Today I brought the yogurt maker Smile 3001 and put it to the test right away. Yoghurt was made immediately in a 1-liter jar, fermented with 100g Actimel, milk beforehand up to 30aboutC did not heat up (as recommended by the instructions). Periodically monitored the state of milk. I put it 8 hours, but 23 minutes before the deadline, the yogurt was ready. Now it is cooling down before being sent overnight to the farm. I felt the inside of the yogurt maker: the bottom does not heat up at all, it is heated only by the walls. No overheating. I did not hear a sound signal at the end of the mode, since I turned it off earlier. I don't know what the power of other yoghurt makers is, the power of Smile 3001 is only 9 watts. Next time I'll put the yogurt overnight.
euge
The quality of yoghurt depends a lot on milk. About a year ago I made yogurt from Peskarevskoe milk, so after 8 hours I got a sour liquid. Then a long time later, on the same milk, something similar to thick yogurt turned out, but at the bottom of the can, about 7 liters, there was a 1 cm layer of water. Now I no longer experiment with milk from the Peskarevsky dairy.
Marusya
I realized that there is simply no yogurt maker that would not overheat. And so I wanted to update the kitchen. technician, I will use my Ariet with a thermostat.

But I liked the smiley 3001, I don't know how to be right now either)))
If you liked it, take it. Moreover, her price is nowhere lower. And the space on the table is no more than a 3-liter can. The yogurt turned out to be very thick to the very bottom of the can. No delamination. Overheating is practically impossible, since the glass jar enters the yoghurt maker with a significant gap. I'm happy, there's nowhere higher.

Overheating is practically impossible,
I'm overheating. At first everything was fine, but after six months of operation, it began to overheat. And the timer has a life of its own - it can beep whenever you want, regardless of the set time.
euge
Do you reset it at startup? I read it in reviews on E5. RU, which beeps randomly, if you do not reset the timer.
Bridge
Zeroed out. Recently, I have not turned on the timer at all - I prefer to personally monitor the degree of readiness.

I have a DEX 108 yoghurt maker. At first it kept the ideal temperature - 38-39C, but after about a year of operation it began to overheat, and not bad. I bought a thermostat and since then I have been using the yoghurt maker only in this tandem.
Therefore, I know that even the most non-overheating yogurt maker can become one over time, alas.

It is a pity if this suddenly happens: in our cultural capital it is very problematic to buy a heat regulator for a yogurt maker, I found the only store, but you need to buy 20 doses of starter cultures for it and spend money, that you can more than buy 2 more yogurt makers with them.
rusja
The manufacturer of thermostats sends them to Russia, and it seems that even with shipment, it is much cheaper than buying locally. Girls ordered from our forum, ask them (manufacturers) for the address

Tatyana, I will gladly take advantage of your offer. But how can you make up for your shipping costs and, in fact, for the regulator itself?
No, this is not my cost, this site will send you they send not only across Ukraine. You write to them, clarify how much everything will cost together - shipping to you + the thermostat itself. Just stipulate that you need a flat wiring from the sensor, what type you need for a yogurt maker. It then fits under the lid of the yogurt maker well. I have - with round wiring. Therefore, they made a small hole in the bottom of the yogurt maker and inserted the sensor inside. But, in fact, it is more convenient to use it in this version, as for me, than when the wiring is constantly interfering at hand when opening and closing the yogurt maker. I'll take a yogurt maker with a thermostat for my daughter-in-law, then I will also take it with a round wiring. But if you don't want to make holes, then ask for a flat wiring from the sensor ..

Good evening!
Once I accidentally came across your forum and since then I regularly visit it, though only as a reader (there is a lot of useful information here)
And today I decided to contact you with a request - help me choose an inexpensive yogurt maker
no experience with them at all
leafed through the topic, many different reviews, many yogurt makers, completely confused
I walked through my shops, from inexpensive ones I got these:
Maxima MYM-0154
Bomann JM 1025 CB
Ariete 85
Maxwell MW-1434
Vitek VT-2600
Can anyone come across such, please tell me which one is better to take?
Marusya
I am very pleased with Ariet.
P. Pendurina
Maxima MYM-0154 and Vitek VT-2600 I would cross out right away. What kind of form is this you can only cook in your own jars, and if you take a yogurt maker of the form, like in Bomann, then you can insert your own jars, and a bowl of some kind, and disposable dishes, etc. the yogurt maker with the highest cans, so chances are that baby food cans and whatever else you buy from cans will fit in, meaning you will have free spare cans. Jars of baby food do not fit into my yogurt maker, and this is a bummer because I miss 7 of my own jars.
euge
Yesterday I made yoghurt, but the milk was different, namely Dmitrovskoe 3.2%, there was a lot of water in the finished yoghurt: the yoghurt did not have a rather dense homogeneous structure, unlike the Domik v Derevny milk yogurt of the same fat content. He warmed milk before fermentation, fermentation time 7h30min. There was no overheating. The quality of the original milk plays an important role.

Thanks to your forum
bought a Vinis 1600 yogurt maker on the advice of a friend, temp. heating was 52 grams upset and sent back to the store
read for a long time on the Internet about thermostats, but did not see the information that it is so easy to install
in short I bought DEX 108 + thermostat and voila
Thank you very much, in total it cost no more than 250 UAH and I think there is no point in buying more expensive

I see you have not only a dex yogurt maker) in general, as I understand it, the company is not bad, although samadex without a thermostat still warmed up to 47

yes, unfortunately, my yogurt maker Dex, after a year of work, began to overheat, to about 44-45C, although at first she kept the temperature at 38-39C
well, nothing, the main thing is that there is such a wonderful thing on sale as a thermostat - with it, no overheating is terrible
Mona1
yasusha, congratulations on your purchase. It turned out to be a very good tandem - both the yogurt maker is praised, and the thermostat will not let her get naughty if something happens, and taking into account that summer and heat, all the more so, now you have nothing to fear from overheating. Now the main thing is to buy good starter cultures.

Girls, and my Severin jG 3516 heats up to 60 degrees with a room thermometer in it. Heats up very quickly. In this case, the thermostat will help me or will it constantly turn off at such t as it turns on? She is not strong in physics, but with such overheating, I have not seen a yogurt maker in the subject of anyone. Does it make sense to look for a regulator or return it to the store as a marriage? With a bunch of cardboard at the bottom, yoghurt turned out, but after five hours of cooking t in a jar of at least 45 g (the thermometer does not show anymore, it is calculated up to 40 g)

I kind of looked, a yogurt maker without automation? Then a thermostat is simply necessary and your high temperature will not interfere with it. The lower and upper temperature limits are set on it and simply, when the temperature reaches the upper set limit, the regulator turns off the yogurt maker, the temperature starts to decrease and when it reaches the lower limit, it turns on again. In general, according to the principle, as in an iron. Read more here, by the way, I have a Clatron1c yoghurt maker, almost a copy of yours .:

And here is how my husband equipped a yogurt maker with this thermostat. The wiring from the sensor was round, it didn't fit under the lid, I had to pick a hole, but in everyday use, it seems to me that it's more convenient, and if you don't want to make a hole, then ask them to send it with a flat one.

Mona1, thanks for the answer. I went to order a thermostat

In the Smile MK 3001 yogurt maker, heated to 30aboutWith and fermented milk turns into dense, very thick yogurt in 6 hours, and not in 8-10 hours, as indicated in the instructions, because during this time stratification may begin. What's more good about Smile 3001 is that suddenly, when overheating begins, a large volume cannot be instantly heated, in the absence of a thermostat, a porous material of considerable thickness can be inserted into the gap between the walls of the can and the yogurt maker, determined by the size of the gap (up to 8-10 mm).
Markilena
People, advise !!!!!!!!!! I urgently need a yogurt maker - I wanted to buy a cartoon Dex with a yogurt mode, but now I realized that I needed a pressure cooker, but there is no such mode there. Rather, the pressure cookers that are sold in Ukraine do not have this regime. The family groans, demanding yogurt. In short, the question is - which one to buy - Vinis 1600 or Dex 108? I want to have a container for cottage cheese.

Huh, you're still asking! dex of course! you will not go wrong. you just get worn out with vinyl, and in my opinion the thermostat does not suit it (and vinyl is overheated 99 out of 100)

Tell me please,
My wife instructed me to buy a yogurt maker. After reading, I realized that everything is not simple here.

What good option can you buy in St. Petersburg? As far as I understand, the thermostat is required in any scenario, which does not bother me, but the question is with the place where to buy it. Price is not a question, the main thing is quality.

Sorry for my stupidity, but where is St. Petersburg? Russia or Ukraine or something else?

Mona1
🔗
This is Ukraine, Dnepropetrovsk. But they also send them to other countries, contact them.
I have one. Year and a half. No complaints.
And yet, you can only fit a thermostat into a yogurt maker without an automatic shutdown timer, without any electronics, that is, simple yogurt makers.
And yet, such a regulator, as in the link, cannot be pushed into the water (that is, the sensor from it). And some yogurt makers pour water between the jars, that is, look for a yogurt maker so that it works without pouring water. And if you like everything with some kind of water, then you need another thermostat, here Playful talked about this. Ask her.

I have the feeling that I have no choice but Brand 4001.
Is there a need for a thermostat or does it make no sense because of the timer?

Understood, the city of St. Peter. I thought so. if you don’t find it closer, contact Ukrrele, I gave the link. Many people from Russia ordered from there and say it is much cheaper there even with delivery than buying in Russia.

And here I am above about the thermostat, which can be used in water conditions, here Shalunishka wrote and look at her posts below:

No, they don't match. We had here with some yogurt maker that I managed to combine, but I don't remember which one. Don't risk it. Are there really no simple ones with just one On / Off button? For a price such a simple + regulator will come out no more expensive than an automatic one, which suddenly turns out to be useless due to overheating.
Mona1

Well, maybe you compared it to the other Bomann. Look here, Klatronic and Bomann in the second row of pictures side by side. An absolute copy, only the name is spelled differently. And the price is the same. It's just that one Klatronic concern took over the Bomann company. These are two different factories, but they manufacture the same products of the concern.

And above there is a set of spare jars. I bought them right away.
I once ordered their pepper grinder, and they sent exactly the same, but with the inscription Bomann.
