Turnip onion 100 g
Eggs 4 things
Nutmeg 5 times at the tip of a knife
Milk 200 g
Parsley 1 bundle
Butter 30 g

  • These are the tastiest dumplings I've ever eaten in Germany.
  • I am happy to share this wonderful, old German recipe. I never thought that I would be delighted with minced bread!
  • Perfect as a side dish for poultry, meat, stewed red cabbage. Be sure to serve it with a classic sauce.
  • It's just mega mega delicious!
  • Pre-dry the booths, about 2 days.
  • Cut dry rolls into medium squares and place in a large bowl. Fry onions in butter, add nutmeg. Add milk and bring everything to a boil.
  • Finely chop the greens and beat together with the eggs.
  • Add the hot mixture of milk and onion to the buns. Stir and cover with a towel. Wait for the mixture to cool slightly and become warm.
  • Add egg mixture. Mix. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Pour 5 liters of water into a large saucepan and add 2 tbsp. l salt, put on fire.
  • Meanwhile, take three clean kitchen towels and moisten them in cold water. We unscrew. We divide the mass into three equal parts. We spread a towel on the table, put part of our mass and form a sausage. We twist the towel, pressing and forming a dense sausage with our hands. Tie the ends of the towel with a thick thread or string. It turns out already such a tremendous candy!
  • As soon as the water boils, we reduce the gas and attention - Dumplings are boiled in NOT boiling water !!! Put our dumpling candies in water and leave them for 20 minutes. Make sure that the water comes to a boil, but does not boil!

  • Pull out the finished dumplings. Cut the threads, unfold the sausage, cut into circles.

As far as I know, only small buns are used. Maybe this is due to drying out and crusting. I do not know! I also wanted to replace it with white bread. No, just buns. I took the recipe from my mother-in-law.
