Rye bread pie

Ingredients

Rye bread 200 g
Medium beets (boiled) 1 PC.
Bulb 1 PC.
A raw egg 1 PC.

Cooking method

  • Crumble the bread, put in a bowl, and soak in a little water.
  • Finely chop the onion and fry in vegetable oil. Grate beets on a coarse grater and mix with onions.
  • Grease a frying pan with oil and sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
  • Put half the bread on the bottom of the pan. Top - beet and onion filling. Then the rest of the bread.
  • Beat the egg with a spoonful of water and pour over the pie.
  • Bake for ~ 20 minutes, until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack.
  • The cake is easily removed from the pan and keeps its shape. I had less bread this time, and cut the pie hot.
  • Instead of beets, you can take prunes or sour jam.

  • Note

Try to make such a pie - you won't regret it!

    Bon Appetit

qween, and bake in the oven? And still need to squeeze the bread, like cutlets or not?

I will definitely try, I love savory pies!

    Luysia, bake in the oven.
I pour so much water so as not to squeeze out, but if you pour more, then you just need to squeeze out the excess liquid.
I put bread on the cutlets.

    Delicious pie for you!

    I made such a pie.

It turned out to be good for my taste (I did not hope for my husband, he loves muffins, baked goods, in extreme cases, if not sweet pastries, then pies with meat filling).

But there is one problem, the bread cakes turned out to be flat, although I baked in a small mold d 20 cm

But I myself am to blame, I did not read the recipe carefully. We sell black bread in the form of a loaf, this time it has already been cut into portions. I filled these pieces with water from the heart. And then she squeezed out and, accordingly, crushed all the bread into porridge.

The recipe is simple, so I hoped for a memory. Next time I will be more attentive.

Yes Yes,Luysia , do not press the bread. I fill it with water so that the pieces are not wet inside, and then, when I prepare the filling, they become just right. Before putting it in a mold, knead it a little, until a large, non-uniform crumb.
And I bake this pie from my bread (pictured with caraway seeds), shape 27 cm.
    Good luck!

Luysia , try to bake with wheat-rye (with beer or kvass, or with dry kvass) - it will also be very tasty.

Qween, could you give this moment in more detail, that is, what is your recipe for rye bread. I use many of your recipes, everything for my taste and my family is excellent, which is why your rye is interesting. I have tried many rye recipes, but have not yet found my own bread. Please write your recipe.
