Tropical Storm Cake

Ingredients

Biscuit:
Eggs 5 pieces.
Sugar 1 tbsp.
Salt 0.5 tsp
Flour 1 tbsp. + 1 tbsp. l.
Form with a diameter of 22 cm
Cream:
Cream 33% 0.5 l
Sugar 3-4 tbsp. l.
Bananas 3 pcs.
Orange 1-2 pcs.
Lemon 1 PC.
Cognac (Liqueur) 1 tbsp. l.
------------------------------------------------
1 glass = 230 ml

Cooking method

  • Biscuit:
  • I really like the hot sponge cake. I bake it in a non-stick saucepan on the stovetop.
  • We take two pans, one larger and the other smaller.
  • Pour water into a large one and bring to a boil over the fire.
  • Drive eggs into a small one, add salt, sugar, beat slightly. We put in a large saucepan where water is boiling. We begin to whisk. The mass heats up and begins to increase in volume. The eggs should warm up to a temperature of 50 - 60 degrees. I put my finger down, if it's hot, that's enough. At the end of whipping, the mass becomes thick and steep waves come from the whisk. Remove from heat, place in a bowl of cold water and continue to beat until the mass has cooled.

  • After that, add the sifted flour and carefully knead the dough.
  • Cut a circle out of baking paper, put it on the bottom of the saucepan. Lubricate the inner walls with oil. Put out the dough, close the lid.
  • Tropical Storm Cake
  • (I have it from a frying pan with a steam outlet so that condensation does not accumulate). We put it on the stove if the gas fire is the smallest.

  • On electric, the position of the switch knob is 2 or 3. On electric it bakes faster. On gas for about 50 min.
  • Tropical Storm Cake
  • I determine the readiness by smell, also the bubbles on the surface of the dough should burst, you can clearly see through the transparent lid.
  • Tropical Storm Cake
  • Let the biscuit rest for 4 hours.

  • Cream:
  • Remove the zest from the lemon and orange with a grater and squeeze the juice. Add cognac there.
  • Cut the bananas into slices and pour over the juice with cognac and zest.
  • Tropical Storm Cake
  • Let it brew for 15-20 minutes.
  • Whip the cream with sugar, divide in two. Set aside one half to cover the cake. Mix the other half with the bananas, strained from the marinade.
  • Cut the biscuit into three cakes. Soak the cakes with marinade and coat with banana cream.
  • Tropical Storm Cake
  • Cream the cake and decorate as desired.
  • Tropical Storm Cake

Note

I squeezed out the juice from 2 large oranges and half a lemon. The lemon was very sour.
Therefore, the amount of juice must be adjusted to taste. The cake turned out to be pleasantly sour.

I have heard about such an interesting way of making biscuit on the stove before, but I have never seen the result. And I liked the result. We must take this recipe into service. Thank you.

Olesya26, I think you will not be disappointed. Very convenient, put a saucepan on the stove. And mind your own business. eh
Tatyana
Anna, thanks for the recipe! Very interested!
Gathered to cook.
There is a question.
Do you whisk the eggs with a whisk or mixer?

RusAnna
Tatyana, I just saw your message. Beat eggs only with a mixer. With a whisk, this will not work. At high speeds. Ask questions. Good luck.
