And I bought myself a silicone mat. Actually, I already had three rugs, all different, but just rugs. And today I bought a silicone carpet -60 * 40 cm, at the base that sells catering equipment. The new rug is twice as large as my old ones and 2.5 times thicker. Moreover, one side is smooth and shiny, like a zekalo, the other is matte. I don't know if I paid dearly - it costs 792 rubles.

Here, for comparison, I put my old one on a new rug. And then before, every time I complained that there was not enough size for rolling out strudel and fenders. Now then I'll come off in full!
On the shop check it was listed as a non-stick mat.

So I had two of these (I cut one into 2), I still don't know which side to put on the baking sheet. Probably, this is not critical, because I don’t know, I put it this way and that.

I regularly bake on silicone mats, shiny side up.
I only buy them for 90-100re.

Yes, even the tongue does not dare to call it a rug, only - a carpet! Great purchase, congratulations! Is it plump, like it, does it fold normally for storage, or will it be stored flat between baked goods?
Creamy
The rug rolls up well into a resilient roller and will be stored with rolling pins and other rugs on my new-old hanging shelf.

I also need a big one .. (I naively bought a small one for rolling) ... and the main question .. how do you manage to roll out the dough so smoothly and beautifully? .. I always have such an irregular shape .. with influxes .. with different thickness ... horror .. that's why I don't like this process ..

Julifera, and in your photo there are plastic molds .. is it like a serving ring? or is it some kind of confectionery equipment ..?

They have a slight difference in diameter in the middle - a transition from the curly side to the flat side.
I bought from natamylave for cutting out the dough, what it was originally for - confectionery or rings, I don't know

Did you not pay attention to the spindle-shaped rolling pin on the rolled dough? But I didn't do it by accident. It is much easier and faster to roll out the dough thinly with such a rolling pin.
julifera
It is difficult to keep the uniformity of rolling with a spindle - it rolls only in the center.
For large canvases, I prefer the marble rolling pin.
Creamy
On large areas, I roll out not with the middle, but with one of the ends of the rolling pin. And in the middle you can make holes and bald spots.

I want a good rug, but I need this one, rather big. At least 50-60 centimeters, no less, so that it is convenient. In the Epicenter, the price is ... there, in my opinion, it is generally cheaper than 200 UAH - no. And very cheap - on the market - I have doubts about the price, I don't want to buy an underground scooter, there will still be some kind of chemical infection. In general, in the search. In Moscow auchans, silicone products appeared in the assortment: spoons, shovels, slotted spoon, ladles with a solid insert inside, at a good price.

Silicone items (molds, rugs, tassels, gloves, etc.)

In orange, the insert is hard, and in yellow, harder silicone is apparently inserted, but also quite hard.
Hurrah! Take me to the ranks of the silicone orange. : yahoo: I also bought a ladle and a spatula. True, there was still a bright green slotted spoon, but it turned out to be the last and without a label. They didn't sell it to me. : pardon: But nothing will be okay next time. And the colors are as cheerful as I get them immediately the mood rises.

With the help of vertical corners, it can both increase and decrease. It seems to me that this device is more convenient than our insert-steamer.

This round "eared" rug, pre-oiled with vegetable oil, is very convenient to fold the terribly sticky ciabatta dough without getting your hands dirty. I slip the palms of my hands under the rug, slightly lift the opposite edges of the rug from the "ears" side, and fold the dough in three. Then I repeat the procedure, lifting the mat already from those parts that are in the middle between the ears, and again fold the ciabatta dough in three times. This is how it looks like a ball made of sticky ciabatta dough. And it is also very convenient to transfer the layers of dough to a mold or baking sheet, you do not need, as before, to wind the layer of dough on a rolling pin, and then spin it back onto a baking pin from the rolling pin. And yet, I rarely dust with flour on such a rug, nothing sticks to it. That's why I love him.

Girls, hello everyone! I have an urgent question, maybe a little off topic.
Yesterday, in honor of February 14, I bought myself for the first time a silicone mold for 6 Kaiserhoff muffins (of all the Chinese in the store, it was the most expensive. Only teskoma was better, but the size was too small, so I did not take it). The form itself is in packaging with odorless markings, the store is decent. I washed the mold with liquid dishwashing detergent, filled it with water and boiled it for a couple of minutes in the microwave. Then I baked yogurt muffins in the oven according to the recipe, which I tried in the summer in paper tins.
The recipe contains 250 g of yogurt, 170 g of sugar, 300 g of flour, 100 g of margarine, vanilla sugar, a pinch of salt and most importantly 1 tsp. soda is quenched with vinegar.
In the summer I baked this recipe three times. There were only paper molds without iron, the cupcakes turned out to be a little shapeless, But there was no vinegar smell.
Now I take it out of the oven in a silicone mold - there is no chemical smell. I take out the cupcake and the hot cupcake from the bottom smells strongly of vinegar. The hot, but already empty form itself does not smell. The cupcake is getting cold and it doesn't smell like anything either.
Please reassure me and tell me that this should be so, because the dough is tight to the mold and the vinegar does not evaporate all at once, and that the recipe requires a little less vinegar. Yes? And then for many years I was afraid to try silicone, so as not to poison myself. And not only am I suspicious in life, but I am still 8 months pregnant and my daughter is only 3.5 years old, and we ate one cupcake for two and it seems to me that my mouth is sour, and I go smell these cupcakes. And the child asks for a cupcake.
Or throw these cupcakes away?
Ksyushk @ -Plushk @
Maybe vinegar, when extinguished, gave such an effect. Or maybe not. I would have baked something else, but without vinegar. And then I would have already decided what to do with the form.

Olyalya82, try as advised by Ksyushk @ -Plushk @. I have many different forms, including Kaiserhoff. No problem. It's just that you still have a very keen sense of smell. and that could play, too. Do not worry. I drink a lot of coffee and love (only natural). When I was in position, I turned it away so that I couldn't smell. I could not hear. In 15 min. after the birth of the dotsi. (one of the doctors brewed coffee for himself), I open my eyes with the thought: God. what a scent! These are the metamorphoses in an interesting position.
Olyalya82
That is, you can eat? Now the cupcakes have stood, they have cooled down, they do not smell like vinegar, but there was sourness in them and when baking in the paper.
What is generally supposed to do with new silicone molds? Well, there is a type of Teflon and ceramic pans recommended to ignite without food. How about silicone? And then I used to only use the shoulder blades.

I have such forms and even cheaper ones. When I brought them home, I just washed them under hot water and let them cool naturally. After use, I usually rinse under water and everything, no more action with them. I have been using them for 3 years now and while the mustache is normal, the flight is normal.
By the way, why was it necessary to quench the soda with vinegar, because you have yogurt there, it seems like it should react like kefir with soda.

And I had such coffee when the doctors forbade me to drink it. The breakage was terrible. Well, count 3-4 cups every morning and no less during the day. So when I came somewhere for work and drank coffee there, I just like a maniac poked my nose and sniffed. Well, definitely a drug addict. So I overcame the withdrawal, now I am indifferent to coffee.
Olyalya82
Well, I also had a withdrawal for coffee, although in life I drink it soluble at most 5 cups a week. And when they said they were toned, they wanted coffee. But I found a way out - decaf coffee.

Eat muffins calmly, even if there is too much vinegar, then there will be no harm, unless you have increased acidity, then heartburn may be. For the future, it is not necessary to extinguish soda with vinegar at all, yogurt acid is enough. Admin once specially conducted an experiment, found out that it is better without vinegar.
Baking in paper, metal and silicone molds behaves slightly differently. It is easy to adapt to this by experience.
New forms are washed with dish detergent and that's it. No calcinations, these are not nipples for babies, you bake in them, that is, they are heat treated.
If you heat teflon and ceramic pans without food, it is better to throw them away immediately. They absolutely must not be heated without food. The coating is destroyed by overheating. In general, the utensils in which they are fried / boiled do not need such extreme processing. Cast iron is calcined for completely different purposes.

It can be used like any other silicone utensil. All warning signs are drawn on it.
