Cut biscuits and casseroles in a non-stick form without fear of damaging it.

: yes: and also - cut the dough on a silicone mat or on a table, which you would not want to damage with a sharp metal knife. True, I cut with a silicone spatula, but I would not refuse a knife.

Mila wrote it correctly, depth is desirable. I whisk in a ceramic mug that has a constant diameter from bottom to edge.

Hello.
I read this topic with great interest, starting from the first page. I am only at the beginning of the fifth hundred pages so far, but I will definitely read everything - I like it very much. Thank you.
At one time, the members of the forum wrote a lot about plastic stands with holes - for sprouting onions.
I saw them on sale. I didn't buy - some boring ones (those that I saw - "sad" - brown), and they take up a lot of space.
For those who have not yet purchased, I want to offer my own version.
I use a separate jar for each bulb. More than others I liked the jars from chicory (h = 10.3 cm, d neck = 4.5 cm), and horseradish (h = 10 cm, d neck - approx. 5 cm).
Of course, the appearance of the bulbs in transparent jars is rather miserable, the daylight instantly spoils the water, and the method of germination itself - in jars and plastic cups - is far from new.
My idea is very simple - the jars need to be wrapped from thick oilcloth.
An ordinary rectangle is cut from the oilcloth along the height of the can. And the width of the rectangle is the circumference of the jar, plus a couple of centimeters for an overlap when fastening, and 3-4 millimeters - for a free, so to speak, fit. Well, that is, so that the jar can be easily pulled out of the "case".
You need to overlap with ordinary office brackets, using a stapler.
You can make such a ring out of cardboard, and then glue it over with self-adhesive film. But, with a cardboard "fence" will need to be very careful to handle - water is "afraid".
In addition, the trade pleases with a variety of oilcloths with beautiful colors. I prefer to use thick oilcloth.

By the way, you can move the jars tightly to each other, and make a common "sarafan".
I like custom wrappers better.

Try it.
It turns out very nice and convenient - the jars are protected from light, and you can always maneuver the number of bulbs. Let's say you just threw out the onion, but there is no replacement for it. On the factory stand, an extra hole will gap empty. And in our case, just remove the extra jar.

The same bright and beautiful oilcloth "dress" can be made for stands for knives. (These are filled coasters.)

And further. I will not be surprised at all if such "wrappers" have already been proposed - ideas, as they say, are in the air, and KP is a forum of amazingly talented people.
If this is a repeat, I beg your pardon.

Vika , I had something like that once, it broke, because I used it not only for boiled, but also raw, and there you have to make an effort. It cracked in the end, the plastic was weak.

I didn't have a set, but just separately for apples and vegetables, a grate ... For apples it broke, the apples were too hard or the plastic was too soft .. In general, my husband said that this is a toy and cannot be repaired, throw it out and forget it, I was told
And for vegetables there is a lattice and now I bought it for some pennies, it seems it cost 2-3 euros, I use it very rarely, and it is not very convenient, as it turned out ...
Plastic it is plastic, it breaks down quickly. Alas...

And we don't cut bananas. Serve vases with whole fruits. Moreover, bananas.

We are being cut. And bananas and apples. Especially if served in a restaurant in portions. Each - his own plate with fruit, half an apple cut into slices, half a pear, half a banana with rings. I was surprised that the fruit is shiny. The waiter explained that it was sugar syrup to make the dish look good and not aired.

I think the Teflon rug is better for the Princess. Cheaper and thinner and slips better. 🔗
Ekaterina2
Teflon - is it so thin, gray? I have one, I bought it for the oven. And then I decided to buy something for the Princess for pies, cut it out to fit the diameter and leave the ears for easy pulling out. And something slowed down. The regent is so dense, dark blue, and the Chinese of all colors of the rainbow ...

My daughter did not cut off the Teflon, she puts it right, the edges go beyond the shape. I am very satisfied. I first bought the Princess for her, and then I bought a rug for her. And I have several silicone mats. They are very difficult to wash off fats. At least like mine. When they lie down for a bit, I take them out and they are all sticky, before putting the dough I wash well again. I begin to wipe it off with a towel, and the fat begins to roll into crumbs. It's unpleasant.
Ekaterina2
Mila1, I'm not a fan of washing, and even twice .... Thanks for the tip!
Shelena
Katerina, if there is a dishwasher, then the silicone is washed very well there.

I noticed that with frequent use, silicone dishes become sticky. And - even if you wash them around the clock - to no avail. I would venture to suggest that this is not fat at all. It is they who fail. I have been using silicone molds for a long time, and very actively
At one time, I was very fond of silicone pot lids. Washed off excellently, and they were never greasy. But sticky, and as if greased, all became necessary, even cheap, even expensive. True, about the most expensive - Tupper's, I can't say anything - I didn't buy

Try washing your silicone molds with laundry soap.
Mine are 3-4 years of regular use and almost like new.

I completely agree, apparently the high temperature and the fat from the products somehow interacts with the silicone and softens it or something, and it is not the fat but the dissolved silicone that is smeared, and with Taper, too, I left it only for cold work.
Zena
maidens and my Taperveev's lids from the dishes have also become sticky lately .. you seem to wash it and nothing but just stand in the closet and sticky again .. I just don't have a dishwasher with my hands ... that's just today I'm doing this ... I wash my wealth ... but why it happened I can't find the answer ...
today I began to wash it with niitium .. first, households with soap, and then a second time with detergent ...
pawllena
And I left a silicone lid for a cup on the windowsill at the dacha. We arrive in two days, and she is doused with vegetable oil. So it was not possible to wash it, I had to throw it away.

"Duc, by the fall, perhaps, I will become a good merchandiser" - I was dreaming about it. While browsing through the information on Joseph Joseph's garlic presses, I discovered that they are available in different varieties: chrome, stainless steel and zinc.

Here, and how to deal with it? Where to go?
I checked my all-metal press, for example, with a magnet.
Yeon does not magnetize - it looks like NOT chrome.
And, here's how to tell - zinc or stainless steel?
And what properties does the thing gain / lose due to the fact that it is, for example, made of zinc?

Please help the novice "merchandiser".
tsetse fly
Stainless steel is 100% non-magnetic.
Pakat
Your aunt is not true, whether the stainless steel magnet is magnetic or not, depends on its composition ...
selenа
Pakat, uncle agrees with you, I have a stainless steel kettle, the bottom is not encapsulated, the sides are not magnetised, and the magnet stuck to the bottom, not a little surprise, the induction recognizes it, but can hardly start to warm up, and then turn off
tsetse fly
I went and looked at the spoons / forks of the Sovdepovsky and dog feeders, it does not magnetize at all. I do not know about the composition, the marking is "stainless."

Zinc and aluminum are not dishwasher safe.Aluminum is slightly softer than other metals, but that doesn't matter when it comes to garlic. Therefore, do not bother and buy the one that you like and is available within the budget.
Glale
Irina-Kara... thanks for your feedback.

Girls, I have been using this teflon varnished cloth for 2 years now, it is produced for the food industry.
🔗
As soon as I received, I cut out rugs in all my pans, baking sheets. Everything slides off without problems, just have time to pick it up, no sticking. I don't even grease with anything, I put it in a pizza oven on a stone (not a Ferrari).
And after 2 years of constant use, they still do not require replacement, they are not sticky, after use they can be washed, or you can simply wipe with a dry cloth.
