In our case, this is to monitor the cleanliness of both valves, the sealing (supporting) ring of the float valve so that it is always in place (some owners lost it), also periodically remove the protective cap (thimble) and tighten the pressure relief valve nut. And of course, correctly insert the O-ring, because in one place of the lid circumference it fits very tightly into place and may not fully enter the groove. I advise everyone who has encountered this, to improve sliding, wet the part of the silicone ring corresponding to the narrowed area with water, and it easily snaps into place. And the last thing is to fix the cover correctly. I once managed to somehow not close it completely! The effect was similar to yours.
