Qween Well, I kind of fish only red and only grilled. In a cartoon I cooked vegetables and chicken for salad. They don't like cauliflower very much, well, if I grill it in batter, then yes. But I don't even know steamed vegetables .... I haven't eaten tasty ones yet. / Damn, well, what to do then. I thought if for salads, dumplings, and white-sides, then you can take it. Probably you need to sleep with the Wishlist until morning, maybe he will switch over, or maybe he will want even more. But did you try to boil cabbage for stuffed cabbage?
Galina, yesterday I met guests at home. Everyone was amazed at the taste of the chicken breast salad. they said it was very tasty, I noticed it myself. at least I cook it often. I don't have a multi, so in a double boiler I simultaneously cooked breasts and potatoes with carrots. After all, we usually cook vegetables in water in a uniform. and here they are purified. Everything is whole, not watery, the vegetables cooled down and cut with Nyser. +

I also thought to take, then not to take a double boiler. As a result, I bought it.

By the way, you can't cook a lot of dumplings in Brown. She is not a mantle.

But the potatoes in their uniforms are delicious. The taste is rich, not boiled. Everything can be cooked with eggs on Olivier. Eggs will not burst.

You can also cook desserts in cups, steam cakes, various muffins in the form for rice, etc.

Qween But how much potatoes in their uniforms are boiled? to me it's basically on Sunday morning for dumplings.
Qween
I cook medium-sized potatoes for 40 minutes. Sorts "Nevka", "Belorussa" and "Slovyanochka". That is, the varieties are boiled. And I like the finished potatoes to crumble as much.

Well, you boil cauliflower before frying in batter? So steaming will be tastier.

For stuffed cabbage, I either bake cabbage in the microwave or freeze it.

I haven't boiled frozen vegetables yet. I don't see anything special in cooking. I want to say that Brown still differs from other steamers in that it cooks faster and better with less power. I had 400 watts more powerful, but they cook the same in time.

She poured some water into a saucepan, cut out a stalk of cabbage and put it in the microwave. She turned on the power 50% and 15 minutes. Then she took out, carefully removed the upper leaves, if they were removed inside badly, then I repeated this procedure.
francevna
I cooked pasta (horns) in a double boiler. I poured 200g of horns into a container for rice, added some salt, poured it with a liter of boiling water, added 1 tsp. butter, mixed and turned on the timer for 25 minutes. She cooked chum salmon in the bottom pan. In the end, she could not stand it, opened and mixed the horns, checked for readiness. I liked it very much, now I will cook small portions only in a double boiler.

I put a whole fork of cabbage on a plate (stump side down), and cook at maximum power for 10 minutes. Then I remove the upper, already soft leaves, pruning at the stump with a knife. Then I cook for another 5 minutes, and take apart the rest of the leaves. If you need to additionally soften the leaves, then I cook all the leaves together for another 5 minutes.

Hello everyone)

Became the owner of Tefal VS 400331

before that there was Kenwood FS-560. And even earlier, too, tefal, vitamin plus some, I don't remember the model. This very first steamer was wonderful, I realized this when I bought Kenwood))) Of the minuses, there are only two tiers, and it is very difficult to remove plastic baskets, there was a crazy system of holes that could not be washed with just a brush.

When we moved away from my mother, they didn’t take the tefal, I smoked the forums and bought kenwood. Bliiin, everything that flowed through the baskets fell into a super small tray, which then had to be poured out very carefully, moreover, in a wonderful way, part of the juice from the products fell into clean water. Not only did it all float to all the tiers, fell into the shade, but also after cooking it was necessary to carry this fool, pour out the water and wash. But roomy, yes. Huge. As a result, from our super hard water, the ten boiled so that it became even impossible to get rid of scale. The husband cleaned, cleaned, sort of cleaned. But all the same, the steamer began to work poorly, the cutlets steamed for forty minutes, against 20 before that.

In short, I picked it up - let's go and buy Tefal again. Firstly, the heating element is not at all the same as in Kenwood - and such a muzzle sticks out. In principle, here a couple of pages back the difference in shadows in the pictures was described)) Well, in general, an interesting double boiler. Although after kenwood - the plates seem tiny. On the other hand, you do not need to lay out the products far from each other - in the second and third tiers of tyrochka only along the contour, you can put chicken in the marinade on the plates themselves, pour fish, pour rice, omelette. Only the first tier has holes, there are also indentations for eggs. The juice drain tray is large enough. Steam holes are made on the side of the special. elevation so that the juice does not fall into clean water. Soars powerfully, cooks very quickly. I cooked on the first tier a package of frozen vegetables (I filled the basket completely by two or three cm), on the second and third, two salmon steaks with lemon and rosemary. Prepared in 15 minutes. The steaks were completely ready. But since they were prepared in "plates", they lay in a small amount of juice. It turned out delicious.

Made an omelet today. For a long time I read about a steam omelet at Poskrebyshev. Eggs + milk + garlic + onion + salt, then the finished omelet can be sprinkled with red pepper. Moreover, in an old double boiler in a plate, when the omelet began to solidify, I stirred it to make it more magnificent.
Here - I went to the double boiler after 10 minutes - and the omelette tentacles pulled to the lid, was about to run away))) They laughed for a long time.

I haven't tried the cups from the kit yet.

In general, I also have a slow cooker, but it's still difficult to shove 18 cutlets into a cartoon. And in a double boiler you can) And bake every time, too, is boring for me, our kitchen is insanely small, the pans in the oven stand along with the baking sheets. For baking, you need to unload the oven, warm it up. In a double boiler, it is much easier and faster. In general, although Kenwood after the norms ceased. forgotten to work for a long time, I had to try to reanimate, and after a failure - to buy a new double boiler.

So if someone has one - share your impressions, please, what you liked, what disadvantages were found. What and how you cook the most.

Congratulations on your purchase! One does not interfere with the other, over time the question of a multicooker will arise, I guarantee

Try to cut vegetables immediately into pieces of the desired size, rinse quickly from starch, and lay out on trays, you can put beets, carrots, potatoes nearby - everything will cook quickly and will not color each other. But immediately get a cut of vegetables. You can put eggs next to it for salad
Admin, so I became the owner of a multicooker. I wish I had bought it earlier. One does not interfere. So you were right.

I have already expressed my opinion that it is for a steamer that you should not take a complex, tricky device with a display and many modes.
The steamer is one of the few devices where additional functions, except for just pumping steam, are useless. Just an unnecessary rise in price, complication of the model and a decrease in the reliability of work.
What's the difference between what to cook - fish, meat or vegetables? Yes, no! So why do you need modes?
Why a display that can fly easily?
Why is there a recess for topping up water? I have enough water for one hour, but do you need 5 or 6?
Transparent containers for monitoring readiness ... What did you want to see there through the foggy glass? And how can you determine the readiness of a product in a double boiler without touching it? This is not an oven.
And there are a lot of such examples.
I have had a Brown double boiler for 10 years. Simple and reliable. And the manufacturer does not want to complicate or alter it all this time. Probably it's just lazy and stupid Germans who can't think of anything else.

Today I bought a VITEK steamer otakuyu 🔗
Got it for a ridiculous 100 hryvnia, used 2 years, in excellent condition.
I read the last 5 pages of this topic, I already understood my ambush with washing holes and getting juice from products into the water. The following questions appeared - how to avoid getting juice into the water tank (there is a drip tray, but there is a hole-sieve in the middle), how is it easier to wash the steam basket in the absence of PMM?
The most interesting thing is that if I had 2 multi-cookers, my husband was the initiator of buying a double boiler !!!

I don't know, I have a Braun FS20 - there is a drain pan for each level.

I always make fish with a steamer, so as not to entangle the gum of pressure cookers and mults.

Brown is. I can't get enough of it: it heats up instantly, all the juices are collected in the pan, it is easy to wash ... In general, I have been using it for more than a year and I have not found any minuses.
igorechek
It is no coincidence that this model has been produced without changes for 10 years, no less ...
Only the only thing is that the lid itself does not like DIRECT sunlight. Therefore, do not put, for example, on a windowsill on the sunny side.

Svetta, I want to invite you to take a closer look at the steamer SCARLETT SC-343if you choose an inexpensive model. This steamer is an exact copy of the Brown steamer. And Brown does not go into any comparison with other models, in my opinion. Only it has separate pallets under each basket, which is so great!
It is in this 343 model of Scarlet that everything is arranged in exactly the same way, only one little thing is missing - baskets for cooking colored vegetables and what is pleasantly it costs 2 times cheaper than Brown.
I wanted to buy it, but there was an opportunity to buy Brown sometime at a good discount.
I advise you as yourself!

Cooked vegetables, porridge, cutlets made several times - everything seems to be fine, but the time is not very good. fast. I ended up going out and buying a Brown home for myself. And then I realized the difference - it's heaven and earth.

Svetochka, in the store you may not find it. Last year I was in Foxmart for a long time in winter, and now I somehow don't meet. I felt it. examined - a copy of Brown.
It is more expensive in stores, it is better to search through online stores. I brought this photo from the Rosette. yua, but it is not there now in stock, the price is 313g, and for comparison I looked at Brown - 600g.
I wouldn't take Brown on a grand scale right now - it's expensive.
All other steamers are exactly the same ... only different in color.
In general, good luck, Sveta, who seeks will always find!

Naturally different. Brown is made in Germany and Scarlet is made in China. But Scarlet's bowls are not transparent, but rather translucent-matte and the plastic is, how to say, not fragile in appearance, as in transparent PV bowls.
Buy this Scarlet - you still have to chase.

Well, I came back to you again. so I didn't buy a double boiler, but again I WANT.
Well, I still have questions:
Tell the owner of Brown to shove Mona with a white-sided ham? who cooks ham like that or only in water?
Who has a pressure cooker with the function of a pressure cooker and a double boiler, do the vegetables cooked in these steam units differ in taste?
Elenka
I will not say about the ham, I cook only meat rolls, not steamed in it. If you tell me the diameter and length of the ham, I will try on a similar jar.
But steamed vegetables for salad are delicious. I cook only in a double boiler for vinaigrette, Olivier, etc.
Galinka-Malinka
Elenka thanks, I will write to measure. I understand that vegetables are delicious. Well, does it taste different from the taste of cooked in a multicooker pressure cooker?

I have Brown. The ham maker will not fit into it in height and oval.
Brown is more spacious than the hanging steamer - a bowl in a pressure cooker. And to be honest, I like food from Brown more than in closed pressure cookers, especially under pressure - not the right taste
