Vanillekipfer Christmas Vanilla Bagels

Ingredients

margarine 250 g
premium wheat flour 350 g
sugar 100 g
vanilla sugar 15 g
yolks 2 pcs
almond flour (or whole almonds) 150 g
zest of 1 lemon and 1 orange
a pinch of salt
vanilla pod 1 PC

Cooking method

  • Beat butter at room temperature with a mixer. Add sugar, vanilla sugar, Stir.
  • Add yolks. Mix.
  • Add ground almonds (it is best to grind with sugar) or almond flour, zest, salt, vanilla seeds.
  • Mix.
  • Dust the table with flour, lay out the dough, knead a little. Transfer the dough to a bag and refrigerate for 1 hour (or in the freezer for 20 minutes)
  • Remove the dough from the refrigerator. Mix a little. Form the horseshoes as shown in the video. I just rolled the dough into a layer and cut out the horseshoe cookie cutter.
  • Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
