Ingredients

Beet 1 large
Eggs 2 pcs.
Salted herring 1 PC.
Pickled or salted mushrooms 150-200 g
Bulb onions 1 PC.
Mayonnaise or sour cream with garlic / mustard by consumption

Cooking method

  • NOT a "fur coat"!
  • We are used to the fact that if there are herring and beets in the recipe, then this is a "fur coat". But here for the "fur coat" there are neither potatoes nor carrots, but many other things are present, NOT a fur coat ...
  • Boil the beets, cool and grate on a coarse grater, boil the eggs and cut as large as necessary. Chop the mushrooms too, but not too finely. Peel the herring and make fillets from it, cut into slices half a centimeter thick. Cut the onion into quarters and pour over with boiling water.
  • Lay the salad in layers: half beets, mushrooms, onions, eggs, beets, herring. I laid it out like this, in the form of a "crown" in a circle, poured mayonnaise in the center. You can also make a sour cream sauce with garlic or mustard, adding a little more salt than "to taste".

I found the salad on the website "Cooking with pleasure", but slightly tweaked it to suit your taste. It turned out delicious and unusual.
