I don't eat porridge either. But the whole family still eats! I don't believe myself, but I drive it more often than multicooker.
It is great that even the semolina does not need to be watched and stirred.
And boil the custard cream and the like!

It is good to put the porridge almost without waking up and put yourself in order while the porridge is boiling.
I love the entu pan!

Yeah, and what no need to interfere
korf
No, well, nifigase, I've been driving a milk cooker for how many years for its intended purpose, but here you can still do a lot)) Tomorrow I'll cook condensed milk

korf, and show-tell please! Otherwise all hands will not reach her from me. Purchased "we poison".
zvezda
and I'm wondering !!!
korf
The process of boiling condensed milk is underway, there is still half an hour left) Cool slurry in appearance, my daughter licks a spoon and is happy))
korf
Well - the slurry is really cool, sweet and moderately thick, dark beige. BUT! has nothing to do with the taste of condensed milk! It is quite suitable for greasing cakes, pancakes, etc.

A negative result is also a result and experience for yourself and others.

Thanks for the experiment
Roxolana
I found out thanks to the forum that there is such a thing as a milk cooker.
At first I bypassed this topic, I thought that there was some kind of whim ... I read it, it turns out to be an interesting thing, so I bought this thing for myself)))
Today I made baked milk, it turned out delicious, cooked for 2 hours, it could have been longer, but the water has completely boiled away. In my 2L pot, it turns out that you can cook for a maximum of 2 hours.
Now I thought about how to add water there during cooking ..... the only thought came to me that it could be a big syringe ..... I'll have to try.
Elenka
It is with a syringe Roxolana, I already suggested in this thread. But it was not relevant for anyone yet. And I have a need for this more than once.

Apparently, no one cooks for so long ...
And today I go into the kitchen and hear some strange smell, I looked, and my saucepan is already without steam, it’s good that I went in at least in time ... I thought that there would be enough water for three hours.
I will now use the syringe
tat-63
So I bought such a saucepan, tomorrow I will test it! Thanks to the forum, only here I found out about such a saucepan, I cook porridge often, but constantly runs away.

Zhdemsssss, your creations

And now in a milk cooker, millet porridge is cooked in melted (in a slow cooker) milk. Very tasty even in appearance.
There was a glass of millet somewhere, and half a liter of milk.
Allegra
I also love my saucepan, but out of the 2 liters of total volume declared by the manufacturer, only 1.5 turned out to be workers
So future milk makers keep this in mind when buying a new saucepan.
Rumella
Girls, if the milk does not boil in this saucepan, but only reaches a temperature of 96 degrees, is it enough heat treatment to cook porridge for a child? Otherwise I don't quite understand it
Admin

The temperature is high enough to kill various byaki, milk is almost boiling
Fefyola
Good day! I was looking for a milk cooker - Google brought to this site. Girls, who are from Ukraine, tell me where you can buy a milk cooker from us ?? I still had a Soviet department, and I ruined it foolishly, and now it’s like no hands without it. The thing is simply irreplaceable. I remember her every day, I really miss it. I've been looking for a year. We don't have it in stores, I'm from Krivoy Rog. Search on no online stores does not give out any. Maybe someone has the opportunity to buy from themselves, I would make an advance payment to you, and you would send it to me. I'm already just desperate. Help, pliz. From SW. Katerina
Rumella
What city are you from?
I also did not hope to find this miracle of technology in our small town, but I went into a dishware store and found a Bergner firm there.
Fefyola
Thanks for the answer, I wrote that I am from Kryvyi Rih, but unfortunately my search has not given any results yet ...

Girls, help out! I really want to cook crumbly rice without using the stove. Especially for this I bought a Comfort rice cooker. Now she makes yogurt and soups and fries everything. Only the rice doesn't want to cook, the name doesn't live up to it. I cook from long-grain, unboiled rice. If I make rice / water 1/2, it turns out a sticky lump and burns, if 1.5 / 2 - it burns. And I always add oil. No, in fact, she cooks delicious rice if I dance around her and stir constantly. But is it supposed to work like that? In general, I gave up on this matter and decided to buy a milk cooker, but so far I did not have time to buy it, but I want rice. I made a water bath from two pots, cooked gorgeous buckwheat, hurray! But with the rice again a puncture, rice / water 1.5 / 2, everything stuck together, but inside it crunches. Maybe a milk cooker is not suitable for crumbly rice?
Rina
Allsee, come to us in Rice cookers. How to cook. They will try to help negotiate with your rice cooker.

By the way, I myself found out where it seems like how you can buy a Bergner milk cooker, now I think whether I need it or not

Have you tried to change the proportions of water-rice? I always take 1 to 3 in the microwave and in the multicooker. A milk cooker cannot cook without a stove. so it won't work without a stove at all. If the rice crunches inside, the liquid is not enough. For salads, pie fillings, etc., I always cook rice in the microwave. Well, for a side dish, if quickly. But in a milk cooker I only cook milk porridge, rarely, really. You can probably cook hominy. Surely it won't burn. Though you will have to interfere. For uniformity. And I cook the custard cream in it, it does not burn. And my son cooks hot chocolate in it, and they bought it for him initially, because I cook all the cereals in Panasonic, but the mountains. chocolate requires stirring and participation.
Admin

I cook loose rice without problems in a ceramic saucepan (or a saucepan with a thick bottom) on the stove and very quickly.
I fall asleep long rice, pour water on a finger above the cereal, salt, a slice of butter (30-40 grams per cup of rice), bring to a boil, cook over high heat for several minutes 1-2, and then reduce the heat to a minimum, under the lid and until ready.
Everything takes 15-20 minutes.
If the rice is damp on the bite, add another 1-2 tbsp. l of water and under the lid until cooked.
Fast and does not burn (you need to watch out!)
Aunt Besya
Admin, Allsee wants to cook rice WITHOUT STOVE !!!

Can't I tell you how this can be done on the stove

Yes, you can, of course, just a pity ... after a while I will remove the post from the topic, as not related to this topic, and at the same time we have a whole section of side dishes, including HOW TO BOOK RICE, there would be a place for this answer!

Even when I took 1 to 2, the rice was boiled, now I'm afraid to pour more water.

"If the rice crunches inside, the liquid is not enough"

And if not enough, then why is it porridge-malasha?

Admin, in an ordinary saucepan I can do everything with a bang, but my 1.5 year old son and very active does not let me hang around at the stove, so I decided to look for alternative options. I fell asleep and left, came and voila!

Thank you all for your participation, I'm just very interested, in a milk cooker can you get BREAD rice?

And boil the custard cream and the like!
It didn't work out for me
Kissel turns out to be more liquid than with conventional cooking.
And I also naively wanted to cook the syrup as it was a liquid mass - and it remained.
matroskin_kot
In a milk cooker, it is good to cook everything that is intended for a water bath. And my jelly liquefied if kept hot on the stove for a long time. I try to pour it straight into cups now. Maybe your jelly "overexposed" in the milk cooker?
* kisena
matroskin_kot, on the stove I have jelly without any problems.
And in a milk cooker he did not reach such an extent, that is, I could not overexpose - since I did not leave the milk cooker.
matroskin_kot
We must try to cook jelly in a milk cooker. Are they all "wrong"? Porridge turns out, custard cream, again ... Tomorrow, of course, I won't cook, but later I'll cook. The most curious. What's the catch?
* kisena
matroskin_kot, they are who?
I will wait for your experience, I wonder
matroskin_kot
They are the wrong milk cookers, they give the wrong milk. Now I have grief on another topic - the wrong ice cream or ice cream maker. Liquid ice cream, zar-r-fold. And the New Year in 2 hours !!!
* kisena
I hope it worked out after all

Buka,
a 2-liter milk cooker can be bought in the Bergner crockery shops, they are usually close to the metro, I saw on Minskaya and Petrovka. As well as a 2 liter milk cooker. for UAH 125 I saw it either in Auchan on Petrovka, or in Karavan. In general, they are there and buying them is not a problem!

The day before yesterday I bought a two-liter milk cooker in Auchan on Petrovka. There were three of them: one was incomplete, the other was burnt out somewhere, the third turned out to be what was needed and migrated to my house. While I'm driving it to pasteurize milk for a yogurt maker.
DJ
Vitus and what kind of company does your milk cooker have? And what is included in its package? How much did you buy?
Vitus
A certain Peterhof

Milk cooker - cook in a water bath

It consists of a container itself, a lid, a removable whistle and a plastic watering can for filling the "shirt" with water.

The first operating experience has brought positive emotions so far. Porridge is tasty and milk for sour milk is pasteurized perfectly. The cost is about 130 UAH.
tat-63
I have exactly the same, really like it!
Elenka
I have the same, but Bergner. I bought it for 90 hryvnia. It's too small, I'll tell you, I don't boil milk.
I drive it 2 times a day at least. Porridge for children in the morning and sometimes in the evenings. I even use MV less often.
Rina
Topshop-TV is now replenishing the assortment. There is a milk cooker "with a whistle" 2 l - 199 UAH.

If you are satisfied with morning porridge for 2-3 servings, then in a milk cooker this is the very thing! Fast, much faster than in a multicooker, and less splatter when cooking. The principle of cooking is a calm swelling of the cereal!

Porridge is obtained beyond praise
I have been preparing such porridge for a long time only in a milk cooker, and not in a multicooker
