat. Our family does not "drag" from her. I tried the recipe for a change. And I really liked that it is done very quickly (not counting the cleaning of the herring). The daughter tried it. Believe it or not ..... she loved the salad. The combination of apple and herring bribed her. Onion sprinkled with lemon juice, which also added a spice. Now this salad will be made in our family.

I did not cut the components into cubes, but traditionally rubbed them on a grater. I tried both with carrots and without them. I liked it this way and that. I baked the beets in the oven, boiled the carrots in a micron (after rubbing them). Replaced herring with baked mackerel.

I peel the beets and potatoes, cut them several times and steam them in a slow cooker, the color of the beets is preserved. And I also cook eggs in a double boiler, because I constantly forget about them if I cook on the stove ...
