Note

From the history
Prominent Chinese written sources mention Kombucha from the Han Dynasty (about 250 BC). The Chinese called it "The Elixir of Health and Immortality", believed that it balances Qi and helps digestion. In Europe, kombucha became known as Kombucha because at the beginning of the 20th century the name of the mushroom drink was mistakenly confused with the kombu-chaa drink made from kombu seaweed. In Japan, kombucha is called kotya-kinoko (紅茶 キ ノ コ ko: cha kinoko), which literally means "kombucha."
According to one version, kombucha came to Russia through Transbaikalia from China in the 19th century, and was known here as a remedy for certain diseases.
It became widespread in Russia since the Russo-Japanese War. From the middle of the XX century in many Russian cities "tea kvass" was one of the widespread drinks.
In 1964, R. Sklener in Germany investigated the healing properties of kombucha and introduced kombucha into medical treatment, after which it became popular in Europe.
