Potato casserole

Ingredients

potatoes 1 kg
minced meat 500 g
carrot 1 PC
onion 1 PC
egg 1 PC
Cheese 70 g
Fill
butter 20 g
sour cream 3 tbsp. spoons
yolk 1
Salt pepper taste

Cooking method

  • Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender, drain the liquid completely and make mashed potatoes, add 1 egg and 1 protein, mix, cool.
  • Steam the minced meat, stew the onion and carrots in a pan until ready to salt and pepper. In a baking dish, greased with butter and sprinkled with breadcrumbs. Put 1/2 mashed potatoes, then a layer of minced meat, a layer of onions with carrots, then mince again and a layer of mashed potatoes on top.
  • Mix the yolk, butter and sour cream until smooth, add a little salt and grease the top of the casserole with this mixture, sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake in the oven 180 degrees - 30-40 minutes until golden brown.
  • Bon Appetit.

The husband loves potato casseroles. I will definitely make yours one of these days. Thank you, Karin! I just wanted to ask, why did you separate one yolk? What does it give in the filling? Or is it not important?

The yolk is mainly needed for pouring, which is why I added the remaining protein to the filling so as not to throw it away. The protein in the filling turns out like an omelet and without it, a very tasty crust!
