Potato Tortilla by Gordon Ramsay

Ingredients

Large potatoes 4 things.
Butter 100 g
Rosemary (leaves) 4 twigs
Thyme (leaves) 4 twigs
Salt, pepper to taste

Cooking method

  • Peel the potatoes, cut into thin slices. I rubbed on Berner, smallest position on the slicer.
  • Leaves with rosemary and thyme, salt, pepper, grind in a grinder or coffee grinder.
  • Melt the butter.
  • Pour 1/3 of the oil into a cast-iron pan, put 1/2 part of the potatoes with "tiles". Pour 1/3 of the oil on top, spread with a brush over the entire surface. sprinkle 1/2 with a mixture of herbs. Next, lay out the remaining potatoes, pour out the remaining oil and sprinkle with the remaining mixture of herbs.
  • Put in an oven preheated to 180C for 30-40 minutes before cooking potatoes.
  • Another seemingly primitive recipe from the book "Simple and Tasteful". Apparently, Ramsay has some kind of magic, which turns out to be very tasty !!! My men liked it!

The dish is designed for

4 servings

Omela! Your potatoes are fantastic! The photo is gorgeous as always! In general, everything that you show deserves the best words!

And Ramsey ... he is still a plagiarist ... I do not like him for some time now, (which, of course, he doesn't care) I'm afraid to say too much, but I quite often meet at his dishes that he is at ease tyrit of special French cuisine, and just as easily assigns them to himself, beloved ...
This dish is the world famous "Anna potato" (pommes anna). An insanely tasty peasant dish, which has nothing to do with Ramsey ... What does he care about, too ... Alas ..
Omela
Irina, Thank you!
Regarding Ramzi and who's tying whom. Maybe you're right. But for me personally - it doesn't matter. I saw the recipe, I liked the serving, I cooked, I liked the result. You can also remove Ramzi from the name, if this is embarrassing.
Mikhaska
What are you, dear! I started my chatter, because, by the way, I had to say about the painful ... Everything - exactly the opposite! If you see fit - delete my outpourings so that they do not interfere with people enjoying your theme!
Taia
This is why delicious potatoes are obtained for the recipe! I make baked goods in a slow cooker on the program.
Omela
Irina, you say correctly, let's enjoy the cooking and the result! And whoever came up with what, let them figure it out themselves.

Taia, I love thyme very much. I also make such potatoes with him (without turkey) https://Mcooker-enn.tomathouse.com/index.php@option=com_smf&topic=184172.0

No worries, no hassle, but your mouth is full of pleasure!

Mikhaska,
Anna's potatoes actually still have cream. And remove the rosemary.
Omela,
Thank you. I also have a burner, but I cut everything the old fashioned way, with pens. We must prepare this culinary debauchery and amaze everyone!

I agree with rosemary, but you can argue about the cream ... But, I'm already smart and I'm not going to spoil the Mistletoe theme.

Mikhaska,
"... but the truth is more expensive."))
I could also give a list of references, but I won't. Yes, and in Brittany, she ate with cream (although there in all dishes, even typical ones, butter and cream, the edge of milk, is poured).
Omela
Ludmila, Elenathanks, the recipe is really primitive plain. Berner is more convenient for me, it turns out faster and thinner. I can't cut it with my hands.

But I didn't manage to enjoy their cuisine. More precisely, even - the problem was to eat normal food. Everywhere - pubs and fast food. So I wanted to grill vegetables, even shout .. so I could not eat anywhere .. anywhere !!!! In Scotland, yes, and lamb in mint sauce, haggis (although I don't like it), etc.
Tumanchik
Xu! Fried potato is our fse !!!!!
Omela
Ir,

Omela,
I had to go to cafes specializing in buckwheat crepes. They often also serve grilled meat and vegetables (available on the menu). And the crepes themselves are a great thing. Better than any pizza. I should have put a couple of recipes on the bread maker. And also the most delicious food in establishments where the locals themselves eat.

PS I just wrote and realized that I was writing about Brittany (which is in France), and you - about Britain (that is, Great Britain).

In France there was something fire.. eat !!!

Yes, but I think they are all in pubs.
mur_myau
Omela,
In Britain, I was only at Silverstone (at the races). So, normal food was in fish and chips establishments. True, they fed deliciously, although for two or three days I got tired and wanted ordinary boiled potatoes, sauerkraut, lightly salted cucumbers, mushrooms and herring !!!

but in my opinion they are all in pubs.
You need to know the places.)) But seriously, ask the Russians living in these places or from local friends. It usually helps. I always do this before scouting new places.

Oooh, it’s like that for everyone. Once, after 2 weeks in Spain, I could not think of anything at all, only about potatoes and herring !!!

ask the Russians living specifically in these places or local friends.
Probably, but we had a very busy trip across Britain to Scotland Wells and back to London. And no positive food experience.

And then you come, and that's bad luck. I would like paella, cava, sangria and jamon.)))

What else was delicious. Portioned Yorkshire puddings. For some reason, the meat did not impress, but the puddings mmmm ...
Omela
Well, I don't eat puddings ... they were saved by Port wine.
mur_myau
Omela,
Yes, it's a cross between bread, clafoutis and soufflé. I don't even know how to explain. Tasty and not sweet.
Port wine is cool. Last year they brought me a bottle of Portuguese port, went to visit, and somehow imperceptibly drank a couple of glasses with a friend with a good treat. Then I look at the bottle: fortress, mamadaragaya. The head understands, and the legs suddenly gave up. Full perdimonocles. But delicious!
Omela
I have never met a normal Portuguese port with us, because it costs unrealistic money. In the same place, translated into our money, a 5-year-old cost about 300 rubles. They send them barrels for port from Scotland, and they return the finished product at normal prices. Sold in small shops that Indians keep. They don't keep more than 2 bottles in stock, so my big company and I bought everything in the nearest neighborhood to hotels.))) And in Liverpool on the outskirts, I was shocked by the liquor store. Everyone is behind bars (and the seller), released through a small window, we went in and out .. and the mounted police are in the streets. Here is a landscape approximately.
