Granny's Tomatoes

Ingredients

Tomatoes 3 liter jar
Salt 1 tablespoon
Sugar 3 tablespoons
vinegar 50 grams
black peppercorns, chasnok, bay leaf, greens

Cooking method

  • At the bottom of the sterilized jars we put horseradish leaves, dill inflorescences, horseradish root, cherry and currant leaves. Wash the tomatoes, put them in jars.
  • Pour boiling water over the jars with tomatoes, cover with boiled lids. After 15-20 minutes, drain the cans and refill with water. After another 15-20 minutes, drain the water and put 1 tablespoon of salt, 3 tablespoons of sugar, 50 grams of vinegar 9%, 2-3 cloves of chasnok and 3-4 peppercorns, 1-2 bay leaves in the jar. Fill with boiling water and roll up. Turn the jars over, wrap them up and let them cool.

Time for preparing:

2 hours

Note

For the last 2 years I have been rolling tomatoes in 1.5 liter jars. I divide everything by sex. Three-liters are simply not enough. And I use jars with screw caps.

I make tomatoes the same way, very tasty and the whole brine is drunk. Only me I do not lie horseradish leaves, horseradish root, cherry and currant leaves. These are cucumber seasonings to be crispy. And in tomatoes, you must also have bitter paprika and sweet Bulgarian lodge.

I'll try to cook.

Horseradish leaves and other greens are probably a tribute to tradition or even a habit. My grandmother and mom always put horseradish leaves. And how do I do it. In the city they are not always at hand, and you do not have time to get to the market. It happens that I just do with bay leaves and dry herbs at home. Doesn't affect the taste. It seems to me that greens only give a smell. But I'm pepper in tomatoes, no, no! This is not for everybody. Once I tried canning with pepper. Well at least an experiment. And I made only 2 cans. So my tomatoes with bitter stryuchkov were generally rejected. Then she turned a whole jar of sour tomatoes into the toilet, and the second had to be digested for ketchup. : mda: And with the sweet things were better, just tomatoes that were next to the pepper, the children and my husband slipped me, they had a clear taste of pepper. So pepper in tomatoes is not suitable for us. We read it by ourselves. Here.

My grandmother "mutilated" them and I "mutilated". As they say God protects the saved. But very rarely tomatoes, as my youngest says "shoot"! Although he liked it. He was at a classmate's birthday party last summer. I came home so happy, says that my friend's mother canned "shooting tomatoes." They had as many as 3 cans bummed.
But my friend's mom was just not up to joy. She told later that, on the advice of an employee, she immediately poured boiling water over the tomatoes and rolled them up. They all exploded as one. So it's better to play it safe! And if the experience is preservation without marinating with boiling water, I'm only "for"! These bays and plums are overflowing! What is there to do? In winter, you want something tasty ...

If you pour it once, then you need to lay down 3 aspirin tablets. I do that sometimes.
And at the expense of horseradish, it lays down in cucumbers in order for them to crunch. And it's still delicious to put celery in tomatoes.

I am generally against any aspirin. Therefore, it is better to stand at the open-hearth. Well, in other matters, everyone takes for himself.

And I am also against it, but a couple of times there was little time and a lot of tomatoes.
