Girls, they gave me a mini colander ... a green one, the one that recently came as a gift ... today I tried to put it on a 3-liter jar, and it doesn't fit ... I twisted it this way and that, but it's not in any one .. Sorry, a good idea ... maybe defective? Tell pzhl who used it and where?
Marina, the booklet doesn't say that it can be put on the can - how will it hold up, will that be? He just lies on top of it. That is, you can strain something into the jar. And you can drain the liquid only from cans.

And you can drain the liquid only from cans.
Why? My husband and I did a great job for a couple - in a few days I closed the cucumbers and tomatoes - drain there several times, so he poured, and I held the lid - just wonderful! And before, everything poured out of the cans, spilled by - in general, the horror was terrible, but now it's another matter! So try, girls, only with an assistant!

For me, it's such a useless thing .. dancing with a tambourine around the can .. and even together ..
Isn't it easier to put on a simple nylon ...
When I do something thoroughly, all in my thoughts, I should not be disturbed .. otherwise I can forget what to put .. salt there .. sugar or vinegar ... that's why I do it at night .. when no one distracts ..
My husband, of course, helps, but in the preparation of vegetables = peel the onions .. garlic, carrots or others .. Or apples, I planted them all to clean 5 buckets ..

susika Larissa, do you have a saucepan from the Chef in your photo?
My mother is busy with the blanks, she demanded a new pan. They almost bought Tamalera, they even gave me her home, try it on, so to speak. But she seemed a bit big to us, she returned it back. But this one, at 7.6 liters. just would fit. Is it generally better to take pans from the chef's series for blanks?
susika
ksysha22, yes, from Chef-7.6l ... Tamalera 19 liters. And there are 11 liters more.
We eat a little - I get this 7.6 liters only during the preparation. Vegetable caviar, thick jam is good to cook - the main thing is that it does not stick to the bottom and does not spit. I have a * mongrel *, but just as beautiful for 10 liters - it burns there, if not interfered, and spits.
During the time that I changed a bunch of pots, I had to take TV right away and that's it ..

Larissa, thanks. I think we should take it. Already spend money once, but use it for a long time and with pleasure.
The main thing is that the quality remains as before. You took yours for a long time. I don’t know about iron, but the quality of the plastic began to raise doubts. Already, some time ago, girls began to complain about smells, here and on other forums. And now, after so many years of using the dishes, this also affected me. Dishes come with a smell. From the latter: a set of Illumina, a jug of Halon, a set of SuperHitparad, etc., the bottles are all generally smelly. I’m ready to put up with this, if they gave a guarantee that the plastic itself is the same. But it cannot be the same, if it has a smell, it means that it is already definitely different. I adore this dish, but somehow it becomes sad.

Everyone's hands are different, especially after a fracture, it is difficult to lift cans. Therefore, everyone finds an acceptable and convenient way for themselves.
I already wrote in Kitchen Trivia that this year I bought a Fissman silicone potholder. With the help of it, I take the jars by the neck and hold the tomatoes with the hand of just this mitten.

Katya1234, Katya, well, I didn’t think about 3-liter ones .. I myself never make such big ones.
Maximum 1 liter. banks. Well, this one * adapts * sliding-incontinence does not go there for sure .. you will knock everything from there with the lid that crawls .. Either hold a jar .. or a lid ..
For 3 liters, there are definitely 2 silicone tacks and a nylon cap.

I had two suede kitchen mittens bought in the USSR for a very long time for hot cans - that's where it was cool - you never burn your hands and it's convenient, they were thin ... it's a pity they don't sell them anymore ...

Katya1234, Katya! I agree, fabric bags are the most correct! But for some reason I also want to put these bags in a box
(All the time I remember the bags of dried fruits that my grandmother sent from the south. So all kinds of flour bugs for some reason gladly moved to live in these dried apricots. Now I have no insects in my kitchen, and suddenly, through carelessness, I will buy some cereal with such I'm afraid they will quickly move to my dried apples ...)
In short, I thought of a problem for myself in advance, and now I hope that I can solve it in advance.
And at the same time I will also buy some new Tupper box
Elena17
Want to know everything, Tatyana, last year there were a lot of apples - they were drying in the Izidri dryer. I also thought - where to store it in the conditions of a Moscow apartment.
I kept it in oursoon sealed rectangular containers (2.4L) - this one was on the table all the time. And the rest - in 3-liter jars (sterilized them), under vacuum lids VACS.
Stored perfectly at room temperature. There were 5 cans (stuffed tightly). We ate it in June.
susika
I have a compote mixture (bought, dried fruits) .. on the weekend I collected my students and, if possible, poured all the bulk for them immediately into Novinki and compactus.
I poured new items from 1 liter into another bowl .. and from there small insects crawled. So, if they were in a cloth bag, they were crawling all over the kitchen ... and so they remained only in 1 container. This is not the first time.
Once I bought red beans, did not use it for 3 months .. when I opened it, it was teeming with insects .. The same thing, leave them in the bag, I had to dispose of everything ... Now I don't risk it ..
New for 1L - they ate the inside of the container - all in white spots
once I had to throw it out, I brought it with buckwheat from the store and spread throughout the kitchen (then I didn't have a TV yet)
so again .. everyone chooses for himself ..

VACS has already been purchased, sealed containers have been ordered (aquacontrols are sealed, am I not mistaken?) I thought about sealing ... but doubted ... susika, Larissa!
I already thought about New, but I'm not a very experienced Tupper breeder yet, so I don't really know about the properties of New. Of course, the girls have already talked about them many times, but I can't catch them - are they also sealed?
At first, aquiki appeared, so I somehow believed in them, and now I store all the free-flowing cereals and flour in them. And if the New items are also sealed, so perhaps we should move on to them? They are also transparent! (I hope I was not mistaken ...)
At first I decided so - I would put the apples in Aqua-K ... then I doubted ... suddenly they did not dry out (as Katya said)
So the conclusion is ripe - stocks - under vacuum, and consumables - on the table, in aquik or in Novinka!
Hooray! Problem solved! The choice has been made! And the undesirable beast will be under control !!!!
Thank you girls!
susika
Want to know everything, New items are not so booming compared to aquiki (you can pour water into aquiki and twist it ..)
but New products also let in neither life .. nor air. It is more convenient to use it - take it by the * tail-ledge *, the lid opens and closes much easier than aquik.
I like cookies more in aquiki .. gingerbread waffles ... Although figs are also there dried, raisins .. Honey.

Once again in the hostel, there was a mailbox under the bed, we pulled it out, there are cockroaches .. they put it out of the window .. they remembered a month, they brought it into the room .. they thawed out and crawled
Flour, if not very large volumes, can be sieved
and so, if you immediately pour it into New items or compacts, they will not go anywhere from there ... if the container is closed. Not open all the time.
Elena17
I also like to store waffles (in rectangular ones), gingerbread cookies, cookies, marshmallows (in round ones) in aquiks. In compacts - cereals and other groceries.
And now I will only store apple chips under vacuum. It's a pity that there are not so many apples this year ... I can't even compare my own with purchased dried fruits ...

This is valuable information!
As I understand it, you can put flour in the refrigerator in aquiki, because it will not be damp, and in Novinka it can only be stored in room conditions so that the worm beetles do not run away!
Then it turns out that it is better not to leave apples in aquiks for a long time, suddenly they are really a little underdried (dried in Veterka, 8 hours, the thickness of the slice was initially 3-4 mm).
And in Novinka, too, probably not necessary for a long time, they can get damp ...
Conclusion: for long-term storage - in vacuum, for food - apple chips - in aquik, and slightly damp dried fruits (plums) for "food" - in Novinka.
So we need to take the Novelty!

Crumb, Inna!
Do aquiki and plums (which are damp like prunes) not grow moldy? Or is it only direct drying-drying stored in aquiks?
susika
I steamed the compote mixture in a 1 liter thermos. a small handful. The taste is rich. If you collect the mixture yourself (apples-dried apricots-pears-plums) - it does not turn out so tasty.
But should stand at least 12 hours.
I do it in the evening. In the morning I drink instead of tea .. instead of coffee .. An hour later, another coffee.

here I will not say that it is true, for some reason condensation forms from the inside. in a refrigerator.

RepeShock, Irina, susika, Larissa!
Please clarify about aquiki!
In the refrigerator in Aqua, I store flour that I rarely use (flaxseed, corn, oatmeal). Sometimes I spend half a year a bag. It is very hot in the apartment (it is stable at 25-28 grams, and on hot days it even heats up to 35 grams, so well our panel house was built). It seemed to me that the flour would not turn rancid, it would be better to remove it in the cold. And it seems that condensation did not form ... Or I did not notice ...
Well ... bad luck comes out ...
(it turns out I'm not an experienced Tupperovod at all)
RepeShock

Tatyana, Larissa wrote about dried fruits, probably. In flour, of course, there will be no condensation.
And rightly so, store it in the refrigerator. I also store valuable flour there) But if in a wither, then it doesn't matter what it is in, I think.

In any case, everything is individual and a convenient storage method is selected from practice. To whom, as and in what it is convenient, and stored.

Thank you!
They just calmed me down!
I recently made friends with the Bread Maker and Bakery, so somehow I'm still studying everything ... I'm building relationships with different breads, with flour ... And then (as it seemed to me) I found a good option for storing rarely used varieties of flour - in Aqua
And now I will keep my apple dryers (but without a refrigerator)! I promise! Until June!
Thank you girls! It seems that I figured it out with your help!
susika
Yes, specifically, I did not put flour in the refrigerator. But there was something dry ... now I don't remember what .. I thought it was condensation due to the temperature drop. In the room +25 .. in the refrigerator + 5 + 6.
I have dried apples, I don’t know how they were dried, they treated me to .. but they are soft, flexible .. at the same time dry. They were treated in the winter, they stand in the closet, in the aquik.

Larissa! It turns out that dried plums can also be used in aquik! Great! Then everything is quite simple! Long-term storage of large volumes - vacuum, and "table" volumes - Aquiki.
And I'll take a look at the New Products! So that everything is on the shelves in the new kitchen! And no mice / beetles / worms slipped by!

susika
Prunes can be yes. Not very long, if 2-3 months lie, it becomes whitish.
And so for raisins, figs, prunes I did not find anything better than aquics. Why am I talking about these dried fruits, they seem to be dried ... soft. not tough like apples.
Somewhere I read that you need to eat 2-3 figs every morning - the body gets all the necessary trace elements for the whole day. Therefore, I always keep it at home.
I like to buy raisins in the Russian market. (Seedless, raisins?) .. Those dried fruits. what we sell is tasteless.

And what are the largest aqua, can you tell?
For some reason, I really liked Aquacontrol
In the summer, I constantly travel between the dacha and the house, and often it is completely impossible to plan! And you have to carry with you ready-made soups, meat dishes such as goulash (with gravy) in quantities for 6 people. Maybe I just don't know and there are some large sealed containers at Tupper? In the meantime, it costs 2.1 l high Aquikas. But they are too small for me

were 2 times larger in size (by area) -1.1l
2.9 liters and 4.6 liters.
Candy lives in 4.6 liters.
in 2.9-soft bagels or gingerbread, or marshmallows.
But for soups, compacts are still better - they are just as big. 4.6 is also there. The girls used flour, sugar, but it was also good for transporting liquids.
I like rectangular shapes, which can be put in the refrigerator. More compact than round (large volumes) And so it is, of course, possible to transport in maximilians.

Does the Compactus also have a sealed lid? I understood from conversations that it was not even hermetically sealed at all.
And Maximilian once thought about it ... but ... he's not square, and not hermetic
I also prefer square shapes, precisely because space is saved.
A 4.6 l aquik would be wonderful for me! Will seek!.....
