In general, 3158 is already at my house, after the old and well-deserved Panasonic-18 (even from the first parties, when even the sellers in the store shied away from the word "multicooker") - the shaitan machine
I'll start cooking tomorrow, but I've already pushed the buttons. I agree that the inability to turn off the device with a button on the case is a very strange idea of such a well-known brand.

Ladies, please tell me about the pilaf.

According to the recipe book, you need to turn on the pilaf mode, then fry the meat, add onions, carrots, rice, add water and wait.
According to the instructions (on a large sheet), you need to pour everything into the pan, turn on the pilaf mode and wait.

Actually, I have already set to cook, but according to the usual option - I fried meat and vegetables, then I turned on the pilaf mode. Maybe in vain it was necessary to evaluate the official recipe? (it is not clear only which of them) In Panasonic, "Plov" is completely automatic (another thing is that all this recipe was adjusted to the usual one), is it also conceived like that here, in theory?
Nadin1234
lastochka, cook as you like. I also fry everything first. On the Frying mode, and not on Plov, as for some reason it is suggested. Then I add rice and salted water and turn on the Pilaf mode. Always a good result, because the touch mode.
Alexey-m
Tell me how to cook frozen vegetables in the mv, which are sold in a package in stores (asparagus beans, different mixtures)?
Manna
Alexey-m, and what do you want to get from them? If fried, then roasted, if stewed, then stewed.
Alexey-m
Manna, usually, I cook waxes in a frying pan, take frozen ones, add butter, keep them covered for 5-7 minutes in a well-heated frying pan, they melt, give juice, steamed a little in their own juice and melted water. Then, I open the lid and keep it open - I evaporate the moisture, cook, but I do not let it stifle and steam until soft. A minute before cooking, when there is no water, I add a few crushed garlic cloves (if we talk about asparagus). And I fry it a little. Taking off, rubbing hard cheese. I cover it with a lid, and while I arrange the plates, they simmer a little, the cheese melts, the vegetables are soaked in the smell of garlic and cheese. The result is juicy, firm vegetables. All cooking 12-15 minutes.
I want something similar.
Alexey-m
It turns out that at first I quickly defrost them and steam them a little, but that would not become sluggish, and then evaporate the moisture before frying and the first crunching. Steamer, frying ... how?

By the way, how do you use a steamer? Put a bowl of food on a steamer rack filled with water? Will the food be cooked from below? Or pour water less than the stand and put food on it? If on it - how to get steamed fish, vegetables (they will all crumble)? + they can still give juice, is it normal that it will drip into the water for the park? I can not imagine.

Another question. How to make fried fish with onions? Pass the onion until the first delicate golden color. Sea fish, roll in flour, a little salt, and fry in a pan until light crust, remove in a bowl, and leave it under the lid to sweat on cooling for a short time. What's the best way to do something like this?

P.s. mv haven't bought it yet. I wait until it appears after the holidays. I try on the recipes I'm used to.
Larssevsk
Alexey-m, and which multicooker did you choose? I cook vegetables depending on the type - green beans, first in the frying mode, then add spices, a little mayonnaise and in the stewing mode. Steamed broccoli in a steam basket. The basket is taken out and the broccoli is transferred to the plate. Nothing crumbles. Doesn't your food crumble or fall apart in a double boiler?
In general, look at the forum - there are a lot of dishes for multicooker, including fish and onions
Alexey-m
Larssevsk, chose Philips 3165. 4 liters. I realized that I had to wait and start cooking.

Please tell me about the "Steam cooking" mode. I did not expect such an ambush from him.
I did everything according to the instructions (water-grill-meatballs), set 20 minutes of cooking. The water boiled, steam came from the valve, but the snake continued to run. After 10 minutes I could not stand it and turned off the MV, re-enabled the mode, set this time for 10 minutes. After a couple of minutes I thought, "What if you had to turn off the heating in this mode?", Zamknul on "Heating", MV squeaked, the snake disappeared, a green cooking icon appeared and the countdown began.
The water, of course, boiled away and the saucepan almost burned out, but the question is different - are there any tricks in this mode?
Rituslya
Elena, well no. Probably, you didn’t have enough patience to start the countdown. The temperature sensor didn't work properly.
This also happened to me, but I do not react to the countdown, but I put in food and sometimes count down the time on my own.

Yes, the temperature sensor is probably buggy. Eh, there is no limit to perfection, everything needs an eye and an eye

I had a thought that this could be due to a non-original bowl (stood at 3737). Well, you never know ... the weight, the thickness of the bowl, does something else affect ...?
I decided to check. In the original bowl, after the appearance of steam from the valve, the countdown began in a minute, in the non-original bowl - in two and a half minutes.

It is also necessary to check how much water needs to be poured so that it will be enough to cook for a couple of 20 minutes, and so that the grate is not flooded with water

I am choosing a multicooker to buy. I am considering Philips HD3158 / 03. However, on Yandex-Market I found a devastating review from a certain user. Here are excerpts from his post, from which it follows that MV stinks terribly when heated, since the heating element is fixed with some kind of sealant that emits a stench, and also that the lower surface of the lid is some kind of foil, under which you cannot clean the dirt:

Here is the link and quote
(removed the link)
<< The heating element of this model is flooded with some kind of incomprehensible sealant that stinks terribly when heated (a common disease in this model), if possible, check directly in the store, boiling two glasses of water without leaving the cash register (funny yourself, but what to do? ??). Remember - nothing but food should smell from the multicooker !!!
4 - The power of the device is excessive, it eats more electricity than a kettle, whatever one may say, but we do not have a meter for gas, and the electric meter is spinning like crazy, a kilowatt of this device is already serious.
5 - On the inside of the lid, there is aluminum foil, well, or whatever it is, thin and food residues accumulate behind it, it is impossible to remove them from there, I hope you understand how this will end ... >>

I ask those who used HD 3158 to confirm or deny these statements of the author of the review. Please answer me!
Manna
This review is not devastating, but, forgive me, its author, stupid ... well, or anti-advertising.

Quote: Drew
common disease in this model
It is nonsense. This sometimes happens with multicooker and similar devices, that when you first turn it on, something burns on the heating element. I have never met a Phillips multicooker with a stench.

Quote: Drew
The power of the device is excessive, it eats more electricity than a kettle
This is if the author decided to constantly fry something in a multicooker ... And even then, more than the kettle will not take, because after heating the heating element, it should be turned off. Basically, when extinguishing and similar modes, the multicooker consumes almost half of the electricity declared, since it turns on the heating element only when it cools down below the conditional temperature. High power allows the device fast heat the bowl to the desired temperature. The lower the power, the slower the bowl will heat up.

Aluminum foil on the inside of the lid
Did the author exactly hold this slow cooker in his hands? There is a regular aluminum plate inside, which stands on most of the lids of multicooker. Nothing falls under it.The cover can be removed and washed as needed.

In general, this multicooker is very good. I like the Philips models more than others: 3095, 3158, 3165/67, 3197.
Drew
Manna, thank you so much! I will order this slow cooker and write the culinary reports of the old bachelor on the forum :-)))))

All the points, as Manna said above, are complete nonsense. You may or may not like the design, size, number of modes and their functionality, but what is listed in the review is sucked out of the finger by a person who has never seen this MV.
If I had chosen today, then perhaps I would have taken not 5, but 4-liter, since additional bowls for 4-liter can now be bought at a good discount. But who knows, maybe 5-liter will sooner or later fall in price ... and an extra volume when cooking jellied meat is never superfluous

Drew
Thank you lastochka for your support. 3158 ordered. In addition to the advantages of the MV itself, the decisive factor was the possibility of acquiring additional bowls (at an affordable price)
Blueberry-Masha
Uraaaa !!! Today I bought 3158. Tin, in our Crimean stores there is simply no more expensive than this model))) Everyone is not praying for her.
Fuh. In general, there has never been a multicooker, how to cook this lemonade there? I'm very afraid ...
Blueberry-Masha
Girls, I'm a complete layman in multicooker - never was. Tell me how to cook a small amount of, say, instant oatmeal in milk?
In the instruction book, some kind of nonsense is written - 200g of oatmeal BP (1multican) and 1-1.2 liters of milk.
I weighed the weight of flakes from 1 multi-glass - 70g turned out. I don't want anything to burn ...
HELP!!! What proportions to take and whether you need to set time or just a porridge regime and that's it?
Larssevsk
1: 3 I cook hercules. 1: 4 buckwheat, wheat, barley. 1: 5 rice and millet
Blueberry-Masha
Larssevsk, thank you very much for your reply. Yesterday, on a whim, I boiled oatmeal (fast) 1d3 on the porridge mode.
That is, it boiled and then cooked after boiling for 10 minutes.
Do buckwheat and rice groats need to be set? or also 10 minutes?
Larssevsk
No, I put buckwheat at 20, and rice at 30. Then I keep it on heating for another hour (to make it tastier. And in general, I have another slow cooker, I accidentally went here to see the light
Blueberry-Masha
Larssevsk, oh, thanks a lot for stopping by. Though different, but Phillips. According to your feedback, I took it.
Who else would suggest that her rice / cereal mode is touch sensitive, that is, if I stuff pasta there and the water boils away, it will stop?
Larssevsk
In my touch and cereals and pilaf
Blueberry-Masha
Aah, girls, I can't understand anything. I was cooking pilaf now. Rice I had 1.5 ms. The water poured hot for 3 ms.
First, I fried meat and vegetables on the ROAST
Then she put the whole bowl in and turned on the PLOV mode.
The instructions say that the time cannot be set there. That is, it is automatic for 40 minutes. Turned on - the snake ran.
She ran, she ran ... I looked into the cartoon - the water evaporated, the rice seemed to me ready. I cut it out because I don't want to ruin the bowl and so that my pilaf would burn? I did something wrong? Did you have to wait until the end?

And further. That is, I understand correctly that I cook 1.5 ms of rice per pilaf, which is 4 ms, then the cooking time for pilaf will always be the same and pilaf will always be cooked?

Excuse me in advance, but I don't understand how this smart device works ...
Larssevsk
Blueberry-Masha, "pilaf" mode - touch. You didn't have the patience to wait for it to shut down. Try again later. As soon as the water boils away and the bottom is slightly fried, the mode will turn off. Depending on the amount of liquid, the cooking time will be different, because the more water, the longer it will take to evaporate. The proportions that you took 1.5 ms of rice per 3 ms of water, in my opinion, are quite normal. No more water needed (as it seems to me)
Blueberry-Masha
Thank you very much for your patience and help !!!
Please look into the topic - do not leave me)
Can you tell me where else you can look at recipes for a novice cook for my slow cooker (or similar). Maybe there are some sites.
I understand that the recipe book is really about nothing ... They lie there at every step - it's not pleasant ...
Larssevsk
Masha, in a couple of weeks you yourself will be amused by your questions. Actually, bother with nuances less. Do everything on a whim. Through trial and error, you will come to the result. I take absolutely all the recipes I like from any multicooker and use them mainly on stewing or pilaf (well, if it's not porridge)
Blueberry-Masha
Thank you. I just have a small child and I want to prepare the ingredients, fry them there, put them in the bowl and that's it. And do not run, check it is ready or not, whether it is burnt ...
Probably I want a lot?))))
Manna
Blueberry-Masha, no, not much. This is how good multicooker works. You just need to adjust. Look at the recipes in this section for the HD3197 multicooker - it is similar in programs to the 3158.
Blueberry-Masha
Wow, MANNA herself answered me !!!! Thank you girls for not leaving me !!!!

I'm going to stew cabbage with mushrooms.
I wonder if I fry everything, throw it down, put it on 20 (or 30?) Minutes for stewing AND LEAVE, is there a risk that the bottom will burn?
Larssevsk
Masha, I would have done so. I think nothing will burn
Manna
Quote: Blueberry Masha
AND WILL LEAVE
How far will I go? If it's around the house, then it's not scary. And somewhere like a store, I would not - after all, a multicooker is an electric appliance.

When extinguished, it usually does not burn.
Larssevsk
Manna, I'm leaving . I'm not afraid of someone. I leave the washing machine, and the dishwasher, and the robot vacuum cleaner, and the multicooker. Time is saved however
Blueberry-Masha
I also leave the washing machine, it takes a long time ...
It's just that sometimes you have to go to the clinic with your child in the morning, and then a whole unsolvable (more precisely, solved by getting up early) problem arises - to have time to cook soup for dinner.

And another question, if in the evening you pour milk and water and pour porridge - the milk is not right, it will not deteriorate? There were no cases?

And the second point - we pour hot water for cereals, right?
Larssevsk
Masha, I put only long-term storage milk on hold. Perishable something I have not tried. I fill the cereals with ordinary water from the filter. Maybe hot and better, but I haven't heard anything about it
lastochka

I personally did not have it, but I read that there are. Most often, when hot and milk is used for a short shelf life, pasteurized for example.

Quote: Larssevsk
No, I put buckwheat at 20, and rice at 30.
Is it on Kas mode? It's sensory, does it make sense to change the time?

I also leave, leaving all the equipment to work. "Robots work in - happy man" (c)

Larssevsk
lastochka, but is it sensory porridge in 3158? I have a slightly different model. In it, the mode goes to the set temperature, and then the time countdown begins.

I'm sorry, in my head porridge the modes of Krupa and Kasha were mixed, I thought about one, wrote about the other
Yes, Kasha is not sensory, you have to set the time. The question is cleared
Blueberry-Masha
But what about potatoes and pasta, also with cold water? I was always told - if khosh is a tasty product, then pour boiling water, if broth - cold. From this theory it turns out that if you pour cold potatoes, then the whole taste will go into the broth.
Oooh how many questions I have ...
Larssevsk
Masha, it's a matter of taste and opportunity. Of course, hot can be poured. By the way, I'll try too. It never crossed my mind, just

I remember this rule (since the time of the book about Kalinka), but most often I break it for cereals and potatoes. I don't cook pasta in its pure form in MV, but I probably would have poured boiling water over it.
When I am not lazy, or if a new recipe for me directly states that it is necessary to pour boiling water, then I usually boil the water directly in the MV (on Steam or Multipovare), and then I put the product there.
Blueberry-Masha
And on what mode to cook the compote? I cook for the child from apples and frozen currants and klyuniki. I want not to boil too much. Or boiled, a little sweat and truncated.
I tried it on drinks, but it really boils on drinks.
In general, I will not eat by any principle, which modes work ...
Larssevsk
Masha, I would cook it in jellied meat or soup, although I don't cook compote in Phillips, I like it more from a pressure cooker
Manna
If you pour the cereals with hot water, you will need more of it. I pour it cold. The touch modes (and they are focused on cooking rice) are set for cold water. When using hot water, the duration of the mode is reduced, therefore, with the same amount of water, the cereals may not be cooked.

In the hot season, girls use frozen milk to cook milk porridge with a delay.

Usually I cook porridge in the evening (I put it before bedtime already late) and leave it on the heating plate overnight. By morning it is usually boiled, hot and very tasty.
Mila Sweetheart
But somehow I will not adapt with touch modes. The liquid is boiling away, but the countdown is still going on. I turn it off without waiting, I'm afraid it will burn. And the cereal turns out to be a little dry. Although I pour enough water. Girls, please tell me your proportions for croup and for pilaf. What can be wrong.
Blueberry-Masha
Mila Sweetheart, oh, do you have such a cartoon? Let's be friends, otherwise I won't be friends with her.
At the expense of touch modes, the same garbage. Cooked pasta on RIS mode according to Manna's recipe. The last time I waited for the end. But in reality, when the cartoon just came out for a while and decided to cook for another 15 minutes, the water had already boiled away. As a result, nothing burned and dried out a bit.

I did not wait for the pilaf to finish. But even in my case, the bottom was a little blush.

What are you cooking? I'm trying to cook millet porridge with pumpkin. And I don't know how long to put on porridge for ...
Blueberry-Masha
And yes, she cooked 1 serving of pasta for about 35 minutes. As for me, this is a very long time.
Rituslya
Devuli, I'm one of the next two topics about Filek.
How do you cook pasta? Do you have a button, in my opinion, pasta eggs? Now it's too late to look, you can't see anything, but I'll look tomorrow.
You can also pour hot water to make it faster.
