Potato cakes (add mashed potatoes)

Ingredients

mashed potatoes 200 g
vegetable oil 50 g
egg 1 PC
salt 1 tsp
sugar 1 tsp
wheat flour 150 g
baking powder 1 tsp
sesame seeds (optional) 2 tbsp. l.

Cooking method

  • I add salt, sugar to mashed potatoes and mix thoroughly with vegetable oil and egg. Mix flour with baking powder and add mashed potatoes-butter-egg to the mixture. It takes no more than five minutes to prepare the dough with a mixer.
  • The dough turns out to be soft and slightly lumpy, perfectly molded and does not stick to the hands due to its oiliness. You may need more flour, it all depends on the puree itself, its original liquid.
  • Potato cakes (add mashed potatoes)
  • I cut them into flat cakes no more than 1 cm thick, preferably 7-8 mm. I put it on a silicone mat or baking paper, sprinkle with sesame seeds, so that it does not fall off the cakes, I grease them with either jelly or weak syrup.
  • I put it in an oven preheated to 180-200 C ° for 30-35 minutes.

  • The cakes in my gas oven have bad browning on the top and I have to put them under the grill for a couple of minutes, I think it is worth setting the baking sheet higher in the electric oven.

  • I cooked them many, many times! Flatbreads are great both as an independent snack and as a bread substitute for soups and sandwiches. We fell in love with these cakes with the whole family, I in particular, because now I always know where to attach the remaining "handful" of mashed potatoes!

5 minutes kneading + 30 minutes baking

Cooking program:

baking in the oven 180-200 ℃

Note

The father of the real recipe was Finnish cakes from Sanechka... The difference is in the ratio of flour-puree and the use of vegetable oil instead of butter.

The usual jelly, which I cook from cranberries or cherries - 1 tbsp. l potato starch for 1L fruit drink.
I don’t remember exactly, but I read somewhere that the jelly brew does not allow the powders to fall from the bread, there was an ordinary jelly at hand - I smeared it with ordinary jelly, the powder holds perfectly! If there is no jelly, I brew the syrup in microwaves - 1 hour. l. sugar and 1 / 4st. water, grease them with cakes and sprinkle them. I made the last lubricant with honey - neither taste nor sweetness is felt!
