Barley "Mocha" (multicooker-pressure cooker Steba DD1)

Category: Dishes from cereals and flour products
Barley Mokko (multicooker-pressure cooker Steba DD1)

Ingredients

pearl barley 1 mstk
water 3-4mstk
milk 1L
coffee (instant or ground) 2 tbsp. l. with a slide
cocoa powder 5 tbsp. l.
chocolate 100g.
oil 50g.
zest of 1 orange
vanillin 1d.
salt 1 tsp l.
sugar 5 tbsp. l.

Cooking method

  • This is a delicious, nutritious, aromatic, invigorating, revitalizing and rejuvenating breakfast. It can be lean and dietary if you replace milk with water. And it's also easy to prepare. This is a HIT during the examination period (GIA, USE, session), since the combination of "slow" carbohydrates and phosphorus of barley with coffee, cocoa, milk and chocolate gives a long-term and pronounced nootropic effect (ie, nutrition and stimulation of the brain). It takes longer to describe a recipe than to cook. It only takes me 15-20 minutes to prepare breakfast for 3 days. It is advisable to soak the barley for several hours. I soak when I go to work. You can not soak, but only rinse well, but I like the result after soaking more. Rinse the pearl barley well (by the way, the name "pearl barley" - from the word "pearl" = "pearl"), fill in soaked 3 mstk water, unsoaked - 4 mstk water, add salt and sugar. Mode "Porridge" 0.7 (high pressure) 1 minute for soaked, 5 minutes for not soaked. While it is heated-done-cooled before unlocking (unlocked at T = 90 *, it will take 15-20 minutes together), heat milk + coffee + cocoa + chocolate to T = 80-90 *, that is, not to boil ( then essential oils do not oxidize or evaporate). Instant coffee is simply added to milk, and ground coffee must be boiled in 1 mstk of water and filtered (we get about 2/3 mstk of very strong coffee). Some of the milk can be replaced with cream. When unlocked, add vanillin, zest, add butter, pour in hot milk-coffee-chocolate mixture, if desired, add cinnamon and / or cardamom. We set the "languor" mode 88 * 5 hours. And that's it! Then I stood for another 1.5 hours, because I put it for the night. Serve sprinkled with what you like best: grated fresh zest, cinnamon, chocolate chips, chopped dried fruits (dried apricots, dates, prunes, raisins, dried cherries or cranberries), nuts, fresh berries or fruits, powdered sugar or any jam. The taste and aroma are incomparable, and the jack will envy the lifting power in the morning!

Time for preparing:

20min + 5hours

Cooking program:

Porridge, languor

Note

Barley has anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, enveloping, antibacterial, antifungal, emollient and diuretic properties. The set of trace elements of pearl barley porridge is more than valuable, it contains salts of potassium, calcium, iron, there is also zinc, copper, manganese, molybdenum, strontium, nickel, cobalt, chromium, iodine, bromine, a lot of phosphorus. It is able to provide the growing body with all the substances and components necessary for growth and development. Therefore, it is extremely important to include it in the children's menu. It is also extremely beneficial for the elderly, as it contains a versatile complex of nutrients and vitamins that are very important for the aging body. Moreover, pearl barley contains a valuable component - hordecin, which has the broadest and most powerful antifungal and antibacterial effect. Lysine contained in cereals has an antiviral effect. A large amount of fiber contributes to a more active digestive process and weight loss.In addition, barley contains numerous amino acids that promote collagen production and its rejuvenation, which is enhanced by the powerful antioxidants of coffee, cocoa and citrus peel.

Does the chocolate have a bad color? Normal chocolate.

And I have never seen such pearl barley)
Linadoc
Fragrant pearl barley, chocolate and very tasty. Mine adore and beg, for some reason they do not see anything "unappetizing".
Anna1957
Chocolate butter exists and no one has called it repulsive. For example, I do not like sweet butter and porridge, but it would never occur to me to call them repulsive. In my opinion, this is a matter of education. In order to have an opinion, you must at least try, I think.

Anna(as well as the author of the recipe), and you if offended me inadvertently :) the world?

Well, of course)))

Can we try "blindly", like on the "Voice" program?

Virgo, I want to intervene)
Lina, well done! She always cooks something unusual, which I, for example, would never have guessed to buy and combine products like that.
Well, maybe I transferred the photo like that, but that does not mean that the dish is not tasty!
In general, let's respect each other !!

Linadoc,
And I will cook rice according to your method, my son does not want to eat barley at all! On the other hand, he may not recognize barley in such an outfit.

WOW !!!!

Oh, sorry, I just noticed the question! At first I was in that dimension, then in this one, but at work more than at home. In a normal cartoon, you can do it on languor or in manual mode.

Thank you very much!

Linadoc,
A very interesting recipe! And at what temperature and how much would you advise to simmer in the dd2 staff?

Kate, in DD2 I did it at 95 * C for 3 hours without bringing to a boil, but be sure to pre-soak for 8-10 hours. This is necessary for the phytic acid of the shell to pass into a soluble and assimilable form, then pearl barley is an elixir.
Katya1234
Linadoc,
Lina, thank you very much! Didn't know about soaking for 8-10 hours.

Yes, Katya, if cereals are eaten without soaking, phytic acid removes calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus and other minerals from the body. It is not for nothing that our ancestors (after all, they are not fools) always soaked all cereals before cooking, then phytic acid, which has passed into a soluble form, on the contrary gives a bunch of minerals to the body.

Linadoc, I have a regular Polaris multicooker. There are multi-cook modes, languor, they say. porridge. I sit thinking how to cook. If on a multi-cook, then the temperature is 100.

Linochka, can you explain a separate Temka, or a recipe for how to properly cook barley, barley. I love these cereals, but I don't cook.

Linadoc
Tonya, barley should be simmered or stewed, at worst, 3-5 hours. She is generally immaculate. But there are two rules for languishing - pre-soak for 8-10 hours (water should be 3 times more than cereals, drain the water, rinse the barley), cook for a long time without boiling (T = 80-95 * C) in relation to liquid 1 : 2.5 (for a side dish) or 1: 5 (for porridge). Also a good option is a pressure cooker (under high pressure for 20 minutes, the ratio with the liquid is the same), but pre-soak it anyway.
Anatolyevna
Thank you Linochka! I received information for thought.

How much useful information and what an unusual and interesting recipe! Bookmark unambiguously!
Linadoc
Nastya, in general I really love and appreciate barley, so there are still recipes: pearl barley with mushrooms, barley in monastery style.
musya
thanks for the delicious porridge!
I cooked barley, did not add cocoa, but I put in more chocolate. I didn't add the zest either (there were no oranges at home), in general I ate it without additives! Who loves chocolate - I recommend it! and by the way, after eating this porridge, the hunt for sweets is fighting off, apparently the body receives its dose of chocolate, plus complex carbohydrates are slowly absorbed and do not feel like eating for a long time!
True, you still often do not eat such porridge, but a couple of times a month you can pamper yourself!
(my little daughter ate this porridge, mixed with buckwheat and heavily diluted with milk, but it was clear that she liked it)
Linadoc
Larissa, glad you liked ! Mine are in session now, so this is our daily breakfast for 2 weeks now.

And it's true. Most powerful argument. What other personal and scientific experiences are there, as well as professional research from reputable scientific institutions around the world. Doc, what are you talking about?
Linadoc
Anna, yes, when there are no arguments and this will do! Well, okay, this will not spoil the dish and will not diminish its benefits.
