My wife and I decided to buy a bread maker. We shoveled a lot of material on the Internet and, in particular, here on the forum and seemed to have made our choice - Moulinex 2000 (30) seemed to suit us in all respects. We came to the store (mvideo), immediately liked the appearance, the parameters corresponded to the declared ones. We decided to look at the stove inside and here - O HORROR !!! - strong smell, even stench, of plastics !!! Immediately discouraged all desire to buy this stove. Other Muli sniffed - the smell is the same. other brands began to explore. Skis don't smell like Panas too. Novex just blew the roof off! (Suitable for toxic addicts, but not for bakers). So we thought:

But whether the smell from the HP case is reflected in some way on the quality of the bread, that is, on its smell and aroma, and whether the stench from the HP in the baking process does not increase - it still heats up.

Is it just because it is Made in China? We tried to find a native French Mulya assembly, but in Russia there are none

Does anyone have any more observations on this?

My LG did not smell at all, but somewhere on the forum, I read someone complained about LG.

I do not know how the "smelling" stove will behave in the future, but in my opinion, if there is a smell, then it will not go anywhere

(once bought not the cheapest trays for food did not stop "smelling" and after a year spent on the loggia and were thrown out in error)

so we also thought that the smell would not go anywhere. it is not clear only why such a stench in general. from Mulek in general or from Mvideo

The poisonous smell will indeed accompany the baking process for the first time. Then it will disappear, it will be replaced by the incomparable aroma of freshly baked bread.
Juliya
The smell will definitely disappear! My HP also had a slightly unpleasant smell of plastic at first. Not now. So buy, don't be afraid!
Aglo
Well, do you need this poisonous smell? Fortunately, there is a selection of odorless stoves, the same LG for example. And the price is comparable.
Bread maker Panasonic SD 254 for only 1300 r. more expensive than MOULINEX OW 2000 (the prices of the All-online store are given for comparison) and the quality is better.

Oops! I would NOT buy it for ANYTHING.
Who is unaware of the toxicity of the chemical. compounds that make up the plastic - just type in any search engine the toxicity of plastic

and they also wanted to know if anyone else smelled Moulinex?
Irina_g
We bought Mula 3000 in the month of October. No unpleasant odors during purchase or further use. And no complaints about the stove at all

And then! Take a look here:

Moulinex 5002, purchased on January 2, 2009, in Auchan. There was no smell immediately, including after the first baking. I immediately rubbed the inscriptions - they did not erase. After three weeks of intensive use (1-2 times a day), where it seems that some perspiration appears during baking on the top panel, the letters from rubbing began to peel off. But on the whole I am satisfied. I like that big mixing bowl. Although to replace + two more small ones would not hurt.

So all bread machines are made of plastic. And smell is not a criterion for the presence or absence of toxicity.

I didn't smell it in my own, only at the first baking at the very beginning I raised a little, but this is also stipulated in the instructions.

And we went to the store again today, but not in Mvideo, but in Beringov this time. and bought the same Moulinex 200030. There is no unpleasant smell. and even cheaper by 600 rubles than in mvideo. but haven't tested yet. By the way, the heaped-up HP Bork with a plastic one fiddles, and how!
Juliet
The stove never smelled like anything chemical. And, probably, I would not buy a thing that smells of plastic (to be honest, it terribly bothers me - I go to the refrigerator, no matter how you open it, it carries at least a little plastic from there).
I replace milk powder and water in recipes always for ordinary milk - after all, in milk powder there is also chemistry so that the grains do not stick together. There was never a puncture.
And as for errors / inaccuracies in the baking instructions - here is one of them - where butter is said to be butter and the measure is given in spoons, and not in grams. To be honest, the postscript that 1 Art. A spoonful of this something like 17 grams of butter did not find immediately, but before that, it put 15 grams of butter in all types of bread (including milk), like in "French" bread. Then I began to do everything right, but then and now everything worked out.
Problems (where you can't expect) were only when instead of coarse common salt I began to use "extra" - the bread stopped rising, although it was baked and tasty. Now for bread I use some kind of medium-sized seemingly German "sea salt" (without iodine), I'm quite happy - it's all hockey!

By the way! manuals are sometimes withdrawn by sellers of "gray" equipment together with a warranty card of the manufacturer (not the seller) in order to sell "illegal" equipment with legal documents. I was told in due time that this is often done with laptops. Maybe with stoves too?
may be. in general, there is no trust in our chain stores of technology, they are always cheating on something. As for the smells of plastic, we realized that, quite simply, the odor criterion should be taken into account when choosing a new device in a store. today the tests were successful, the bread turned out awesome

and yesterday I passed Novex to M-Video for examination, because when baking, the smell of plastic filled the whole apartment and then lasted for almost a day, and the bread also came out with a taste. Interestingly, the examination will say that everything is in order? The dispatcher in m-Video tried to convince me of this in advance.
But even if my money is not returned, I will not use it, I will throw it away.

It should not be! The new stove has a smell, like any other technique .. but it should go away at the first, well, the second time.
I think if after several baking cycles the smell remains - this may be a reason for a return.
ksenn
so I wanted to pass it, but they took it only for examination. Moreover, they "promised" that no one will check it for smells, but only for the presence of technical and mechanical defects.

Our Panasonic emitted the smell of preservative grease from ten only 1 pastry, it did not affect the taste-aroma of bread! When buying a refrigerator, I noticed the stench from LG !! At the same time, the electrolux did not smell of anything

Peace be with you bakers!
sazalexter - noticed the stench from LG !!
you didn’t understand this is their signature scent \ registered \

Well, you shouldn't have smelled like that, my stove LG 205 CJ did not smell anything either right away or now. ;

Very strange, monitors and TVs do not have this "smell".
And here is the technique in contact with food
I won't tell you about the stove, I only smelled refrigeration

When baking, a pungent pungent smell appears from the upper gray hole in the lid. At first, the smell was generally very strong. Now for the fourth time, it seems smaller. I have to ventilate the apartment after baking ...
