  • Baden-Baden is located in the state of Baden-Württemberg. Located along the banks of the Os River on the western slopes of the Black Forest. This is a famous resort place. Until 1931 the city was called Baden, but people often said: "Baden in Baden" (Baden region), and so the current double name Baden-Baden arose. It is no exaggeration to say that Baden-Baden is the most famous resort in Germany. It has long become popular among European and Russian tourists, besides its rich history and picturesque nature, the city is famous for its balneological complexes.
  • One of the main attractions of the city is the Lichtentalska alley. It is so nice to start the morning with a leisurely stroll among the mighty trees and luxurious flower beds. Once upon a time Turgenev, Tolstoy, Gogol and Dostoevsky walked along this alley, the resort has always been a favorite vacation spot for famous statesmen, people of art and descendants of noble dynasties. There you will see the ruins of the Old Castle "Hohenbaden", built in 1102. From the 11th to the 15th century, Hohenbaden was the seat of the Margraves of Baden-Baden.

  • I took the recipe for this cake in the magazine "Sweet Smak" 1996.
  • So, let's begin:
  • I slightly reduced the amount of cherries and cream. I had a 500 ml bag of heavy cream. Instead of candied nuts, my cake has toasted cashews.
  • Cakes:
  • Divide the finished puff pastry (I had a package of 500 g) into 3 parts, roll out and bake in a round shape separately for about 20 minutes at 200aboutFrom to golden brown.

  • Glaze:
  • Dilute two tablespoons of juice from cherries with 100 g of powdered sugar. This will be the icing.
  • Cherry interlayer:
  • Put the cherries on a sieve, then put in a bowl, sprinkle with rum and set aside.
  • Soak gelatin in water.
  • Heat the remaining juice with constant stirring with jam (you can jam).

  • Squeeze out the gelatin and dissolve in hot juice, add cherries and cool.
  • Cream:
  • Beat the cream with powdered sugar.
  • Soak gelatin, squeeze and dissolve in a small amount of water over low heat, stirring constantly.
  • Add to the cream in a thin stream, mix thoroughly and refrigerate for 20 minutes.
  • Assembly:
  • Put the cherry mass on the first cake, leaving the edges open.

  • Top with 1/3 of the cream and sprinkle with half of the nuts.
  • Add the second crust, brush with half the cream and sprinkle with the nuts.

  • Brush with cherry glaze.
  • Grease the edges of the cake with cream.
  • Decorate the cake with the remaining cream.
  • You can also garnish the cake with cherries and almond petals.
  • Put in the refrigerator (preferably overnight).

Note

It is better to serve the cake with a fork and a knife, as puff cakes are not convenient to eat with a spoon.
